Clouds on the Horizon (The Opening of the Wars of Expansion)

08-11-2003, 02:13
(OOC: This is a semi-closed RP. In other words, you cannot jump in militarily, nor can you attempt to give information to either party. However, allowances will be made for public opinion be given. Omz222, I took the liberty of deciding that Galahad would be East of your nation, for reasons you will see below)

In a recently released statement, the Kaiser of Tremalkier reiterated a point that has recently become the focus of Tremalkier Foreign Policy. Within the nearly 25 page statement the Kaiser assured his people that all efforts would be made to keep Omz222 to a pledge of neutrality in any ensuing war, and that as yet no plans had been made for any kind of hostile action against that nation.

At the same time however , it is common knowledge that almost 2 weeks ago fifteen full divisions of the Naval Guard were seen loading into transport ships, after which they proceeded to seemingly disappear. Where the divisions have gone has not been released by the Tremalkien Government, but the recent amalgamation of Tremalkien Naval Units in the waters towards the East of the Omzian mainland has left little doubt in the minds of many.

From: Tremalkien High Command
To: D Fleet

Continue to patrol waters east of Omzian mainland. Transports will be arriving in 3 days. Do not proceed into Omzian waters under any circumstances.

From: Tremalkien High Command
To: Devastator Group

Finish loading men and supplies and rendevous at Point G by 1600 in three days. Preparations for landing must be ready by then, and interceptor units must be on the lookout for the primary wave.

From: Tremalkien High Command
To: Primary Invasion Force

Rendezvous with Devastator Group at point G by 2300 in three days. Proceed to unload regardless of penetration by Pre-Emptive forces.

From: Tremalkien Foreign Office
To: Hitler III

Amass your forces at the planned points. Invasion to begin 1600 in three days.

OOC: Guess you didn't look at the origional thread.

Very sorry, but another war is happening:

OOC: Sorry to break this, but I may as well have to quit the RP: Sniper Country-Omz222 Crisis (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=90203)

However, I will be back later, for now, just have the target on APTO, like the previous plan.

Very sorry again.

EDIT: True, I have to quit for now. War is imminent.

If you sitll want me to be in, then I'll try my best to keep this up. If not, then I'm very sorry. I know you made a lot of preparations.. but I can only join later.

EDIT: Above war put into consideration. Decision to invade me by SC is not final. In other words, I will decide.

Tremalkien Newcast

"The escalating rumours surrounding the Tremalkien Naval Units near Omz222 has led the Kaiser to release a second statement as to their intentions. It should begin any time...oh wait, going live to the Kaiser's public statements in regards to the Omz affair"

*The Kaiser appears at a podium on the screen*

"Fellow countrymen, and those abroad. Tremalkier has always been known for its less than subtle abilities in Foreign Affairs. It is due to that reputation that I have ordered the 11th Fleet to be organized. With negotiations still under way with Omz222, we believe that this show of force will be crucial in keeping the peace. Any attempt by a hostile nation to force Omzian retaliation, or intervention in this war, cannot be allowed. Thereby, the 11th Fleet will maintain its position nearby, and strike any and all ships that approach the Mainland. Let it be known that we will take no prisoners."

*The screen goes blank*

The Kaiser stepped away from the podium, doing his best to keep his composure. However once he had stepped past the curtains, rage quickly filled his face.

"We have organized this fleet...to stop intervention? Who the hell comes up with this shit?! Jesus, can you make this sound even slightly more like complete bullshit?"

A sly grin suddenly overcame the Kaiser, and as his rant subsided, an aide slowly gave him a manila envelope. After a quick glance the Kaiser rattled off a final pair of orders before leaving.

"Nice work, but next time it must be even more obvious we are going after their mainland, the true objective cannot be revealed. Secondly, call the "terrorists" I want our "patrol" to go up in flames at exactly the right time!"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Meanwhile beneath the rolling waters of Galahad a fleet such a few others ever created built up. T-Wolves by the Squadron slowly glided together, dwarfed by the massive Devastator. Towed in the wake of 3 to 4 of the subs, towed by a set of cables, a large boxish looking device followed, from which emenated the sounds of man.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Nearly 100 miles away, an even larger group was emerging. Naval ships of all types, Battleships, Cruisers, Destroyers, Interceptors, and of course, hundreds of Zodiacs, converged around a more uniform group, enough transports for nearly 12 divisions of Marines, and equipment.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In a small patch of Pelagia (the ocean) a 3 small motorboats reved up, and began moving towards an unknown target. Packing each boat was nearly a ton of C4 high explosives.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(OOC: For those nations involved, I'll be explaining the logistics for my fleets once the war itself gets underway [I'll need a map]. We'll really get into those once the war starts. Also, you don't need to worry about the terrorist thing, its just my decision on how to get the war started, Omzian terrorist attack on a "patrol" of mine[easy enough to fake].)

