The Holy Empire of Ebi is currently planning to research the human mind as a weapon. There are parts of the brain that are said to not be used. The Holy Empire of Ebi wishes to research and find if these areas can be, "unlocked," and if so, what the results will be thereof.

Currently we are wondering what other countries would be willing to donate funds and/or personnel (scientists, voluntary test subjects, et cetera) to our cause.

I am very interested in this; I'll contribute what I can.

What can you contribute and also who from Yuushi am I communicating with?

We trust that if you send test subjects they will all be voluntary and not use our nation's research as a form of punishment for your citizens.

You should probably test on rats or an animal species by trying to control their brains to do something... then if its possible on animals it can be done on humans (most likely)...

For this I will be a major contributor by giving 100 million USD annually for the project. I can raise funds if the project shows some promise. I will also contribute 10 of the nation's top scientists.

Although animals were originally considered, we thought that the results would be inconclusive due to the fact that the human mind, with its ability to use reasoning, would differ drastically from the mind of animals. We ask for voluntary test subjects for this reason.

Yes I have plenty of willing participents for the tests, being Samurai they're willing to do whatever their lord asks of them. You're speaking to the Shogun Musashi Ieysu, the ruler of Yuushi.

OOC: Dun worry, who said this was gonna work, and on top of that, it's not like we'd get it right right off (gotta have a few people die, go mad, et cetera) or it may not even give the desired results. I'm not ruining what I have in mind for it though :D

The 10 scientist arrived at the Ebi International Airbort in their buisness suits, all with their special suitcases. Behind them came 50 servants with the luggage. The aircraft was especially labaled Luftwaffe with the Macabean eagle (see flag if you want).

Oh yea, the living quarters do not have to be perfect. Our scientist are used to preforming in even dismal places.

Hm I can send over about 250 participents at this time, if you need more I'll need a little while.

Hmm... sounds very interesting. One of our biggest corporations, ColaCola Co., is interested in using this technology as a marketing weapon to "encourage" people to buy their product. They have contributed 500 million to you. Our government contributes 250 million to you.

ColaCola will get back to you about providing test subjects. They are currently recruiting focus group participants.

Having weighed up the costs and benefits of the research, Moontian has decided to send a delegation of 50 geneticists and neuroscientists, and all 1632 criminals in its prisons. 200 million belles, provided by the Tritonite government, has also been included for the research into human minds.

Added to the list of supporting nations is Moontian and Calcednie. Their support is greatly appreciated, although the Moontian prisoners will be asked to volunteer for the assignment upon their arrival. Refusal to volunteer will mean they will be placed in prison in Ebi and must work off their debt to society through means of hard labor. If they do volunteer then they will be tested on in the most humane way possible, although it is hard to tell what the experimentation may do to them.

Jake Berenson (got that name from Animorphs) is a boy of 16 years of age. He has brown hair, brown eyes, a strong (but not football-size) build, and a green lightsaber (if you accept it). He heads towards the plane that will take him to the nation of Ebi. The mission? To show the scientists there the possibility of mindpower. As he boards the plane, he says goodbye to his parents and Master, and hello to his first solo mission. It will take a few hours to get to the nation.

Ebi, I propose that my samurai guard this incoming Berenson. Such a dangerous individual should not be left to his own devices. My samurai are more than capable of handling him should the need arise.

Musashi, do not worry about this Berenson. His lightsaber will be placed in safe keeping upon his arrival to our land.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe samurai used to teach similar teachings. Ok, the lightsaber will be given up for safekeeping, but it will have to be returned promptly upon departure. OOC: There is a limit to how much a Jedi could seize secrets from minds. He will have to actively 'attack' the mind (mind tricks) in order to do so. It never happens passively. You have nothing to fear, paranoid nation.

Inside a bright white room in a large building within one of Ebi's military bases experiments are being performed on five hundred the moontian prisoners.

Ebian walks into the room and over to the chief scientist.

"How far have our studies progressed? I wish to inform my supporters," Ebian says to the chief scientist.

"Studies have been going quite well," [i]the scientist replies to Ebian. "We have found that they are able to harness some sort of energy from the air around them. It is similar to the ability of those that are said to harness chi, but on a much larger level. Some have developed the ability to use telekinesis, moving objects with their mind, some even able to speed up the very atoms of an object to the point of causing it to spontaneously combust due to the added friction! Yes, things are progressing very well indeed."

"Thank you, I will pass this information onto my supporters," Ebian says before turning to leave the room.

