Now that Xanter has the plans for Hiroshima grade nuclear weapons (Bought from Dontgonethere), and is heavily mining uranium and metal, we believe we may have what it takes to produce a very small nuke.

Hmm... yet another nation with nuclear weapons... is there anything we can do (money, technology, alliance, etc.) that would act as an incentive not to make the nuke?

It is in the opinion of The Dominion of Talkos that a much wiser course than the development of nuclear arms would be to pursue a course of diplomacy, especially for a nation in its early days such as yours. We believe that strong friends and allies hold much more significance than nuclear arms, especially given the extreme proliferation of such arms, and that if a nation such as yours uses them then they will be subjected to international sanctions and lose much respect from the world community. We believe that if a nation like yours wishes for protection, then they only need to ask such from a larger nation, not spend money on producing outdated nuclear weapons.

we of the remmonlands do not care much for the development of nuclear weapons, they irradiate the target area, are expensive to research and build and are often shot down by nations with any substantial technologic level

instead we are currently developing AICBM lasers with the purpose of shooting down those same ICBM's before they can become a risk

we do have nuclear power and use it a lot because of the power requirements of lasers but are in the process of replacing conventional nuclear power with fusion nuclear power and potentially the development of long range thermonuclear weapons for self defense (ie, detonate near a group of missiles coming towards us to take those missiles down and retaliatory strikes)

we larger nations get together and dictate that should your nation be attacked, rather than you having a nuke as deturent, you have a collective of very large, very angry nations ready to pound your agressors into poweder.

The Dominion of Talkos applauds the responsible and wise decision of Xanter. And would be glad to have further relations with such a receptive nation, perhaps even open up some tariff free trade if they so like...

The Republic of Ozymandias IV also applauds the decision of Xanter to halt development of its nuclear program.

This is a most promising development in the nonproliferation of WMDs.

As a nuclear-free power, we hope to see other small nations follow our example in rejecting WMDs as a military option.

Is it me or almost every nation here will get nuclear weapons eventually. Anyways,good for you nation to have nukes but we will consider you a major threat if you use it as part of you plan to attack our nation or my allies in MasterDebater region.

True to our word, we will offer a full defensive alliance to your people. This alliance will be activated once any nations infringes upon the soverignty of Talkos, and after your bringing this to our attention of course.

OOC: Think about it...Would it really be a good idea to leave weapons like that with someone like Castro? Yeah, they might have had similar motives, but unless Soviets were stationed there as well to control and defend the missiles, it could have been a disaster for more than just the US.

OOC: But then again you must realize, Castro didnt have missiles that could reach all that far, so any other power within the world with Intercontinental range could easily wipe cuba off the face of the planet. There would have been a considerable amount of deterrent against castro, he would be FORCED to think twice before launching one of those things at anyone, even the US. If i were him, i sure as hell wouldnt, unless i was threatened.

And, after long reconsideration, we feel it was wrong to start producing nuclear weapons. They are big and ugly and leave a big crater and lotsa radiation. We will try more conservative things, like EMP's and Nuetron bombs (j/k :wink: )
