The MK has been invaded by the USST! Urgent cry for help!

15-11-2003, 08:48
On live television, in a remote cave off somewhere of the mainland of the North Buncombe High region, before the camera sits a young woman, aged about seventeen or so, in tears. Behind her stands her advisor, clad in tattered robes and a grim, defeated look in his watering eyes. The girl cries from the perch of stone, her dress stained and torn from the forests in which she ran through, and their rocket lies in shambles in the far off horizon...

It is Mariel Kodobo, former queen of the Queendom of Mariel Kodobo. Her advisor, a gaunt man aged thirty five or so, puts a comforting hand upon her shoulder. His name is Tyrone Trevor...

"Citizens... of the world..." Advisor Trevor pleads, looking towards the camera with heavy heart. "Our beautiful nation, one of high esteem, and pride, is now no longer free. It is being held by the United Socialist States of Trinoya. Rumors have spread that our people shall now be oppressed, and trampled... we do not wish this to happen... we have worked so hard for what our Queendom is today..."

The advisor stops, and holding a hand to his pale forehead, he heaves a bitter sigh. Mustering all strength, he continues.

"We surrendered, fearing for more bloodshed. But only to keep the citizens safe..." Advisor Trevor tightens his grip on the girl's shoulder. She stops, and taking a deep breath, she lifts her face from her hands with a distant look in her eyes. "Please, I beg of you, citizens of the world! Help us in our most dire times..."

(If you'd like to join, telegram either the Occupied USST Territories of Mariel Kodobo, the Rogue Nation of Sodoran, or the United Socialist States of Trinoya. For battle, we use Yahoo! Chess, checkers, and Naval Command or whatever the name of it is! I hope to see some folks join in!)

On camera elsewhere...

"To the dearest USST. I, your leader, have brought us back through the war. The Queendom of Mariel Kodobo is no more and shall not ever threaten their military power against us. As I speak we are scraping their navy as well as imprisoning their former military leaders to prevent rebellion.

Soon the now anexed MK shall be refined again into a proper nation... However, the USST comes first in my eyes. For now they shall remained occupied as a military government holds power and keep the nation itself orginized.

Eventually it is our hope to rebuild the MK and give it a new government now that their lesson has been learned.

Thank you, and good night."

The screen fades away as the news of the USST goes back on with more oppinions on the post war MK being talked about in a CNN like setting...
15-11-2003, 22:46
The young queen heaved a sigh, as her advisor paced about the dark hall with a worried look in his eyes.

"Do you believe that the national community is paying us any heed?" Mariel exclaimed, as Advisor Trevor came to a halt.

"I only pray so, Mariel... if enough nations rise up against the USST, the Queendom of MK will be free once again." The advisor tapped his chin. "With the Queendom under the USST's command, they shall more than double, nay, perhaps triple their military power whilst depleting the citizens of their very well being! This is madness!"

"Yes... the USST may very well turn into what it was supposedly standing up against; a so-called policing nation..." Mariel stood with an smug frown. "And at the expense of citizens, on top of that! The Queendom of Mariel Kodobo was never a policing nation!"

"But it was..." Advisor Trevor sighed. "Only for that one brief conflict with the USST, Your Majesty. We must continue to rebuild with what we have. The nation of MK needs you, but so does the nation of Sodoran. We cannot do much except for the latter..."

"Oh, I pray that sympathy be shown..." Mariel sighed and looked out the window. "I hope the world hears our cry for help..."

*bands play and parades and held as the military forces of the USST return home*

Elsewhere...

*the occupation forces of the USST begin preperations for a long stay in the former MK*

Elsewhere still.

"To the people of the USST and its newly anexed MK territory. I, your leader, have found a small uprising faction of the MK known only as 'sodoran.' If this group is, as we suspect, attempting to create rebellion then the USST shall meet them and destroy them. Although our war with the MK is over the rebuilding has only begun. It is time for the USST to stand high above its enemies and prepare to strike at the heart of what remains of them should they so choose to become a threat. It is with great pride that I announce, as well, that the military forces of the USST have formed police forces in the MK and local militia. Soon occupation forces shall not be needed as a new government gets set up. This will take time but with the power the USST has shown it has in overcomeing conflict I have every possible faith in our military leaders to do their job.

Good night."

President Terrus sat at his desk and watched the cry for help by the MK queen once more. He couldn't believe it! What had MK ever done to the USST? I mean, sure, they had invaded the USST once, but that had been long, long ago under a diffirent ruler. Nonetheless, he could not allow this travesty to continue. He wrote up a document to be released to the press.

Free Pacific States will not allow the invading of any nation without reason. At this time we request and demand that the USST pull out of MK immediatly, or at least allow the people to ellect their own leaders. We will respond if force if this ultimatem is not met. Finally, we request other nations support us if possible. We must not allow this travesty to continue!

News reporter: What do you say about President Terrus recent statement reguarding the assult upon the MK.

President Matthew: It is very simple. It was such statements and actions that led to the war with the MK. The free pacific states do not dictate our government. They shall not oppress our nation. If they wish to go to war over such an incident they are welcome to try but such blood shed shall NOT be justified.

If the people will recall the week long build up of military forces in preperation for attacks that were endlessly threatened by the MKs leaders they shall then remember what those attacks meant at the time. We were a young nation then and were struggling to become a power. The MK disagreed with our leadership and chose to threaten force.

We have finally responded. If the world does not like it that is the worlds problem. It does not give the world the justifacaction to attack another nation or to threaten force.

As such. The USST shall meet any and all ground invasions upon the MK. If they wish to keep that area wartorn so be it. For now I have a nation to rebuild and reorginize. They require schools and police. They need a new government set up.

May it also be known to the world that the MK, by treaty, formally surrendered their nation to us. If another nation intends to attack the soil or people of the former MK... they shall have to go through the USST first.

Thank you and good night.

