M-29 ATAR
Fully Compatible with M-16 Attachments (M-203, Bayonet, Scopes, etc.)
Based off of G-11-Fires very quickly in burst mode, so that the recoil usually doesn't affect the gun until after the 3rd round leaves the barrel
Uses 20, 30, or 60 round magazines of 4.5mm Caseless ammo.
$1000
M-68 Pararifle
A small, OICW like weapon, it combines a 4.5mm Carbine witha 20mm Caseless GL. However, the GL is a simple magazine fed semi-auto, allowing simple design and maintinance. 50 round magazines for the carbine, 6 round ones for the GL. Max range of 550 yds and 200 yds respectively.
M-29A2 and M-68A2
The USNE no longer uses the 4.5x30 round. We have begun using the USNE M6540 6.5x40mm Caseless round, availible in reverse ogives, SLAP, and other rounds types. However, a newer stronger propellant for caseless rounds has been developed, allowing less propellant to be used, so that size and capacity of magazines remains the same. The prices remain the same.
J-9 SMG
9mm ammo in a 72 round or 100 round "Calico" style drum magazine.
Fires single, 3 round burst, and full auto.
Uses HV-SLAP rounds for piercing armor, effective up to 360 yds.
J-76 Assault Rifle
The J-9s big brother, the J-76 fires caseless 7.62mm NATO rounds from a 100 round Calico drum magazine. Max effective range of 550 yds, and with it's .30 caliber bullets, it packs a punch.
M-37 Sniper Rifle
The M-37 is New Empire's premier sniper system. This weapon fires 7.62mm Armor-Piercing Fin-Stabilized Discarding Sabot ammo, which consists of a depleted uranium sub-caliber round that easily punches through armor, but all 7.62mm rounds are accepted in it's 10 round magazine. It also features a recoil absorbing stock and a gyrostabilized mount. However, the real beauty of this weapon is its targeting system. The "Full Sensing" version (The standard version with a 12x Zeiss is pictured, but the "full sensing" scope is pictured to the above left of the rifle.) is equipped with a full spectrum, computer controlled targeting system which offers unparalleled accuracy. This system can see through walls as well as detect therm-optic camouflage. The "Full Sensing" scope must be interfaced with the sniper. Effective range of 900 yds
$3000
MG49 Squad Machine Gun
Based on the legendary FN Minmi and MG-3 series MGs, the MG49 has it's reciever in a bullpup mount, and can accept both 50 round 7.62mm magazines and belts of ammunition. Comes free with a conversion kit to 5.56mm NATO rounds, and a 5x Scope. Max effective range of 700 yds
$1500
K-5 Gasium Armor
[An armored body suit usually custom compartmentalized for the wearer's specific needs (sown in holsters for specific weapons and pockets etc...). The K-5 is made to be worn with BDUs underneath. Despite its bulk this suit is incredibly light and has no encumbrance penalty. It offers protection from most small arms fire, shrapnel, and fire from head to toe and is covered with a special rubberized coating to prevent clash and clatter. The suit will be custom fitted and compartmentalized to whatever the wearer's demands may be.
$1500
The M-396 ORC Power Armor
(Shown without helmet, and at the end of it's short "dressing" procedure)
While some might consider this to be in the wrong section, the ORC is arguably the most effective and easy to maintain power armor on Earth. With the design so easy, it can be maintained by it's user, and a full suite of sensors, the ORC is the choice for someone who wants more for less when it comes to infantry armor. With advanced acuators, the ORC triples the users strength, and with advanced albatives, hybrid materials, and more, the ORC can withstand a .50 BMG round chest hit, and .44 Magnum fire almost anywhere else. The ORC's advanced helmet sensors include NVG, Enhanced Optic, and IR, as well as Acoustic Sensors to monitor even the softest footsteps. Speaking of footsteps, the feet and joints of the ORC are layered with a special rubberized coating to make their movements unhearable to the human ear. It can be equipped with anyweapon that can be held by a person, guarunteed. And with all these features, an average ORC on the battlefield only needs user-maintinace once every 2 weeks, and only once every month from a mechanic.

