OOC: I take great offense to this idiocy.

IC: If we weren't such a peaceful nation, you would be whiped out of the face of the earth... I hope that one day you can commit some action against Esamopia so that we would have all the pretext we'd need to end your regime.

OOC: Furthermore, the Baath Party was never socialist... in fact its leader in Iraq was so incompetent that he could not be running any sort of economy, socialist or otherwise.

The Baath ("Renaissance") were indeed nationalist socialists - or national socialists, if you want the Hitler tie-in.

Seems to go way back to the 30s, when the Arabs were colonized by the two big European liberal democratic states (France and Great Britain), and given that neither the USSR nor the USA was of any consequence at the time, and that the ITalians were killing Arabs by the thousands in Libya, that kinda only left nazi Germany as the big idol.

Of course, this was way before the death camps and the extermination of the jews.

In fact, Saddams uncle, the man who raised him after his father died and his step-father kicked him out, lost his plushy job in the Iraqi army when the Iraqis tried to kick out the Brits and get in the Germans and Italians during WWII.

The attempt didnt work out.

Still, that is probably where Saddam picked up a good deal of the nationalist, socialist leaning he had.

That said, the Kingdom of Darksphere would gladly join you and the other Baath states, were it not because we are already organized in the Axis of Evil. Which we dutifully expect to dominate in due time :D

Can we please keep this clean? This is a family war/terrorism/n00b/trade forum.

It wouls be best if people could keep their Bushinistic, Nationalistic, cummunist and Capitalist views in the open discussion forum. And when you hopefully restart this thread there, be sure to include the following:

For myself, I'm sick of this holy post 9:11 crusade against "evil". You want evil, look at home before you stick your nose out the door

We like to call it Iraq instead of Saddaam, however I made the name Saddam for two reasons

1) He may have been a little evil, and money hungry but deep inside him he cared and thats why he is an amazing person

2) Iraq was taken(lol)

Pond looked out from his post in the Baghdad Hilton. His hands sweated around the laser "paintbrush". He aimed it at the dome of the Presidential Palace, and got a conformation.
"This is Paintbrush to Eagle. We have the palace in the scope and ready." he spoke into the satelite telephone.
"We copy, Paintbrush. Keep the target green." responded the pilot of the A-4 Intruder "Blackjack-7". The laser dot appeared on the targeting scope, he selected it, and dropped the bomb.
Pond saw the dome of the palace errupt in flames, and saw that his job was done. Then he heard the sirens. Pond knew that the logical thing to do for a foreginer would be to go to their embassy. So he packed his bags, and went to the Embassy. The guard checked his papers, and took him to the ACI liason's office. The officer took him up to the roof to a waiting helicopter. It flew to the Barvaria-Studenland embassy in neighboring Jerusalem. From there, he boarded an El-Al flight back to Studenberg.

Yet George W. Bush has more than questionable ties to allowing Sept 11th to happen killing 3,000 Americans. This isn't a war about good vs evil and it is stupid to think it is. Saddam and Bush are both controlling their citizens freedoms... your freedoms. Read the Patriot Act, it is disgusting! Better yet, read the reports of women now being dubbed the Sept 11th Moms whose husbands all died on that day. Saddam is (hopefully was) one of the worst dictators in modern history. The fact that anyone starts a nation modelled after him or pre-war Iraq is sickening to the extreme.

When Saddam Hussein heard the news he pounded his fists onto the desk.
"What in Gods name is this?" Hussein stood up and walked to his map of Baghdad. "Oh its a beautiful city Colonel... And to think that it was once the capital of the Islamic empire" With this Hussein ran to his desk and opened his drawer. He revealed a pistol to his colonel who by this time was scared to the bone. "Colonel... one of our citizens would not want to commit such a crime... We will need to look on foreign soil. We need to find out who did this and WHY" In the mean time however we will need to put it on hold while we clear up this mess. We cannot let such a thing happen again!" And with this Hussein fired three shots into the glass, which was conveniently bullet proof. Hussein pressed one of his speedial buttons on his phone. "Najif? Yeah, we are going to need to repair the window again..."

Just because many people here are against Bush or the United States does not mean that they should hold Saddam Hussein's Iraq in high regard. Regardless of the actions of the US, Saddam was a great threat to the world, which is now a better place because he is no longer in power. Whether that is justification for war by the US is an entirely different issue, but I am troubled to hear so much misguided (or ignorant) sentiment by many.
