Reuters report:

Today a barrage of 5 mortars where fired at the government building, killing 5 civil servants. A running battle is also being fort in the city centre of Brent in the North-west of Wintrees, involing a number of Rebels and Wintrees Defence forces. Hedge bridge (1 of the 4 bridges that lead to the isolated plain the city of Brent is located on) was also bombed by a series of car bombs, and is currently being defended by Rebels.

The Rebels are suspected to belong to the Free Wintrees Front or FWF, they appear to be well armed with heavy weapons and in one case a make shift armoured car.

The Wintrees Defence forces seem to have been completely mobilsed by the government, but have failed to make any serious attacks on both the Bridge at Hedge and the city of Brent. It is thought that rebels operating in the hills in area have engaged Defence forces in a series of ambushes, although this cannot be confirmed.

The Wintrees Government requests aid from any countries willing, we believe that this is just the start of a Rebel led action which will spread to the south of the island, and we cannot afford to spread our forces that far.

Renard comdems any attack on civilians unreservedly, but feels that it cannot send troops to support a nation where Civil and Political Rights are so limited.

Reuters Report:

Wintrees Defence Forces have assaulted the Hedge Bridge, led by elements of the 1st Battalion, Kings Hussars Armoured Regiment and supported by elements of the 9th Parachute Regiment and 3th Parachute Regiment they took the Bridge from the 200 defenders, killing 40 of them in the process. The remaining rebels have fallen back into the settlement on their side of the bridge, where they have deployed Anti-Tank weapons and have destroyed what looks like 3 tanks of the Kings Hussars.

Defence Forces have now withdrawn to their side of the bridge. An Artillery force has also set up a few metres from my position. It looks like they are planning to fire on the settlement from long range. It is unknown at this time if the settlement still has civilians in it.

We require you to help our valient soldiers at Brent, Hedge is a lost cause, as there is a large build up (1 Brigade) of Wintrees Defence forces stationed there after our failed attempt to take Hedge Bridge.

Secret IC to FWF: We will attempt to land in Brent with 100 men, while stealth heliocopters take another 50 to Hedge.

We have several actions planned:

-We will attempt to draw the government's fire in Brent while your men escape.

Foreign Infantry have taken over the positions of the Wintrees Defence Forces here at Hedge Bridge. We've been asked to move out of the area, but will stay in hidding overlooking the bridge.

Artillery briefly bombed the settlement on the west of the bridge before falling silent. It is thought that there maybe an infantry attack soon.

Our command post is in the Marks and Spencers. We fear attack by enemy infantry from the south, and our men have been in constant contact with enemy special forces in the north.

"4 terrorist sympathizers have been impaled on the East side of the bridge, they should be dead in a week or so." Thomas Griffin reported to the president before immediately hanging up. He positioned the troops around the eastern side of the bridge, sending 100 on the other side further down the river. The attack would be early morning.

Thank you for your help, in turn as you seem to have the military knowledge that we only dream of, we wish for you to take command of our rebel forces in Brent (1000 men and women). Our Commander General Calva will keep control of our forces in the hills.

Reuters Report:

Wintrees Defence forces have taken what is left of the south of the Brent City centre, they have retaken 75% of the main high street and are in bitter fighting for the rest of it. Rebels still seem to hold the majority of the rest of the city centre and their positions are being strengthened by foreign infantry dropped just hours ago.

The Command Centre in Hampcourt state that their fighter-bombers have started to bomb the Landing Zone where the foreign infantry landed. Artillery has also been stepped up onto brent itself. Armour have moved into the areas taken by the infantry and special forces in the north have disappeared.

The Situation in Hedge is undercontrol and also all fighting has died out, only a few rebels are left in the settlement near the bridge and are under attack as I speak.

It was early morning. The sun started rising in the sky. The troops prepared for the massacre that would surely follow. Thomas Griffin was smoking in a bar across town with a radio next to him. He slowly reached for it and picked it up, "Its time for the mission, i want to make sure that every last one of those terrorists are executed by this time tommorow! Is that clear?"

