Today they heads at M-HQ annonced the development of a crude arm controled only through the subjects thougts. Mr. Dnelufwa, Chairman of Mikosolf states, "We could not have done it without the generous donations of both Calcednie and GEC." He further states that by this closing quater (ooc: thurs-fridayish) the tecnology should be in protoype form and ready to begin production of the first three M-1 Ambush. Weapon and armor details are spotty but reports have been given of two or more 50 caliber machine guns are to be used. When asked what these new weapons would do to the modern war Dnelufwa replies, "No comment."

I thank you all for your generous donations of man power and economic fuel (money). With the added support of CorpSac and Tration (as well as the pat on the back from Verdant Circles) we estimate to be finish design of the MkII Predator, with (we hope) improved interface and actual implants instead of just tapping the nerves as in the M-1 Ambush. Armaments (4x 50 caliber machine guns) and defense capabilities are thought to remain the same, unless armor better than laminated front, side and top armor behind Kontakt-5 ERA whose front rating is vs APFSDS: 550 mm + 250-280mm with Kontakt-5 = 800-830mm and vs HEAT: 650 mm + 500-700mm with Kontakt-5 = 1,150-1,350mm. The walker chaisie with stablized pads uses the natural balance of the pilot to remain upright can reach speeds of 50MPH + depending on pilot and functional on all terrain. Furthermore, all participants (even those whom recieved the M-1) will be given the first models off the lines of the MkII as well as the upraded version of the software powering both the MkII and M-1, MMI v1.0 to v1.5, fixing serval minor flaws and increasing effiency by .5%.

Topic: Interface issues, response time and fine control.
Summary: While gross manipulation of mechanical parts has been achieved relatively rapidly, further studies have found that individuals rarely improve substantially even given an abundance of practice time. It appears that the ability to communicate effectively with devices is not an easily controlled process. Two potential solutions are suggested: (1) developing a genetic solution that encourages appropriate neuron responses to the electrical impulses from the machines and (2) Training of subjects while very young to mould the response pathways while the mind is more malleable. Additional Calcednian teams have been added to various aspects of this project as we attempt to make this a reality.

Topic: Sensory interfaces
Summary: Direct perception of the output of electrical sensory devices is proceeding rapidly, with a few subjects having near successes. Slight refinements may be sufficient before the implantation of advanced photoreceptors becomes possible. Additionally, other types of sensory devices may be possible, though work remains to be done on how to convince the brain to process this unfamiliar information. Specifics on the process used are discussed, as well as further directions to be taken to guarantee unmitigated success.

Summary: The ability of the human brain to effectively use mechanical, sensory, and electrical enhancements is intimately dependent on its ability to process information received from these parts. While genetic 'software' may be an optimal long-term solution, recent work in this lab suggests that much of the processing could be done in the part itself, and the data transformed into messages the brain is capable of comprehending. While not as efficient nor as complete as modifying cerebral performance to do these analyses, it is a more likely accomplishment in the near future, and thus more practical in the short-term. Use of sophisticated devices with many integrated parts will depend intimately on the mind's ability to process and understand all the incoming information. Some theoretical results are presented, as are some preliminary studies into these areas.

also we wish not to use this for war but for inderstry useing a minds to control machines. our major research into this will be mainly directed at an internet interface so people can "jack in" and use there minds to use it.

I thank you all for your replies on the progression on research. To address Calcednie's concern that research if proceeding far to quicky we here are Mikosolf would like to say the models are no where near completion, as you said, only gross control has been accomplised in the prototypes, making them effective, but a far cry the later models will allow. We would like to state any indication given about the competion date of the MkII Predator is merely a first stage prototype, where as the M-1 Ambush allready has 50 working prototype models with another 100 still in the construction stage. The MkII will incorrperate much more advance systems and fire control than the M-1, but as stated above, still in fragmented model form. We hope to begin mass production of the M-1 ASAP using current avalability while the MkII should incorperate the much more advance features as stated in the copyright. Any numbers given about the MkII are working models and theories.

As to the virtual prison, yes quite an interesting possibility. Furthermore, we hope the 'net runner' software can help further the M-1 design into the MkII.

RE: AI enhanced multitasking implants

Type: Biochip Implants w/ pseudo-nanotech capabilities
Theory: increasing multitasking capabilities of MMI enhanced subjects

Current findings -
Researchers at USST epistemological laboratories have been working on a project that would increase the miltitasking capabilities of the human brain using a sub-AI chipset in conjunction with developing MMI technologies.
From a military application standpoint, subjects have been found to be able to run multiple trajectory and targeting systems simultaniously while still maintaining full concentration on at hand combat simulations.
This is thought to effectivly decrease the amount of personel required to pilot vehicles and will increase a augmented soldier's effectivness anywhere from 2-5 times that of an unaugmented soldier.

It must be understood that this project is an offshoot from a similar augmentation that has been implemented in our medical and manufacturing industries with remarkable success.