The EB-1C Vampire. Based on the philosophy of the EB-52 Megafortress, the EB-1C is a quick response air battle command aircraft, that sports advanced sensors and computer systems. The EB-1C can fly with only a crew of 2, through the use of a "vitrual crew" that stays at the airfield and controls and communicates via datalink. These men are responsible for managing any C3 and UCAV tasks. The primary task of the EB-1C is to coordinate air warfare, and provide a springboard for virtual crew operating the U/MF-5 StealthHawk Attack UCAV or U/MF-6 AirHawk Fighter UCAV. The "Virtual Crew" remain at base, or at another C3 post, and communicate and control any UCAVs the EB-1C may be carrying. The EB-1C, through the use of advanced techniques and systems, can actually deploy and retrieve UCAVs through it's 3 bomb bays with the aid of computer piloting. These UCAVs can be refueled and rearmed in the bays, and then sent off for another mission. Another unique aspect of the EB-1C is the "Smart Skin", thousands of microhydraulics under the skin on the fuselage that can adjust the fuselage slightly to create more lift, along with STOL engines, which allows the EB-1C to take off with it's wings swept back.

Honor Class Frigate
In a joint operation, the New Genoese Defense Department (NGDD) and the New Empire Military Projects Department (NEMPD) have announced the release of the "Honor" Class Frigate. Using a trimaran design, the Honor can hit 38 knots during the average weather (Recommended crusing speed in rough waters, or for maximum range on D/E is 20 knots), and uses underwater "thrusters" called azipods for sharp turns. It has a vitrually global range, due to it's Johannes/Cummings Pebblebed Reactor, a nuclear reactor that runs off a pebble with "onion" like layers of graphite and silicon wrapped around a fleck of uranium. Due to the layering, the uranium itself will never reach "melting temperature", and therefore, no run-away reactions. Helium coolant eliminates radiation leakage because helium can't transmit radiation. Backup consists of 2 diesel electric turbines.
WEAPONS-
9X4 cell VLS tubes. Used to launch a mix of SM series weapons, or Cruise missiles. Can be modified to fit your missiles.
2x8 cell tubes using the MAS-44 (Based of of Kh-35)
Guidance inertial guidance and active radar homing
Maximum range 230 km
Minimum range 5 km
Missile speed 580 to 500 metres per second
Altitude in cruise phase 10 to 15 metres
Altitude in terminal phase 3 to 5 metres
Missile launch weight 643 kg

6x tubes for 556mm torpedoes. Recommended-STAS-6 ASROC Supercavitating Torpedo. Has capability to travel 1 mile in 1 second.
Has room for 1-2 ASW Helicopters (Or VTOLS for you future people) depending on size.
DEFENSIVE SYSTEMS-
ECM, ECCM
SRBOC Mk 36
AN/SLQ-12 Nixie torpedo decoy
Sea Gnat
2 RAM Launchers
Also, the "Honor" utilizes the "Athena" system, which identifies incoming radar waves, and sends out the proper signals to cancel them out. The ship is also coated with a layer or Radar Abosorbent Material.
FIRE CONTROL
The "Honor" Class Frigate uses the USNE MK VII "PuppetMaster" FCS. Each weapons system has it's own node, which can track up to 40 enemy ships or missiles at the same time. The node for the RAM systems can track up to 200 missiles of various sizes. The MK VII can also be linked to other MK VII ships, allowing them to coordinate attacks, and increase the awareness of the crew to threats.
Crew- The Honor's optimal crew is 95, including 2 ASW Helo teams, due to the automation of many systems.
Cost-$820 Million

There are many other weapons, but most are classified, or foreign.

The Technologies and Terms-

"DELTA SIERRA" - DS- Military slang for being in bad trouble or deep sh*t. Used in com traffic frequently. Diffusion complete. Accepted.

"ACTIVE DEFENSES" - Active defenses became a vital part of defense design and strategy in new vehicle production and older vehicle upgrades. Whereas defense had long relied on passive techniques (armor thickness, armor material, armor slope angle, etc.), active defenses were tasked with stopping the attack BEFORE it could impact or affect the target vehicle. Passive defenses only worked AFTER impact, and with the increases in the effectiveness of weapons technology and lethality, passive defenses began to be taxed to their technological limits. Even reactive armor, designed to defeat shaped charge rounds, was still a passive defense. What was needed was pro-active defenses, defenses that protected the vehicle from all aspects and degrees. The eggheads had a field day while the bean counters got sick. Active defenses included variable modulated pulse electronic counter measures systems, countermeasure dispensers, remote command detonated 'belts' of plasticeramic mines that girded the vehicle's hull (good for AP use and to knock down snakes, RPGs, and other man portable armor breakers), interceptors (dedicated PGM hunter killers), and of course, PDS Point Defense Systems.

