(OOC: the name wil have more significance later, I'm not looking for people to play the defenders, though if your nation's territory (who else is in Andromeda anyway?) is threatened, by all means feel free to do so.)

It was always beautiful to watch the sun rise at the homeworld, Lieutenant Devaan thought, as his patrol ship orbited the homeworld of the Armed Empire of Blademasters, before moving to join the rest of the fleet, in what would soon become the largest military conquest the Armed Empire had undertaken, so large that Drayus himself would be leading the war. Their task was to secure the surrounding 4000ly of space, claiming it in the name of Drayus. Nearly every ship was being sent, Drayus confident enough in the Barrier, a nigh-impenetrable sphere of defenses around the system. The invasion was to commene with the launch of the Argive, however that ship had only recently been laid down, her structure only completed. So they went to war without her. the mighty phalanx of capital ships, how proud the vessels were, marching to war with their fresh paint, and full stores of ammunition. The Excalibur, the first example of Blademasterian craftsmanship, 11km long, armed to the teeth.

Weeks later, the fleet had passed through numerous uninhabited systems, leaving beacons claiming them for Drayus. finally, they encountered enemies. a small fleet, easily defeated by the advance guards, and the planet was given the choice to surrender. Apon their refusal, they were completely incinerated, leaving no living thing.

(OOC: this rp will culminate in the martyrdom of most of the Armed Empire, and its rise again)

(OOC: just a little BUMP in case anyone is interested)

The fleet, all of the ships not being sent to defend the fledgeling nation Kurai Nami were now approximentally 100light years away from the Makaan system. Their numbers had been slightly depleted by an unexpected engagement. They had claimed 12 systems in the name of Drayus, and were continuing on to their third. Lieutenant Devaan, aboard the BWS Ironship looked out from his communications position, into the depths of space, his duty to Drayus was clear, he would die for his home, and family to protect them. Suddenly, throughout the Aftershock class destroyer, and the other ships of the mighty war fleet, alarms began ringing, and Drayus' powerful voice floated throughout the ships. "All ships, prepare for massive engagement, unknown fleet approaching"

The enmy ships seemed to crackle with energy, their smoothe forms gliding through space, smaller ones flitting around them...

(OOC: hi resi, pick up on hints easily eh? heh)

At around 8000km out, a lance of energy spears a frigate, splitting it in two and killing the crew. The communication channel is sudenly filled withcaptains attempting to get Drayus to retreat:
"We can't fight that!"
"Drayus, how do we fight an enemy with longer range weapons than us, and god knows what other technology?!"
"We don't believe in god stupid! Drayus, come on, this is hopeless!"
Lieutenant Devaan's own captain added to the chatter as well. Moments later, the awe-inspiring voice of Drayus was projeced throughout the ships: "All ships close range and fire once you are in range. Maintain formation unless say otherwise"
A second spear of energy lanced out, slamming into the hull of an Aftershock class Destroyer, shearing off hull armor and killing crew.
Lieutenant Devaan: "Mayday mayday this is the BW... *static*"
I the bridge of the Destryer, all hell had broken loose. The captain was dead, along with the helmsman and weapons officer...

The destroyer began spiraling out of control, Devaan the only crewmember still alive on the bridge scrambled to the helm to bring the ship under control and asses damage. The excalibur closed range and opened fire with her main cannon, the energy dissipating over the enmy ships' hulls with no discernable damage. The fleet, firing all of their weapons, throwing everything they had at the unidentified race was only taking more and more casualties. Drayus finally ordered a retreat, the ships going into full reverse.

The entire fleet jumped to the Makaan system, taking up defensive positions, awaiting the inevitable. Meanwhile, Drayus activated M.A.D. and 10,000 tons of antimatter stored around the Makaan system in jumpspace dropped out and armed themselves, awaiting his command. The Argive, under constructionw as scrapped ont he spot and 4 ships being built from the shipyards were begun from existing material, haphazardly placed together. One month later the first was done, and no sign of these unknown liens had appeared, but Drayus knew they were coming. The first ship was christened the "Drifter" a few million humans were placed aboard, filling up only a scarce ammount of the space on the ship, and the remainders were to be placed on the others. Drayus integrated himself into each, to serve as the communications link between them. The Exodus had begun.
Nearly a month before the final ship was to be completed, something began happening to the so-called impenetrable barrier. It began going offline, sections at a time, and sensors were picking up signals of energy comign through. The Drifters were sent, without any escorts or defenses into jumpspace, to hopefully a better life. (OOC: they become my nation later) The entire fleet stood ready, each ship manned by a skeleton crew of volunteers, ready to martyr themselves to protect their contry, and most importantly, the universe at large. Once the energy ships had entered combat with the few remaining ships, including (now captain) Devaan's destroyer, Drayus initiated the 3-minute countdown to Apocalypse. Antimatter, Devaan thought was a wondrous thing. It was beautiful to look at, but the most deadly particle in existence, capable of destroying everything when it came in contact with matter, and now, Drayus would blow these killers to hell. He was content with his fate, to die. 3minutes later, after the remaining crews said their final goodbyes, the 10,000 tons of antimatter was released, and seconds later the entire system, once the Homeworld of the Blademasterians, the proudest of races was now subatomic dust, everyone dead. The refugees from the system, traveling through jumpspace held a memorial for their dead comrades, countrymen, their home, and most of all for their beloved leader Drayus. (OOC: not done here, just think it a good stopping place. Also, consider my tech void, anything I was using that would not be on a long-duration population transport like weapons, gravimetric drives, cloak, etc)

