M41A Pulse Rifle

Rifle without magazine and sling - 3.2 kg
Full magazine (100 rounds) - 1.5 kg
Sling - 0.2 kg
Firing weight (fully loaded w/sling) 4.9 kg
Length of rifle (stock retracted) 69.5 cm
Length of rifle (stock extended) 84.0 cm
Length of barrel 24.7 cm
Muzzle Velocity 840 m/s
Maximum range 2,100 m
Maximum effective range 500 m
Cyclic rate of fire 900 rpm

The M41A is the standard infantry weapon for the TSD armed Forces. It fires caseless light-armour- piercing rounds and is also equipped with a 30mm pump-action grenade launcher. The name of the gun is derived from the fact that an electronic pulse action (controlled by the trigger) is used to fire. The whole gun is recoil damped to avoid the "muzzle climb" often associated with automatic weapons. A thumb selector allows the weapon to be switched between selective, four-round burst and full automatic fire. The current number of rounds left in the clip is shown on a dual digit LED display just in front of the primary trigger. This display does not give information on the number of grenade rounds left in the launcher. The power for the gun is supplied by a rechargeable Lithium battery that is good for around 10,000 rounds.

The underslung grenade launcher can take several types of round including the M40 grenade and the M108 buckshot round. The M40 was the type used on the LV mission and has the feature that it can be used as a hand grenade. Flipping off the plastic cap and twisting the nose cap clockwise gives you a five second fuse before the M40 detonates. The launcher uses a four round internal magazine that is loaded by inserting individual grenades. The launcher is loaded by a pump-action and is fired by a secondary trigger situated in front of the magazine housing

We use weapons similar to those. But still we always have our katana at our side. To go to war with out it is a punish only dismissable by death. We usually only have wars between ourselves. We are experiencing feudal times right now, but anyways we normally use the katana as a last resort, not allways.

Lusakan standard issue is not all that standard. In times of crisis the hectic reserve is issued- men get what they get.

Everybody's favourite Lusakan infantry unit.. you know they're cooler than you are!

In truth the official standard issue rifle is the Yugoslav M59/66A1 semi-automatic rifle with folding bayonet and muzzle-grenade capacity.

The standard SMG is the pervasive Uzi.

CAR-21

The CAR-21 is the Main infantry weapon of the Imitora Colonial Marine Corps. Derived from the Armalite serries of rifles, the CAR-21 takes into place many advancements of modern weaponry. The CAR-21 has been rechambered for the 6.8x43mm round, due to its increased stopping power over the 5.56 round. Furthermore, IMI has expanded on the idea of frangible rounds, and currently, the standard ball round has been replaced by the frangible round. Weighing at a touch over 4 pounds, the CAR-21 has no forseeable replacement, and will be the mainstay of the ICMC for years to come.

SCR-12 Tavor Combat Rifle (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=59484&highlight=)

The Weapon

The weapon is a gas operated, selective fire, magazine fed assault rifle of bullpup configuration. It is available in several other configurations, which differ in the barrel lengths and accessories. The basic configuration is the SCR-21 assault rifle with the 460mm barrel. Next are the compact assault rifle, called CSCR-21, with the barrel 380 mm long, and the micro assault rifle (SCC-21) ,with a barrel of only 250 mm.
SCR-21 utilizes a long piston stroke, rotating bolt action, with the gas piston rigidly attached to the bolt carrier. The gas cylinder is located above the barrel and is completely enclosed by the gun housing. The rotating bolt is similar to one found in the M16 rifle and has seven lugs. The ejection ports are made on both sides of the weapon, and the right or the left side ejection can be selected by installing the bolt with the ejector mounted on the right or on the left, respectively (for either left-hand or right-hand firers). The bolt carrier rides on the single guide rod, with the return spring unit located above it, behind and inside the hollow gas piston rod. The charging handle is located at the front left side of the gun and does not reciprocate when gun is fired. The charging handle slots are cut on the both sides of the gun housing, so it can be installed on either side of the weapon, as required. The trigger unit is more or less conventional, with the ambidextrous fire mode selector / safety switch located above the pistol grip.
The SCR-21 has no separate receiver. Instead, all parts are mounted within the high impact-resistant housing, reinforced with steel inserts where appropriate. The access to all the internal parts is controlled by a hinged plate, which can be swung down for internal inspection and disassembly.
SCR-21 has no open sights. It is fitted with the standard Pi accessory rail on the top of the gun. The Standard sighting equipment for the SCR-21 series rifles (except for the SSCR-21 sniper rifle)a complicated and expensive optical reflex-type sight with the built-in laser pointer. For the night time operations the sight can be complemented with a compact night vision device.

