We, the Resurrected Lands of Nanakaland claim the Disputed Territories of Upper Bigtopia for a colony. However, there is a problem with that. Bigtopians want their own homeland and have started terrorist strikes on Nanakaland military outposts. Also, several other nations have just notified me declaring that they themselves claim Upper Bigtopia. My nation is under a state of emergency as we expect a battle over the land of Upper Bigtopia soon.

We request foreign help. However, we don't want this to be a full-scale war. We humbly wish that all of the fighting take place in Upper Bigtopia. Also, the only territory in dispute is Upper Bigtopia, so don't become an oppertunist and team up with the winning side just so you can aquire more territory.

We apologize to nanakland. My country does need friendlyt air bases to expand out commerce. Packilvania will join you in your crusade if we can work out some sort of airspace/airport usage agreement.

To make it more clear, choose one of four sides. If you team up with Holy Mercenaries or Nanakaland and win, you divide the colony between the victors. If you team with the dictator and win, you get Lower Bigtopia as a colony. If you team with the UBFF and win, you get two allies that could become valuable. Its all on choices. No other side, but nuetral. I was working this out for a while. If any nation loses (other than Upper or Lower Bigtopia) there is no penalty except for a loss in forces.

Although I am small, my country is set up so that a war will not cause mass amounts of upheavel and rioting. I am sending 3000 troops to Nanaking's boarder with Upper Bigtopia. I look foward to gaining new territories.

According to their previous posts, I conclude that they are Christian. They will fight for any Christian nation, so I'm not so sure about denominations.

International Statement

This is a very hard choice for Watertest to make. Nakakaland, seems to be in this for the colony, and for a slight increase in their GNP. However, if they can install a Democracy, it may be worth the time and effort to support them. Upper Bigtopia is a dictatorship and we have no reason at all to support them. The Holy Mercenaries are Christians, but I have a odd feeling that they would turn the country into a Dictatorship, or a Monarchy. United Bigtopian Freedom Fighters seem like they are fighting for democracy. They say they don't practice terrorism, however Watertest has eliminated many terrorists, and they all say that they were fighting for liberation. The choice has been a hard one, between UBFF and Nakakaland, however, after viewing intelligence, we have decided to support Nakakaland.

As Dictator: Let's make surrender negotiations. For one thing, take care of the UBFF for me.

The Confederacy of Shinbobland will pledge 10,000 troops to aid Nanakaland in their annexation of Upper Bigtopia, though we are sure that our help will be little needed.

The Canadian Tundra supports Upper Bigtopian indepence, and is willing to send in what military forces we can spare to support their cause. Also, our stockpiles of infantry equipment and Spartan MBTs are available to the Freedom Fighters for a discount of 20%

Holy Mercenaries does not wish to fight a war it cannot win and is evacuating all troops and other citizens. We give up the colony, even though we think it should have been ours.

Defari is absolutely opposed to imperialsim, although we are not absolutely opposed to Nanakaland. However, in order to protect the idea of self determination in the world. We pledge the aid of our armed forces to the UBFF. We mean no ill to Nanakaland, we simply wish to help stop the threat of imperialism in NationStates. Units are being sent to Upper Bigtopia as we speak.

It has come to the attention of the Peoples Republic of Kilean that the situation in bigtopia is becoming and unstable one, and the prosperity of the region (and of kileans commercial interests) is coming under threat from the insane and pointless dicatorship of so-called "upper bigtopia". We call upon the criminal regime of upper bigtopia to cease in their pointless power-mongering and assist all bigtopians to live united and free.

Although the people of Kilean are well-armed and ready to fight and die for our Nation, we know this is not our fight. However, some of our citizens, filled with outrage at the conduct of Upper Bigtopia, have decided to become involved (of their own free will, of course).

The Peoples Republic of Kilean has no power to stop the idealistic and noble Kileans who have joined the "Falcon Brigade" and offered to fight for a land that is not their own- Lower Bigtopia.

The Falcon Brigade is comprised of some 2,000 volunteers- all of whom have completed their service to Kilean's military- who offer to fight under Lower Bigtopian command.

The Falcon Brigade is organized as an overstregnth mechanized brigade, with an attached armor company.

Infantry carry kilean-made AK-74 variants (overall better quality of manufacture) along with other ex-soviet infantry weapons (RPG's, SA-7's, etc.)