"Send copies of this video to all of our supporters," Ebian says to the cameraman before the video cuts out.

Jake idly lifts random objects in his room to keep up his TK strength. Even if his lightsaber is elsewhere for safekeeping (i guess it is), he is not at all defenseless. He also watches some TV, keeping up with news at home, and notices that there's a dragon or two at home.
Pretty interesting, he thought. Maybe it'll become the new national animal.

Ebian sends a message to Jake in his room

"Ah, hello, I trust you are the one from CoreWorlds? I am sorry for the delay in picking you up. Things have been rather hectic around here lately. I have been informed that you have certain mental abilities. Do you suppose that you could tell us of these abilities? Later on we would like to take you into one of our rooms from testing. For now I hope you will enjoy your stay while here in Ebi."

Jake replies. "Sure, I'll tell you. I have a wide range of abilities that i gain from an energy fields we Jedi call the Force. Our definition is that it is an energy field created by all life that surrounds, binds and penetrates all of us. It basically has a light side and a dark side and it binds the universe together, like duct tape, :D ."

The samurai guard the young jedi's room with caution and watchfulness under direct orders from Musashi, their hands never straying from their katanas, made from folded adamantium, reputed to be indistructible. Though they were told the jedi came in good faith they remain ever watchful.

Ebian chuckles at the duct tape remark.

"I see, well, it seems that you may have something in common with some of our research subjects already. We have found that they are able to use the energy around them, chi, ki, or whatever else you wish to call it. If you'll excuse me, I have other matters I must attend to. Please, enjoy your stay. You are free to move about the country, I just ask that if you see any of the Holy Dragon's offspring you not kill them, regardless of what the natives are doing. We are overrun, but I cannot stand to see such a majestic animal killed."

Ebian ends the video feed leaving Jake alone in the room yet again.

OOC: You have dragons, too? We had reports of at least one very large one (check the NS forum) on the news.

Jake decides to take a walk outside (Did you take his saber? I'm not sure. If you didn't then he has his in his pocket, just in case some bandit tries to pickpocket him), and nods to the samurai guarding him. The fresh air allows him to do a walking meditation, where he allows the Force to flow through him, heightening his senses, yet allowing him to appreciate life more than an ordinary person ever could.

I just want you to know that I've given strict orders to my samurai not to hinder or disturb Jake in any way. If anything they're to act as bodyguard as much as anything else. There are bandits roaming the land. If any of them give Jake any trouble in any way just tell me, I'll order them to commit seppuku at once. I don't expect trouble though, the Jedi are reputed to be just as honorable and trustworthy as the samurai.

OOC: Thanks. Nice to know there's someone watching Jake's back. Looks like it's time for some bandit bashing! There is one other kind of energy field, and that's called chakra. I'll post more info tomarrow as Konohagekure Village (my ninja puppet nation).

I hear you Jedi are great warriors, there's this criminal gathering downtown we're about to clean out, wanna come along? Don't worry about authorization from Ebi, he already gave me the go ahead.

A golden scaled dragon with shimmering iridescent wings can be seen lying down in the middle of the town square undisturbed. The dragon measures about nintey feet from head to tail and a height up to thirty feet. It watches both the Jedi and the squad of samurai with its one open eye.

Summary: After rigorous screening of some successful test subjects, the team believes it knows the mechanistic reasons why some of the loci which are responsible for these enhanced abilities are so capable. As we already reported to you, the genes TK1 [Chromosome 3], TK2 [3], Fzz13 [7], and PyT1-4 [13] are all involved in the process. This report specifically addresses PyT1, PyT2, and PyT4. It would appear that, through sequestration of magentoferric compounds in proximity to the cerebellum, it creates a low-level magnetic field. The firing of particular neurons results in a sudden intensification of that field, allowing manipulations of electrons in target molecules. Hence the pyrokinetic abilities of some subjects. However, the F variant we constructed creates a cascading signal between the neurons that allows for controlled variation of the magnetic field. Given the appropriate set of impulses, it is likely that one element could be transformed into another by rearrangement of its atomic structure (under much the same principle as the original pyrotechnic nature of this ability). It is likely that the specific transformations would need to be preprogrammed genetically, and the team is working on developing regulatory regimes to achieve this aim now. Incidentally, these modifications of the PyT4 gene reduce the total intensity of the magnetic field, which means it is less dangerous to the subject, but also requires more proximity to the item to be modified. Further, because the process is element to element specific, while it would affect all atoms of the appropriate element in range, all other elements would be unmodified. Toshiro explains the situation to Jake.
Basically a crime syndicate has taken up arms in an abandoned hotel downtown, they've been causing problems for both my nation and Ebi's. So our job is the bust in, raid the place, and exterminate any who oppose us. If they give up, fine, the police come in afterwards and take 'em to jail. The put up a reistance and collect their head. You up for it?