http://monsite.wanadoo.fr/RanOfpFr2/images/4-picture3.gif

the RAR-04 is the last born , first 4th generation weapon in Rannyboy , which is as we speak getting issued to airborne and mechanized troops as main weapon
it's based on our past experience in matter of arms making , taking the advantages of both -02 and -03 assault rifles series
it is a cooperation work of all the Rannyboyan small arms firms
this gem is a 5.56x45 rifle using 30rounds NDP mag or 32rds composite materials mags (as pictured here) weights 3.9 kg all loaded
it has an inbuilt x2 optical sight but still has ironsights (under the optical ones)
it achieves good accuracy performances eventhough its barrel is short
its handguard is composed of 3 medium and 1 short accessory rails (hidden by plastic cover on the picture)
it is being fielded in reasonable number as we speak in Rannyboy's army as part of a complete overhaul process of our ground forces to reach the NDP standard
it is our main armament program as we speak due to its relatively high cost (1100 NUD/$)

it is expected in a few years to become a standard in NDP members' armies if they are interested in it

the RAR-04 is a light , sharp , evolutive weapon combining the past experiences of our national arms industries (quite limited , i agree) with foreign experiences

We're basically modern tech, except for these babies and a few more.

Blaster Pistol Model #1:
The generic blaster used in all law enforcement and military sections as a personal sidearm, currently replacing the Beretta 9mm formerly employed. It comes with a powerpack that can be recharged in your ordinary socket after 100 shots. Actually, all laser weapons come with the rechargable powerpack.
http://www.perpetrated.com/art/gun_blaster.gif
Notice it's based somewhat on an ordinary pistol, for nostalgic(sp) reasons.

M-16BR Blaster Rifle

http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/systems/ground/images/m16a2.gif
Looks like an ordinary M-16, right? Not! It's a heavily modified M-16BR Blaster Rifle with the optional addon grenade launcher (not pictured). Perfect for taking out those pesky stormies. 500 shots before recharging.

Magnum DL-44 Heavy Blaster (aka Blaster model #2)

http://www.moscroatia.com/enciklopedija/slike/m_heavyblaster.gif

Packs a bit more punch than a regular blaster as shown above. Can blast chunks off concrete(duracrete). 200 shots before recharging.

The JSA uses the most powerful assault rifle in the world*, the AR-22.
http://www.shootthemessenger.com.au/u_mar_98/film/st_1.jpg
Here, a JSA soldier fires a basic AR-22 during the JSA civil war
It holds 33 rounds of either teflon coated AP, hollow-point or full-metal jacketed .45 Long Rifle (actually 11x90mm) rounds. It can hold 2 additonal 32 round magazines on the sides.
An underbarrel .8 gauge shotgun hold 10 shells on a belt or in a box. Shell types are: lead slug, armor piercing slug, tungsten shot, high explosive fragmenting, inciendary, bean-bag and tear gas

The new-spec AR-22 main assault rifle.
JSA soldiers pride themselves on being able to wield a weapon of this wieght on the battle field as if it was lighter than an M-16A2, our previous std long rifle. The AR-22 is almost as lethal empty as it is will a full ammo load, it is so sturdy that it has bashed many skulls without so much as a scratch. The extra-long bayonet comes in handy as well.

A multi function laser/taclight sight that uses visible or ir light and IR laser and visible laser aimpoint is included in all std issue, as is a 3-6x zoom AGOG sight and strap. Removable foward grip is optional.

The sniper version of this rifle, which is basically the same as the std issue except for a 6-750x scope, a 22 shot straight mag, lack of full-auto fire mode, and removable shotgun is accurate at ranges up to 1,021 meters (current record with this rifle held by the top JSA sniper John ******) In full auto its rate of fire is 820 rounds per minute, prefered mode is multi burst which produces 330 rpm. There is also semi-auto mode and regular 3 shot burst mode. The shotgun can fire at full auto at aprox 240 rounds per minute or can be operated in single action pump mode to reduce recoil.

Also a squad automatic weapon version is now available. It holds a 40 round drum or a belt which feeds into a 400 round backpack or a 100 round hip pack. Its rate fire is 1000 rounds per minute, features a heavier, quick change barrel with vented barrel gaurds and a universal bipod/tripod/pintile mount. It can only fire in full auto and multi burst, and is slightly heavier.

The standard issue weapons for the Sketchian MI are:

The Mk 45 Pulsar Rifle

http://sivut.koti.soon.fi/villerainamo/MK50.jpg
picture courtesy of Clairmont's awesome site (http://sivut.koti.soon.fi/villerainamo/Index.htm).

