Hatcham Woods

At 15:56 hours UMT, Arnold Twattington declared the Republic of Hatcham Woods after months of bloody fighting in the region. Much territory is still in dispute, but the George Green Guerrilla movement has been vanquished, though DG terrorists remain at large on the outskirts of the country and unclaimed space.
The military have gathered around Twattington, a retired General, as being the man to lead the new nation away from the anarchy that previously beset the region. In a speech given that day, he said:
"It is my intention to bring stability to Hatcham Woods, to maintain law and order and oversee the country until such time as democracy and freedom are obtainable goals for all men. Oh and I suppose women as well. Can we edit that last bit?"
Critics have said that Twattington is merely a puppet and that real power lies with the Military and that talks of democratic freedoms are little more than empty promises, so as to gain legitimacy on the international community, for the trade and economic aid it sorely needs.
Twatttington released the following statement to the international community.
"Due to the recent instability we are naturally concerned with maintaining the soverignty of our borders. We hope to put the troubles behind us, and work together on the international scene for a better global community."
