The ANL is making public today of it's deal with Gradenk to build a anti-WMD defence system to balance out the power difference, since the ANL is a still a small nation and has banned WMDs within all ANL territory. The High Chief Quetzalcoatl gave this speech just minutes ago on the balcony of the captial.

"My dear comrades! Today is the beginning of an new high tech era of protection for the people. We have made a deal with the honorable nation of Gradnek to assist us in the completion of an anti-WMD defence nation. Although we will not use any WMD because our beliefs tha we have in fighting and in war do not allow it allow it, does not mean other nations will not stockpile them, and use them. Although we are on good terms with all nations and hope to remain on good terms with all, we need a line of defence that will hopefully protect us from nuclear weapons. I have been able to get the price down, so you do not need to fear a cut back in social services."

May it be noted that this project is a joint venture operation between a socialist nation and a captialist nation.

The Empire of Gradenk believes in co-operating with nations of different ideologies. We're a neutral nation and thus though we can only gain by having diplomatic relationship with as many nations as possible.


The Empire Gradenk confirms this joint Venture that will allow ANL to protect themselves.


The venture in question is actually a Nework of satellite Grid that will have weapons to destroy offending ICBMs, Nuclear missiles and other weapons capable of carrying WMDs into ANL's territory.The Satellite Grid is currently in service in Gradenk. This satellite grid is only for defensive purpose and can not be used to attack another nation. The satellite is outfitted with high yield laser that amongst it's array of weaponry to detect and destroy the incoming threat. In simulation tests, The missile is projected to have a success rate of 96 %. We only tested it once on a dummy missile and it worked like a charm. The Satellite Grid can detect and destroy missiles / ICBMs / other high yield weapons capable of carrying conventional or WMD warheads ) from 10 000 miles away. The capacity of this range can be upgraded and this would be upgraded in stages with ANL's engineers.

Impressive. This should be a great achivement for our nations. We are glad that this looks promising and that this project is now offical. I hope this project goes well, no not well, great.

OOC: Isn't a single test a little pre-mature to call it a success? I would of thought you would want multiple tests on various system in various conditions so as to be sure that you can intercept them.

OOC: Yup I concur. We did most of it on simulation. Officially, our test is only on one dummy missile...but unofficially we did test on several dummy missiles.

Why I say officially and unofficially cause our media was getting edgy about our missile defense grid( after a leaked memo to the press ). We had to play down the effect and thus "officially " we have only one test. Our tests are actually ongoing . To date we have done about 50 tests..In most cases, about 48 of them were successfully intercepted. 2 missiles did penetrate.

Simulation wise, We tested our system on a worse possible scenario by having 700 missiles of various yield heading towards us. We did shoot 96 % of it and the remaining of it did get through but caused various degree of damage. In lieu of the danger of the remaining 4 % . Contingency measures are currently being worked on to deflect those missiles that managed to penetrate to the desert region of Gradenk.

There is most definatly a way to make this system even more effective, although a 96% efficency rate is pretty good. We have allocated titanium aluminum and steel along with plastics and other materials and have our best scienstists and most up to date labratories ready to commence the project.

That would be good. Gradenkian Scientists would work alongside with your scientists to make good use of this system.