This rifle uses gaussian coils to accelerate 5mm darts up to 2000 m/s, making it capable of penetrating up to 10mm of hardened steel at 1000 meters. Integral to the rifle is an underslung 30mm grenade launcher capable of firing any type of appropriately sized ordinance. The clip capacity for the primary ammunition is 100rds, while the secondary is 5rds.

Johnified America: geez your rifle uses rounds bigger than my Anti material sniper rifle!!! (with its rather nice 9x90mm ammo).

Anyway our standard rifle is the 6.25x43mm S1A3
http://www.meatballs.terminator.org.uk/crookfur/images/CFARS1A3.jpg
we also use the S7A3 which uses the same round
http://www.meatballs.terminator.org.uk/crookfur/images/S7A3.jpg

Our main infantry machine gun is our S5A3 SAW which again uses the 6.25mm round
http://www.meatballs.terminator.org.uk/crookfur/images/S5A3SAW.jpg

As mentioned all these weapons use our 6.25x43mm round. During a series of trials it was identified as being close to the optimum for an infantry round. The 6.25mm round offers performance equal to the larger 7.62 NATO round out to about 600m but with recoil and ammo weight very close to 5.56mm rounds.

Walmington's newest small arm. As yet sparingly issued and little understood, the Tripoli Pattern appears popular with troops the Tripper is reported to have out performed the Fox (WoS's first SMG), Sten Mk2, M1928A1 Thompson, and the most recent Axis gun that Walmington could get her hands on- an old Beretta M1918.

Ionised Beam Weapons

These ionise the air with two ultraviolet lasers, allowing electricty to pass through. Works like a very long range taser with more flexibility. Have multiple stun settings, and a kill setting. Also can short-circut electronics on metal vehicles. All come with production rights to the powerpacks, put in like a normal magazine. Pictures of the humanoid version are shown, but a version for any species is available upon request. We have machines that convert, based on blueprints and schematics of the firearm version and the Ionised Beam Weapon version, a firearm to an Ionised Beam Weapon. We use conversions as the primary weapons for our military. We only produce a few models (which are not for sale) of purpose-designed ionised beam weapons.

P-99 Conversion

A modified Walther P-99 serves and ionised beam pistol.

Has ten pre-set settings.

http://world.guns.ru/handguns/walther_p99.jpg

SA-80 Conversion

Our new primary assault rifle. Incorporates the long-asked-for integrated digital targeting camera, which previously was not built into the weapon, and soldiers wished for one that was integrated with the other controls and their combat suits. It also includes the manual control as well. Other minor improvements include:

 20 Pre-Set Settings, rather than 18
 Ergonomic Bullpup Design

It should also be noted that it does not suffer from the reliability problems the non-converted SA-80 does.

http://world.guns.ru/assault/l85a2.jpg

Ionised Beam Weapon OICW

A heavier rifle, typically only issued to a few members of the unit. Includes manual beam adjustment controls.

Benefits over the SA-80 conversion:

 Full targeting computer
 Integrated plasma grenade launcher
 25 Settings, rather than 20

http://world.guns.ru/assault/oicw.jpg

COST: 7,500 Paw Marks

Steyr TMP Conversion

A handheld unit that offers more variable settings and more power than a standard ionised beam pistol. It has 10 standard settings, but some limited manual control.

http://world.guns.ru/smg/steyr_tmp.jpg

COST: 550 Paw Marks

P90 Conversion

Used when firepower is needed inbetween a rifle and a pistol. Has 15 standard settings, and manual controls.

http://world.guns.ru/smg/fn_p90_2.jpg

L86A1 Conversion

Based on a light support weapon based on the SA-80, this is the standard GPMG for Feline forces. 20 Pre-Set Settings, and a full manual control system.

http://world.guns.ru/machine/l86a1.jpg

XM312 Conversion

The standard heavy machinegun for Feline Forces. 30 Pre-Set Settings, and a full manual control system.

Bonstock
22-11-2003, 03:29
Sniper Country was famous for telling us that our military was so large that it had to be "armed with pisols, wearing t-shirts and jeans." In Bonstock, there is compulsory service in the Reserves, who are generally armed with a "machine pistol." The MP 40 Schmeisser has been in service with Bonstock ever since Sniper Country's remarks. It's old, but we updated it, so it still works.

XR-2 (X-Rifle)

NOTE : PIC IS XR-1!! NOT XR-2!!!
http://defence-data.com/dsei99/sar21.jpg

Well, here it is, the XR-2, probably the best rifle ever! Lets start with the basics, 1st of all, its so compact its amazing. Note : The Pic is a non-modified version of the XR-1. The XR-2 has so many add-ons.