OOC: Alright, I was going to include the breifing, but it was WAY too long. So allow me to sum it up. The president discussed with some advisors, and decided not to make any move yet, but instead to pick another option. President Terrus told the press that his nation was going to remain nuetral for now, and that further investigations were being made.
IC:
President Terrus walked into the Senior Inteligence Officer's Office and sat down.
"Alright, I told you I wanted 2 of your best agents. This is why, and you can breif them on it later, because I have to go. I want the two of them to go into the MK....I don't care how, that's your problem, and investigate two things. I wan't the first to find the princess and see if he can get her to the Free Pacific States. If possible, see if he can get a resistance started with her as well. I want the other to investigate the area and see if he can find any evidence that will give us good reason to move. Alright?" Asked Terrus.

"Alright sir" answered the man behind the desk, who, as the president left, picked up the phone and started making some calls.

(sorry for taking so long, folks, it's been a busy little week for me. I'm-a respond now, yay! And for the dude that asked up there, well, it is modern times/futuristic, however you wish. The technology of your nation's up to you, of course. =D )

"Your Majesty?"

"Huh?" Miss Kodobo looked up from her documents to find Advisor Trevor standing before her, sporting a rather warm smile. It had been a while since she found him in such a state, and she immediately tilted her head to the side in question. "Ty, what's tha' matter? Looks like ye' saw some good news?"

"A country is investigating..." Tyrone Trevor couldn't help but smile away. "This may be what we need to bring this atrocity to clear daylight for the world!"

"Yeahs... that crackpot o' a president in tha' USST ain't an easy fellah t'handle. Who's this nation?"

"The Free Pacific States..." Advisor Trevor readjusted his sleeves. "What do you think now?"

"Paradiso Aqui has offered us their help as well..." Mariel tapped her chin. "We's gotta find a way t'speak with the president o' that place without tha' USST knowing of yers or mine's whereabouts."

"Indeed... I shall telegraph President Terrus, Your Majesty."

An hour later, Advisor Trevor stood looking over a soldier's shoulder, as he prepared the signal.

"All right, sirrah. The message shall read as such." Trevor cleared his throat. "Greetings, President Terrus. I am Queen Kodobo's advisor, Tyrone Trevor. We have heard of your concern, and we thank you, from the bottom of our hearts. Where can we meet up with you, to speak of these goings on? We would rather not explain where we are, but we are capable of traveling. Thank you for your time, and I hope to speak to you soon."

The soldier stopped tapping the lever rhythmically, and he looked up at the advisor.

"The message has been sent, sir. We shall be waiting for the response."

As the leader of the USST talked to his new advisor of the former MK, McNorton, he looked out of the window.

"See these people out there? They belong not to me... but to all of the USST. I shall soon be leaving for our homeland and I leave you McNorton in charge here. I expect you shall get things to work in this nation?"

"Indeed. The MK shall be a great new state for the USST once they are fully rebuilt and brought back to modern times. We just finished policing the nation entirely and placing in regional governments. All that is left is to get school and welfare programs."

As they spoke the MK war advisor walked in. "Matthew, we conteniue to have suspicious reports on possible meetings between the MK leaders and revolutionaires and other nations. Your orders?"

"My orders are to do nothing. They have not attacked our land yet and until they offically threaten such action we can not move against them. Their leaders only surrendered this land to us, not themselves. The most we could do is ask for their arrest and I am not prepared to hold an execution in the streets in a nation as patriotic as this one. Conteniue your policing duties. Our main concern is the people of this nation first. If you win their trust you win their nation."

"Yes sir." With that he turned to leave.

"Oh and before you go..."

"Yes sir?"

"Place our navy, air, and army back onto high alert. There is no need to take chances. On top of this tell the police to be ready and armed and to keep citizens off the streets at night. The last thing we need are revolutions breaking out in the parks at night."

"Of course sir." With that he left.

President Mark Albert found himself once again in council with his generals. The question at hand was: could Glorious Humanity support a liberation effort in Mariel Kodobo?

President Albert had reviewed both sides' statements and cases, and had decided, along with many of his advisors, that the USST was in error here. An attack on a peaceful nation based on the actions of a previous ruler could not be justified. Despite the USST's claims, there did not appear to be any case for self-defense.

General Herbert Ablegard of the Army was talking. "Well, theoretically we have the manpower to make some noise. If the USST decided to commit full force we'd have our work cut out for us, but we could definitely shake things up."

"What about the Emirates?" Albert asked. "We're already committed to one standoff."

"That's mostly naval forces and some air force though," Allean Hanoway, General of the Navy, spoke up.

"Most of our ground troops are free," Ablegard agreed.

"And several thousand planes," Florence Washington, Air Force General, put in. "That all by itself could give us an edge." The Federation Air Force was one of the best in the world, and had already demonstrated some of their prowess shooting down nuclear missiles over the Drakonian Imperium.

"On the other hand, if we commence open hostilities with no allied backup, the USST will likely try to run us over too," Albert commented. "Defenses?"

"Everything's been on high alert since the Emirates thing began," Ablegard assured him. "Doesn't matter how big an army they can field, if they try to charge in here, they're going to get chopped up."

"But that puts the fight on our soil, and I definitely do not want that," Albert noted. He considered for a while longer, then shook his head. "Too risky to declare open hostilities right now. Get on the horn with Intelligence, ask them to find out everything they can about this conflict. Meanwhile, I guess I'll make a speech."

The meeting adjourned.

*************************************************************

The Federation of Glorious Humanity sees no way that the USST can support their invasion. We call for the USST to provide solid proof to the world of their allegations justifying the invasion. If they cannot, they stand accused of crimes against humanity and we call on all just nations to oppose them.

Glorious Humanity is not at this time declaring war, but we wish to see proof that the USST acted in self-defense.

A news confrence presented to the world from the leader of the USST.

"The nations of the world have recently begun to declare the invasion of the MK illegal and a 'crime' and they asked the USST to show why it was not." The president pulls out a sheet of paper and begins to read.