"Sure, but we better make sure there's no innocent people around, so that stray bullets or other shrapnel don't hit them."

"Don't worry about innocents, they've been cleared off, it's open season on criminals though." "You ready?"

Toshiro says this as he opens the door to the plush limo they'll be riding in, they may be soldiers but they ride in style.

"You bet!" Jake got in the limo, wondering how these soldiers got the clout to get such luxury items.

Toshiro and Jake arrive at the abandoned building, the rest of the samurai arrive a couple minutes later in another limo. They bust in without warning katanas and lighsaber flashing. Bullets fly through the air as they begin the extermination. The battle lasts all of 10 minutes, at the end all of the 40 criminals lay dead, most of them are beheaded. Of all the samurai only one was wounded, unfortunately it is fatal, rather than endure long pain he chooses seppuku. The samurai gets down on his knees and takes out his wakizashi and plunges it into his stomach, commiting seppuku. The cuts a "z" shape in his stomach spilling his entrails over the floor. Instantly Toshiro, acting as his second, takes the samurai's head, ending his pain and letting him die with honor. This sad business done Toshiro, the rest of the samurai, and Jake head for the local pub to celebrate their mission's success.

"Coke, please." Jake said, ordering a drink. "You know, that samurai's death was pretty gruesome. Why do you samurai do that?"

Toshiro sets down beside Jake with a cup of sake in his hand and explains seppuku to Jake.
We samurai follow the code of bushido, it's a code we as warriors follow like a religion. A lot of it is based on honor and seppuku is a way for a samurai who is facing a long death with pain and suffering to die rather quickly and honorably. Yes the seppuku is very gruesome, and painful, but it is the pain that makes the death honorable. Most samurai also believe in reincarnation, and we believe in dying honorably we will be reborn in 40 days as samurai once again. So you see to us death is nothing, it's just a doorway into another life.

"I understand. We Jedi, when we die, we become one with the Force, our bodies are burnt and sometimes we come back as blue-aura ghosts to teach one last lesson." Jake then chuckled a bit. "Kinda morbid, are we? Talking about how we die, after killing off 40 bad guys."

Toshiro chuckles in reply
"Yeah but it makes us stronger than most, in general people scuttle around for their whole lives fearing the one thing that they can't escape. We accept it."

"True, true." Jake grabs the Coke with the Force, and the glass slides into his hand. "When worst comes to worst though, I've noticed that some people accept death in the end, no matter how they died. Anyways, what is your country like? Is it beautiful?"

Chakra is another kind of energy field, and it's mainly found in the Naruto ninja manga. Basically, mental and physical energy bond together and forms the energy field we, as ninjas, know. Depending on the type (water, lightning, fire, etc.) used, a Jutsu will use up chakra depending on how powerful it is. Use up too much chakra and you die. "Yes Dr Toro" replied a small figure draped in brown robes,

"Oh, and Trudy, make sure the prisoners are well guarded, we don't want something to go wrong"

A group of the prisoners as well as two teams of scientists board the space transports.

"Remember, be careful up there. There's no telling how much different the subjects will be in space, if at all," Ebian tells one of the scientists.

"Send back reports as often as possible," Ebian adds before he leaves the landing pad

Toshiro looks off into the distance, a far away look in his eyes.
Aye, my country is very beautiful, before it was in deep turmoil and wars raged everywhere but after Shogun Musashi took over he brought peace to the land. I can't wait to return, I mess it dearly. But a samurai's job is to serve his master and I was commanded to come here. But I do wish to go back, I miss my wife and child. But let us not speak of sad things, what say we go to a pleasure house?

Yes, very true! You'd like our country though, there many times the wife actually arranges for the husband to meet a courtesan. We see sex as a part of life like eating or drinking, so it's not exactly looked down upon for a samurai to visit one, unless it's behind his wife's back. Oh woe to that poor fool!

"I kinda heard of him. Wasn't he the guy who made all those cheesy samurai movies? Personally, I prefer Hayao Miyazaki, Katsuhiro Otomo and most of the other anime/manga creators. Very cool and funny at times, too."