(Secondary Note: A "Division" in Tremalkier is quite different than in other nations, its only around 5,000 men. The classic 40,000 man group is called a Battle Force in Tremalkier FYI.)

We have recently received intelligence infomation that is reliable enough to let us believe that the nation of Tremalkier is sending their 11th Naval Fleet to Omzian lands, particularly the mainland, or Galahad. While the Kasier has explained, we see this action as highly suspecious.

Although we will not raise our alert leve, we will continue to monitor this situation.

(OOC: SC is allied to me in this conflict, he was in fact going to fight on my side in it. It can be easily reworked though, if your willing to do so, I could have my invasion of Galahad come after SC declares war and your war begins, and thereby I'd be coming in as both SC's ally, and opening another front. TDP could fight on your behalf in Galahad, with Hitler III on my side. I'm sure another nation could be found to fight on TDP's side if you didn't want to.)

(OOC2: If you think about it, it makes more sense for me to invade you when your occupied with SC, this would change plans, but I think it can be worked around)

However, there will be another alliance (whole) invading me in the SC front, so I will consider, as said. Hmm...

(OOC: Doesn't affect your colony really. I invade it, TDP+somebody come in to help you regain it while your are incapable of doing so yourself. Sort of a separate war, but from an Expansionist point of view, it would be a prime opportunity. Plus, FYI, my 11th fleet is a decoy, so its not really worth a damn if your worried about that. Its just so that I can have a reason to go to war.)

Nik stepped up to the podium, straightening his tie. "We're up in five, four, three..." said the cameraman. Nik turned to the camera just as the lights lit up, smiling into it.

"My fellow Damnians," he began, "Today, it was brought to my attention that the Tremalkien government was in fact the one responsible for the Alokinian military base terrorist attacks on September 12th, killing hundreds and leaving more wounded, devastating an entire base.

Furthermore, it has been learned that Tremalkier has engaged in hostilities with our ally Omz222. They have in fact used terrorists to detonate two dirty bombs in major cities of Galahad, an Omzian colony. Furthermore, they have declared a formal invasion of 30,000 marine forces against the nation of Omz.

As Omz and the Allied Powers are allies of ours, we are obligated to defend them from this expansionist terrorism of Tremalkier. The information was all supplied to me by Information Minister Jonathan Weinstein.

And, finally, it is my sad duty to report that, as a response to these acts of terror, we have shut down the borders to all Tremalkiens, in case of spies, and to all those with suspicious passports. Borders are on high alert. Travel to Tremalkier is also banned. Furthermore, we will be sending an infantry unit of 15,000 men, by way of air and sea, to defend the colony of Galahad from imperialism.

We hope the people will support us in this time of tragedy. This is Nik, signing off."

Nik turned to Weinstein, nodding to him. "Thank you for the intelligence report. It's shocking that Tremalkier would do this. However, the wheels are turning, we must not waste time. Alert General Collins to send out the telegrams."

OOC: If you mean that Ireland is Galahad too, then yes. Since no one is claiming it (UK/Ireland) as an RL nation, the origional nation of Galahad (King Galahad, then deleted for rule violation) is Britain (he told me).

(OOC: Can we assume thereby that the entire place is pretty built up? Rainy as well I would assume? This all matters quite a bit to my war strategy)

The Kaiser quietly read the small report that had arrived from The Damned People. Within it was the transcript of Nik's speech, as startling a piece of propaganda as there had ever been. Yet, none of it had appeared important until the slight detail of mobilization became apparent. With that trigger, the Kaiser knew it was time to set wheels in motion.

"Call the "terrorists", plan is to go down at approximately 2000 tonight. Make sure the invasion fleet is fully prepared for its invasion. I want all of Galahad under our control by the end of the week."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It was a quiet night. Slowly 3 Leland class Destroyers drifted through the night, quietly patrolling the eastern-most waters of Omz222. The tranquilty was suddenly brought crashing down, as through the waves came a trio of motorboats, bearing down on the patrol at an insane 40 knot pace.

With only a moment to decide, one of the Leland's quickly sent out the simplest of Tremalkien signals onto the radio waves.

Seconds later all the night sky bloomed into fiery ruin, as explosions tore the sky asunder.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Admiral Howitz looked down at his watch. As the hands finally aligned at the signal hour...2100...the Admiral quietly ordered the first movements. The T-Wolves were to approach the Western Island of Galahad first, secure it as best as possible.

Meanwhile, the Devastator would land its troops on the SW coast of the main island, to create a forward camp. It would only be a matter of holding on then until the main invasion forces arrived.