"MIKE FOX PAPA"- Slang used to mean 'Most F**king Pronto' or immediately!, post haste!, right now!, or preferably yesterday! Accepted. Diffusion into ranks complete. Origin unknown. Isolated also into "MFP"

"CHARLIE KILO"- 'CK', military term for confirmed kill. Diffusion complete, standard as accepted.

"MOHO"-Slang for MObile HOwitzer. Shared among ranks and divisions.

"NOVEMBER FOX" - NF, Non-Functional. Term used to describe hardware that is off line or enemy units which need to be removed from operations. Usually said as an exclamation or appears in orders as displayed command affirmatives.

SLICS- Squad Level Integration and Countermeasures System- ("Slicks")-The SLICS was a complex system of squad level LOS and indirect networking among the high performance tactical computers that were part of each infantry battledress. The SquadNet integrated each individual MI battledress equipped soldier into a operational unit and doctrine solution that was greater than the sum of its individual parts. Utilizing SLICS, an entire squad of battledress equipped soldiers could function as one greater effective unit, instead of as many lesser effective individual units. What one soldier knew or could see, sense, smell, detect, the entire squad knew equally well. All information from one suit or soldier was instantly available to every other member of the squad. Hand off of munitions was done flawlessly between individual soldiers, and with the squad dedicated tactical drones, SLICS and SquadNet became indispensable additions to USNE units. Entire squad level coordination of point defense against indirect fire munitions and TAC missiles was coordinated through each suit's microprocessors, giving instant information to the entire squad. SLICS also worked to integrate the EMS of the squad into one homogenous source, working to blend the squad into the background and 'phase' it out of enemy targeting systems reach. Suit emissions were carefully monitored by the SLICS and individuals were electromagnetically 'bled' selectively to match their backgrounds at a constant rate, monitored both locally by the individual suits which 'buddy checked' each other several hundred times a second, to the remote tactical drones which did 'removed' views of the squad to make sure that no EMS spikes were readily visible to the enemy. Target reference and engagement, target spotting, and integration into the mass of data which made up the USNE military doctrine became the norm. The entire squad worked flawlessly and seamlessly as one mobile unit, pooling resources and operating on a squad level instead of a individual level as had been the case before SLICS. Efficiency went up dramatically, as combat losses decreased.
The SLICS system, amazingly, is little more than a 1 pound, 1 inch thick 3x4 inch computer built into the armor or vest of a soldier. It is linked to the helmet for visual input.

THEDOT- Tactical High Energy Destruction Of Target- THEDOT is the military acronym for high energy tactical laser weaponry and its application to static defense (Or mobile defense/offense,or arsenal) of military, industrial, political, religious, and civilian centers or vehicles.
Since lasers travel at the speed of light, and a low power laser beam can be used to 'paint' a target or 'range' a target, once the beam is on the target, the matter of stepping up the amperage and feed to the beam was just a simple switch away. The doctrine went like this. "Put THEDOT on the target, and the target goes away." THEDOT systems were computer controlled and targeted, relying on redoppler micropulse radar and later modulated ladar / madar for target acquisition. Early THEDOT systems were simple emplaced turrets, but were also mounted on aircraft, ships, tanks, AFVs, and UCAVs.

EMS- Electro Magnetic Spectrum- a wide range of emissions generated by 'modern' fighting vehicles and even power armor equipped infantry. The EMS spectrum was scanned for 'artificial' signals that did not occur normally as background radiation from the sun, from the Earth's magnetic poles, etc. Anything out of the ordinary (i.e. not occurring naturally in nature) could be tagged as a target. Target emissions and documentation was included in every database onboard a vehicle. Discrepancies were easily identified, and then correlated based on known information on a unit by unit basis.

