Auction of Major Island
The tiny, minute island of Major Island, about one sqare foot in size, is being auctioned. It is so far from my nation, I think you'd like it more than me. Starting bid is 50 cents.
Seeing that it is in the middle of an ocean with no other islands for miles, we bid 75 cents for it. It would make a nice place for exiles.

I've never won any. I always get outbidded by smaller countries who have "acquired" more money than most countries get before 1bill people, or by countries with over 1 billion people. Hence I tend to give up at 1trillion....

Background info on Major Island
Major Island is named after Major Michael Smith (now president) when he accidentally dropped a large pile of dirt from his helicopter and an island formed. Since then (about 30 years ago; remember that Michael is now 40, but the nation of Nanakaland was in suspended annimation for 10 years), the ocean gradually eroded Major Island until it is what it is today. It was decided to be auctioned because the country didn't use it.