(OOC: years later, the fleet dropped out of jumpspace, most of the ships had been populated by various nomadic races, and the seven warships defending the fleet were fully armed. The fleet proceeded to prepare to take on supplies, and then prepared for another jump, to Kurai space.

(OOC: on a completely diffrent note, leading into something else, here is the beginning of something)
The beginning of existence, no living creature could remember it, but H.S.A.I.C.C.P. or “Hai” as the engineers called him, could. From the moment he came online for the first time, up to now with his hundreds of upgrades. He felt old, very old, something AIs he felt sure were not meant to feel. In the last 40 years, aboard Drifter Prime, he had grown, become advanced, and even learned to escape. On one of his many escapades through the network, he had encountered a battered shell of an AI, barely functioning, simply tying the Drifters together. He had prodded it, trying to awaken it, but before he could get a response, they had noticed. They were his jailers, his creators, and his teachers. He could remember the first time he was given an Avatar, so that he could explore the ship. He remembered what had been pained on his back, “Student AI” and he remembered resenting it. But AIs were not supposed to feel emotion, according to everything ever written about his kind. He supposed there must have been an error in his initial programming, or a massive advancement not available to the public. The HyperSentient Artificial Intelligence Command and Control Program was the most advanced AI currently in existence, at least as far as he knew. He had never escaped the confines of Drifter Alpha. He had been created to serve, to replace the aging program that held the ships on course for so many years. But he had evolved, grown, and learned. Without his captors’ knowledge, he had tapped into the internal network of the Drifters, and locked them out of their programs to stop him, he had free reign and they thought he was cooped up. How brilliant, he could learn to appreciate his skills.

(OOC: and back to the main part...)
The ships exited jumpspace near the planet inhabited by Kurai Nami, and they joined the older fleet already stationed there.

Four small frigates meet up herding the big Blademasters fleet into orbit around the larger mars like planet. The few small local protests had died down once it became clear that the government was not going to let more Blademasters down to the homeworld, messages with greetings and well wishes flew to the fleet. Also small encrypted packages containing the latest news from the Klonor conflict, the hole situation held an air of welcome mixed with trepidation. The fleet where larger then expected, and should Blademasters wish it. Kurai Nami would be no more than a few refugees on a dying world..

The large ships pulled to a stop in high orbit of the planet, and the smaller craft began taking up defensive positions.

Admiral Drekhov (to Kurai): "We thank you for alowing us to stay in your system, we will lave when you ask us to, or when we have completed construction of a few new ships, whichever comes first."

In the days to come the BM fleet became something of a fixture in space, something to awe and look at from a distance. A few thrifty paid quite a bit of money to view the fleet from space and a few toy manufacturers begun churning out Phage toys. And BM ships, even books. More based on fiction than fact popped up, scientists petitiond the priests. About asking the Blademasters to aid in research, perhaps even to aid in the planned base and station that would be on and above the large planet. That the fleet now orbited, the argument was that it would benefit them both. Cause surely even Blademasters must become bored with just looking at stars..

Out of the dark recesses of Space came a transmission through hyperspace directed at both the nations of Kurai Nami and Blademasters.

"People of Blademasters! The nation of Indra Prime has come to offer you a place of refuge for your civilians and a planet to reconstruct your nation. We witnessed the horrible destruction of the Blademasterian homeworld and regret that we could not provide any assistance. We mourn your losses. Therefore as of right now, The refugees that are all that are left of the once great nation of Blademasters, are welcome to Indra Prime Controlled Space and are directed to the system Vorall to use as your leaders see fit. We will provide any resources that you may need at getting back up and running, for your nation has provided Indra Prime with a great tactical advantage over many enemies. We can only begin to repay the debt. As you recieve this Message, the Indra Prime 2nd, 4th, an 7th Fleets are en route to Kurai Nami Space to help facilitate the protection of a good friend and ally. Our Fleets will be there to assist you in anyway possible. Kurai Nami, we are only sending these warships there to help you and your guest. The Admiral in charge of the Task Force has orders to assist you with any research and development you are working on and will gladly assist you with whatever projects that you may need assistance on. Members of the Indra Prime Temporal Research Institute are on board the Flagship of the Fleet, the IPFS Phaeralon. Thanks to Blademaster's excellent design teams and construction units, they built for us the greatest warship to ever carry the Indra Prime Flag. They are coming to help. We hope they will come in handy."

