AS OF YET UNCLAIMED SPACEFARING EQUIPMENT DEGRADES ORBIT AND FALLS ON MISHRANI CITY

Earlier this morning the Mishrani City of Caldor was devestated as a satellite or light starship, or possibly unexploded munitions broke orbit and slipped through the earth's atmosphere, devestation is terrible with death tolls somewhere in the low millions, devestating for a nation of only 16 million, no one has claimed the piece of technology to fall...more news to come -Larry McKenna reporting

OOC: oh shit... it might have been one of my vessels... Runs to check on fleet... Damn't...

IC:

The 5CN will apologize to the Mishran government for destruction of the capital city by the falling remnants of a 5CN warship damaged and abandoned in the short conflict with the now extinct House Moritani.

The 5CN government is willing to provide restitution for the sufferers of this dreadful accident...

in a BBC broadcast later that day
*A middle aged black man in a flak vest over a suit, speaking in a British Accent*

-The political community is in shock today as a 5CN warship's smoldering remains fell from a degrading orbit into Mishran's primary business city. Mishrani government officials have come forward after the 5CN announcement, they had this to say...
*cuts to a scene of a older gentlemen, probably of Asia Minor decent, well cropped greying hair and a black suit with a deep blue tie, he stands over a podium with a black cloth draped over it.*

-We live in an era of technology, ships travel faster than light and fire weapons with ranges measured in Light Years. And yet with all this machinery the wrecks of a terrible war still wreak thier terrible destruction upon innocent civilians while they sleep. The Five Civilized Nations have stepped forward to offer thier condolences and accept responsibility for the event, Prime Minister Justice has instructed me to read this "We accept the apology of the Five Civilized Nations, such an obviously benign mistake does not warrant a responce, and the memory of the thousands who died in this mornings tragedy would not be honored with further blood."

Scientists and surveilance satillites confirm, a small armada of wrecked ships degraded from orbit earlier this morning, defense satilites, and the O-Zone stopped most of the wrecks left over from the Moritani War, the wreck of the 5CNS Indubitable, however, slipped through a hole in the defense net, and Mishran's complete lack of an Anti-ICBM network left them defenseless against the hulk. Final death toll comes out to 31,473 dead, 90,000+ wounded and 1,000 missing. Mishrani government officials have made it clear they do not seek vengance, simply help. A few days later on BBC
*Kent Schneider reports on the current condition of Mishran's main city after a report discussing Ben Aflek's and J-Lo's relationship*
Thunderstraati aid workers uncovered the last missing citizen of Mishran, greatful families have sent a veritable monsoon of letters to Thunderstaad's Capital and *a cut scene of a Mishrani girl of 20 passionatly kissing a Thunderstaadi worker when he pulls her father out of a pile of rubble* rejoicing is open and in the streets, with at least the first steps of coming to grips with the death over, joy at the tenacity of life, and the spirit of cooperation in rescuing what was once lost has overwhelmed every here at ground zero.
Mishrani delegate to the UN, Vlad Smidtgol appealed to the Security Council's decision not to grant Mishran Impoverished Nation Status, but was again turned down, with a veto vote from China, the international world at large has been glaring at Chinese Delegate Zhuge-Liang Te-Chung, but he has not budged on the vote, Economists are sure the vote has to do with Mishran's denouncing of China's Human Right violations, only 5 days ago.
On another more positive note, Mishran Delegate have arrived in the Capital of the Five Civilized Nations with a proposal for an international "extra-planatery impact deterrent organization" the group would plot Orbiting debris, as well as Asteroids on collision courses with the earth. Mishrani Engineers have stated they'd be willing to foot the bill, as long as a few other nations hopped on, willing to at least put thier name on it.

To the nation of Mishran---

I was just informed of the terrible tragedy that befell your nation recently, and I felt the need to personally inform you that you have the complete sympathy of the people of Argyres. Because of this horrific event, we have decided to extend a helping hand in your hour of need...

We will begin organizing food and humanitarian aid, which will be shipped as soon as ready. We can also send engineers, doctors, etc. if you so desire. Unforunately, our financial situation leaves us unable to donate much, but we will provide what ever else we can.

Our gorges on our homeplanet have been hurling seeds for decades now, spreading the reaches of the hivemind. These cacoons reach speeds of over 60,000 Miles per second. It is very possible that 1 hit the ship and either or both of the following scenarios happened:

1. Rapid decompression of the ship caused many problems causing the ship to lose control and fall into earth.

2. The egg split open whever it landed in the ship, formed a flower and a mat of organic matter and grew. It soon turned into a hive, and spawned our basic offensive aliens. Aliens killed everyone on the ship leaving the ship unmanned and prone for an incident.

that should clear up confusion on the second theory.

After discussion that the 5CN government has been going through, a dozen Meteor Class Assault Frigates has taken up position around the planet and begun to destroy the remains of the warships left over from the Moritani conflict.

Broadcast from the Citadel of Cala

A distinguished aging gentlemen stood up to the podium and began to speak. Behind him, the flags flew at half-mast to signify the shame and the mourning that the 5CN were feeling.

"The Five Civilized Nations is horrified by this recent act. By Executive Order 35690, a squadron of 5CN ships have gone into orbit and have begun eliminating the wrecks left over from the Moritani conflict.

In addition, two Engineering regiments have been dispatched Mishran to assist in the search and rescue efforts. Finally the government has set up a trust fund of US$200 billion for the families of those lost and for those hurt by the unfortunate event.

The King of the Five Civilized Nations is expected to plan a visit to Mishran to formally apologize and to help ease the somewhat strained relationship between the two nations."

*Some many years later* (kinda like a flashforward)

Three old men sit playing chess, sipping hot coffee, joking harmlessly with one another. A small horde of bodyguards attemps futily to hide or remain un-intrucive.

One man, the former prime minister of Mishran thinks back fondly on the cooperation between the 5CN and his own people, how they took the ashes of the Corrigan Fall and made a great friendship. He remembers how Mishran and the 5CN worked together to pass bills in the UN improving Humanitarian Conditions all over the planet, helping to feed those who were hungry, clothe those without etc. He remembers fighting side by side with 5CN forces in a great war. He remembers Mishran rising like a pheonix out of the ashes of Corrigan, primarily due to the help of the 5CN and Thunderstraat. Those delegates were there too, the three men had done a lot together in thier lives, and the world was a better place for all of thier cooperation. He smiled at a beautiful sun-set, and turned to his friend from the 5CN, "Well, Don, looks like you've got a Check-Mate on me again!" (Thunder) "Perhaps he's cheating? heheh" (5cn) "oh, I'm cheating? What do you call "The horse can fly!"? Eh?" (all) HAHA!

They laughed into the night telling stories and enjoying the time.

Thanks everyone who participated! I think this story has resolved itself, and thats exactly what i wanted, a short, enjoyable NON WAR based incident. 5CN, very nicely done in particular taking the initiative and making yourself part of the story, i like that kind of interaction. Thunder, I thank you again for jumping in and playing the part of the doctor. Again, thank you every one!
