Today, the Federation of Big Long Now announced the downing of the legal ages of tobacco and alcohol after a long study. But there are conditions.
Tobacco: The legal age to purchase tobacco has been lowered to 16, allowing people under 18 to purchase the equivalent of 40 (8,000 cigarettes) packs of cigarettes each month. Once the teenager reaches 18, the limit will be exempt. If for any reason the person(s) exceed the limit, an extra $3.00 will be tacked onto the final purchase price of the cigarettes. A special identification card can be issued at any licensing department around BLN, which will keep track of the purchases. The card is required for purchasing tobacco.
Alcohol: The legal age to purchase alcohol products has been lowered to 18, allowing people under 21 to purchase the equivalent of 40 (240 bottles) 6 packs of alcohol each month. Once the person reaches 20, the limit will be exempt. If any reason the person(s) exceed the limit, an extra $3.75 will be tacked onto the final purchase price of the alcohol. A special identification card can be issued at any licensing department around BLN, which will keep track of the purchases. The card is required for purchasing alcohol products. (Except for rubbing alcohol, fingernail polish remover, cough syrup, or any other health product.) However if one under 20 is caught driving under the influence of alcohol, their card will be suspended for 45 days (1 month, 15 days) or until further notice from the courts.
