Should we have the Geneva convention in Nationstates ? Forbidding biological weapons and the like.

Wolfish's Convention only covers UN nations and POWs, so we need to broaden it. Any wishing to sign a GC-like document, please post here.
I do.

WA recommends that the nation of Biotopia be sought as an ideal place to arrange negotiations.
They are a member of both CACE and the Non-Human Union, organisations that promote improved living standards across NationStates and can be counted on to support such a convention.
OOC: I'm in a big hurry in IRL, so i can't partisipate on planning or talks about GC. But my nation will sing it once it's ready. So you have my full support.

awwww, Mr popular nation, right here folks... enough of that vomit inducing crape.
I must put out a puppet warning on WA. However i didn't have time to sign out, sign back in and sign out again while replying as WA in a seperate thread at the same time, of cause i'm sure WA would have endorsed us anyway, lol

I do. But nobody follows Wolfish's Convetion. I, a UN member, have tousands of bio weapons spilt up into fifteen projects.

Precisely my point.
So, here is the original Geneva Convention (post any revisions you wish to have for NS):

good idea gentlemen. Should a Geneva convention be held, Credonia will send representatives
Bayorta would willingly sign any Geneva convention type document(if of course we agree with the terms) and will be sending a substantial amount of representatives if this goes ahead.

I for one think this is an excellent idea and anyone not following the convention will not be sold to.

Rather, at the beginning of a war, the ones fighting it state that they wish to use the GC laws.
Maybe a small alliance (5-members) inforces the GC in wars it is being used.
GC should have:
POW
Bio-weapons
Paratroopers
among other things
Setian-Sebeceans

Sure you can, but nations like me wouldn't comply to them.
Then you will be an outcast to the world

I think not. Many nations wont comply with it and we wont want to war with them for that reason! This will simply ruin NS.

Hiya, i say let's do this, RP it well [take the original and RP what we do and don't want] and then spread the word/ pop up during wars and point out the convention/ try and get the non Wolfish items passed as resolutions of the UN.
This offers several interesting opportunities for the future. We will participate, but cannot pledge ourselves to signing it.
llisten pall, members of the U.N. allready have to compley with a ban on bio weapons, but many nations just tell the UN "F--- Off" this convention would have no effect, even signers would just ignore it.

Well, we would approve of a player created Geneva Convention if it covers the aformentioned issues. But the real Geneva convention carries things a bit far, including the ban of Napalm, certain types of bullets and lasers, and it's definitions on acceptable(e.g. tear gas) vs. non-acceptable chemical weapons are rather fuzzy.
Show us a outline for what you propose, including the areas that will be covered and then we'll make a decision.
We should put a limit on Nuclear Devices that a country can have at one time but to get more they cant nuke a nation in oblivion.
