System One reaches to the stars
There is a certain point in the galaxy, rather a long way from Sol III, slowly moving about a single planet in a system on the edge of knowledge.
This point is speaking.
The transmission shows the shining bridge of a capital warship, the viewports show space. In the background, men bustle at stations, reading unkown script, sending messages, and pressing switches.
In front of the camera, stands a rather taller man, wearing an important looking uniform, a few medals are pinned on his chest.
"Greetings, to whomever may recieve this. We are System One, a small solar system, on the Rim, and, as you may have discovered, we now have space travel. Though, we have had this ability for quite a while, it was limited to small, in-system travel, and we could barely make interplanetary flights, much less colonize.
Those days are over, because, two cycles ago, we recieved this ship.
We were sending a shuttle up to do repairs on a satilite that had been struck by a micrometeor, when the shuttles sensors detected a large mettallic object.
We found this ship.
So, we calculated, and put it into orbit, and repaired it. After finding its blueprints in the computer, we began to anylize those and use them to build more ships.
We are now transmitting a blind signal on the comm system of that ship, all who hear this, please respond."

OOC: Just doing the one ship?, quite sensible if you do.. :D
IC: *A KN Dish picks up the transmission, and a tight beam is sent back*
Welcome to the great beyond, we hope you will explore in peace.
With only a slight delay, a response is transmitted. The video channel shows humanoid face, entirely sculpted out of a dark metallic substance. The glowing blue eyes flash as microcodes scroll across their surface. There is no mouth, only a smooth metal plate. A pulsing sound emanates from the audio channel a half-second before it is translated into speech.
"We of the Colony of Digiton have received your transmission and bid you welcome. Although we are not a spacefaring collective, we wish you success in your explorations. If you are not a warmongering species, we invite you to converse with us at your leisure. There is much we may be able to offer each other."
With that, the transmission ends.

Lithos Command Carrier, high orbit over Earth - 15:36 EST Earth Time
**Incomming transmission**
after a few moments of decrypting, the comms officer turned and spoke with the captain
"Sir, an unidentified ship has sent out a message on all channels that they are a newly space-faring race wishing to make contact."
"Do we have the exactly location of the source?"
"Not yet, computers working that out right now."
"Send a message back, 'We are a space-faring race wishing to make contact as well. Please tell us where we could meet you in person.' Don't give them the coordinates of our other world, just Earth's."
"Yes sir, transmitting now"
The transmission was sent, in hopes of finding a new ally. The massive carrier slowly turned out of orbit and in the general direction of the transmission.
'Soon we will be in subspace' the admiral thought 'and then it is up to them what happens'
"All hands, yellow alert. Prepare for subspace jump. 5 minutes."
OOC: Yeah, my 'fleet' is basicaly one Drednaught (star warshish), and a few space shuttles armed with mass drivers.
IC:
Returned to KN:
We are greatful for your welcome, and wish you well. We will, of course, remain peacful until threatened ourselves, we do not enjoy violence, but if it must be, it shall.
Returned to Digiton:
Thank you for the welcome, we would be greatful for technological trade, our specialty is nanotechnology, and we have developed many uses for it. Also, we have not intention of warmongering, even if we desired to do so, a single warship would not be enough to win any war
returned to Lord Edward:
"Greetings, we would be happy to meet with you, we will prepare a room.

We welcome you in peace then System One, our location is *coordinates are sent which will land the ship if they decide so, outside the system*.

We are greatful Kurai Nami, transmitting landing coordinates, if you decide to visit SI

After looking over the file, Dr. Helmer was ecstatic, as usual. But more so thsi time than last. The last one was just some long-lost solars, but this looked to be some new alien thingy. His excitement died down a bit when he realized that Chameleon and Flagship were preocupied, but a standard Aquila would be almost as impressive. In any case, as sone as point of origin was confirmed, a ship was dispatched.
somewhere within a 10 kiloklik radius of the point of origin, a purple, trilaterally symmetric ship about 150 meters across flashed into view.
Native vessels, this is an Eniqciri Eploratory Vessel. We have recieved your message, and advise you to be more careful. Someone hostile might've recieved it.
To Eniqcir:
We would have been more careful, unfourtunatly, our only transmitter is a reverse engineered distress beacon and a two way ship-ship, neither of which has scanning/locator capabilities, so basicaly, we can only talk to everybody, or somebody who has already talked to us.
In any case, may we offer you resupply and rest on our planet, mayhaps we can make a deal with your government to purchase some landing craft, we have to leave our crews on this ship for six month periods due to costs involved in our own shuttle fleet.

It seems, then, that you are in need of better telescopy equipment. A stopover on your world is unnecessary. What is the state of artificial gravity on your vessel, and what is the length of your month?