1/3rd of the Infantry are mounted in soviet-made BMP-2 APC's. The other 2/3rds are in dependable US-made 2-1/2 ton trucks.

Attached are 12 Soviet made M-55 152mm towed howizers, organized into 3 batteries.

Tactial air cover is provided by the many SA-7 MANPADS systems carried by infantry, and by the 4 self-propelled "roland" AA missile systems.- somewhat out of date, but still effective against low-flying aircraft and helicopters.

The attached armored company operates T-72 aust.K tanks- these are T-72's refitted with Kilean-made electronics and optics. Along with reactive armor and better antipersonell and nightvision systems, the aust.K has a pretty commanding advantage over the regular T-72.


Please keep in mind that the government of the peoples republic of Kilean has no connection whatsoever to the Falcon Brigade, and any equipment of theirs was bought through private means.

In addition to the Falcon Brigade, covert "direct action teams' from the kilean State Security Directorate are inserted via fishing boat into upper bigtopia and are in the process of distributing small arms and man-portable SAM's to pro- lower bigtopian groups there. These action teams do not have the barcode ID that all kilean citizens are tatooed with, and are operating under circumstances of strict deniability.

The government of Kilean expresses a profound hope that the governments of both bigtopias will come to a rational settlement of the issues at hand. It is not in the interests of anybody to see the economic bounty of Bigtopia sucked away into war. However, the criminal regime of Upper Bigtopia does not come to their senses, they will realize that some behaviors are not tolerated by the world community, of which Kilean- as well as many other nations- are members.

We shall negotiate peace, soveriegnty, and democracy for Upper Bigtopia if you will refrain from violence.

As Upper bigtopia seems to be surrendering for the most part, I am expanding into Lower Bigtopia. The nationalists there will never let the Northern colonies exist in peace. Therefore I shall bring the province of Lower Bigtopia under Packilvanian soveriegn control, so my allies can focus up north.

President Ethran sat back at his desk as one of his intelligence officers entered through one of the palace's many secret passageways. "Sir, Several small skirmishes have been reported in Upper Bigtopia, nothing significant yet though. Also, we have reason to believe that the upper Bigtopian dictator may very well be as cowardly as he is stupid, and may choose to surrender. However, the freedom fighters seem fanatical enough to stand and fight. What do you intend to do?" the officer asked.

"Hm...if we can help win Bigtopian independence, we'll win ourselves an ally who can supply us with agricultural products, something, as you no doubt know, we need. Send in several of your special ops teams, have them link up with the freedom fighters and also, send them some equipment, we have stockpiles of small arms, i'm sure the freedom fighters could use some high quality equipment. I also intend to send in some of our troops to help in the fight, your dismissed now" Ethran ordered.

"Yes sir" the officer replied and slipped away through the passage. Ethran picked up his office phone and told his secretary to get a secure line with General Lexington.

"General Lexington here sir, what is that you need?" the general said.

"General, mobilize the Winter's warriors division, the first marine regiments, and have the warriors' troopships ready. Also, ready the Tigerclaw, and... 6 gunboats. Also, have the 3rd Arctic dragoons on standby just in case" Ethran ordered.

"Um, what exactly do you intend to do sir?" the general asked.

"Ship the warriors and marines into Upper Bigtopia to support the freedom fighters there. They have a strong agricultural industry, something that we could use, and if we helped them win their independence, well, that would definately make the freedom fighter government endeared to us. The dragoons are for backup, i don't want to send them unless i have to" Ethran replied

"Understood sir, they'll be ready to ship out in a few hours" the general replied and hung up.

Ethran leaned back in his chair. <i>Now to see how badly Nanakaland wants that colony...</i> he thought to himself.

Defari now sees that Packilvania is a threat to the freedom of people worldwide. Defarian troops have been given the order to attack Packilvanian troops in order to protect all Bigtopians. We will not allow them to spread Babylon throughout the world.

Defarian regulars have begun to comb Bigtopia looking for Packilvanian troops, at least 7 skirmishes have occured. Some Spec Ops troops have begun to train freedom fighters while most others have setup outposts and traps for Packilvanian troops. The Marines roam the nation ensuring the protection of all civilians as well as ports. Recon planes fly above Bigtopia almost constantly, looking for Packilvanians, or any other hostile troops. 3 Bombing raids have occured targeting Packilvanians.