"Yes sir!" The soldier shouted, than left one of the apartments the soldiers were in.

Suddenly 800 soldiers came charging across the bridge, firing at anyone in they're way. 5 Minutes later, south of the western side of Hedge bridge was attacked by 100 men, firing at people and launching grenades at rooftops to lure the terrorists out of hiding so that they could be disposed of. Machine gun fire filled the early morning air at 4:12 AM.

The Principality of Asheville is distressed at the conflict currently unfolding in the nation of Wintrees. We encourage all sides in the conflict to cease the escalation of this conflict before a minor internal conflict becomes a widespread war. As such, we offer the historic and beautiful city of Skyland as a site for peace negotiations should the parties involved wish to end this conflict before it becomes a major tragedy.

The FWF forces at Hedge where taken completely by surpise, with only a few of the rebels awake they fired anti-tank weapons at the attacking infantry, followed by a few rebels firing off their ak47s as the infantry attacking over the bridge.

They fell back, tripping over the wounded and half-asleep deeper into the settlement, out of the original 200 only 20 now still lived, loosing 120 in the attack by Yurka forces, most being overun in the trench facing south by enemy infantry.

We believe that we have been misunderstood, we are not taking any sides in the war, nor will any of our troops set foot on Wintrees soil. Wintrees Naval Ships, failing to be attacked by the enemy fleet, attack the landing beaches, using the ship mounted guns as well as missiles and fighter-bombers.

Wintrees Infantry and Armour are now activity engaged with Galdania forces in the city, taking looses in the region of 30 armour and 100 infantry from bomber attacks as well as attacks on Galdania forces, the artillery in turn loosing 15 guns.

2 Regiments (1200 men) of Infantry board their troop transports and speed around to the North of the city, hoping to be able to cut off any supplies from from the landing beaches. Anti-aircraft battaries are set up as close to the advancing friendly forces as possible.

The last enemy forces at Hedge are finished off and the town is declared a safe zone, the defence forces stationed there board trucks to start there movement towards the enemies last position, Brent.

"SIR The air force has arrived."

Knowing what the Yukkans do to prisoners, the Galdanian soldiers in Brent have refused to surrender.

At least fourteen Galdanian fighters were ready to engage the airforce of the defenders, while six bombers continued striking the WinTrees army.

Sixteen NAK missiles have been fired by the Galdanian submarines. NAK missiles are anti-ground anti-air missiles that can be fired while the submarine is unsubmerged.

The Galdanian forces in Brent are few, but they continue attempting to fight, shooting from behind ruined walls and attempting to sneak up on the enemy to stab them with their combat knives.

I've been allied w/ him for a while. Also, last time I chacked, WinTrees had just purchased a plnet off of me-that certainly makes him just a wee bit more advanced.

Galdanian naval Command has said that it will send eleven more ships to Wintrees, most of them anti-sub vessels.

Seeing enemy forces approach, Galdanian marines and tanks advance to clash with the enemy. Among the Galdanian forces are eight Apocalypse assault tanks, of which only one hundred have ever been made. They are equipped with twin 120mm cannons and auto-launching Zdyrkov missile systems.

While the Galdanians were outnumbered, their tanks are hulking behemoths, capable of crushing other vehicles beneath their treads.

Battleships from along the southern coast launch more cruise missiles at South Genn at military installations and known government centres.

In the interests of My own people a census was taken. They want the war to end. I am withdrawing my troops fromn the sout of wintrees. I will focus on keeping the peace in brent. The Local population there has expressed interest in my country. Be it now i turn away no-one from my boarders.

Our soldiers have come to liberate Hedge, and, with that accomplished we will leave on the following conditions.

1)Galdania cease attacking WinTrees
2)WinTrees is allowed to keep the western side of Hedge.

Speaking on behalf of the FWF, Galdania makes these demands:

"The North-Western area of Wintrees, including the area from Brent and the ocean to the major rivers, be given over to the control of an independant government, that will administer itself however it chooses, under international law. This nation will be recognized by Wintrees, and will be guarenteed sovereignty."