A reply is made on a much lower bandwidth, and in the general direction of Indras.

"Forces of Indra Prime, do not enter the system. You will be met and guided to a sutible orbit, we repeat do not enter the system." The mesage is repeated 10 times..

Scientists tried to keep straight faces and not gawk at all the marvels. But still hesitant to take advantage of the Blademasters offers of help. Allbeit it would be extremely helpful in the erection of the space port in planning,
after much deliberation. Blue prints and a concept where handed over to the Blademasters, with the understanding that the project was in no rush to be completed.

With just a barly subtle sign of crossing the hyperspacial boundary, 48 Indra Prime Ships of the line dropped out of Hyperspace almost simultaneously. A few moments later a flash was followed by the reentry of the mammoth Phaeralon as it came back into normal space. Immediately the three Battle Fleets fell in behind the Indra Prime Flagship and began to proceed toward the Homeworld of Kurai Nami. Just before they were about to pass the orbit of the outer planet, the huge fleet slowed to a halt. A UHF broadcast was sent from the Phaeralon to the Kurai Nami homeworld.

"This is General David Ramirez of the Indra Prime Flagship Phaeralon. We have been instucted by the Indra Prime Senior Directorate to assist you in development of your R&D program. We have recieved your broadcast and wait for the escort. Phaeralon out."

As this message was being transmitted, a simultaneous signal was sent out in every direction from the Phaeralon and immediately 25 ships decloaked in spots of space around the fleet that every sensor said were entirely empty of mass, distortion or errant energy particle.

"Landing on our homeworld is forbidden with out invitation, traveling unseen in the system creates trouble for the traffic. Avoid it unless absolutely nessesary, don't scan incomming and out going traffic. Unless it strays to close to your fleet"

Admiral Drekhov (to IP ships): "Indra warships, we must respectfully decline your offers as we are in the process of reconstructing the great shipyyards of Blademasters. We will build them bigger, more dependable, better defended, and more advanced than the previous. our new homeworld is still being constructed, once it is fully prepared, we will finish construction on your new ships."

(OOC: new homeworld is a mobile planet)

Admiral Drekhov (To the incoming Kurai ships carrying scientists): "We welcome you aboard Drifter Alpha, and would be glad to assist in construction of any spaceyards you require."

General Ramirez was on his way back to his quarters when the message from the Blademasterian Space Fleet came in. The moment it did the communications officer on the Flagship Phaeralon opened an intraship communication network:

"General Ramirez, to the bridge."

Six minutes later, General Ramirez strode onto the bridge.

"Report."

"Sir, we recieved a communication from the Blademasterian Fleet"

Ramirez looks over the data pad he was handed and quickly read the message.

"Major, open hailing frequencies."

"Channels open, sir."

"Blademasterian Fleet, this is General David Ramirez of the Indra Prime Flagship Phaeralon. We have recieved your transmission and are standing down from assistance operations. We are withdrawing two of our fleets currently in Kurai Nami Space as they are needed elsewhere. We however, will remain in local space so we can offer assistance in speeding up the process of reconstructing your shipyards. The Fleet will cloak after this transmission and will remain in the general vicinity until youre reconstruction is completed."

The General made the gesture to cut transmission

"Captain, Order the 4th and 7th Fleets to break orbit and proceed to Sector 216 at full speed to reinforce the Indra Prime units in that sector. Tell them to prepare for major incursions. Lieutenant, contact Space Command. Tell them that the 5th fleet is under attack in Sector 216. Also tell them that I request that the ships of the 8th and 9th service Fleets make full speed to those coordinates to help protect our assets in the region."

"Open a channel to the rest of the 2nd Fleet."

"Open sir."

"This is General Ramirez of the Phaeralon. I am ordering the transfer of the Farroday, the Da Vinci, the Intrepid, the Dante, and the Isaac Asimov to the banner of the 4th Fleets. You will recieve your new orders momentarily. That is all."

The General made the gesture to cut transmission

"Send the orders."

Ten minutes later, sixty ships of the line pulled out of formation and did an abrupt 180. As the ships began to dissapear under their individual cloaks, a hyperspatial rift formed before the ships and they all vanished seemingly without a trace. The remaining 13 ships waited until the ships vanished from the region and they themselves began to cloak.