Robotic Automatic Intelligent Loader Systems- RAILS- The RAILS was the key to making armored vehicles more compact and thus more survivable on the 21st century battlefields. The traditional 'stumbling block' to armored vehicle design had always been the crew position of 'loader'. The crew member who operated as the loader for the main weapon had to stand in order to operate effectively, and this meant that the design of the armored vehicle had to incorporate a standing man (usually two meters in height was design doctrine) into the design, vastly cutting down on the available designs and increasing vehicular height (and thus tactical visual signature). With the advent of robotic automatic intelligent loader systems, the position of 'loader' was replaced with a compact, dependable system that took up twice the volume, but half the height. Interior horizontal volume was easy to adjust to, and with the advent of a lower vehicle silhouette, tactical survival took a huge step forward. The RAILS system (as Combine doctrine termed it) was a simple multi-capacity computer controlled mechanical assembly. Voice or remotely operated, it worked closely with both the crew and the onboard to carry out its assigned duty. The commander (usually also the 'gunner' of a vehicle) could instruct the RAILS system by voice on what type of cartridge or shell to load into the dedicated weapon system. Multi-feed systems were managed by linkless feed high speed cassettes and chute type delivery. Powered assemblies and arms simply moved one ammo feed chute from the action, and moved another to replace it, all in a second or less. High speed servos gave truly tremendous rates and volumes of fire for weapons that would have normally have been 'disadvantaged' by a human loader who could suffer from many combat disadvantages such as fatigue and fear. The RAILS system never slowed down, never got tired, never dropped a live round into the fighting compartment, never loaded the 'wrong' round, and never complained of the operating conditions near the weapon. The first production series of RAILS had its problems, but after initial shakedown, the system was widely welcomed by vehicle crews (except the out of work 'loaders' who suddenly either had to train for one of the other vehicle positions, or be assigned to infantry slots...). On average, the RAILS system alone lowered AFV silhouettes and outlines by a good full meter! Targets that are lower to the ground are harder to hit, easier to hide in defensive positions, and are far more survivable in a tactical situation.

Point Defense Systems (PDS)- Survival of an armored vehicle on the 21st century battlefield required many facets of operation and defense. Electro Magnetic Spectrum (EMS) search and scan made it very hard to hide a vehicle or anything remotely powered from detection. Countermeasures already included ECM, ECCM, variable construction armor, better armor materials, hybrid armor designs, speed, thermal baffling, sound baffling, sound imitation, etc. One of the types of defenses introduced during the 21st century was the Point Defense System, an 'active' type of defensive countermeasure which used a high speed projectile firing weapon (usually an autocannon of some kind or type) to target and destroy missiles, artillery projectiles, rockets, rocket grenades and the occasional inconvenient infantry unit automatically. The best known of the PDS systems was the "Phalanx" PDS used by the USNE. The Phalanx PDS was a fast-reaction, (VRF) very rapid-fire 8 millimeter electrically driven tri-barrel 'gatling' gun system. Early pre-21st century Phalanx systems were large, bulky, and provided old 20th century United States Navy ships with a terminal defense against anti-ship missiles that had penetrated other fleet defenses. The first generations of Phalanx were designed to engage anti-ship cruise missiles and fixed-wing aircraft at short range. The Point Defense System (then also known as the CIWS Close In Weapon System or Sea-Whiz (C-Wis)) automatically engaged functions usually performed by separate, independent systems such as search, detection, threat level evaluation, target acquisition, target track, weapon firing, target damage assessment, target destruction confirmation, kill assessment, next target detection and / or cease fire.

HyVeloc- HYper VELOCity- Experimental armor piercing, general purpose round, capable of extreme armor penetration with terminal velocity in excess of six klicks or more a second! The HyVeloc round was an artificially manufactured kinetic energy armor penetrator (KEAP) with a hyper alloy penetrator core computer designed for superior flight characteristics and maximum target damage.

Newer, costlier HyVeloc rounds had a velocity in excess of 8kmps, and as such, generated enough heat through air friction alone to burn off a good 1mm worth of round diameter! Thus the round left the barrel of the weapon as a 10mm diameter round, but when it arrived on target, it was only 9mm in diameter, friction having ablated the other 1mm of diameter. It was common for HyVelocs to burn up in the end phase of their trajectories. Specialized versions of the round existed, the most common being the KEAPER (Kinetic Energy Armor Piercing Exploding Round) which had a stabilized explastic warhead located behind the penetrator core. Upon penetration of the target, the nanotimer would detonate the explastic and spray the inside of the target with lethal shrapnel from the shell case. KEAPER rounds quickly incapacitated vehicle crews or onboard electronics. With the advent of the new armor types and materials, old style kinetic energy penetrators were much less effective, as were traditional HEAT type rounds that relied on the Monroe principle plasma jet to burn through armor. BPC armor was very good at shrugging off heat and blast, both of which the old style Monroe principle HEAT rounds depended on to do their jobs.