I regret to inform you but due to a series of seismic readings factual evidence of Upper Bigtopia sinking into the sea has been found. The result of this would be devastating to any inhabitants. Therefore my country has already begun a rescue mission. Currently we have evacuated 30% of the coastal areas, and are hastily continuing to evacuate the region. The citizens will reside in our country as citizens and will be provided with houses, jobs, and some living expenses (they will be given “cash to spend”). Because my country is communist the people will be treated fairly and should feel at home.

Because my country is evacuating and sheltering the victims my government claims any property (tangible or intangible) possessed or partially possessed by those citizens rescued. The recovered property will be used to pay for the operations.

Because of severe cultural differences and language variations I ask that no other country help us. Holy Grounds has a very strong economy, and because of it being communist it possesses a larger work force than needed to complete the evacuation. If any other country "Aids"(term is used loosely) or hinders my country's evacuation of Upper Bigtopia I will declare war on them. Because my country has a small population my military’s power strongly resides on nuclear war fair and anti missile defense systems. If my country moves toward war the opposing countrys will be the battle ground. not upper bigtopia.

"If the enemy fully mobilizes we cannot win. It is that simple, but for now I want our troops to start rounding up Prisoners from the LB population. Enslave Who we can, Leave those that can't, and shoot those that refuse. Maybe we can get some free albor off of this."

OOC: Holy grounds, while its good that you got rid of your nuke threats, you can't have 1 million troops, maybe during a major world war...and thats if your conscripted injured, young, and old. Your getting a little more realistic though, ill thank you for that much

Corporal Jackman looked around the corner of the building he and his spec-ops squad were hiding behind, the pair of Holy Ground's choppers were grabbing civilians and loading them up into their landed helicopters, some went along willing, some not so willingly.

"Damn commies" Jackman muttered as he cocked his arctic sniper.

"Are you sure the freedom fighters are in position?" private Dentremont asked.

"Yeah, i can see 'em over there, there, and there" Jackman replied as he pointed out the positions that the freedom fighters were hidden in.

He leaned out around the corner, raised his rifle, fired. He cocked it again, and fired. Again, he fired. He turned back behind the building just in time as assault rifle fire sprayed all around the open space between the buildings.

The Holy Ground troops were focusing their attention on Jackman's position when the freedom fighters struck, armed with A-7 rifles and A-6 machine guns they made short work of the distracted soldiers. One of the helicopters had lifted off in time, a Devastator missile brought it back down again. The pilots of the other choppers surrendered rather than get killed.

Jackman grabbed his radio and switched to the command frequency of the Tigerclaw, "The Holy Grounds choppers have been secured sir, one had to be destroyed, the pilots are ours, all other Holy Grounds personnel are dead" Jackman reported.

"Good work corporal, I'll inform the troopships they are free to dock and disembark troops" the operator reported.

"Roger that Tigerclaw, halo one out" Jackman cut the line.

The commander of the freedom fighters in the port city came up to Jackman, "So, what do we do now?" he asked.

"You know those 12 Spartans we unloaded a few days ago disguised as truck shipments?" Jackman asked.

"Yeah?" the commander replied, not sure of what Jackman was hinting at.

"We, or more specifically, you, raise hell with 'em" Jackman smiled.

"Packilvanian troops have resorted to barbaric tactics. We are now going to send all Defarian troops in Bigtopia on the offensive. If any Packilvanian troops are seen they are to be engaged and eliminated immediatly. Begin bombing runs every 30 minutes and continue the recon missions. Blockade any Packilvanian ships attempting to enter Bigtopia and shoot down any of their planes. Mobilize ***amount classified*** more troops. We can't give a nation like them and INCH of breathing room in this conflict. They will be destroyed"

Headquarters: "Damn!! They are shootin our ships. We DON'T have the naval power we need. Put out a call for help. As a side tactic send out some unarmed "Hospital" ships to be used as slave transport. If those get blown up its gonna create an incident.

"Put a Marine unit at every port and inspect all incoming ships. We cannot allow them to take slaves out of the country; this has become a battle between good and evil."

Headquarters: "This is a lost cause. We will do one last action. Take EVERY ship we have and throw it onto the coast. The mass of ships will probably get us at leat 60% landing. Get all personel and slaves onto the ships and get the hell out of there. I will try to negotiate a peace treaty allowing us to keep the 2 islands we took off of the west coast."

"As most of you know Defari has been engaged in conflict with Packilvania. This started as a battle against imperialism but it evolved into a battle for human rights against slavery. OOC: You all basically ruined this RP :tantrum: :tantrum: :tantrum: Nakakaland hasn't even responded.

