(Silvaria, Ur-Gruickstan) A crisis has erupted in the tiny nation of Ur-Gruickstan, where early this morning supporters of the Prince Halbah, 5th in line to succeed the Holy Emperor, staged an uprising in the country's capital of Silvaria.
The supporters, hardliners of the Ur-Gruick faith, are upset with recent government decisions that they claim have undermined the basic foundations of the state religion.
Although it is against religious law to oppose the wishes of the Emperor, Prince Halbah and his supporters have stated that these recent decisions, which permit such things as eating fish on Thursdays, electricity, and citizenship to members of other faiths, clearly show that his Holiness, the Emperor, has been disposed of, along with his four sons, and that a governing council now illegally rules in his steed.
As of 8 this morning, the troops loyal to Prince Halbah had succeeded in surrounding the royal palace, where troops loyal to the Emperor are said to be putting up a valiant resistance against overwhelming odds.
This uprising ends more than 50 years of political stability, an era that began when the Emperor Bafala, father to both the current ruler and Prince Halbah, emerged victorious from a lengthy and bloody civil war.
