Barbarosea is planning on comming out with a new naval ship, really a runway. It would be just a huge runway with no defense/storage space, it wouldn't cost very much, but it really can't do much. It is being designed so we can send out, lets say B-2's, they can do there mission, then land and get refuled, then go out again. This ship will have a 4575 ft. runway, with 2 refuling stations and hull area for it's engines. It will (hopefully) cost less then a Billion dollars, and will have a max. speed of 17.6 knots. This project will accecpt one parnter that is willing to donate (atleast) 500 enegineers and 1.6 Billion silver (1 silver=2.39 USD)

OOC: Maybe he is talking about some form of a Mobile Offshore Base concept, where there's a huge deck with a lot of airplanes and such.

Just the runway part, but yes.
It has no defense or storage space. It sounds like a feasible idea, but would be an easy target unless protected by surrounding ships.

yeah, i doubt it would be less than a billion however, I am willing to contribute to this project. The 500 scientists are en route and, so is your cash. Enjoy.

Excellent.One thing that bothers me about this project is the projected length...it would need to be able to flex or large waves would snap it.Or how about something new and interesting....a modular shop!
An excellent idea. Our scientists and cash are now 2 days away (NS time) and would be more than happy to work to come up with modular designs also, i am also rewiring more cash since, this now seems a very feasible project. Expect 1 billion more US dollars within the hour.

Explain...
Explain...The modular design?Its like this.Instead of one giant target, the mile long ship we build several smaller ships of about 750 feet.The ends open up at the top and are able to connect themselves to each other increasing their runway size.Also incase of a fatal hit the ships can break off and prevent themselves from sinking with the rest of the modules.

ah yes, 3 large sections sounds about right, each only a few times bigger than a nimitz. It'll still end up costing more than a billion though however, we would definately be interested in purchasing such a ship once produced and to such an extent are sending some more of our scientists via super sonic jets, eta, 3 hours

Variations of this idea might also go down extremly well like an army launch base for chinooks, appaches and the likes. Maybe even some support aircraft as well so the planes can stay up even longer. This is one hell of an idea. All scientists have arrived and await your staff to direct them to where they should be. Please find 3.9 billion USD wired into your account.