The immense troopships of the Tundric fleet lowered their armored landing ramps as columns of armoured vehicles and infantry poured out and into the city streets, making their way to a rugged base camp to be setup on the outskirts of the city, at a collection of closed down warhouses.

The people of the city lined the streets and cheered the troops, some waved Tundric flags as a way of saying thanks, but most waved their own Bigtopian flags. Freedom fighters lead the columns to the camp, where almost all of the fighters in the city were assembled in parade formation, their new uniforms, graciously gifted to them by the Tundric government, made them seem like actual professional soldiers, rather than the rag tag band of rebels they actually were.

"General, welcome to Upper Bigtopia" the commander of the freedom fighters said as he came up to General Lexington and shook his hand.

"It is good to be here, Commander...?" the general asked.

"Focht, Alexander Focht" the commander replied.

"Ah, well then, it is a pleasure to meet you Focht, care to update me on the situation?" Lexington inquired.

"Our fighters have been getting into skirmishes with Nanakaland troops, the devastators you gave us are proving to be excellent weapons against the oppresors' armour units, although they are starting to learn ways of fighting them and preventing us from firing them off" Focht replied.

"Shame to hear that, but they're still useful weapons even if they learn how to counter them" Lexington said.

"There is a problem however... we've picked up an armour column heading towards the city, they don't have an AA vehicles though, they don't know about your Tigerclaw yet, or they don't think it has gotten close enough to launch fighters" Focht said.

"Don't worry, I'll have the Tigerclaw deploy some of her A-10s to deal with the column. Now, why don't you fill me in the enemy's position?" the general asked.

OOC: The highest military to population ratio i know of was Canada in WW1 with 500 000 troops and a population of 7.5 million, and that was with the ENTIRE country working towards the war, ignoring consumer products and all that other stuff. Thus, you couldn't afford to maintain a military of that size during peacetime...but, i feel like a war, so I'll open up a new thread for us to fight each other in

President Ethran Verian replayed the news report, 13 000 dead. He lowered his head and cursed himself, the war in upper Bigtopia had escalated.

The group of generals gathered in the conference room fidgeted nervously as they awaited their leader's decision.

Ethran looked over at the generals and colonels and other military officials that were looking at him. "I want every soldier we have mobilized, call up the reserves, and assemble the sleeper divisions. Use our weapon stockpiles originally slated for export to arm them. I want civilian ships seized and refitted for military use, and conscript civilians to work on the naval yards overtime to finish all the ships that are under construction, and begin building more. I want all of our factories producing as much as possible. But most important of all, I want Holy Grounds burning before the end of the week, understood?" Ethran asked.

"Yes sir!" the officials answered in unison.

"Excellent. Oh, and if you take any of their government leaders or military heads alive, i want the families of the dead civilians to have 5 minutes alone with one of them" Ethran ordered.

MEANWHILE AT UPPER BIGTOPIA:

The Holy Grounds firebase was heavily fortified, machine gun nests, sandbags, barbed wire, searchlights everywhere, dozen-man patrols constantly on the lookout, Jackman spotted at least a dozen SAM sites to.

"Well, this i going to be one hell of a fight" Jackman muttered.

His radio buzzed, and the voice of Colonel Varron came through, "What do you see halo one?" the colonel asked.

"It's fortified sir, we'll need a slew of Spartans to break through it, but it can be done, i only spotted a few AT guns" Jackman reported.

"Roger that, have your squad ready to provide sniper fire for the main assault" Varron ordered.

"Yes sir" Jackman responded.

Jackman waited a few minutes, then something that sounded like distant thunder could be heard. The ground started to tremble and the firebase's personnel were scrambling to their defensive positions.

Then the sound stopped, and dozens of high pitched whining sounds could be heard as artillery started pouring from the sky, one of Jackman's men, the only one not armed with an arctic sniper, locked his laser designator onto the SAM sites, and one by one, artillery missiles poured down alongside the normal shells.

The SAM sites were devastated, the base was being demolished, vehicles and infantry started to pour out as the Tundric armoured units rolled towards them. Cannons roared, machine guns blazed, and all hell broke loose.

Jackman and his squad fired round after round after round, stopping numerous AT rocket toting enemies from firing off their rockets. The battle was becoming intense, and the Tundric's early advantage was gone as more troops poured out of the ruined base.