"Back when the USST was a starting nation our form of government was deemed cruel and far too much of a dictatorship. The MK threatened military force if we did not change our ways. War nearly began. Several other incidents happened with the MK since those days and the USST built its military power. Finally the need to show the MK that they can not, and will not, dictate their rule upon another nation became clear. The USST acted with military agression, accepting, as the world shall note, all surrenders peacefully.

The world shall also note that shortly after the ground invasion began against the MK and long before any offical take over of the nation began the MK formally surrendered its nation to 'preserve the lives of its people.'

No agressive actions have been taken towards the former MKs people merely simple clean up and governmental operations. The USST formally agrees, to prevent further international incident, to any and all inspections and negotions with other nations as a sign of good will.

The USST does not wish for war with other nations. Still, as was shown with the MK, a simple threat of war is enough for us to act. Also, any nations that do dicide to bring more war to the MK during its reconstruction shall have the full might of the USSTs military brought down upon them. No surrenders will be accepted. I think the world will agree that they have seen enough bloodshed.

Thank you and good night." The president of the USST walks off the stage.

"Alright, will do".

IC:

"The FPS wishes to hold a talk with our leaders sir, shall we?" Said the advisor.

Mariel heaved a sigh and straightened herself up, as beside her a woman of slender stature and of lavish blue dress patted her on the shoulder.

"He shall be fine, Mariel. The United Socialist States of Trinoya cannot dare shoot down a plane of Sodoran without causing even more uproar in the national community. Ontop of that, there is no proof that Advisor Trevor will be onboard that plane..."

"Then why can't I's go with him then?!" Mariel asked angrily, turning to the woman. "We's both have t'go to the Pacific States t'gether! It's our problem, nae just his alone... if there's no risk, then why do I's have to stay behind?"

"I didn't say there was no risk... it is low risk, dear." The woman sighed, and took the young queen by the shoulders. "You must stay in Sodoran, it's the only way I can protect you! Advisor Trevor will be fine."

"Aye... believe her, Your Majesty." From behind, the frail advisor in his plain robe of dark gray showed. He wiggled his glasses about, and gave a warm smile. "T'will only be a quick trip. You're needed here..."

As the advisors slowly walked into the room seated at the front table was the president of the USST.

"Friends. I do believe that the time has come. Sources, not to mention an unusually large escort, have informed us that very important leaders have left Sodoran."

"Sir, you can't be suggesting that we preform an att-"

"Ahem... speak in turn. Of course not. However... This does give us a far more important advantage."

Another member of the advisory council looked at the leader and stood, "And that is?"

"Simple. We can now prevent those leaders from ever reaching sodoran again. Our military advisors," The president motioned, "now have more than a reasonable idea of all likely areas of return... and even some very unlikely ones."

Another man stood, "I am afraid I am not following you Mr. President."

"It is very simple. Sodoran is still within the original boarders of the MK. Boarders surrendered to us at the end of the war. They shall not expect such an assult to come from within."

"Sir are you suggesting tha-"

"Actually no I am not. I am ordering you all to prepare a secret and complete military force to surround Sodoran. If their leaders attempt to fly out, leave, or fly in... They will be shot down before they can ever reach international waters."

"What about commerical flights?"

"Ironically that is what gave us the idea."

"Excuse me sir?"

"You see.... why on earth would a commerical jet be leaving a recently conquered nation during a time of rebellion? Our local military governments saw nothing suspicious about this but... it was the first jet to leave since the end of the war. Proper clearance... proper everything. Even the take off was clean as a whistle."

"So in other words you want us to prevent any and all flights out of the MK?"

"Yes."

"Sir that will not look good to the international community..."

"As it shouldn't... hence the MKs former leaders shall be forced to enter via another route. Surely such a sign shall tip them off to an anti airforce presence being hidden."

"Which IS being hidden, sir."

"That it is. Hide what you wish them to find. Put in plain sight what you don't want them too."

"Again sir, I do not follow..."

"On this order form are a list of secret agents. All of whom shall be waiting on active train lines in the former MK. When they see that we have a military force waiting to shoot down planes they will send their leaders the next safest and best route. That is where we shall capture their person/persons."

"..." The advisor standing still wasn't very sure about the plan. "And if the incident should fail?"

"That is the best part. If we fail to capture their leaders... the leaders will either be dead or they shall be forced to turn around. The world knows we have every legal right to hunt down political prisoners in our own nation and its boarders. Also, their leaders would not be dumb enough to attempt to conteniue through on any route that they take after it has been tried."

"What if they walk across the boarders?"

"Again, this is not an issiue. Those chooseing to walk across would have nothing to prevent us from shooting them. It is well known that the USST refuses to take illegal immigrants from other nations and that we shoot them on sight.... Ironically... they would stand a better chance with our agents than with boarder police. Let us not forget that incident involving the boat load of immigrants 'fleeing' their nation."

"How could we. The international community nearly came down on us for that but didn't considering the boat was unmarked."

"Indeed. The trap is set. Boarder police shall stop cars and people. They shall see the secret anti air units waiting for them... the train is the only logical way in."

"Any other orders before I inform my agents sir?" The man still looked uneasy.

"Yes. Order them to take their agents alive in less there is no other way. In which case... The car with the least number of people is deemed expandable. The agent is to force the leaders into that one and blow it up. Most likely the last car in the train."

"Yes sir." He paused, "What if sodoran or FPS get word of the train as well?"

"Then they will not be stupid enough to send those leaders back and we will have won anyway. A bonus is we shall have won without the possible loss of any agents or military equipment."

"If that is all sir. I shall get to work on this."

"That you should. Good luck to you all. Everyone is dismissed."

As the president left the table he had a little smile. One suggesting that just incase he still had one last trick up his sleeve. Something dilibertally not spoken at the meeting. As he left he turned to a single advisor who left with him.

"Again... always hide them in plain sight." He said as they both left.

