Have any research institutes done any research into naval cannon technology? If so, we would like to purchase it.

The BDIA has developed a 152mm naval railgun in service on the Tikhiy class stealth destroyer (it has a range of 100 nm).

We have designed a 1/2" naval deck gun if you are interested in something that small. We use it on our 25' gunboats.

We have a couple of solutions availble, including 155mm advanced gun systems (180km plus) and if you are into ETC, we have a 160mm ETC gun system (230km).

Of course for close in stuff we use the 35mm millenium gun and rapid fire 57mm DP guns

We are planning on upgrading our naval technology and ships in the near future, so please organize your possibilities in the following manner:

Contractor
Weapon Type
Weapon Calibur
Weapon Range
Weapon Refire Rate
Reload Style (Manual or Automatic)
Ship Type required (if you mount a rail gun on a PT boat, the recoil would destroy it.)
Tech Level (I only accept Modern to maybe 2010).

OOC: i understand that, hence no prices...

Damn.

We just use 150mm ETC guns, which have a pretty good range.

We are looking to upgrade our old CIWS's thouh, maybe to something more innovative.

Maybe a new project? Even though I am involved in 3....

Our Component Storefront (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1758866)
We have a range of naval guns, including advanced 8", 12", and 16" weapons, as well as CIWS systems. There's also a few 5" and 6.1" systems available as well.
We would be hesitant to give away the larger guns, but an appropriate trade could be worked out, especially for the Mk.1s.

Crookfur - is your G99 155mm AGS similar to the cannon that battleships use?

We would like to purchase documents covering ETC technology.

Not really its the guns for the proposed DDG(x) and the type 45 gun upgrade, it is primarily based on ground based artillery systems. i terms of naval guns it is in the very high end of what could be classed as the medium gun role although it far far more accurate and has better armour penetration than the AP shells from an Iowa's 16" rifles.

As to ETC we actually use 160mm ETC versions of the G99 on all our ships now (but as some people don't like ETC so we don't always mention it which is a shame as the US navy were testing 5" etc guns 4 years ago).

ETCs are bulky but thats not so much of a problem on large sized naval vessels (as the actual loading systems etc are lighter).

Of course these days the only shore bombardment ships i really use (or rahter people really see, as i have a couple of ohios converted to carry vertical gun systems instead of the D5 tridents) are my valkyrie criusers.

We have begun development of 19.5" guns for the battleship. The battleship is in Bismarck seaport being fitted, except for it's main cannon.
