Royal Forces, loyal to Sultan Khalib Al-Mozad, have retaken several oil fields in the upper Marsi Desert today. The Fields were under the control of the Fundamentalist Ayatollah Khadalif. Khadalif recently snuck back into the country from Persiastan, where he was in exhile. He now has a huge backing, mostly foreign radicals, who believe that Aghrabel's sale of Oil to western countries is a mass defilement of the Holy Koran.
While Aghrabel has a very expensive and well equipped military it's command structure has been greatly weakened by defections and blood fueds. Currently only 3 divisions are at full strength, 2 of which are guarding the capital. The rest of the vast army is composed mostly of re-inforced Regiments and Battalions who are desperately trying to rejoin the chain of command.
The Ayatollah's control of the valueable oil fields have ended, however he still has a tremendous power base in major cities and rural villages alike.