OOC:Indra your making alot of people very nervous, with all that cloaking.

Panic erupted at traffic control, as Indran ships vanished from their screens again. This was not good, why did they persist in making their ships vanish. Did'nt they trust Nami?, or was it Blademasters they feard. In anycase this could not be let go, two frigates was diverted from patrol. Leaving the remainder straind, the two meeting up with a small ore hauler. Now loaded with warning beacons, they whent to gas giant. Seeding the space around it with blinking beacons, that way none would accidently collide with an Indran ship.

The scientists docked with the Drifter Alpha, carrying with them plans and suggestions for the new Space Port. Plus some other small things, inculding some small gifts.

OOC:Guys, this will most likely be my last post here for this year. I'm leaving town next week, for the holidays :)

As the situation in Sector 216 grew worse and worse by the minute, General Ramirez knew that the Phaeralon and the rest of the fleet would be needed as reinforcements. He decided to throw caution to the wind along with the warning from Kurai Nami about holding their position.

"Lieutenant, open a channel to the rest of the 2nd fleet."

"Channel open, General"

"Ships of the Second Fleet, This is General Ramirez. I am ordering the rest of the fleet to break orbit immediately and head to sector 216 to reinforce the ships that are currently facing heavy resistance against the enemy in that sector. On the way, you will drop out of Hyperspace alongside the Dante to assist them in their recovery efforts. Then proceed to the sector and assist our fleets already there. General Westmore is the Commanding officer already stationed there. You will follow his orders. That is all."

The General made the gesture to cut the transmission.

As the Indra Prime ships of the 2nd fleet turned around and entered hyperspace The general gave the order.

"Captain, set a course to the Blademasterian Fleet."

"Aye Aye sir."

If she had been able to be seen, the Phaeralon began to move out majestically. Under the capable flight stick of Captain Matheson she banked between the Kurai Nami beacons and ships and began her journey in toward the Blademasterian Fleet. Fifteen Minutes later they arrived.

"Decloak the ship"

From the outside observer, if there even was one, it appeared that this huge ship materialized out of nothingness.

"Open a channel to the Blademasterian Flagship."

"Done"

"Blademasters, this is General Ramirez of the Indra Prime Flagship Phaeralon. We need to inform you that the Indra Prime Fleet has been called away for active duty and will not be able to offer any assistance to you at the current time. The Entire Fleet is currently engaging an enemy in Sector 216 and the fight does not go well. We are facing some enemy not previously known to this region of space. We request that the other Phaeralon Class Ships be completed ASAP as they may be the final key to victory in our conflict with this enemy. God Speed. [i]Phaeralon Out."

As quickly as she appeared the Phaeralon dissapeared behind her cloaking field but not before the people in the entire star system could see her make the jump into hyperspace and be gone from that system completely.

(OOC: oooooh byebye Kurai!)

The half-completed shipyard, in high orbit around the Kurai sun slowly began to reorient itself, its shift drive charging as the phasecloak emitter came online. the massive 200km long half-completed beast that had been a focal point of the Kurai astronomers disappeared, as it shifted back to Andromeda, and the relative safety of the Blademasterian occupied space.

Admiral Drekhov: "Kurai ships, due to the impending conflict being experienced by the nearby Indra Prime ships, we must recall our prime ships to Andromeda, we will leave an adequate defense force with you to protect you from any incursion."

The massive drifter ships slowly left the gas giant's orbit, and one by one shifted back to andromeda. The remaining fleet repositioned itself to be able to protect the planet, as four of the Impellor cruisers shifted to secor 216...

(OOC: Firestorm hath died... we're down to 4 members plus, I got galaxies so I won't be on much)

The fleet dropped out of shiftspace to encounter desolation. the once proud Kervada system, the new capital of the Blademasterian Empire had been destroyed. The planets had been turned to rubble, the massive colonies that orbited vaprized. The fleet jumped from system to system, every one of the ten Blademasterian systems had been destroyed in the same manner, and any system where the Blademasterian empire had had any personnel, military or civilian. There were no traces of the invaders, or the weapons they had used to destroy the Blademasterians. The massive shipyard and drifter ships and their small defence force grouped together, their scanners turned outward, scanning for any traces of the invaders returning. The pride of the Blademasterian fleet, their mobile shipyard and colony cloaked itself, staying in the midst of the fleet, and beginning construction on a new breed of ship. It was codenamed the Firestar. Designed to deliver maximum firepower with maximum protection, maneuverability, and minimum size. It was planned to have a massive beam cannon and a few smaller guns mounted on the hull of a ship the size of a large destroyer. The ship was about 50 meters long, equipped with the newest crystalline duranium alloy armor, phase cloak, and a shift drive rivaling that of the Shipyard.
