T-08 Vatutin Main Battle Tank

http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-10/415311/experiment.JPG

The T-08 was developed on the T-06 chassis with extensive improvements and a complete redesign of the armor and framework. The T-08 will fulfill the ARSB Military's role of a heavy combat tank capable of heavy land combat against heavily armored targets and/or heavily armed targets. The T-08 was built to deal serious damage and also take plenty of damage.

Crew- 4 (Driver, loader, gunner, commander)
Dimensions-
Height- 2.9 meters
Weight- 64 tons
Length- (main body)- 7.2 meters
Width- 3.7 meters

Speed (max. road paved)- 90-110 km/hour
Speed (Max. road unpaved)- 75-100 km/hour
Speed (off-road)- 50-90 km/hour

Engine- SB-HTPAE-E8 Diesel electric assist engine with SB-ATPT-C2 turbocharger and SB-ATRS radiator system. The SB-TPEA system aides the main diesel engine in using an electric high-revolution engine to allow unsurpassable acceleration then allowing an immediate crankshaft lock into the diesel to allow smooth transfer from each version of power. The electric system is powered by the new Soviet Bloc hydrogen fuel cells (see the Zvarinograd AZ-MD post) arranged in a 16-cell stack that provides enough power to run the engine at full power for upwards of 20 minutes. The only problem is it needs an extensive power build up (there's a small air-intake located near the rear of the main body to take in air as well as six 3 gallon hydrogen tanks to assist the hydrogen fuel cell) that can take nearly 15-20 minutes. The electric assist engine provides astronomical acceleration and fuel conservation (as it kicks in to assist diesel engine whenever needed) while the diesel engine provides the sheer power a tank demands.

Transmission- SB-AHTTIV-T8 Infinitely-variable© transmission. The infinitely variable transmission allows for virtually any gear or power shift to used and can be swiftly changed into any super gear, then you can shift into any power shift gear for enhanced power, speed, and traction. All gears are mounted on seperate pivots and other gears to allow near infinite amount of gears for any condition traveled in.

Range- 800 km

Systems-
ALMRS/TTAC-04 Mk. III system: Tracks up to 60 enemies and ranks them according to range, heading, threat level, and tank-type to provide best possible firing solution. Also computes MOA and other variables and automatically sets turret and barrel to correct heading (when this feature is engaged) and can fire on up to two targets simultaneously (assuming ATGM's are on their respectable slides). Also tracks and targets enemy targets at up to 500 ft. altitude and up to 30 miles away.
SB-AFCS-S1 system: This advanced fire control system allows for the T-08 to engage moving targets while the T-08 is on the move. The barrel will always remain aimed at target while tank is in motion and will not waiver even over small hills, dips, bumps, and other obstructions. The barrel will always target enemy unit unless commander targets a new target or disengages system. The SB-AFCS-S1 system will continually track all targets and align barrel to fire on the target even if the target is on the move, the barrel will constantly update and move with the target while computing wind, weather, and MOA abilities for the best possible accuracy. The barrel will move on two different axis'. The commander's station is outfitted with nightvision capabilities, infrared capabilities, radar tracking capabilities (if an EW, radar aircraft, or radar station is near and able to send information), and advanced targetting systems. The commander's station is also outfitted with a periscope with nightvision, infrared capabilities, and a computerized screen to locate targets if they are obscured. Coupled with this system is the ALRS (Advanced Laser Range-finder System) which utilizes a laser rangefinder with a triple layer screen with crystals at different angles to scatter any enemy lasers that are attempting to disable the rangefinder. The rangefinder laser passes through a roughly 3mm hole in the screen.

ARENA Mk. II: Scrambles enemy ATGM's radars and tracking systems. Also interferes with all ATGM tracking systems and/or other guided weapons' systems.

Shtora-3 defense suite: Scrambles enemy laser rangefinder, making it nearly impossible for enemy tank to fire, unless they guess the range. Also scrambles enemy communications systems and tracking systems. Also interferes with enemy laser-based systems and laser-type weapons by using a controlled beam of ultraviolet rays to scatter the laser (communications systems, weapons systems, rangefinder systems)

AEISCN-01: Shares target information with other friendly tanks in the field along with other information, also allows friendly tanks in large numbers to make coordinated attacks through out the battlefield. Also allows friendly tanks to instantly reorganize into new squadrons and divisions for new assaults and also relays all information back to command. This system also checks in every 2 minutes (or shorter; can be adjusted) with GPS and military satellites to update terrain and enemy movements. Also takes updated information and relays it to the commander's screen which displays all friendly tanks, enemy tanks, standing orders, enemy formations, buildings, objects, and other environmental objects. Coupled with this system is the SB-LRRCS (Long-range Radio communications set) with a range of roughly 450 miles.
NBC System SB-CAP-1 - This NBC system protects against nuclear, biological, and chemical threats as well as seal of the internal areas of the tanks from the outer environment, relying on an SB-AIR-M air recycling and cleaning unit to provide breathable oxygen to the tank's crew.