It would only be around 3 hours before the first subs neared the shore
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(OOC: I haven't used maps in a while. I just made up one on my landing sites but I've plum forgotten how to upload it onto a reply. Its nothing fancy, just a little tweaking of TDP's map, yet its gonna be kinda necessary don't ya think?)

General Terzik, good to hear from you. You will be allowed full movement in and around the Tremalkien incursions into Galahad. We are expecting you to land on the two most jutting peninsulas west of Glasgow. We will secure the South and the lesser Island. We will progress from there as forward bases are established. Secure supply lines is essential, T-Wolf Squadrons 12 and 13 will be split from the Devastator group to cover your initial movements, after that its your own job. Further plans to be discussed later.

(OOC: Woohoo! War's on! I use http://Strike9.com for images, it's free, so feel free to try it, Tremalk. I suggest we find a blank map of England to make revised maps less hectic, however, like this one: http://www.enchantedlearning.com/europe/britain/outlinemap/map.GIF which I'll be using from now on. Also, we need dates. Let's have this be a summer war, to make conditions less difficult. How about the night Tremalkier attacks will be July 1st, and the morning I land will be July 2nd?)

0230, July 2nd: The Omega Flight Squadron dropped the 2,000 paratroopers in to fields along the pre-determined line that the TDP High Command had chosen. Shortly afterward, the Alpha, Kappa, and Pi fleets were to land at another location that would seal off an inland line to prevent Tremalkien forces from taking the northern side of the island by land. The forces were prepared, and small encampments were set up. When the Epsilon Iota Batallion arrived, supplies would be rallied by jeep along the line to set up trenches, mine fields, and barbed wire fences along the line. The line did not intersect any major cities, but only grassy hill-country and a few small villages.

0300, July 2nd: The Alpha, Kappa, and Pi fleets landed at their positions on the island of Galahad. Each fleet sent out smaller dingies carrying men to the shore, where the men were to set up a small inland camp. In total, there were 450 men going in to shore. The other 2,550 stayed out in the 6 carriers and 3 battleships. The Epsilon Iota Batallion was due in 4-6 hours at the same location.

So, Galahd is Ireland, right?

BTW, the Military recently went through a pretty large over, so, the Marine Corp no longer exists. Can I say that all MC personnel on WA turned into Army Rangers and Army Units without people caring too much?

IC:

*Jolidis, Capital of West Alicana*

Greg Spitz was enjoying his new command post. Much better than the Holy Fire. It even had a SmartScreen liked the NSC and DoD bigwigs used to make meetings and briefings easier.

He sighed. Even as he sat in his CP, he realised it was a payoff. The Army Command had transferred 17,000 Rangers and several hundred AFVs and chopppers from him about a week ago. In return, they had convinced the AAC to give him parts to a Pelican, which was being assembled now, some types of AFVs new to the Army, and this new command center.

He slipped out of his thoughts as a his XO came into the room, casually saluted, and handed him a manilla folder.

" Greg, this is a report from SU and the NSC. Several fleets, presumedly foreign, are appearing on Sattelites. There are fleets capable of carrrying 50,000 soldiers here." "Best guess?" "They're sayin' it's probably Tremalkier or some friends of theirs." Spitz rubbed his cheek out of habit and exhaustion. "What makes them think that?"

Tom White, the XO, handed him a large of stack of papers, divided into tabbed sections. Spitz read the title: "Tremalkieran Kaiser's Speech".

He read through all of the pages, looked to the now sitting Tom White, and said, " What do you make of all this?" "Me? I think all that shit Tremalkier's leader was spewing a couple months ago has come to pass."

" I think you're right, Tom. Put all forces under my direct command at Status Yellow, tell those engineers to hurry the hell up on that Pelican, and get the NAC to start flying AWACs over the ocean and WA."

"Yes sir!"

"Ah, shut the hell up, we been friends for years."

Tom smiled and walked out of the room.

IC:

The Omz222-funded and equipped Self-Defense force of Galahad is still unprepared, because they doesn't even know that they will be crushed by the imperalists' forces. Even though they always boast their power among the Galahad people, their near-outdated equipment will doubtfully defeat the enemy forces --- without the Omzians' and TDP's help.

0330 Hours, July 2nd: Lieutenant General Adams watched his men set up camp. He had already pitched his own tent, and the last of the boys were setting up their own. There was a grand total of 500 people in his one encampment, and it was the most northwestern one of them all. He sighed as he looked out the map and plotted out the points they were supposed to protect and the ones they were supposed to take.

