Terrorists Take Nuke (finished)

Lord Edward

Reporter: At 17:39 EST today the radical terrorist group known as "Freedom Faction" took control of a nuclear missile silo just south of Fort Green. We hear that they demand of human test subjects in a secret government biological test. Sources repor..."

"Damn!" shouted Dominar Edward at his advisor.
"How can we possibly handle this? They will probably kill a whole bunch of people over some government program!"
"Sir, our main problem is that this program isn't supposed to exist," the minister of defense was rather anxious now, "If we publicly announce that we have been doing biological tests on humans, think of how the entire Dominion would react."
"Thats all very well and good, but they do have a nuke up there. Wait... can't we disable it?"
"No, this particular silo was built independant of all other systems. When the evacuation test was underway, the group rushed and locked themselves in."
"Can't we just use special-ops and take them out?"
"In a bunker? Not likely. They are heavily armed."
"So, what are my options?"

Dominar Edward is currently doing everything it his power to control and solve this problem. We do not respond kindly to terrorist threats.

We have taken a serious interest in this matter and we will have to tread very carefully in this situation. Are there any cities or towns near the silo evacuating?

OOC: this is origanal

IC: the milltary adivsers at CorpSAc would off a simple idea, we use our Bio Agent R.E.D 6 to infect the silo in the air ducts (dont worry about a global eperdmic the agent dies after a day with out a protin it has in the lab) this will kill all the "Freedom Faction" cell that is in that silo. quick simple and Vary cheap. only say 1.5 million USD, thats for the use of of the R.E.D 6 and the lose of it in our stock piles.

the plan will be simple.
CorpSac force make a pretend attack then withdrow but a small group goes to the Air surpply and drops in Mr vilie. if they fire te nuke then we will gladly send in fighter to try and blow it up.

Consul Supreme Kell grimaced as the news broadcast ended; as the interrupted sports program resumed, the wall of monitors shut off, and the lights overhead flickered on.

"Opinions?"

"Our first step should be contacting Lord Edward, to seek confirmation of the report. We'll need to find out what their planned course of action is."

The Consul Supreme nodded and turned to his Foreign Relations Minister. "Get on it.

"What military options do we have? What success would a bombing by our Tu-160's have?"

"Hard to tell beforehand," the gruff military adviser said. "It may be able to incapacitate the terrorists or prevent them from launching it. Or, it may simply provoke them into taking immediate action."
Lord Edward
12-11-2003, 03:52
OOC: forgot to mention that

IC: Yes, the geography is: there is a river flowing from east to west in the north, just south of that is the silo, which is outside of a city (Fort Green) which is west of the silo. It is suspected that the terrorist group would launch the missile at either the nearby city of the capital. In the event of the city, we couldn't do anything. The capital would take long enough for our missile defense systems to work.

-Responding to later posts-
The air supply system is self contained, they seem to have detailed knowledge of the installation. These terrorists know too much really. The idea of a completely self-sufficient nuke silo sounded great a few years ago.

A light curse is heard upon hearing that the city is in danger.

We will continue to monitor events, and will decide what to do.

--News Broadcast--
"Further developments in the capturing of a nuclear missile by a terrorist group. Following the governments statement that they do not respond to threats, a message was sent out from inside the compound:
'Unless the deplorable and inhuman acts are stopped, and the people are freed, we will use this weapon against the very government that built it.'
No response to this statement yet but analists predict that the effective range of this missile is inter-continental-- meaning any target could possibly be attacked. And now for the weather, hows the weekend going to be John?"

OOC: the plot thickens

 An even sharper curse is heard (s***! the other was Damn!) when the President (me) recieved word that the missile is an ICBM.

We don't even have any ABM or SDI protection! Note to self: Time to put that issue on the next budget debate, if we survive.

President Robert Davis watched the new report with great interest. He tried to think and come up with a way to help out Lord Edward. Suddenly the answer dawned on him.

"Ambrose? Do we have bunker busters?"
Davis' Defense Secretary, Ambrose Lee, responded, "Yes, we do. Are you suggesting..."
"Why the hell not? If we can pierce through that concrete, that should be more than enough to do the job."
"Shall we telegram Lord Edward and offer our services?"
"Yes, do that Lee. I want our A-10 squadron on a stand-by alert. Order them to prepare the bunker busters."
"Yes, Mr. President."
"Hold on, on what is our current threat level?"
"Currently the military is on Defcon Bravo."
(OOC: The threat level status goes from Defcon Alpha (lowest) to Delta (highest.))
"Order the military to go to Defcon Charlie. God knows where they may or may not be aiming that damn thing."
"Yes, Mr. President."
"Thank you, Mr. Secretary."

I hope I'm making the right choice here...., Davis thought to himself as he looked out the window of the Executive Mansion.

Have you considered a special Ops. or sniper team? Perhaps if someone were able to infiltrate the silo, they could be disposed of.

Alternately, are there any exterior kill-switches, or fail-safes for the system? Gaeltach maintains well trained soldiers, and two squadrons of Special Force operatives. If there is anyway we can aid, please do not hesitate to ask.

my idea simple use bunker busters and blow up the missile tubes after that they got empty thrats unless the blow up any missiles in the Silo...mmmm....CorpSac is sending in a Counter Terrorest (15 well trained men and women) unit tho most are being used due to terrorest in our lands to.
Lord Edward
12-11-2003, 04:32
Doesn't look like a special ops team could get through 10 feet of concrete, but only one missile can be fired. What would the option of bunker busters look like?