"Roger that. Tower to Red Fox Squadron, you may break off you escort. Sodoran aircraft, welcome to the Faramount (capital of Free Pacific States) International Airport. Please begin landing procedures on Runway 2-9er, FDX Code 42.64..."

As the fighters broke off and the Sodoran plane came in to land, just about everyone waiting at the airport heaved a sigh of relief. The Sodoran leaders had made it. As soon as the plane came coasting to the stop (no at one of the normal gates for security reasons) it was met by 4 normal police cars, and 8 unmarked (not as in no license plate, as in no siren) National Police Agency Vehicles. Around thirty law enforcement agents got out, waiting for the Sodoran personell to exit the plane. To most, it would look like a bust on a drug plane. But to anyone smart, it was obviously an escort.

(ah, very well. Then instead of a very secret force consider that last post to be an all out decleration to commit naval/airforces to a blockade).

The president stood in his office as in advisor walked in.

"Sir, yet another nation has prepared to invade us."

"These nations clearly do not understand what offical surrender means. There is no incursion, there is no attack. The war with the MK is completely over. They offically lost as per their surrender papers. The simple fact that we failed to capture their leadership is another story."

"Still sir... it is a lot of forces..."

"Indeed. That it is. That is why I am prepared to call on the nation of sixswords and her allies should any attack come. Two massive military powers on the defence will be more than adequate to prevent any invasion of the MK, the USST, or Six Swords."

"Still sir this is quite a bit of power being placed against us."

"Indeed. That is why orbital weapon plateforms have been constructed recently (that new idea was PERFECT for this mwahahahahaha). Also we now have the former MKs economical backing. We can fund a defense, we can fund an offense."

"Indeed sir... but can we fund the forces required to stop a rebellion."

"That, my dear advisor, shall not be an issiue. As of today a new annoucement shall be made."

******

The president walked up to the stand in the large open room. "To the people of the world. Recently many nations have chosen to not choose diplomatic ends and instead are simply commiting forces against the USST and the Former MK. These nations would do well to note that the MK did formally surrender their lands to us."

He takes a deep breath before conteniuing.

"As such... any agressive action taken by any nation shall be deemed an assult from the former MKs leadership and will bring the entire might of the USST down upon Sodoran. Until other nations are willing to open up diplomatic talks with the USST a naval blockade of all types of ships, including former MK ships, shall surround the nation of sodoran. It will do nations well to note that the USST has also been promised the support of the nation of Six Swords and her allies. This combined with our newest defences," The president turned to a screen behind him showing several orbital weapon plateforms in space, "Shall insure the total and complete destruction of Sodoran if other nations choose to not stand down from their agression." The president then turned to the screen and turned it off.

"Further more, these same weapons will be used against which ever country that so chooses to attack the USST and the former MK. They shall not, I repeat, shall NOT be used souly against military targets. An attack on the USST or the MK is an attack upon its people. If nations do not wish for an even more bloody conflict I suggest they choose to sit down at a table and talk. The USST has been more than willing to talk to any nation except Sodoran. Currently, the only nation to reply with any form of diplomacy to ours is the FPS. For this, and this only, they have proven themselves to be able to hold their guns and lift up their pens."

He turns to his advisor. "As it is in the best interests of all nations to reach a peaceful solution the USST declares that it wishes the FPS to be present at diplomatic talks." He steps back from the stand and motions to the screen.

"This... is a live fire test from one orbital plateform. Enjoy."

The orbital plateform releases thousends of small bombs desending to an unmarked island off the cost of the USST. The island is not on the map after the smoke clears.

"This shall be what will happen to ANY nation that attacks... However, the first target will be Sodoran. If any nation assumes that it can stop the entire USST from leveling an island in a day... they may try. And before anyone attempts to be a hero... Anything launched near or at those plateforms will be taken as an act of war." The president returned to the stand, the destruction of an island behind him.

"The USST shall not be 'bullied' by other nations with out a fight. If they would rather talk, so would we, however we shall not sit back and allow military build up around our nation. That said... To the nation of Ebon Rose. Your forces have been considered a threat to our nation as of your decleration. Any build up of your military power along our boarder will be considered hostile. We suggest you take the route of the FPS and consider peace before you consider war." He turned one last time to the screen.

"This here," he changed the picture, "Is the small island of Sodoran. It is hardly bigger than a fly and has an even smaller military. If the Queen of that nation..." He paused a minute, "does not wish the entire island to be declared a rebel stronghold and treated as such... she too shall stop attempting to get other nations to wage war for her and instead sit down and discuss her options." He smiled breifly.

"If she does not... I can not promise the safety of Sodoran or its people." He turned of the screen. "The world has exactly 24 hours to ask for a diplomatic solution. If it does not the current boarders of the USST and the MK shall be NON NEGOTIABLE and any further agreesion, threatened or otherwise, will be taken as an act of war made by Sodoran and the attacking country. Any attempt to stop the blockade shall be an act of war, any attempt to attack ANY USST targets, secretly or otherwise, IS an act of war. My responses to these acts have been noted."

He turned the screen off. "If nations wish for peace the USST is only willing to talk during the next 24 hours. If no offical reply is made by Sodoran or any other attacking nations in that time, or if the USST is attacked by any nation at that time, a scroched earth policy is in effect and war shall begin. Military, Civilian, and the entire Island of Sodoran, are the primary targets of such a war."

"It is in Sodorans best interests to NOT allow this conflict to conteniue any longer and to sit down and talk. Thank you and good night." The president got up and left.

********

In a dark room underground the USST leaders met. Infront of the President was a single button with a keyhole next to it. The key was in the slot and turned. "They have 24 hours to choose peace... if they do not... Sodoran shall be destroyed entirely. Advisors, suggestions?"

One stood, "I suggest that we give the Nation of Sodoran land as a show of good faith should talks begin. If a nation chooses to attack us our military forces should be used defensivlly while our orbital platforms rain destruction upon them. That is the only logical way that we can defend and be offensive."

"Noted. Next?" Another stood.