He walked outside of his camo tent to see how the progress was going. Privates Jenkins and Yasumi were still setting their tents up, but besides that, the rest had gone to digging the trench around the base. That was good. It was only 3:30 in the morning, yet the men were looking sharp. By 8:00 in the morning, they should be completely packed in. The fences would be up, the trenches dug, the guards on duty, the breakfast cooking... The supplies were to arrive by jeep across the countryside from the Epsilon Iota Batallion by about 12:00. Noon.

They would arrive so late because they were the last encampment away from the batallion's landing point. They were on the very edge, the most prominent and vulnerable to an enemy attack. Adams just hoped that the enemy didn't know this. Damn imperialists...

June 4th, 0900 hours. Within 70 miles of the southern coast of Galahad, the Shadow, Chimera, and Shinra Battle Groups make a sudden halt after picking up increased activity in the waters just north of their position. Identifying it to be the Tremalkien fleets, the three groups split up and proceed with the plan. The plan -- to have one fleet at each point in a triangle position surrounding Galahad -- was to ensure that Tremalkier's landing points on the western island and the forward base could be reinforced, and to have a presence in the south to sweep upward until eventually all of Galahad was under Tremalkien-H3 control. The largest of the groups, the Chimera, would also be the one conducting primary shock-terror bombing from the south and disrupting enemy supply routes.

0810 Hours, July 2nd: The Epsilon Iota Battalion landed on the shores of Galahad, men pouring out from the carrier onto the sandy beach. There was now a grand total of 8,000 men in the main base, at the landing point of the battalion and the three fleets, only 2,000 of which remained on board the ships that had been anchored in offshore and those that had landed on the beach.

The Epsilon Iota Battalion had brought with it supplies, among which were jeeps, AA (Anti Aircraft) equipment, and SRRF (Short Range Radar Facility) units. The jeeps managed to rally the equipment effectively up and down the Primary Line, so that five major camps were set up by 1800 hours. By 2010 hours, trenches had been dug to stretch along the entire Primary Line, and small guard posts had been established between the major bases, as well as in the two small towns of Twinbrook and Agaeis. There were 4,000 men spread out along the four various bases and smaller guard posts on the Primary Line.

Food supplies had come in all the fleets, as well as the battalion, and had been rallied by jeep along the line as well. Aside from the supplies, which were to last each base camp and their effective guard posts for one week, the two small towns provided the soldiers with food. And, if the original supplies ran out and the two towns were not able to produce enough food for the soldiers, the bases each had small livestock pens where they bred pigs, cows and hens that had been donated by the Omzian forces.

1200 Hours, July 2nd: The Epsilon Gamma Battalion, consisting of 2,000 men and 28 M1A1 Abrams Tanks, arrived at the northernmost islands of Galahad, taking position and setting up small camps. As The Damned People was located north of Galahad, those islands would be a vital point to hold as all new fleets and supplies would go through the northern islands.

1400 Hours, July 2nd: Nik sat in his office as General Mitsuko Collins came in with the latest report. "Here it is, sir," said Collins, handing the papers from High Command to Nik. As he was turning to walk out of the room, Nik beckoned him to wait, remaining seated behind his desk. "Collins..." he said, putting down the papers, "All this is military talk. It's about 50% Tremalkien to me. Tell me what it is that's on these sheets."

Collins turned around and crossed his arms behind his back, to begin his dictation, when Nik raised his hand and told Collins to sit down, he was at ease. Collins did so and then proceeded with the report, "The Epsilon Iota Battalion has landed and is rallying supplies up and down the Primary Line that we've established, crossing the southern section of the main island of Galahad. The Alpha, Kappa, and Pi fleets have also already landed earlier, and established a main base on the eastern shore, at the same place the EI Battalion landed. The Omega Flight Squadron dropped parachuters and parachuted supplies down in various points, and four major bases as well as guard posts have been established, and the two towns of Twinbrook and Agaeis along the lines have been secured. So far, there has been no report of Tremalkien attacks on the mainland against Alibakkan, Omzian, or TDP troops, as well as no report of Omzian or Alibakkan troop movements. Finally, the Epsilon Gamma Battalion landed and secured the northern islands for us, and the 1st Special Forces Militia is to be deployed soon.

"Alibakkar's in this with us now? Yet we haven't heard a troop report from them or Omz?" asked Nik. "Yes, sir," said Collins. Nik told Collins to cut that shit out, he was at ease and that 'sir' part was no longer necessary. He then paced across the room to a map of Galahad, where High Command had highlighted the troops' posts and the Primary Line. "I take it Omz needs us, as they are still having difficulties with the Sniper Country affair?" asked Nik, and Collins acknowledged that it was most probable that Omz would not be giving much help due to their war with Sniper Country.

"One more thing: Where is the background info from Weinstein's initial intelligence report on Tremalkien movements?" asked Nik.

