OOC: This is from the dispute over upper bigtopia thread, except its moved on to a war between me and Holy Grounds due to his terrorist attack on my nation (suicide bombings claiming 13 000 civilians)

The 24 A-10 aircraft made their way over the waters of the ocean as they approached the mainland, and the nation of Holy Grounds.

"This is angel lead to command, we have reached the mainland and have targets in site" angel lead reported in.

"Roger that Angel lead, make sure you get one for me to eh" the captain of the <i>Wasp</i> responded.

"Yes sir, I even painted your name on of the Napalm bombs" Angel lead stated.

"Awesome, just make sure it actually hits its target, not some civilians" the captain said.

"Are you..." angel lead was cut off as the missile lock warning sounded.

From on the ground, several SAM sites opened fire, as AA guns lit the night sky with hundreds of rounds.

The 12 A-10s of the Furious Angel squadron, and the 12 A-10s of the swordstorm squadron barrel rolled and launched countermeasures as they did their best to dodge the AA fire with their sluggish fighters.

One SAM, set with a proximity detonator, exploded just under the main fuselage of Angel Lead's fighter. A warning alarm screamed at the pilot as he quickly checked over his systems.

"Angel Lead! Are you okay!" angel two screamed into the comm.

"Uh, yeah, I'm good, peeled off some armour though..." angel lead said with a sigh of relief.

Then a SAM went straight into the engine of Angel 4, the plane went spiralling down, but the pilot managed to level it off for a crash landing right through main street.

"Angel down! Angel Down!" Angel 7 roared.

"Command, we have a fallen angel, i repeat, we have a fallen angel! Requesting SAR!" angel lead yelled.

"Roger that angel lead, Black Hawks will be lifting off momentarily" the captain replied.

Then the control boards of all the A-10s screamed with weapon locks and 46 air to surface missiles streaked out towards the SAM sites. The salvo was followed up with a full barrage of 30mm cannon fire and a veritable storm of bombs and more missiles as the A-10s emptied themselves completely of their armaments. All of the targets they had been gunning for were gone, and they returned to the <i>Wasp</i>

OOC: *sigh* where are the vets with the godmodding bombs....oh, and btw, from i understand a phalanx is meant to defend against incoming missiles, although it could easily be an anti air weapon also. BTW, do you know how many carriers are needed to carry a million men? A hell of a lot more than you can afford to buy, much less maintain. That, and you said you had only 13 other suicide bombers, yet magically 78 more appear. That, and unless they have literally tons of explosives, or nuclear weapons, they wouldn't be able to kill 400 000 people. Also, specify how they managed to evade intelligence and military patrols (common sense here, anyone who isnt authorized to have enough explosives to kill thousands of people wouldn't live more than 2 seconds if a soldier or cop saw them). Also, to have enough explosives to kill that many people (assuming their non nuclear) you would need something to the effect of a massive freighter or supply ship to move. For further reference, our largest city, and capital, is New Toronto.

OK, I just saw something about it being not open somewhere....

Well it doesn't matter now, i won, oh, and my magical cloning bays and land generators fixed all the damage his super suicide bombers did lol :D. Anyways, you wouldn't happen to need any small arms...or engineering vehicles, cuz my storefronts always open...and so far ive only sold 10 sniper rifles...lol

first of all it would be easy to sneak 78 bombers into canada if i aproach from the north and if they are caught they simply kill them selves. the next one following but not within range of the explosion then countinues forth at a huried rate and if he is caught then boom. i think you get the idea.
secondly my economy has been developing nuklear warheads since i began my country. few recorces have been put to use else were. as for food it is imported in exchange for my wepons.
like i said earlyer i am being suported by black markets and terorist organ izations. they have supplyed me with the goods to buy the transports. also not all of my military is on large ships. smaller faster ships are mass prodused or converted into militatry ships by my suporting organizations. the following are the fleets used to transport the 1 milion troops.


4 air craft cariers. 1500 troops. each loaned with heavy insurance from other countrys in my region.
the disney corporation donated 3 cruise ships to transport the rescued peoples.
4 other ships were lowned to me by cruise corporations

forthly a hell of a lot of explosives can be caried by the terorist

Actually, the majority of suicide bombers arent always the smartest of people. And a truck cannot produce an explosion large enough to kill 1000 people unless driven into something to the effect of a stadium, which during wartime against a terrorist nation would be easily protect by police forces or soldiers. And no, you cant sneak suicide bombers into canada from the north (im talking about RL canada) becaue they would die of starvation or freeze to death long before reaching any significant number of people. And 30 000 medium boats is impossible to maintain and fuel...their was an awesome post about logistics somewhere around here, i forget where...

i will reduce the amount of troops by half. and that is still more than enough to complete the rescue operation.

Ok, i'll post my military (ground forces for the most part). I haven't figured out the actual numbers for aircraft and ships yet, and its always open to small modifications. Note, this is only the peacetime military (including reserves), sleeper divisions (those who were in the military before due to our compulsory military service) are always available to go through a few drills to refresh their military minds and arm them from weapon stockpiles. Thanks for stopping your godmodding, although i would suggest that you do use SAM sites since their rather useful for shooting down most aircraft, although A-10s are annoying because they can take a lot of punishment. Having only 500 000 troops is much more realistic then 1 000 000, although it is still a lot for peacetime, but seeing as we're at war right now, i supposed it would be your wartime military.

450 000 support/logisitics personnel.
Ships crews, pilots, and vehicle crews are all trained at maintenance and repairs in order to cut back on the amount of support personnel needed.

Infantry are all equipped with body armour, standard weapon is the A-7, vehicle crews and ship crews are given A-8s, there are machine guns, sniper rifles, and the such distributed in certain ratios. Stats are up at my storefront.

IC: President Ethran looked at the letter he had received from Iasonia, promising assistance in the war against Holy Grounds. Looks like i have some new allies... he thought to himself. He took out a pen, a blank piece of paper, and started writing his response.

To Emperor Romanus Nikos III, from Ethran Verian, president, The armed republic of the Canadian Tundra:

Your offer to assist us in claiming revenge for the devastating terrorist attacks carried out by Holy Grounds is most welcome. We can use all the assistance we can get against these despicable cowards. We have already claimed a military base at a port city and our forces are moving to secure it as our base of operations. In specific, our navy and air force is slightly lacking, and support in these areas would be greatly appreciated. Although if you could move forces in an assault on the other side of Holy Grounds then it would give us both a significant advantage to split his forces in two different directions. As a token of appreciation, we are willing to ship some of the equipment we have up for export to you, as we cannot spare any money during this time of war.

Ethran walked over to the fax machine in his office, and faxed it to the Iasonian government.

All Tundric forces are standing down based on a request for peace from Holy Grounds. Negotiations will be held later today to work out the actual terms of the threaty.