Periscope systems- Twin periscopes (commander periscope mentioned before)- Gunner periscope is outfitted with infrared technology, night vision tech, and the AEISCN-01 system (which shows enemy units based on satellite and aircraft intelligence or intel from other friendly ground untis).

Armor-
Layer one- 7/8in wide galvanized steel with powder coated exterior
Layer two- 1.25 inch Aluminum alloy honey-comb layer
Layer three- Kaktus-III ERA (Soviet Bloc-modified) with layer of 1/16th inch galvanized/treated steel behind it
Layer four- 1/2inch aluminum alloy honey-comb layer with SB-ACMCAS-2L- Advanced Coarse Materiel Composite Armor System which uses a layer of coarse ceramics sandwhiched between a steel/aluminum layer.

Armament-
152mm smoothbore SB-LBC-C8 main gun with SB-HS heat shield system
12.7mm anti-aircraft machine gun
7.62mm or .50 caliber gunner's MG
7.62mm PKT coaxial MG

12 smoke grenade launchers (8 with smoke grenades, 4 with flares)
Turret-side mounted area for addition of an ATGM rocket pack
ATGM slide on other side of turret.

Enhanced survival functions- increased armor over engine compartment and radiator. Enhanced armor protecting fuel tank, hydrogen cell area, and battery area.

SB-AHDU which transfers engine exhaust into a special dissipator unit that fuses the exhaust and heat into cooled water from hydrogen cell and dissipates it out rear of unit and onto track assembly.

SB-ASFS - Advanced Snorkeling and Fording System- allows unit, at the touch of a button, to disengage head dissipator system (SB-AHDU), and to engage the flip-up snorkel system which allows the tank to ford up to 3 meters

Cost- $2.4 million USD

Caption: A reconnaisance SAH-03 during trials

The SAH-03 is capable to engage:

Ground units (Armor, infantry, enemy positions and fortifications)
Naval ships
Submarines (with proper equipment)
Enemy aircraft (low altitude and helicopters)

Enhanched combat survivability functions include:

Shielding of vital components by less important ones with armour composite plates in between and on outer shell;
Main and tail rotors blades are made of super-strong composites free from secondary destruction effect;
Back-up emergency hydrualics systems stored deep within the SAH-03 to allow it to still function properly if main hydraulics fails;
Armoured pilot's cockpit is fitted with ceramic armoured fuselage, bullet-proof windshields and armoured partition between crew members;
Self-sealing polyurethane foam-filled fuel tanks with enhanced composite armor protection;
Fuel system outfitted to deny any explosions, along with re-route systems to re-route fuel flow if the onboard computer deems it safe to.

The SAH-03 is outfitted with enhanced survivability functions with a dampening zone in front of pilot that can crush inwards in event of a controlled crash and can increase survivability in an unplanned crash. Enhanced frame design also improves survivability.

The SAH-03 is equipped with dual SB-MCESMHHE-HE3 turbines that can momentarily extend compression and strain variables to allow for extreme maneuvers and other combat variabls.

Also for survivability:
Infrared signature suppressors on engine manifold, exhuast ports ;
Radar warning receivers, advanced anti-missile equipment, rotor brake, chaff&flares, IFF, infrared jammers ;
Specialized noise reduction and dampering around tail rotor, reduces noise by roughly 60 percent. Blades and blade housing has been strengthened and reinforced to increase survivability;

Armament:

Hardpoints: 12 (6 on each pylon) Can hold up to: 24 medium missiles (both AA and A-G), up to 18 larger missiles (AA and A-G), and up to 36 smaller missiles (AA and A-G), as well has gun pods, advanced designator and sensor pods, scout pods, rocket pods, rocket racks, laser-guided bombs.

Cannon: Located under nose, outfitted for the S55-QB 12.7mm 4-barrel Chaingun or S55-QC 23mm twin-barrel cannon layouts

Systems:
ALMRS/TTAC-04 Mk. II system: Tracks up to 210 enemies and ranks them according to range, heading, threat level, and unit-type to provide best possible firing solution. Tracks their range and heading at ranges up to 200km. Can fire on up to 10 enemy units simultaneously.

ARENA Mk. II: Scrambles enemy ATGM's radars and tracking systems. Also disables enemy jamming systems on missiles and aircraft, interferes with enemy radar and interferes with enemy tracking systems.