"I've got no idea. He might have falsified it, if that's what you're insinuating, but according to most recent sattelite reports from High Command, what he predicted was quite accurate. Everything has been backed up but the initial report that lead us into this war," responded Collins.

"I want you to find the information background that we acted on then," said Nik, "I know it's not your duty, but please see that he prints it out. I want to review it." And with that, he dismissed Collins and turned back to look at the points held on the map.

2200 Hours, July 2nd: The First 'Special Forces' Militia consisting of 1,000 men was deployed on the northern shore of the western main island of Galahad. The forces consisted only of men, with small rations and supplies in their packs, who then set up camp at the deployment area. The boat that had dropped them off had left, and their small base was only temporary for the one night. The tents, as well as their uniforms, were camoflouged. They were each given hefty sums of Omzian money from High Command, and had instructions to break up into smaller groups within the following week, which would infiltrate Omzian towns on the island and set up small clandestine command posts in an attempt to hold the towns from small forces of invading troops. As militia, they were all trained in sniper tactics, and carried high powered rifles with them. They were not meant to stop huge enemy deployments, but were meant to keep an eye on which cities had been taken and try to prevent small groups of enemy soldiers from, well, living. The next day, they were to move out and head towards their designated towns.

**Secured Transmission to GSDF Commander/Leader of Omz222**

We have remained silent here in our state for a few months now, as you must have noticed. Let it be known that we are not hostile to the territory of Galahad or the nation of Omz222. We were sent here originally to defend our country and nothing else. That directive has changed as of July 1, 1900 hours.

The NSC and the DoD have decided, along with the President, that Tremalkien forces will most likely take Galahad without some form of intervention. It has been judged that if Tremalkien forces were to take Galahad, then West Alicana, and later Yolissburg, would be in jeopardy from the continuing storm.

As of July 1, 1900 hours, we have been ordered to defend the island of Galahad, territory of Omz222, for as long as permitted/able/ordered.

Will you allow U.S. Army units onto Omzian soil?

---Secured Transmission to Alibakkar---
From: Galahad Self-Defence Force

We thank you for your suprising proposal to protect Galahad, our nation and the Omz222-influenced territory. But we are also sure that we can defend ourselves from an invasion by Tremalkier, so we will consider your proposal.

However, because the nation of Alibakkar is not even well known in Galahad, we are afraid to decline yoru offer for security reasons --- whether it is an act of kindness, or just a plot of backstabbing us.

We hope you can understand.

**Follow-up Transmission to GSDF Commander**

Understood, but things are not so simple as that. If Galahad falls, I will have failed in my duty.

We are not going to violate your soviergnity, but we are going to still offer you our help. The US Army has a lot of sway in Alibakkar, even over the Air Corp and Navy. What do you need? I can get you anything from M-16s to F-16s. However, do not expect a miracle.

Your survival is my mission. Feel good over that.

0700 Hours, July 3rd: After an uneventful night, Force Commander Adams looked down at his men in the Special Forces Militia. The SFM was the key to commando-style fighting in the TDP military, and they were damn proud of it. Adams' brother was a Lieutenant General in charge of one of the paratrooper squads that had set up a base along the newly established Primary Line.

Adams began to address the men in the SFM, "Ok boys. All of you new kids who wanted to see combat, this is your lucky day," it was an old line in the TDP military, "Let's see our squads move out! Remember, we're undercover here. That means covert, ladies. I want you infiltrating the towns and I want the natives to think you're natives. That's right, kids, we're talking the real deal now. No more than 50 men to any designated town, move out!"

And with that, the entire troop of 1,000 soldiers began moving out, in seperate directions, to towns that they had been assigned to. Adams himself was to go look over a group guarding a rather larger town of 100,000 souls called Cartuche. He hoped to god that they would not have to see action on the dangerous commute over the hills towards Cartuche; it was a 7 mile journey on foot. Most squads would hopefully make it to their towns by 1200 hours, by foot and hitching rides. Hopefully.

0830 Hours, July 3rd: Nik was up early, at his desk. He had fallen asleep there the other night, actually. Where else did he have to go? He was still unmarried... Damn that Collins, with a wife and kids to go home to at night. But it was kind of hard to find a more-than-skin-deep relationship when you were Leader of the nation.

Collins happened to walk in right at that moment, without knocking, as was customary of best friends to Nik. Nik had to change that... it might be a dangerous habit in the future for some. But for now, he sat up and looked at Collins. Before Nik even managed to say something, Collins started.