"I believe that it is too late to back out of the MK. I think a full military strike against all nations should be carried out and that they should not be given a chance to surrender at-" A shot was heard. The president stood with a gun as the advisor dropped to the ground, clutching his wounded leg.

"Starting another war shall not get us a victory. We must fight defensivly and we must negotiate as such. The next one to suggest war shall get far more than a shot in the leg." Another stood.

"I suggest we prepare a full invasion of Sodoran as well, however, I think it should wait until we are attacked. It does us not good to wipe them off the planet."

"Point noted and rejected. Unfortunently for Sodorans leadership it cares too much about individual life. It was why it surrendered the MK to us. Although we care about our citizens we would never let it get in the way of an international decision. After the first bomb fell they would quickly wish to talk and get us to disarm them. At that point I would be more than willing to disarm if they could promise the complete and total withdrawl of any other nations forces. Which they can't."

"Sir, with all due respect, I do not believe fear is the smartest card to play at this point..."

"Indeed, it is not. Unfortunently it isn't fear that I wish for them to have. That is simply a bonus. Some of those nations are not as civilized as the FPS and will not hesitate to invade our boarders. Those nations are the ones I wish to intimidate. If a show of force shall stop an invasion and get a person to sit at a table then everyone beneifits. Our only other option was to invade them before they invaded us. Until Six Swords offically shows support for our nation I can not, and will not, invade another nation. It is too costly and we would loose more men than would be worth the ground we gained. Also, a show of physical agression by us would bring the FPS down upon us. Individually, or even with Sodoran, they would not have been a threat. They have numbers, we have an over inflated defense budget. If we attack, they will win. If they attack, we shall stalemate. If they choose diplomacy..." The president smiled. "Then we win and Sodoran will become an offical nation, as unfortunete as that may be. A second bonus is we shall be able to benifit of the MKs economy insureing that no nation shall ever threaten us again."

"Do you mean that we could invade other nations then?"

"No... I mean we shall finally be secure in our defense. Even if we had to give up some of the MK for that, the gain would be unimaginable. They know that we will take diplomacy out... The question is will they talk or shoot."

"And what of the FPS?"

"The FPS will not start a war with us... even with its support. Like us they will not go to war with out a good reason. Unfortunently they will use their military power as a trump card during diplomacy. Backed with other nations I could not refuse a decleration to make Sodoran a nation. There is even a small chance that Sodoran shall obtain a small portion of the MK as well."

"You won't let that happen, will you?"

"Of course I will. A small portion of a pie is less important than the pie itself. If I can save even one service man from death by agreeing to such a term than I have done my job... ruthless as I may be I must care about the army and the people to a point. It may not affect my political decisions but it does effect how many peices I have to use in the general game. If the people will not support me I would loose a war. If I keep them out of it and rebuild the MK I shall not just win their support but I shall win their loyality."

"You are a very odd president, sir."

"Thank you. With any luck an odd mind might be the answer to peace and not war. We shall see how smart nations other than the FPS are..."

"My fellow Free Pacific Statsians....er....we have got to make a better way of saying that, don't you agree?" The comment by President Terrus got a laugh out of the newsmen, after they had calmed down, he continued.

" The current situation in the MK and the USST is very delicate, and very dangerous. If we do not work this out correctly, it could cause death in the millions, possibly even destroy our nations. Through recent events, we can see that war is not an alternative, nor an option. War would simply cause death, something I do not want. I am planning on sending a diplomatic team to the USST capital in order to start negotiations. Though we will be working for many things, what we will cheifly be working for is the survival of the MK people.

There have always been stories of torture and killings inside occupied territories, but as of yet, we have not heard any of the sort in the MK. The point of this diplomatic team, quite simply, is to try and keep things as they are. As long as the people of MK are treated fairly, and their nation rebuilt from war damages, we will be happy. I ask that nations that have decided to help Sodoran and the MK not do it through war. That will accomplish nothing. Rather, do it through peace. Just as much can be established with just a little more work, and a little less death. Thank you for your time, God Bless."

After exiting the press conference chamber, Terrus walked to the polygon office (hehehe, oval office), and sat down. Sitting in the room were five men. Two were the agents who had been sent into the MK and Sodoran, the third was the Director of Intelligence, one was the Chairman of the Joint Cheifs of Staff, and the final was the Cheif Ambassador of FPS. Terrus looked at the five men, and said "Carry out plan B. Have the military start standing down. Director, keep your men going in to make sure no torturing or disapearing of people is going on. Ambassador, get a team of your best diplomats together for that conference. Bring the Sodoran leader here A.S.A.P. I still want to talk to him, even if we may not support them militarily. That's all. See you all later."

After the men had walked out of the room, Terrus took out a bottle of scotch and poured himself a glass. So much was going on in the international community, and now this. Orbital Gun Platforms? FPS had decided to keep research in exploration and life support, rather than weaponry. In a war with USST...it was doubtfull FPS would win. It seemed diplomacy was the way. Terrus just hoped nothing went wrong.

As the president faced a screen that had been sitting behind him during his talks with his advisors he began calculating which cities in the MK would be expendable and which ones would not. It was good in advance to know who you would have to abandon in case of war. Suddenly a man ran in. Shouting. The president turned the chair to face the table as the advisors turned to the man.

"The FPS has chosen diplomatic talks! The tactic worked! IT WORKED!" The man ran out of the room and down the hall as the advisors, who were collectivally stunned at this news turned to the president. He simply turned to the advisors with a smile on his face.

"Told you so." With that he took the key from its place in the hole and pocketed it. "You can only push so much before someone else will push back... no one wishes for a brawl advisors. The FPS truly should be placed on our to-do list for alliences at a later date. For now take the blockade off the shoot on sight order. I want the orbital platforms to remain on high alert but to no longer be activally targeting. Keep our military on high alert as well since we have no offical change from any other nation. Including Sodoran. If Sodoran chooses to go to war we shall have a bloodly conflict still... but at least with the FPS out of it and wanting peace we shall have a much easier chance at a victory in other nations and an easier time at peace talks."