"Yup, that's him. I wouldn't call them cheezy though, actually they're really well done. Two of his movies, Throne of Blood and Ran, are adaptations of Shakespeare plays. Another one, Attack on the Hidden Fortress served as the inspirations to some director named George Lucas. ;) It is a bit funny though, a samurai watching samurai movies but they're very good."

Ebian sends an urgent message to Dr. Toro.

"Doctor, one of your transports has been taken over by a group of prisoners! There were only twenty prisoners on board but they were from the group that had already been tested on. Five of them have the pyrotechnic ability and are considered highly dangerous, the other fifteen are of a new set that have attributes similar to warrior mages of legend. They are able to manipulate the elements around them in ways to create shields of sort. In testing a common tactic used for defense among the subjects were to pull the ground itself up through the use of telekinesis and create a defensive barrier. The subjects would grow very weak afterwards though, so we may be able to exploit this vulnerability although the added dimension of the pyro group is may make this difficult. Your transport has landed somewhere within the Ryuuguu region between The Empire of The Yuushi and The Holy Empire of Ebi. We are sending forces out now to try and counterreact this misfortune. If at all possible we will return your craft to you in one piece."

Ebian ends his message and turns to the staff in his office..

"Gentleman, we have a crisis on our hands. Rothen, take a team of ten men including yourself to the craft to investigate. Be sure some of them are equipped with long range weapons and have the skill of a sharpshooter, or at the very least a marksman, so that they may provide cover in case of an emergency.

Tikri, make an official announcement to the nation of what has happened. Tell the citizens to stay within the borders if at all possible--speaking of the borders, put extra forces on border patrol so that we will have an advanced warning should they return here."

Ebian storms out of his office wondering how this could have happened.

"I will find them and destroy them myself if I must! I refuse to have myself and nation made fools of," Ebian says to himself as he walks down the hallway of the capital building on his way towards home.

Andreas turns off the broadcast screen and turns to face the councial

"As you can see General A these prisoners are highly dangerous. We have to..."

"Yes Dr Toro I know how dangerous they are. All I want to know is how can we help, I don't want other nations not trusting us" General A said, cutting off Andreas

"Well, General I was thinking that we could send down our own modified forces. As you know we have been testing on our nations animal and it has turned out to be a very strong creature" Andreas explained

"I would agree with Dr Toro, General, As you know I am one of the test subjects and look how I ened up" Trudy said, backing up Andreas

"Very well, Dr Toro, I give you permission, you may send down as many of these ... special forces as you want" General A said as he started to leave the room " Just make sure we show these prisoners whos boss"

Rothen reporting in:

We have arrived at the landing site. Three of our men are equipped to with long range rifles and are set up around the area in a triangular formation so that we may keep an eye on every side.

The other six men and myself are all equipped with standard equipment: Three frag grenades a piece, two flashbangs, and two smoke grenades; five of us with semi-automatic rifles and one of us with a fully automatic to provide a closer range of support.

Standard medical kits are being used. We have supplies to stop bleeding and reduce pain but nothing to fully treat a casualty. Hopefully we will not even have to use these.

We are preparing to move in. We are awaiting permission and until such is receieved we will continue to keep watch over the craft but will not move in.

Rothen, I have recently handed over control of 60 of my Assault Trudies to you. There are three transports on the ground near you men that are holding the long-range weapons. A soldier comes and whispers something into Rothen's ear.

Rothen grips his gun and makes a waving motion to his men.

General, we have just receieved permission to move in with caution.

Rothen turns away from the camera but in his haste forgets to turn it off.

Alright men, get ready to move in slowly. Radio our snipers and let them know that we are preparing to move. Let them know they are under red status until further notice. I repeat, our snipers are not to shoot unless ordered!

We will move in slowly and with great caution. We are not sure where the enemy is except for the fact that they are somewhere in this valley. Try to stay in sight of one another but not too close. We do not know the attack patterns of these prisoners.

ERRU, move out!

Rothen walks off towards the craft with his squad behind him, the last soldier shuts off the camera as he passes by.

General A turns off the broadcast screen

"It has begun, Dr, get alll the other prisoners, time to start the studies"

"Trudy, make sure that these prisonners are show whos boss. If they are going to start an uprising they will be punished"

Although we are interested, we do not want to genetically alter the subjects in any ways other than to unlock certain parts of the mind that are not generally used. These subjects are all here voluntarily and as such they are not to be manipulated in any way other than the testing of their minds.