"Weinstein is under investigation. He has not been able to produce valid photographs to justify our initial force deployment to Galahad. Though, judging by what is happening there now, he acted upon good instinct. As to troop movements, our satellites were in danger of being destroyed by enemy Tremalkien forces, as a few minor ones were, so we had to move them into a different orbit pattern. That means we no longer have a feed of live Tremalkien troop movements, and we're relying on communication from the sites of battle. There have been no reported movements near our forces so far."

Nik sighed and put his head in his hands. "I need some coffee," he said. And then he looked up again at Collins, "And what about word from Omz and Alibakkar?"

"Alibakkar may not be allowed by Omz to fight for them, though I have no plausible idea why. As for Omz troop movements, we are sending out telegrams again at the moment to see what the situation is. I'll report back to you when I have more information," replied Collins.

Nik sighed and stood up, walking over to the Mr. Coffee machine.

0840 Hours, July 3rd: The Special Forces Militia encountered some trouble. Enemies, to be precise. The 1,000 troops hadn't gone far when they were engaged in enemy fire, surrounding them from all sides. They had made the unfortunate mistake of landing right on, or rather next to, a Tremalkien base. It would be hard to hold out, and there was no way to escape the enemy forces flooding the lands. Commander Adams told his men to retreat, yet they stood tall. They knew there would be nowhere to go. And so they charged in, guns blazing, at the enemy base, knowing not what fate awaited them.

0900 Hours, July 3rd: Lieutenant General Adams walked out of his tent. It had been an uneventful night, luckily. There had been no attacks in his base, the most western and thus most vulnerable ones, nor reports of attack anywhere along the Primary Line, fortunately. He wondered how his brother was doing, off in a different kind of section of the military. He knew his brother was in Galahad, but had not been at liberty to reveal the details of his mission. He just hoped that his brother was safe.

0930 Hours: July 3rd: Major Sanders was rudely awoken by one of the men under his command in the small town of Twinbrook. He was shaken out of his bed in the hotel he was staying (great job on accomodations, TDP military), and he looked up at the private who had awaken him. It figures, it was Private Catthunger. The jerk off. "We're off to breakfast, Major. Thought you might want to join us, sir." Sanders mumbled something out of reply and started groggily getting out of bed, putting on his socks. They had better have some fucking decent coffee.

1000 Hours, July 3rd: Lieutenant General Gaston and Lieutenant Admiral Marcos were having a meeting in the central command tent of the main base, the closest base to the eastern coast of Galahad on the Primary line. They were discussing the best plan for holding off enemy Tremalkien forces if they invaded by land. Air support was always available from the northernmost islands and the Epsilon Gamma Battalion, fortunately.

"By land, we're already prepared," said Marcos, "Of course, I am only in charge of preparing for naval attacks and defending on nautical charts, being a lieutenant admiral, but it appears to me that we are safe from ground attack along the line at the moment."

"Aside from a rather general shortage of troops," responded Gaston, "12,000 is nowhere near enough to hold off the kind of forces that I'd expect, lieutenant admiral. However, High Command has not offered to send anymore forces until actual engagement, if we get any, so all we need to concentrate on now is air attack. Technically, they could bomb us anywhere, but only if they got past our SRRFs and AA guns. And then, for air battle, we always have our fighter planes being stored with EG Battalion, as you stated."

"Nautical attacks are unlikely. We only have two bases on the coast, and both very well protected. Though surveillance further along the coast would help," replied Carlos. Gaston nodded in agreement.

[SECRET VIDTRANSMISSION TO TREMALKIEN FOREIGN OFFICE, PRIORITY ENCRYPTION 1]

- It has been brought to my attention that we can spare another battle group to help with the planned invasion. The Ragnarok, consisting of 5 guided-missile frigates, 1 Nimitz class aircraft carrier, and 3 Kidd class destroyers, can be deployed to the region by the end of today. We plan on using them to take control of the center channel in between the west and east islands of Galahad. With this channel in our control we can deny enemy forces resupply routes from island to island.

July 4th, 1270 hours. After a priority encryption 1 vidbroadcast, the vessels of the Ragnarok set course for the southern coast of Galahad on a mission to usurp the Galahadian Channel. 0200 July 2nd: Marshal Valkonski watched in somber silence as the first tents were erected on the Western Island of Galahad. Already seven other such camps had been erected, and it appeared that the Galahadians had been caught napping. Although no word had been issued from the Devastator, that wasn't unexpected. It would less than a day before the majority of the Primary Invasion force arrived, and then...then Tremalkier would assure itself of victory.

2200 July 2nd: It had all looked so good, until Damnian forces arrived. With their arrival, the Primary Invasion forces would have to be rerouted not arriving until nearly 1030 the next day. Due to this delay, it looked like the preliminary bombings would have to be reworked, as Damnian forces unloaded AA machinery. However, it was with little reluctance that the Marshal gave the order to move the T-Wolves into an attack position. An unexpected volley of missiles would awaken the Damnian forces, and hopefully soften them up for the Invasion.