These terms WILL be met.

The Brent question has long been a serious issue for us, only a small, but very loud faction of the population there want to become a "free" country. What about the the majority that want to stay wintreeian?

More importantly, Brent becoming a free state is a huge defensive problem for us. Several major bases are in the area of the country. The Brent Government would be hostile to us and the supporters of Wintrees in their new country. This can only lead to bloodshed, 1st of the population and then another all out war.

Will Galdania run this new state? Within the boarders and sea lanes of Wintrees? We think so, and will not permit this.

Let me remind you Gladania, that the people of Wintrees have a warrior Tradition, passed down by the Gurkhas that 1st settled this island after world war 1. We will not backdown, your missile may hit us, 1000s may die. But you are fighting in a foriegn country, far from your home, how will your population react to this? You are fighting the FWFs "War" for them. There is little of the FWF left, their stronghold, Brent City is gone. There leader is most probably dead and what remains of any FWF forces hide in the hills hunted by our forces.

Invasion of our country will lead to a Vietnam situation. You will loose. And don't forget our allies in Ssakura.

However we know that you must save face. So we propose that Brent (whats left of it) is given home rule by the Wintrees Government. They are free to make their own laws and free to run their own Parliment. However they will still be part of the Wintrees Commonwealth.

OOC: Since no one has replied to fighting in the South, I'll assume there are no enemies there. That 'dropship' guy hasn't been around, so I'm guessing he's not going to be returning.

Galdanian armour near the outskirts of South Genn, advancing ahead of the infantry, who have received 600 more regular soldiers from the Galdanian colony of Nastico.

"Rakety! Rakety!" yelled one of the men from the Galdanian jeep, before the RPG blew the vehicle apart, killing the three men inside.

Wintrees Fighter bombers start continueus bombing runs on the enemy in the south. Ships on the coast attack the landing beaches using their cannon and also engage enemy ships at every chance.

Land forces in the form of 1,200 tanks move from their bases, mustering at an unknown location (OOC: North Genn). Infantry massing in the area of 65,000 men are moving towards defensive lines. Currently active are:

Genn Area

1,200 tanks either moving towards or already there(500 Currently on station)
65,000 Infantry either moving towards or already there(20,000 Currently dug in around North Genn)
120 Fighter Bombers
12 B-52 Bombers

The rest of the forces in the country are being made ready to move. The population are being armed from stock piled weapons (Note Conscription of 2 years means everyone has working knowledge of weapons)

Special forces are attacking supply lines as well as attempting Assiassnation missions against key Figures.

Wintrees Requests any support the International community can give against this unprovoked attack.

It was 7:47 A.M. that Saturday morning, and the citizens of New Nepal were enjoying their breakfast, while others were just waking up, and others still slept in.

The Missile flew over the water, carrying with it the Korgetznishev Gas.

At 7:48, The Missile crashed into a car driving on the road, and exploded.

The man inside the car was killed, but the rest of the people in the city were not. They all got extremely dizzy, and fell over, unconcious.

Galdanian ships were about to enter the city to heighten the war, but were called back, as were the military vessels on the south.

The entire Galdanian army, turned back, as if under some kind of spell. Artillery fired their last shells, tanks began rolling back to the boats, and the infantry, some who had just gotten off their boats, turned back and entered them once more, departing for Galdania.

At 7:51 A.M., Galdanian Red Army Command had received the transmission from the Wintrees government. They had accepted, and sent their reply saying so.

Galdanian guerrillas hopped into heliocopters, along with some of the FWF's remaining fighters. The rest of the FWF, and not more than ten Galdanian guerrillas, would stay in Wintrees, to see that Brent was correctly managed.

Maulan and his Generals have been monitoring the situation, and dispite our populances views on Galdania, we view their actions to be for once, apt.
However we warn WinTree's that once the situation is resolved, removing Galdanian forces may be problematic, we hope that in voicing this concern, it will not occur.

We wish to offer assistance but it is unadvisable for Fuggolian and Galdanian forces to be placed near each other, anything else may be considered.