By the way... I have an AMS system that could reacte if the missile actually got up in space, then it would be taken out. I am worried about the near-by (sorta) town.
Gaeltach
12-11-2003, 04:34
Bunker busters would have limited effect, unless the silo doors were open. It's a long shot, but if you could provoke them into firing, the doors must be open to finish the launch sequence...then the bunker busters could be dropped. Timing is critical, however.
Lord Edward
12-11-2003, 04:36
bump--- somebody got bunker buster bombs ready? I never actually bought any because I rarely use airforce....
Please tell me what planes, how many, and from where so I don't accidentally shoot them down.

Another message from the terrorists:
"Whats 35,000 + 1? Its what will happen in half an hour."
Gaeltach
12-11-2003, 04:37
I have a few...but my soldiers could not be there in half an hour. Perhaps someone closer could assist, unless you can stall them.
Lord Edward
12-11-2003, 04:38
Yes I understand. However, I do have the blueprints. I need someone's birds in the air ready to fire, I have my guys working on logistics of how to contain the nuke exploding underground. When everything is set, I'll call them and say we arn't going to meet the demands and we call their bluff.

Would it be possible to use conventional bombs if bunker busters cannot be there in time?
Lord Edward
12-11-2003, 04:42
Anyone have bombs ready that can be here about now? Otherwise I have to inform my few squadrons to take off now. 23:05
Gaeltach
12-11-2003, 04:43
I suppose it could work, as long as they are powerful enough. Perhaps JDAMs? Because of distance, I simply could not have people there in the time currently allotted.

Lord Edward
12-11-2003, 04:55

12-11-2003, 04:57
er..bunker busters are designed to blow up Missile silos doors and underground bunkers, how cos they dig into the suface then go BANG and if the bombs hit the nuke then u might lose the town cos well we all know how power full a nuke is even if it is under ground, so u dont want to hit it as the doors opening, blowing away the doors gives u a window of about waht 15 mins to get the terrorist and stop the nuke btw.

anyway my team is in stand by they will go in down the Silo hole when it goes

The door of the missile silo slowly began to lurch open.

"We're ready for launch sir."
"Begin countdown."
"Launching in 1 minute."
"Wait, what's that sou..."

**BOOOOOOOOOOOM!**

The terrorists never knew what him. The bunker busters easily penetrated the concrete outside of the bunker. Both the missile and the command center were destroyed.

The flight of A-10's roared over the countryside. "Successful sortie", the flight commander reported. "Returning to CSR airspace."
Lord Edward

Amazing last second work! Ground crews moving in to contain any hazardous waste. Special forces being deployed also to check for survivors. Thanks for the help, I really gotta buy some planes. Last thing, initial reports from satellite intel suggest entire underground installation wiped out. As I said, good job and I am confirming it now.

President Davis had been litsening to the radio conversation of the A-10 group. When the words, "Successful sortie!" came over the radio, he collapsed into a couch in relief.

"We did it, sir. Just in time too." stated Secretary Lee.
"And thank God, oh thank God.", Davis got control of himself. "Be sure to quarintine the pilots and make sure they didn't get any radiatian from the blast. Sterilize the planes as well, we are taking no chances."
"We were already planning that, sir."
"Also, be sure to advise Lord Edward to qurantine and carefully control that site, we have no idea how much radiation got out from the nuke."
"Yes, Mr. President."

Lee left the room. Davis slumped back on his couch, and mouthed "Thank God." one more time.

They A-10 Warthogs buzzed over the airfield, to the cheers of the ground personnel, many of whom were waving Confederate Flags of different sizes. The A-10's then came in and landed one by one. They were directed to taxi to a secluded hangar on the airfield, but the pilots were able to taxi past the crowd at a distance. All signaled a thumbs up or a V for Victory with one of their hands as they passed, to the thunderous roar of the crowd.

Davis watched it all unfold on the the TV. "It's a shame we have to seclude them after such a great event."
"We have to do what's necessary.", his National Security Advisor Mark Jackson responded.
"Speaking of that, we need to make sure nothing of a similar sort happens to us."
"As you know," Secretary Lee responded, "We do not have any nuclear capabilities at this time. So we don't have to worry."
"Don't have to worry? What if another terrorist group takes over another bunker, and they decide to avenge their comrades by launching the big one at US? What are we going to shoot it down with, arrows?"

Jackson and Lee were instantly muted at Davis' sudden change in mood. They couldn't deny that he was right. They didn't even have a space program, much less a missile defense system, unless you counted the patriot missiles, which were fine for taking out SCUDS, but they weren't going to accomplish much against ICBMs.

"We'll look into it, sir.", Lee finally responded.
"Good." Davis said.
Lee and Jackson got up to leave the room.
"Oh, Lee?"
"Yes, Mr. President?"
"Promote all those pilots by one rank, and get some Medals of Honor ready for them."
"Yes, sir."

Davis looked out through the window again. "Thank God, I made the right decision after all...