July 3rd 0930: It would only be an hour until the first wave of the Primary Invasion forces arrived. Tremalkien landings along the Western Island had been unopposed, and fully built camps awaited the arrival of fresh troops.

Marshal Valkonski knew in his heart that the plan was working. With a full fifteen divisions of Marines about to be entrenched in Galahad, they could easily match the defenders in number. With a small smile he nodded to his radio operator and his orders were sent out.

From: Valkonski Command
To: Tremalkien HQ

Please dispatch five divisions of Hammers to the gathering point. Along with three Falcons, and a pair of Champion divisions, our forces should be heavy enough to prevail. We are also requesting the 3rd Missile Fleet be gathered to provide bombardment support for their initial landings.

From: Valkonski Command
To: PI Forces

Begin your landings at the pre-constructed bases ASAP. The Western Island must be taken quickly, before resistance solidifies. We can concentrate later on the much larger task of taking the main island. Send preliminary bombers to the set attack areas, on the Western most point of the Damnian Main Line, keep them on their heels.

From: Valkonski Command
To: H3 Forces

Permission granted for landings. Take corner points, and hold on, do not attempt to seize excessive land, we will need to hold what we take. Secondly, no devastating force, remember, I want something good and useful to remain after we have conquered this place.

From: Valkonski Command
To: Devastator Mark II group

Begin approach to Eastern coast. Prepare to bombard with missiles, then drop depth. The Beta and Omega Squadrons to be left behind in grid to attempt to sink hostile shipping. After the strike, spread out, and hit supply ships.

From: Valkonski Command
To: Devastator Landing Base

Fire all ready missiles+artillery at Western Damnian forces. Do not engage until Primary Invasion forces arrive. Secondary Invasion (OOC: The wierd sounding divisions) will be arriving approximately 1700 on the 4th. Until then, hold tight, and prepare to start Operation Cormorant.

This initial landing group, consisting of only LCTs and amphibious APCs, headed right into enemy territory without a trace. Once ashore, the vehicles deployed their cargo: 11,000 Shadow Stalker infantrymen and over 650 Mammoth Panzer tanks. Sensing no enemy forces within the vacinity, the soldiers set up camp and awaited the arrival of the second and third waves. After initial target scans, it was determined that a medium-ranged radar facility lied 17 miles to the north, and in order for H3 military forces to crawl further into enemy territory without detection it would have to be eliminated.

PFC George "Nuke" Hilton sat in the shade, relaxing after he scarfed down some chow. He had to report for some assembly at 1800 hours, but now he had a solid twenty minutes to himself. Or so he thought. His headset crackled as a general comm came through. When a genral comm was heard, it was preceded by beeps, corresponding to whether it was a squad, platoon, or Company level message. 1 beep, then a buzz. Holy shit.

*6 hours ago, Command Squad HQ*

An INT manager walked into the room urgently, not saluting as was customary when Pri1 news came in. Spitz sat up. He had been going over the notes to his speech he was giving at 1800, but he put them aside when the INT guy came. A manilla folder with tabs in sticking out plopped on the desk in front of him. Spitz read it carefully. He got something like this twice a day, but this was Pri1, which generally meant big shit was going on.

*3.5 Hours ago, Status Command staff*

Frank yawned. This meeting was taking forever. He quickly sat up, realizing men would needlessly die if he didn't know the plan down pat. Frank Hartz was the commander of Stinger Battalion, the spearhead for the proposed Operation White Horse. Hartz stifled another yawn and copied down how much AFV support they could get.

*Goliad AFB, West Alicana*

Hartz examined the men before him. 900 Army Rangers. Alibakkar's finest. They were loaded down with Ammo and equipment, but 3 years of intense physical training had made it easy to bear.

Hartz was marveled especially at command. They had rigged together a decent-looking battleplan in about 5 hours. The Rangers had to hold on by themselves for about 8 hours, and then reinforcements would come in. It would take about 15 minutes to load the Pelicans, and then Stinger Battlion would be on its way...

1320 Hours, July 3rd: Collins rushed back into Nik's office. Nik had been sitting at his desk, mulling over strategic points, when Collins ran into his office, frantically. He saluted quickly, and Nik stood up behind the desk, dismissing the salute and ordering Collins to report what had happened.

"We have engaged enemy forces, Sir," said Collins, he continued, "The westernmost base from the Omega Flight Squadron was viciously bombed by enemy missiles. I have given permission to fire back at where we suspect enemy bases to be. We have launched a total of 75 cruise missiles at different areas, making sure to pepper them, from the ships in the Epsilon Iota Battalion. We have also sent a squad of 50 EP-3E spy planes to locate enemy bases."

