A city park in chilly London Minor, Walmington-

"Jesus, look at that.." Groaned a Walmingtoner spitting as he endured his last holiday before the impending draft. "..Apart from a raw potato that's the only solid to have passed my lips in the past sixty hours, I must be ill."

"They're selling them for about thirteen pence each on the international market now. It's insane."

"What?" Came the bemused reply.

"Potatos."

"Oh."

And that pretty much summed up how Walmington felt.

My nation is cautious in investing too much in potatoes, due to past incidents, such as the Irish Potato Famine...

Potatoes, bananas, it could happen to the best of 'em. The key to avoiding famine in such a situation is in not being subservient to a more powerful neighbour which may feel incined to continue exporting your truthfully substantial food reserves.

Yeah but then you need a stapler to fight with stables and that costs more then potatoes.

You have a point, but here's a low cost replacement for the stapler- the Pencil Sharpener!

These things are cheap, easy to grow from the ground, and they make a great meal when rubber bands are put on the side.

I like potatoes but i'm not going to spend my nation's money on it.
21-11-2003, 19:53