Internal Laser Gun Sight : As you can see in the picture of the XR-1, right under the scope and in the back of it is a laser gun sight in the XR-2. The Laser Gun Sight is connected into the internal of the gun, where a REMOVABLE, unlike the LGS, solar-charge JAXBattery is, and to recharge it, let it out in the sun for 1/2 an hour. The LGS goes as far as the scope.

Scope : The scope is now equipped with night-vision, which also uses the JAXBattery. It goes farther than normal snipers in the XR-2! (I couldnt come up with an exact) The scope has also been lowered, as we got complaints it was too high.

Firing Modes : The XR-2 has 3 firing modes. Single-shot. 3x Burst Fire. And Automatic. Automatic is the favored.

Stats :

Type : Assault Rifle
Manufacterer : JaxusismCorp
Cartridge - 5.75 flechette rounds
Length - look pic
Weight - extremely light
Barrel - look pic
Magazine - 42 rounds
Rate of Fire - 1075rds/min
Muzzle Velocity - 1000m/sec
Effective Range - About 1500 yards
Comes with an Attachable 40mm M203 grenade launcher for +$200
Cost : $2,000 + 200 for Attachable Grenade Launcher

Still the light gun you love, still coming with the attachable GL. Coming with LGS. Better scope. 3 firing modes. This is a MUST BUY.

You can buy it here, at JI² (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=98279)!

a lot of these weapons on display are not practical or rugged enough.

For example.....?
07-12-2003, 20:29
what use is a minigun in the majority of firefights, to get in a postion would mean exposure.
maintaining the weapon in the field will also be difficult.
Skibereen
08-12-2003, 05:07
Skibereen has just come out of a century of internal conflict, revolutionaries and terrorists, outside warlords, religious zealots, all competeing for power. So the weapons were pretty much as varied a the combatants. The most prolific firearm that was in use though, and what was adopted by the Skibereen military (because even a child can maintain it) is the AK-47, excellent range for urban combat, and fair knock down power. rugged and dependable. accuracy is not the hallmark of the cartridge or the rifling in the weapons barrel, but it fairs well enough to make the most prolific weapon globally.

maintaining the weapon in the field will also be difficult. The same cold be said about the M-240, the M-60, the M-2, the RPK, the MK19 Grenade machine gun, etc.
Its a heavy machine gun not a squad automatic weapon.

The HK G36 assault rifle. Additionally, in the event of an invasion of Copiosa Scotia, every infantryman will be issued a bayonet.

(This rifle may not have the best stats, but it's near the top for rifles that are actually practical in a battlefield situation.)
Viridis
08-12-2003, 05:32
Viridis' forces have as yet ne'er been to war. As such our weapons are presently only in a prototype stage. Most will be higher in calibre than current issue arms, so as to be effective against the foreseen rise in personal armour for infantry (so far only our elite squads are equipped with significant armour). Elite squads will also carry a rifle featuring a micro-computer controlled cooling and targeting/optics system. It doth currently use armour-piercing and fragmentation rounds.

The Salamadra Multi-purpose Rifle will be the machine gun of choice. Featuring two selectable magazine feeders and a chain-link feeder, it will prove most valuable against light to medium armoured targets, infantry and soft targets.

As an interim, we are using the AKS-74U Shorty (http://kalashnikov.guns.ru/models/ka118.html) assult rifle.

We do hope that the need for these weapons is unnecessary.

The bulk of the regular infantry uses the AK-74..... militia forces use older 47s..... squads can also carry flame throwers, mortars, or most usually SAWs (Squad Automatic Weapons). Beyond that, you get into what's used by the Special Forces, and of course that information is classified...

Auman's armed forces uses a rail assisted assault rifle. Half Rail Gun, Half Assault Rifle...all killy! I use a future tech nation. But there is nothing to high tech about my military! no sissy laser beams here! just good ol' fashion AK-74's with a little help from some magnetic rails.

Though since Im a martian nation the cartridges cant use black powder, but instead use a gel based charge that doesn't require oxygen to burn. Though, if the rifle didn't have to rail assist system the projectiles would only travel at sub sonic speeds. Though with the assistance of the rail system they travel at 8 times the speed of sound.

Our soldiers are allowed to use any weapon which accepts NATO 5.56mm (.223 Rem) 30 round STANAG mags and Special Forces use a modifed M-4 which fires 7.62mm AK-47 rounds and accepts the famous banana clip, we call it the SR-47 stoner

Sidearm can be any pistol which accepts the standard 15 shot 9mm Para clip or the .45 ACP 12 round clip.

You'd use a 9mm for your standard infantry weapon? You do realise that 9mm's don't penitrate armor well at all.

Actually, on unarmored targets, there are few better weapon than a 9mm SMG. It has low penitration, but impressive wounding skills on soft targets.

Mine is the M41a Pulse Rifle