AEISCN-01: Shares target information with other friendly units in the field along with other information, also allows friendly units in large numbers to make coordinated attacks through out the battlefield. Also allows friendly units to instantly reorganize into new squadrons and divisions for new assaults and also relays all information back to command. This system also checks in every 2 minutes (or shorter/longer; can be adjusted) with GPS and military satellites to update terrain and enemy movements. Also tracks and labels targets and sends their coordinates and readings through satellites and ground antennae to control centers, ground forces, air forces, and naval forces.

SB-ACDAMS-02: Anti-missile and countermeasure deployment system. Automatically launches countermeasures and scrambles enemy radar as well as providing the pilot with paths that provide a chance to out-maneauver the missile (not likely). If feature is engaged, when a certain missile threat level is detected (set in by pilot or CO) the helicopter can act on its own to effectively out-maneuver the missile through maneuvers a normal human could not even think of. Downside of this feature: May cause blackout of pilot due to excessive G-forces, if the pilot is found to be unconscious, the helicopter will act on its own until the pilot regains consciousness by heading for a friendly area and by engaging threatening targets.

AHUD-3D: Advanced Heads-Up Display, displays all information about enemy unit including possible routes. Provides direct fire scenarios and target areas. Can be configured to cover entire window-area of cockpit. Also controls a small visor on helmet than can be configured to track pilot's retina movements, head movement's or act independently to engage enemy targets.

SAH-04 Advanced Attack Helicopter
http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-10/415311/SAH-04.JPG

The SAH-04 was built on the SAH-01's body frame, adding a more efficient and slightly more powerful turbine. Other improvements include:
Advanced avionics
SB-AEAS- Advanced Exhaust Assist System
SB-AVTVH- Advanced Vectored Thrust, Version Helicopter- Vectored thrust capability allows SAH-04 to execute advanced maneuvers and make quicker movements.
SB-AAHCS- Advanced Autonomous Helicopter Control System- In the event the pilot and WSO are killed or incapacitated, this feauture can be activated manually or automatically (in event of pilot and WSO death) to automatically pilot the helicopter. Granted, this 'robotic' helicopter is not quite as effecient or deadly as a human-piloted one, but if it weren't for this system the helicopter would be lying in pieces on the ground, so, in the end, this 'robotic' helicopter could prove useful. When this feuture is activated, the helicopter will continue on entered waypoints, track and engage enemy targets, and destroy objectives along a pre-entered waypoint path. If crews of multiple helicopters are killed but the helicopters are still in operating condition, this system automatically communicates with the other helicopters, trade target information, and set up attack plans. If a commanding officer does not want these pilot-less helicopters to engage targets on their own, they can be configured to return to the home airfield, preventing large amounts of time and money being spent on purchasing new helicopters, searching for crew members, cleaning up the pieces, and defending the crash site. Also, when configured, the helicopter with this feature can be operated by a crew that is at the home base, becoming an Unmanned Aerial Combat Vehicle of sorts.
Updated ALMRS/TTAC-03 version- ALMRS-TTAC-03 Mk. III

The SAH-04 is capable to engage:

Specialized noise reduction and dampering around tail rotor, reduces noise by roughly 80 percent. Blades and blade housing has been strengthened and reinforced to increase survivability.

SB-AHES/RES- Advanced Helicopter Ejection Seat/ Rotor Ejection System- In the event of a critical hit on the helicopter, the pilots can activate their ejection seats, which will signal the turbine to shut down, the rotor shaft to lock up at a certain point and eject the rotors down and away from the helicopter, leaving a clear path of exit for the ejection seats. After the rotors are ejected, the cockpits are blown off by explosive charges and the ejection seats are fired. The entire process takes roughly 3 seconds.

AN/ALQ-136(V)2 CMS (Zvarinograd):

The AN/ALQ-136(V)2 CMS is designed for the Special Electronics Mission Aircraft (SEMA) and the Special Operations Aircraft (SOA) -- RC-12, MH-47E, MH-60K, EH-60A. This CMS is programmed to respond to the pulse radar signals of the most critical threat weapon system anticipated to be encountered by SEMA and SOA in a hostile environment. It can operate against multiple threat weapons systems simultaneously. It has programmable modules, covers a broader frequency range than the (V)1 CMS and has built-in preplanned product improvement capabilities. The AN/ALQ-136(V)2 CMS consists of three types of line replaceable units (LRUs). These LRUs include one receiver/transmitter (RT) assembly, one control indicator assembly and four antennas. The RT assembly utilizes state-of-the-art gate array and gallium arsenide lightweight circuit boards. The total system weight is 72 pounds.

