First free elections in FPC... ever!
[no declarations of war, no invasions and no attacks on FPC unless authorised by me]
Today saw the first democratic elections of the new governement of FPC. Citizens went to polls to elect candidates who would form the members of the Senate, the General assembly and who would become Prime Minister.
For the Senate, each county had to elect one candidate who would represent is county for municipal affairs. There is a total of 35 senators to be elected.
For the General assembly, each county elect one candidate to be governor of it's county and this governor will represent it's county in the General assembly where he will be able to debate for the comon good of his county and the whole of FPC. Now, the party that wins the most seats in the General assembly will see it's leader become the Prime Minister of FPC for five years. He will basically represent the people's republic of FPC internationaly.
Here is a list of all parties involved :
Reformists - leader = Yuri Gagarini
Neo-Socialists - leader = Kombayn Jahn
Capitalist alliance - leader = Alexei Leonov
After a whole day of voting, the results were tallied.
For the Senate - in all, 35 seats to be won
Reformists ~ 29 seats won
Neo-Socialists ~ 4 seats
Capitalist alliance ~ 2 seats
For the General assembly - in all, 35 seats to be won
Reformists ~ 30 seats won
Neo-Socialists ~ 4 seats won
Capitalist alliance ~ 1 seat won
So, the Prime minister of the People's republic of FPC will be Yuri Gagarini, leader of the Reformist political party!

Election held at FPC.
FPC had it's first free elections since it's independence gained almost 100 years ago. Our president Mr. Ville Sade had this to say :
I'm very pleased to see that democracy is spreading though out the world. I would like offer to newly elected prime minister of FPC a "golden tiger" medal our nations highest award possible to a outsider.

The Federation applauds the people of FPC for holding free and fair elections. Privately, however, the Secretary-General endorses the capitalist alliance.

Several of the Tory Party leaders, shocked by the utter disbandment of the old Despotism, are plotting to trick the Reichstag into a war, and, failing that, use other means.
OOC: attica, your torys could perhaps try to fund the Capitalists. They are very popular in the former Imperial countys. They want the old Imperial glory to be reinstated but with a change of economy.

Over 385 million FPCians went to the voting polls. The citizens of the former Imperial countys did not go to the voting polls as much as the rest of the country. Their is still some hatred between the two parts of the country.
In other news, our Prime minister, Yuri Gagarini, as announced that he will begin peace and diplomatic negotiations between the country of Listovia. He hopes that eventually, Listovia will rejoin it's former union.

Come on Patrov, don't make it harder than it is, join the newly formed people's republic of FPC. It is better than the old Imperial governement.

Yuri - Great! Can't wait to hear it! And you're right, FPC was the greatest. It's a shame he is not alive.
The Nation of Deutscher Reich, finally over with it's revolution, has set up a temporary government, in order to administrate affairs. Several warlords have set up in the northern part of the nation, with their eyes fixated on Listovia. Having assurances from Tory Party members in Attica that Attica will not intervene, the warlords are not worried.
Working with the northern Deutscherian Warlords, a small band of soldiers, dressed completely in FPCian equipment, and with FPC accents and near-perfect understanding of the language, are sent to create an 'incident' on the Listovia-FPC border.
OOC: Deutscher Reich, are you Attica who as created a new nation or simply an independant player?... just wondering.

After talking with the prime minister of FPC, Patrov took a walk through the streets of his capital, Listov. There, he saw the biggest poverty he had seen in decades. Even in the time of the Empire, poverty was nothing compared to what he was seeing. Tears came to his eyes so much he was angry with what his predecessor had done. He wished for not to continue this ordeal....

Patrov - hmmm, I went for a walk and you were right, Listovia is really appovrished but, the kind attican Kaiser made a generous donation wich will help Listovia to get back on it's feet.
Yuri - As a word of advice, be wary of the Atticans, they have never done anything good for FPC and you know it. You were there when they tried to invade us, twice!

Here is what I thought: could Listovia join FPC as a colony or be part of a commonwealth were Listovia would still have independance to do things like Listovians like in their every day lives but the external, world politics would be controlled by your general assembly?
Yuri - Excellent idea! Of course, you could even have a minister in the General assembly! This my friend, is a step to put our differences in the past!

OOC: He wasn't the one that stopped the donation, it was the Reichstag. And, of course, insulting him -might- make him want to work with the Tories.
IC: On the FPC/Listovia border, near Deutsches Reich, a group of soldiers almost indiscernably masked as FPC soldiers, went thru a village, murdering and raping men and women.
OOC: "raping men and women..." geezh... I know they can be desperate but raping men? :? Gosh :shock:

This incident comes as a shock and prime minister Gagarini sends his condolences to the families of the victims. Military authorities show proof that no orders or soldiers were ever sent in Listovia. (OOC: there are currently no FPCian soldiers in FPC)
With this incident, prime minister Gagarini has sent 50,000 soldiers to pacify the newly joined region and has set up barricades along the Listovian-Attican border. Now, Attica and FPC are completly cut off by barricades, walls, wires and bunker lines.

The Northern Warlords of Deutscher Reich have begun their move. Rebel Armies amassed of around 100,000 men (civil war is -still- occuring, but on a smaller scale by far.), equipped with semi-modern Attican Arms and Material (instead of G36 rifles they are using AK-74s, and instead of King Leopards they have Leopard 2s and 1s.), cross the border into Listovia.

OOC: And what percentage of your population is under 18? I would like to point out that according to the 2001 US census (the most recent i could find), 29.3% of Americans are 19 and under. So unless you allow everyone with a valid heartbeat vote, i'm thinking your stats are off.
OOC: Besides the fact that he might not have his limit at 18, and the fact that his population demographics might not be the same as the USA...
OOC: Even still, the fact that that age group has to qualify for AT LEAST 15% of his population. Plus the fact that according to that same census, 7.2% of the US population is under 5 years old. He had a 93.4% voter turnout, according to my calculator. You do the math.