Then the most heavenly sound Jackman could wish for at the time roared overhead as a dozen A-10s burst through the clouds, their 30mm cannons roaring and their missile/bomb loadouts being emptied.

It didn't take very long after the A-10s arrived to finished off the Hold Grounds forces.

General Roy: Using these forces we have secured the city, and a perimeter of 2 miles around it. On one of those dinky little colored maps it would look like a semicircle. We have imposed martial law out of necesity and are gunning down looters. Things have calmed down and we have started to lay out plans for a colonial government. As soon as we can get reinforcements we plan to march up the Serat River and seize fertile land to give to incoming tenant farmers.

OOC: Montreal, by F-17 hornet im assuming you mean f-18 hornet...if not, you mind posting stats up, just something simple like armament would be great. I also hope the port you took wouldn't happen to be the one i took...lol or else that would totally negate this post...

"Sir! Forces from New Montreal States have landed! They have four wasps with them...although we don't believe they have nearly as full of an air complement as they can hold, they were used mainly for troop transportation" the private reported as he jogged up to General Lexington.

"Damn, with the Tundra at war with Holy Grounds, us helping the freedom fighters against Nanakaland, and trying to fight Holy Ground's forces over here...this is turning into hell on earth" Lexington muttered.

"What are your orders sir?" one of the regimental colonels asked.

"We'll deploy the marines and your armour regiment, i want a full air assault on their landing forces, see if you can keep their air units down on the ground, and see what you can do about their infantry. If we're lucky, we can contain them for a while at least until the freedom fighters can get their new brigades up and ready" the general ordered.

Admiral Jordan looked out of the window at the unending, stormy, violent waves. He turned to his left and picked up his broadcaster. "This is Admiral Jordan speaking, we are fifty minutes away from Upper Bigtopia so that means that Defcon 1 is now in effect. Begin preparing for a possible battle after we land on the beachhead.

We, the People's Republic of Liberated Asia, will support our old old friends in the natio of Nanaka. We ill pledge of course forces to the battle if it must come to that, but we wish that it won't.

We, do however have one condition to put onto our supporty. That condition is that whenthe land is claimed again, and secured, that the people of the Colony will become FULL Nanakan citizens, and the land will become offically part of Nanakaland, and not just a colony.

Seeing how the RP, and political situation as a whole is doomed, the Falcon Brigade begins a fighting retreat back to the ports. Long-duration chemical weapons are dumped into the water systems of several major cities, and all infastructure along the way is blown in place by sappers. The land is barren and will not yield any crops worth mentioning for the next decade. Birth defects and cancer rates will stay high for years. The ISD teams in upper bigtonia arm the most fanatical of the pro-lower bigtonia terrorist groups with enough explosives and weaponry to stage at least 2-3 more years of mid-level terrorist attacks. Although there is no chance of victory for these groups, their terror campaign should kill hundreds and disrupt the entire region for years. Needless to say, they will also kill hundreds of troops from almost-godmoding nation-states that cannot conform even to the very limitied realisim standards of this thread. Nation-states, I might also add, that wouldn't know divisional organization and force balance if it bit them in the ass.

General Roy: Sir we have had out colony screwed over by some organization called the "Falcon Brigade". As a retaliation we have ordered our forces to smash into their flank as they retreated to their city. General Ferand is sending in his report:

General Ferand: We were able to cut their column into two and made them take heavy casualties at the outset. As the day closes we have fought to a stalemate both in the air and on the ground. The Falcon Brigade has lost a lot of men, but they took a big chunk out of us as well. Both sides should be able to evacuate and leave this dump by 1230 hours tomorrow.

General Roy: The Wasps are waiting to evacuate the men. It looked like we had it made for a bit, but then Kilean's forces had to deploy those chemicals...

We do not want to annex Upper Bigtopia. We are simply supporting an organisation, the UBFF, that wants to overthrow the current government.

From what i understand, Watertest's forces are awaiting instructions from you, New Montreal States has retreated, and Holy Grounds is using some excuse to grab people and throw em onto transports to ship them back to Holy Grounds. Although after a declaration of war and an attack on one of their port cities, they may be pulling out. Freedom fighters, assisted by Tundric forces are repelling their attempts at kidnapping the populace. Packilvanian troops have pulled out of Southern Bigtopia, and the falcon brigade has unleashed some chemical weapons, ruining a few certain areas of upper and lower bigtopia.