Russian Aviaconversia GPS and GLONASS Jammer (Zvarinograd):

THE GPS/GLONASS JAMMER HAS AN OUTPUT POWER OF 4 WATTS AND CAN EFFECTIVELY DENY USE OF GPS IN AN AREA RANGING AS FAR AS 150-200 KM. DR. ANTONOV SAID THAT HE HAS ALREADY WORKED IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE RUSSIAN MILITARY WITH DIRECTIONAL ANTENNAS FOR HIS JAMMER SO THAT IT CAN BE USED TO DIRECTIONALLY JAM WHILE MAINTAINING SAFE AREAS FOR FRIENDLY FORCES TO ACCESS GPS OR GLONASS. THE COEFFICIENT OF ANTENNA AMPLIFICATION RANGES FROM 2-5, DEPENDING ON THE TYPE OF ANTENNA USED. THE ELECTRICAL INPUT SUPPLY IS EITHER BATTERY OR DC LINE VOLTAGE. DR. ANTONOV PRODUCED BOTH 15 V AND 6 V SUPPLIES THAT RAN OFF OF 230 VOLTS LINE INPUT. THE JAMMER DISSIPATES 25 WATTS WHEN IN USE AND WEIGHS BETWEEN 8-12 KG WITHOUT BATTERIES, DEPENDING ON THE CONFIGURATION. IN THE FRONTAL VIEW OF THE JAMMER SHOWN IN BOTH ENCL 1 AND 2, TWO KNOBS CAN BE SEEN AT THE BASE. THE LEFT KNOB IS FOR FREQUENCY MODULATION, AND RANGES FROM 0-6 MHZ. THE RIGHT KNOB IS FOR "VELOCITY CHANGE OF MODULATION" AND RANGES FROM 44-270 HZ. A PORTION OF THE ABOVE DATA IS CONTAINED IN ENCL 3, WHICH IS IN RUSSIAN. THE RO HAD ENCL 3 LOOSELY TRANSLATED, VERBALLY.

AN/ALQ-144A(V)3 CMS(Zvarinograd):

The AN/ALQ-144A(V)3 CMS is the upgrade version of the AN/ALQ-144(V)3. It is an active, continuously operating, omni-directional and electrically fired infrared (IR) jammer. This CMS is designed for use on AH-1F and AH-64A/D helicopters to confuse or decoy threat IR missile systems. The AN/ALQ-144A(V)3 CMS is designed to provide jamming of all known IR threat missile systems when operated on helicopters equipped with low reflective paint and engine exhaust suppressors. The AN/ALQ-144A(V)3 CMS consists of a transmitter assembly and an operator control unit (OCU) with dual capabilities. The OCU controls both the AN/ALQ-136(V)1/5 and the AN/ALQ-144(V)3 or AN/ALQ-144A(V)3. The OCU has a 25-pin connector assembly. The total system weight is 30 pounds.

Armament:
(DP-21 can carry four larger missiles internally and two on each wing)

up to 8x AA-3E Air-to-air missiles (bought from Freedom Country and currently being used on the first six DP-21s)

up to 8x CFAR ACM11 Long arm XRAAM (Crookfur)
Power planet: initial boost rocket followed by Ramjet (vectored thrust)
Speed: mach 5
Range: 15-350km+
Length: 6m
Warhead: 19kg targeted blast/ frag
Launch weight: 370kg
Guidance:
Post launch: inertial strap down navigation with midcourse updates
End game targeting:
Module A: Active radar seeker kicks in at 30km (equipped with advanced ECCM systems and home on ECM mode), backup provided by IR seeker.
Module B: millimetric wave radar sensor (shorter range than radar but far more jam resistant and higher definition), backup provided by a combination IR/ EO seeker

The ACM11 is a very advanced missile designed to fulfill the role of an extended range interceptor missile capable of engaging the full spectrum of airborne targets including stealth aircraft.

The launching aircraft needs only a brief radar contact to provide a intercept vector for the missile. On generation of vector and on authorization of launch (can be fully automated) the missile detaches from the launching aircraft and the boost rocket engages accelerating the missile to the operating speed of the ramjet motor which accelerates the missile to mach 5. During the flight towards the target the missile can receive any required number of vector updates from the launching aircraft, using a thrust vectoring system to maneuver. When the missile reaches engagement range it becomes fully autonomous and using its thrust vectoring system can pull off extreme maneuvers to gain the optimum position for the detonation of the warhead. The twin seeker systems allow operation in even the most difficult electronic warfare scenarios.
The 2 Seeker head options are purely for customer preference, both offer exceptional ability but module A offers more options of end game engagement with it’s home on jam mode and a slight advantage against faster aircraft with its longer ranged primary sensor while module B has slightly better performance against stealth and smaller targets.