Current setbacks:
The augmentation comes with a risk of severe brain damage from neural overload. In simulations where the test subject has exceeded the recommended time limit of active multitasking, there is a exponential increase in the possibility of complete cognitive shutdown. Other side-effects are still being researched.

Dear Contributors,
You have all done excellent jobs at applying this new born tecnology into use full tools and programs. I wish to give special credit to Tration for the multi-tasking AI chip, this could prove invaluable in many indevors, creating a one man opperated construction facility, one pilot operating several vehichls at once and so on. Furthermore, I wish to welcome Nazi Egypt into this project.

Also, we here at Mikosolf have been toying with weapon and armor systems of the M-1 Ambush prototypes. Our boys down in R&D have deveoled a niffty little device that increase range and power of the Mikosolf Duel-50s. By utilizing the recoil, into a system looking somewhat like this >, energy is transered from the fired gun into the about to fire gun, giving it a sight starting speed. Also, we are looking into a modified arm, instead of utilizing the 50 caliber machine gun a 'bazooka' or two would be mounted instead for the anti-vehichular form. All is quite on the armor front however, if anyone can contribute to that effect it would be greatly appreciated.

Finally, what good is a walker with out a way for them to traverse open sea. This is why we assigned one of out subsideary corperations to design a Walker Carrier/Landing Craft to bring them unto enemy shores.

our boys down in R&D worked long hours and have begun designed a new armor mesh/composit. Using several layers of combination depleted uranium, steel mesh, and highly heat conductive metals to create an armor that is not only light but able to take a shell and not only to survive the damage but to minmize heat by spreading it through the body. This is still on the drawing boards, however, but we have great hope in this design.

Project: Genetic Interface 'Software'
Status: Complete
Description: Novel genes were constructed and inserted into stem cell lineages, which were then developed into grey matter in vitro. This material was then artificially grafted into subjects brains. Subjects were able to outcompete unmodified control groups in the processing of received data and in interface dynamics with machine components. Said genes have been inserted into a subset of the Calcednian genetic pool on the Chairman's orders. It is believed that in individuals who inherently have the genes, performance will be again greatly increased.

Project: Mind-Machine Data Processor - MMDP
Status: Prototype complete/in production
Description: The nature of much machine information is unparsable by the human brain without considerable effort. Further, while the brain is a high performance parallel processor, its ability to do floating point arithmetic is far exceeded by conventional computers. The MMDP helps translate data transmissions into intelligible form, and performs relevant arithmetic operations. It has a few hundred neural connections, and can transmit and receive data from the mind. Further, it translates mental input into machine commands for efficient operation of the hardware. Surgical procedures required to install.

Project: Neural Network Link - NNL
Status: Prototype complete
Description: A surgical implant near the base of the braincase, it feeds digital data into the mind as a visual image. An external plug allows for connection of the mind to networks, including the internet, with full capabilities. The device also translates digital data transfers into memory components and stores them securely in the organic neural network (brain).

Project: Automated System Software
Status: Completed, in production
Description: MMI requires not only appropriate interfaces at the human end, but also at the machine end as well. Automated System Software is a template program easily adaptable to any electrically controlled system. The versatile program is trained by the user, and adapts itself to the attached hardware, improving efficiency asymptotically over time. Two weeks of intensive training is more than adequate for combat purposes.

Project: Multitasking by Neural Grouping - MNG
Status: Prototype in testing
Description: An improvement of the MMDP, this chip implements hard-coded software that allows specification of a neural network size for a particular problem. It initiates a search of the brains neurons, and when it locates a group of idle neurons of sufficient size it deligates out the task at hand to that group of neurons. The algorithm is quite fast, and the chip can handle 32 queries per second. A second chip receives processed data returned to the MMDP and separates multiple streams of data to facilitate interpretation.

Project: Direct Sensory Input
Status: Prototype complete/in production
Description: Surgical procedure which makes possible the direct attachment of electronic sensing devices to the mind, including data types not generally received directly into the brain, such as infra-red light.

Project: Manipulation of Remote Unmanned Craft - MRUC
Status: in testing
Description: Using standard remote communication methods (radio, laser), a person can control a vehicle or other piece of machinery using previously described methods. Further, sensory data from the machines themselves are transmitted back to the operator. In theory, operation of multiple vehicles is possible with the new MNG.

Calcednie would like to additionally comment that we have been unsuccessful in getting anything as complicated as a walker to behave effectively in combat testing, and recommend the continued use of standard wheeled and treaded vehicles for combat purposes. Further, walkers are too fragile, as a single hit from a main battle cannon will at least overturn (mission kill) the walker, if not irreparably damage sensitive and insufficiently protected components.

our first Netrunner has been sucessfuly intergarted into the CorpSac HQ security systems and is working at 87%. The netrunner was grown in a Classified Lab after the first set of test the Netrunner named Mayling showed a 97% abbilty in controling the new V-NET (virtual-net) what will be relised worldwide in new year. the securilty systems in HQ were tested by an elite team after they entered the building they were caputured by CCTV and picked up on the 2nd Floor. Mayling did a scan of the building and found the dummy Bomb planted.