The advisors nodded. They then stood and proceeded to clap for the president. As he stood and left the hall outside was filled with military and political leaders and workers clapping. A speech needed to be made."

*****

"The the people of the MK. As I thought would happen every major power involved in this conflict has chosen peace over war. The pen is finally proven to be mightier than the sword. People of the former MK, the USST, and the FPS can rest at ease tonight knowing that the future of all is secured for at least one more night. Thank you, and good night." He walked off the stage to an uproar of cheering and clapping.

Advisor Trevor sat with the dim glow of the television dancing upon his pale, gaunt face. He looked more ghostly, more drained and exhausted than his thin and usual self, as he stared in disbelief at the television. He clenched his fists.

"He wouldn't dare..." Trevor snarled under his breath. With a few moments of dark truth recollecting about him. "Who am I kidding... the bastard would do so in the blink of an eye. I've gotta talk to Terrus."

The advisor blinked to hear a knocking at his hotel room, and he perked an ear to hear an officer.

"A meeting with the President is to be underway soon, Tyrone Trevor."

"Ah... yes... we've... got to fix this mess." Tyrone sighed glumly. "We've got to negotiate... not send nukes or anything of the sort after one another."

=======

"Miss Janev!" Mariel cried, pointing at the TV. "That's it! I's ain't gonna stand fer this, Sodoran can't bear tha' brunt o' this mess. I is sorry that this nation somehow got dragged into it..."

"It is all right, Your Majesty... our people will stand for the cause of justice."

Mariel clenched her own small fists.

Airport Personell were refueling and readying the Sodoran Aircraft, just incase Advisor Trevor decided to leave. Even as this happened, security was checking through for explosive devices of any type. The commotion around the aircraft was bringing attention, and airport security was already holding back a crowd of at least 30.

This was not the most important thing going on however. Across the airport, a group of Eight Navy Whales (named after the national animal, equal of a US Navy Seal) we're boarding an aircraft with two diplomats. The aircraft, heading for the USST peace conference, carried onboard it (besides the two pilots, enjineer, stewardess, and 8 Navy Whales):
Ambassador Jim Valkens. He's served in over 5 dozen embassies, 5 of which have fallen under terrorist, civil, or army attack. A deep believier in peace, but also a realist, he was perfect for the team.
With him is Diplomat 2nd Grade Markus Grendov. He has much less diplomatic experience, and very little combat experience. He is a severe optimist, but knows when it's time to give up on something. He was picked for the job due to his previous positions at the embassy in USST and MK.

The plane took off, heading for the USST capital. On these two mens shoulders (and the guns which were resting on the shoulders of their protectors), held world peace. One slight screw up, and everything Free Pacific States had attempted to make and stand for would be gone.

The president sat back in the room he had been in before. It seemed that his messege had gotten across only to the FPS. Sodoran was still attempting to orginize its military forces. He sighed and turned to those assembled.

"At least the FPS did not wish for war. Remove their cities from any target lists..." He spoke to the advisors. "I had not wished to give this order... but the nation of Sodoran has left me with little choice. Thankfully, with out the FPS backing a war effort and wanting peace we shall have an easy enough time defending both the former MK and the USST. As for sodoran...."

He took in a deep breath. "If they fire a single shot... and ONLY if they fire the shot... wipe them from the face of the earth. I stand by my earlier posistion..." He put the key in the slot and turned it. The button was free to whoever got to it first. The USSTs government was one built out of trust after all. The president walked out of the room giving one last order.

"Only the FPS has diplomatic freedom on our boarders right now. Any of those other nations attempting to run the blockade are to be declared hostile and stopped... With any luck FPS shall bring since to Sodoran before they make a grave mistake. I made a promise to the world. I shall keep it if I have to." He then left.

With any luck Sodoran would reliaze it couldn't win a war without the FPS's aid... With any luck they would reliaze their complete and total destruction also wouldn't help their cause much either. A man turned around with a messege and walked up to the president.

"Sir the FPS has informed us they are sending diplomats... premission to let them land in the USST?"

"Premission granted." It would be their last chance. "Get the advisors to meet me at the capital building. I want a full update on Sodoran and the former MK." He turned and was led through the underground bunker and too a waiting car.

"This is diplomatic 451 to USST blockade. We are requesting permission to exit international waters and land at USST international aiport, over."
After broadcasting the message, the pilot put the microphone back in its holder. Turning to his co-pilot, he said simply, "I hope those two diplomats back there are right. If they aren't, were about to get shot down...literally."

(heh, the blockade is just around sodoran. The USST is quite far from the former MK (it is at the bottom of the earth! heh).

As the boarder forces along the USST recieved their orders several men had already begun targeting the plane. A commander walked over to one of them. "Keep trained on them but don't fire. Hold communications until they cross over us. I want to be perfectly sure they are who they say they are."

As the plane conteniued forward a messege came through. "This is the fifth Division of USST Anti Air and Space forces. You are cleared. Follow the desiginated route to the airport. A full military escort awaits."

*****

*at the airport*

15 tanks crossed over a long gated fence while bulldozers cleared a nice dirt road behind them. Along the side of the path was a full battellion of men marching with the tanks. In the air helicopters were flying in circles and the entire airport had been shut down pending the arrivial of the plane. Snipers sat in key posistions waiting for orders to shoot anyone who attempts to kill those on the plane, or incase the plane was hostile, to take out its passengers. Agents dressed in complete black lined the loading and unloading area where the plane would have to land. Off the cost a destroyer and aircraft carrier set. It launched its full compliment of jet craft and sent them to intercept and guard the plane.
06-12-2003, 15:37
"For the gods sakes, they've left already?" Trevor exclaimed, watching the planes take off as he stood at the window of the airport. He readjusted his glasses once more, chewing at the side of his lip, and he turned to a nearby security personnel. "I've got to talk to Terrus... I need to get to the USST as well!"

