Wolmar Declared As "Prison Planet Colony"

Disclaimer: Yes, the nation I'm "derived" from *does* agree to this.

Wolmar, the small fringe world within the large Umojan sector of space occupied by Pergatorio (OOC:Pergatorio & I are related, and he offered a place in his system to me so I could start a space nation). The planet is roughly the size of a small moon, and was originally founded as an interplanetary settlement for prisoners from the capital world, Umoja.

Within the main-stream government back on the capital world of Umoja, dissenters against the Pergatorian iron fist and war machine were removed from the planet and forced to relocate and inhabit Wolmar. Constructed specially to house the prisoners at the time were several "prison-cities".

Gradually, descent became more common among those occupying Umoja. Eventually, military figures were being sent to Wolmar as prisoners for no longer supporting the Pergatorian iron fist. Even generals were being removed.

After time, Wolmar became populated. As the planet grew, there was a striving want to declare independance from the nation that had "fostered" the growth of the planet and it's society. When the people declared themselves independant to Pergatorio, the government turned a blind-eye and shrugged the event off. What was to be expected from a planet full of already dissenting ex-citizens? Wolmar was granted independence from Pergatorian rule from Umoja, and was set to it's own will. The Pergatorian prison gaurds were sent home.

When the people were free from Pergatorian reign, a democratic constitution mirroring that of the former United States of America was drafted by a group of colonists from each different social classification: poor, rich, military, civilian, ethnic, religious, and political viewpoints. After the new Wolmarian Constitution had been drafted, the first election was held by a crude process, leading to the election of exiled General D'Armand Shackler as Wolmarian president.

Since Wolmar has it's independence from being a prison planet, it wishes to open up it's trade borders to foreign nations throughout the vast expanses of space, and looks forward to future communications and peace with whoever may step forward.

Pax, Veritas

-General D'Armand Shackler
Elected President of Wolmar