ETPR- Electro Thermal Propelled Round- Most modern armored fighting vehicles switched over to ETPR weapon technology with the advent of the KAF-90E. Where cannon and other such weapons had for centuries relied on a chemical reaction of propellants (CPR) to force a round toward the target, the ETPR used a simple medium (mostly water though some specialized propellant fluids existed). The fluid was injected into the action, behind the round, and a high capacity electrical current was activated, instantly flashing the fluid to a plasma state, and projecting the round down the barrel on a plasma shock wave. The ETPR was a much 'softer' launch of the round than a CPR weapon could provide, and as such, guns went from high velocity to hyper velocity rather quickly. The velocity of the round could be tailored by adjusting the propellant and the electrical charge, thus a hyper velocity shot might be done at full power to engage a target within LOS (line of sight) while a lower power charge and less propellant might be used to 'throw' a round over a hill in an indirect fire type mode. KEAP type rounds were never used in indirect fire support, but the later self targeting self forging (STSF) penetrators were.

Athena- The earliest and one of the biggest technologies ever developed by the USNE.
The F-117, the B-2, the F-22. All stealth. All able to outwit radar systems.
But these aircraft were not agile, not as heavy hitting. Not as cheap as the average aircraft. Then there came Athena, in the F-98. An agile fighter, well armed, fast, affordable, and stealth. But how could it reach that performance? Athena. The radar waves are detected by Athena, and its raw data is put through a super conductive, liquid cooled computer. Then, the computer supervises and orders the release of out of sinc waves from tiny antennas under the planes surface. This effctively eliminates the radar signal, as in no return.
What about the scatter effects? Radar A transmits it, radar B receives it?
The computer knows the characteristics of the plane it is 'protecting'. It therefore emits the proper amount of energy in the right directions. Highly sucessful, nearly impossible to detect, and proudly serving many nations through the F-98, F-106, and F-109 aircraft, as well as the UM/F-6 UCAV and Imitoran F-18H Yellow Jacket.

Omz- Yep. I put it at around 2040... Some parts higher, some lower. But the key is for my tech- The necessary elements must exist or be in planning for the near future. So if you see something here, chances are you can read about something similar in Popular Science or something. But no nanocrap, uber ion/particle/antimatter/death ray beams, anti-grav (But there are hover craft, the kind with fans and cushions. Maybe you've heard of them, newbies)

People-
The Kessler Family-
Probably the longest reaching millitary family in the nation. Kesslers were first recorded fighting in 1495 during the war between the Old Empire and the Northern alliance. However, no real information on
Michael Kessler, 1900-1949
The son of Hans and Mary Kessler, this boy grew up hoping to be a soldier like his father. At the age of 19, he joined the Auerstadt Army, and was assigned to the 24th Infantry. In an age of machine guns, automatic weapons, and little protection for the soldier, Kessler shined as a Lieutenant, gaining the nickname in the Auerstadt-Frisia war "Clever B*stard." He was, by the "official" start of the war in 1929, a Brigadier General. His infantry forces, armed well with the new Smithen&Heston Automatic Carbines, revolutionary weapons for their time, were notorious for flanking and outmanuvering the enemy, as well as being sneaky and well hidden. Thus came the moniker "Kessler's Weasels." By this time, he married Louise Fersmann, and had a child, Samuel, in 1939. He rose to the rank of 5 Star General by 1940, but was diagnosed with a terminal cancer 1 year later. He fought even harder, determined to reunify Auerstadt and Frisia if it was the last thing he did. It was.
On May 26th, 1949, the morning after the Frisia Accords reuniting Auerstadt and Frisia, he died in his sleep.
Samuel Kessler 1939-1992
Faced with his father dying when he was 10, and his mother at age 13, Samuel was taken in by his Uncle's family. He graduated at the top of his class at Auerstadt University, but felt compelled to join the military. At age 24, he was accepted into the Frisia Military Academy. While older than most, he once again excelled. Climbing up to 4 star General during the reunification war, he commanded men in every battle of the war, until it's end at 1989. He then worked on the modernization og the military, and it's politics until his death in 1992.
Deunan Kessler 2010-
Most thought the Kessler bloodline would end it's excellence with Samuel, with the only child under the name being a little girl named Deunan. But it had not. She was among the earliest women to get a frontline command at age 19. She did, however, join the Marine Corps, instead of the Army. As a Major during the transition to the APTO, she learned to master the electronic battlefield and adapt to working with the APTO nations. This was put to the test in 2041 when her unit spearheaded the assault on G-corp, arguably the most sucessful assault in the nation's history. She later advanced to Marine 5 star general, where she stands today.
OOC-More later.