The advisor quickly turned to walk down the hall, furrowing his thin eyebrows in worry. Suddenly, the faint murmer of a single, lonely television caught his attention, as a word broke the silence.

"Sodoran..."

Trevor turned to it, as he watched to his horror.

"Military forces are beginning to organize in Sodoran's borders, in retaliation to the blockade the USST has set around it. Reasons for the blockade are not clear. Sources indicate that..."

"Oh good gods!" Tyrone gasped, and he took off running. "Get me to the telegraph room! NOW!"

======

"All right, Sector B's good to go? Good..." Mariel nodded to herself, as she twirled the telephone cord around her finger. She paused at the tapping of her shoulder, and turned. "Wha's wrong? We's in tha' middle o' a crisis heres!"

"Advisor Trevor is telegraphing you from the FPS. He demands that you not take any military action as of yet." Miss Janev softly whispered, as Mariel gave her a distraught look.

"What?! It's because we's didnae take any military action that my people now lead a life only t'serve tha' USST! I's nae going to let that atrocity happen again! Who knows, SODORAN may be next, and then tha' rest o' tha' smaller nations! Not until tha' USST lets my people go will I's rest!"

"But Your Majesty..."

"Don't call me's that!" Mariel cried angrily. "I's only tha' Queen o'... of... what? Huh?! A bunch o' sand, and dirt! Tha' people of my nation have no say, have no freedom t'do as they wish! I's heard that tha' nation refuses t'give international aid!" The young queen shook with rage. "NOT IN ALL THA' HISTORY O' THA' MK HAVE WE EVER REFUSED IT!"

"Calm yourself!" Miss Janev pleaded miserably. "The Advisor wishes to speak with you before he goes to the USST."

"He's going WHERE?" Mariel blinked. "They'll roast him alive!"

"He told me he was disappointed in you." Miss Janev glumly replied. "He told me that he raised you since you were young, correct? Since the passing of King Lobarth?"

Mariel grew quiet at the mention of her father's name.

"Advisor Trevor told me that before this incident, the people of the MK and yourself were quite peaceful, and excellent in diplomacy. Do not turn into what you formerly feared the most, Your Majesty. Let the Advisor try his luck in the USST, and then afterwards, decide your course of action."

"And that's exactly what lead my people under tha' rule o' that psychotic man." Mariel mumbled, and looking at the telephone receiver in her hand, she quietly put it down. "He better know what he's doing. Fer now, I demand all military organization come to a standstill."

Terrus was standing in the telegraph room when Trevor finished his telegram. "I am deeply sorry I could not speak with you before now, but I have been very busy as of late. Now, down to buisness...what would you like to speak about, and what can FPS do for you...without causing a war."

The FPS plane followed the designated course to the inch (a compliment to the pilots....as well as to their fear). Once it had landed, and one of the rolling staircases pushed up to it. Ambassador Valkens began to exit the plane. He was wearing an ordinary buisness suit. Behind him was Markus Grendov, who was dressed in a simple t-shirt and pants. He was also wearing a jacket, although it was doubtfull any weapons could be hidden inside it without them being obvious.
After the two had walked a few steps, two of the whales, armed with only the guns on their belts, got out to make sure the two weren't hurt. The pilots shut off the plane's enjines. Unless things wen't well, having them on wouldn't help.

"Our forces are ready to begin movement." Four star general Marcus barked at Rose.

Rose raised an eye brow to the remark. "Only fools rush in where devils fear to tread. Granted we have much power and could hold our in any fight, but collateral damage must be kept acceptable."

"I agree." the general remarked absently stroking chin.

"We should open peace talks and keep our alert status yellow."

Closing a folder Rose smirked. "See about getting some covert agents into the field over there. Standard black op, gaining assets and Intel are the primary objectives. Secondary would be to look for any resistance cells. We have crack agents lets use them for something."

"Is it wise be directly involved with the mission?"

"War is still war no? If it happens in the next few weeks or years the outcome will be the same..we will lose...and make them pay hell for everything they take. Now excuse me, I need to speak to the public."
*************************************************************
We live in trying times my people. Only when the pen fails must we use the sword. Following the advice of my cabinet, I'll be sending a team of diplomats into the now occupied Queendom.

We will not be bullied and intimidated by shows of force. Should the peace talks fail, we will proceed with the original plan. I will not ask any of you to remain here, as I cannot assure the safety of this nation should we go to war. Contingency plans have been set in place, should any of you wish to leave. Four major bases will be running air transports round the clock to an undisclosed location.

We must not live in fear. To show fear is to lose before one shot is ever fired.

Good night and may the goddess guide you all.

A messege came to the Presidents office. As he took the messege he looked grimly at the person infront of him.

"Inform them that the Sodoran offical will be allowed in. Warn them, however, to make clear they are not from the Ebon Rose or the PSRH. I just found out that Ebon Rose may make a bid to join in the talks and I shall not allow that. They hold no power of the outcome currently. As for teh PSRH they have been massing forces openly." The President turned his head to a map. "Interesting. After the biggest and strongest supporter leaves for the pen smaller nations risk loosing it all by picking up their swords. The coming days shall be most interesting however I have confidence that any nation stupid enough to escalate this further will be put in their place."

"Is that a wise posistion sir? Just to assume that no one will be dumb enough to fire a shot?"

"You are assuming that that was what I was thinking. Quite the differen't. I am assuming someone will be dumb enough to fire a shot. Why else would I keep our forces on such high alert. Also, what is the ETA of the diplomats?"

"They should be here within the next hour or so. We dicided, for security reasons to switch to a helicopter half way through their trip. They should reach that destination shortly."

