The ACR-20 is a revolutionary new assault rifle developed by Johnistani Defense Industries. The new 5.6mm fleschette ammo leaves the barrel at an impressive 1450m/s. The fleschette is about 1.5mm in diameter and is partially enclosed in the 5.6mm sabot. Because of the fast flight time the gun is extremely accurate, giving the shooter almost ray gun like ability. The bullpup design and light ammo weight gives the gun low recoil. The gun retains much stopping and penetrating power because of the very high velocity.

The ACR-20 comes with a 3x magnifacation scope as a standered feature. This scope provides an excellent sight picture in the worst of condition. The scope can be fitted with IR or nightvision capabilities. New scopes can be added with ease. Under the barrel there are nooks where a grenade launcher or other accesories can be added.

Cost: 900 USD

I wonder how these would hold up against our own AR-22s. They certainly are cheaper and lighter. I will order 100 for trials. I am also wondering how difficult it is to produce the 5.6mm fleschette ammo. We already use non-standard ammo so I don't think I would be too much of a problem for us to produce the ammunition should we adopt this rifle.

OOC-It's been noted that HV does not necessarily equal stopping power with saboted rounds. In Somalia, it took many soldiers more than 5 hits with the M-16s 5.56mm Saboted SLAP rounds to kill unarmored people. They went clean through the target and the shack behind him, but the stopping power was negligible. Perhaps you could sell it with standard (IE ball point) 5.6mm ammo as well? The 5.6 Flechette would be useful for killing armored enemies.

The fleschette tumbles a lot when it hits flesh, causing massive wounds. Although the main strengths of this weapon is the massive increase in accuracy and decrease in recoil

After exahustive range and field testing we have decided that the ACR-20 will be the next infantry weapon adopted by JSA units of the light infantry and all paratroopers as the standard rifle. Therefore we shall place an order for:
200,000 ACR-20 rifles