For the second time, a diplomatic flight, this time carrying Tyrone (and again some Navy Whales...), was heading towards USST. They would arrive at it's border in somewhere around 6 hours, and arrive at the airport in somewhere around 8 and a half. Untill then though, everyone on board got to relax. The small escort of four planes would break off as soon as the plane was within the range of USST defensive weapons. This wasn't because the fighters were afraid to be shot down, but that once the USST could defend the plane, they no longer needed to.
__________________________________________________________
Jim Valkens and Markus Grendov (the two diplomats) complied completly with the USST soldiers. They knew it was best this way, since it made the soldiers more friendly, and because it helped ensure the diplomats safety (as the soldiers were there to protect the diplomats, not guard them...hopefully). As they rode along in the car and then the helicopter, the two diplomats continued to compare papers and prepare for the diplomatic "conference". Of course, it wasn't much of a conference, as only the USST and FPS would attend, but they would still care just as much.

Final view of the data, , impossible to both liberate the Queendom, and adequately defend our own land.

Recommendations:Use field agents to locate former troops still loyal, if any exist. Form resistance cells. Supply them with weapons, Intel and cover.

Note:The final option would be to ally ourselves with the Queendoms attackers....if the situation proves hopeless we must think about our own people...

Signed Advisor Trenton.

"Keep calling the USST." Rose said halfheartedly. "Get clearance for our team."

The advisor sank into his seat, staring up blankly at the lazy clouds that whirled on by out the window. He knew that the USST was not friendly at all with the Queendom, and perhaps those exact choice of words are an underestimate. Taking off his glasses, he precariously cleaned them on his dull gray robe and began to chew slightly on one of the ear supports.

"Mariel, I hope you are not doing anything stupid."

=======

The former Queen sipped at her cold medicine... she sat by the phone and refused to move. Sodoran's national news channel remained on the TV infront of her, which glowed through all hours of the morning and of the darkest eves. The cold winters that Sodoran was known for began to make itself evident, but the young woman kept her vigil. Should Trevor die over at the USST, she promised herself that the USST would forevermore be treated like wild dogs.

"Like the wild dogs they's are..." Mariel exclaimed to herself, and twirled her hair around her finger. "Santos-Naha have mercy upon us."

As the president sat at his chair an advisor walked in carrying two papers. He began to read them.

"Mr. President. The helicopter with the diplomats has finally reached its destination. ETA to the confrence 20 minutes."

"And, the other paper?" asked the president.

"Ah yes... The plane carrying the Sodoran diplomat is in our airspace... orders?"

The president thought about shooting it down and obtaining a small peice of vengence against his enemy. However the thought was quickly pushed aside by wiser thinking. "Allow them to cross. Again, any other aircraft that we do not know about in advance and already have my premission are to have a shoot on sight policy. This is the last aircraft I want heading over my nation for a while."

"Sir... If I may remind you, we always have a shoot on sight for any UFO." (note I am taking the literal meaning, not alians.. *BOP*).

"Oh yes.. I forgot about that... and did we write up that formal apology to the kids kite we shot down the other day?"

ooc: Sorry couldn't resist bringing up the fact my nation shoots down anything that flies that it can't ID in a heart beat as friendly ^_^ lol. Ebon rose might want to think twice before sending in an aircraft...

You know.. I think the issues are at least on my side *points to his nation*

The diplomats followed the military guards into the building. As they walked through hallways towards the conference room, they took one final look over their information. This was not going to be an easy, or even fun, diplomatic conference.

"USST Tower, this is Diplomatic Flight 2A9er, requesting landing clearence"
The pilot sat, preparing the airplane for landing, and, looking down, saw another aircraft, same model as his. "Well", he muttered to himself, "It seems like I'm not the only one in danger of being shot."

This is an ooc topic... er... everyone's on vacation now, I'm assuming. I know I was. We'll get up and running in January, if Trinoya's back. Me thinks now it's his computer that's on the fritz, so be patient! And for the meanwhile, go watch LotR's three movies straight. That'll knock you into a happy coma long enough for all of us to return.

also ooc here. I am back, yeah, my computer has been giving me some trouble. That combined with the holidays has made use few and far between (I've managed to connect something like... 7 times total).

Anyway... I was assured by my provider that it was their end and not mine so I should be back up and running. Enjoy the rest of the holidays people.

I guess you all were waiting for me to post or something. Very well.

*slips back into character*

BIC:

Two men greeted the diplomats. "We are the USST Diplomats. As we have no UN ties know in advanced that we are not honorbound by ANY UN regulation for treaty use. Follow we shall hold our confrence in exactly 7 hours. Until that time you are welcome to enjoy anything within this building. I suggest you do not go above floor five or below floor 2 to minimize any and all risk to you. The windows in your rooms have been cemented in. It would take a missile to attack you both in that room. The roads for 2 blocks in every direction are closed for your protection as well." The other man stepped forward.

"We hope you enjoy your stay."

ooc: Mwahahahahahaha! I made a post! Now it is up to all of yoooooooooooou!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *Bop*

The two diplomats looked at each other, and then back at the two USST diplomats. Both of the FPS diplomats were greatly suprised by the security...most governments simply said "If they die, we'll ask for two more.", but this one obviously cared. It made a very good impression on both men.

"I'm sure we will. Thanks. I guess we'll see you in seven hours." As they stepped into the room, the two men looked around.

OOC: As I don't know what type of room it is, that's all I can really say.

"Yep... there it is." Advisor Trevor looked out the window, tension filling up his muscles. "They're probably going to hold me captive. After all, we're but a simple rebellion to them now..."

"All right! This is Sodoran Transport, come in Trinoya! Over!" The pilot kept his focus infront. "You're not going to turn back, now, are you, Mister Trevor?"

"Nay. Lessee how this all goes..."

(Sorry bout that... beh. =D Okay! Gotta know if I'm comin' in or not)

(then, ermm, we're landing! Yah!)

The Advisor sighed to himself after the long plane ride. Exhaustion was clearly beginning to weave itself into his face, and the worry even more so. The thumping of the aircraft coming down onto the runway woke him up completely from his daze, and the Advisor sat straight in his chair.

"All right. Let's go."