Nik pondered this for a second, "EP-3E's?", and then, accepting it, said, "Continue..."

"Furthermore, we have detected enemy movement with naval patrols outside of both the western Omega base, and the easternmost base on the main island, the Epsilon Iota base. We have put both bases on high alert and told them to guard exterior waters. They have called for marine and naval backup from Epsilon Gamma. I authorized the Epsilon Delta Battalion to come down on the east to provide a 1,000 troop support with 3 destroyers, as well as another force of equal size going down a channel along the west coast of the main island to provide backup for the Omega base."

Nik, without even thinking it over, saw an updated and highlighted map appear on his desk, sent in new from High Command. He signalled for Collins to continue.

"Finally, we have been getting civilian reports of troops establishing bases on the southern shores of the main island. We are keeping high radar alert in all bases on the Primary Line, and telegramming frantically for allied backup, Sir."

Nik pondered this for a second, and then sat down behind his desk, steepling his fingers and staring into space. He signalled for Collins to sit down in a chair on the opposite side, and Collins did so. Finally, Nik looked up, across the table, and said simply, "Well shit, Collins. This is getting uglier every hour, isn't it? Full retaliation is in order. I want another battalion stationed at the same islands as Epsilon Gamma."

Collins agreed. "I'll ask for the Epsilon Beta Battalion to land 5 destroyers and 2,000 troops there. Is there anything more, Sir? I have to get back to High Command." Nik dismissed the General with a hand movement, and returned to the map. It was astounding. They really needed to contact their allies...

1330 Hours, July 3rd: The missile volley slightly earlier had left the western Omega base in worse shape than it had originally been. Luckily, thanks to quick thinking from the AA gunners and radar crew, many missiles had been shot down. However, many had hit as well. The impact was scattered, hitting the western base as well as ground around it. The base had been evacuated, the men scattering mostly to the hills, but 128 had not been lucky enough to evacuate on time. 47 of those were wounded, the other 81 dead. Many tents had been demolished completely, as well as one of the three radar stations in the base, but aside from that, there was no more damage, though there was no more there to be damaged.

1331 Hours, July 3rd: The Epsilon Iota battalion launched 75 cruise missiles away, to different destinations. All bases on the Primary line had been put on high alert, after they heard of the disasterous attacks on the western Omega base. However, they had to fear for themselves as well. The radars indicated enemy movement far out into the waters off the eastern shore.

Lieutenant General Gaston and Lieutenant Admiral Marcos met again in their command tent at the base to plot out a strategic attack plan. "I say we put the destroyers on alert, keep the men currently in them at the radar and cruise missile controls at all time. I don't want any chance of getting more bases invaded. The Primary Line is already on full alert, the towns and bases on complete lockdown," said Gaston.

Marcos shook his head, solemly, in agreement. "But what about the forces to the south? We need backup."

"High Command has sent the Epsilon Delta Battalion to back us up with 1,000 men and 3 destroyers. As for the Primary Line, we can move troops across it depending on the locations of the skirmishes, as well as get air backup from the Epsilon Gamma Battalion," said Gaston. Marcos nodded again, sighing.

1332 Hours, July 3rd: The Omega base was getting back in order when, suddenly, missiles were heard on the horizon again. All the men panicked, but order was restored shortly afterward when they learned that the missiles were from their own side.

1340 Hours, July 3rd: There were patrols roaming the streets of Twinbrook, which was now on a full lockdown. No men were allowed in and out of the city unless authorization was given by Major Sanders.

1450 Hours, July 3rd: The two Epsilon Delta Battalion fleets arrived at the sides of the island, and began to continue down towards the bases that they were to defend.

1450 Hours, July 3rd: The Epsilon Beta Battalion arrived at the northern islands of Galahad, joining the Epsilon Gamma Battalion forces.

1500 Hours, July 3rd: Collins came into Nik's office again. "We've lost all contact with the Special Forces Militia. They are all assumed dead. They apparently ran into the same bases that launched the missile volley against our western Omega base. Nik just sighed and looked down at the maps, updated already.

They were going to loiter near the surface of the water until they got NAC confirmation that they were good to go.

*USS Holy Fire*

The ATC cleared the F-35C for takeoff, and Storch1 was soon in the air. Others followed suit, and the Storch Squadron was soon in the air. The Group of F-22Cs and F-35Cs quietly and quickly made their way to Ireland, popping on and off the Holy Fire's radar.

*USS Hispaniola*

"Ready launch tubes 4,5, and 6. I want an three Flashers at point Gamma-Foxtrot-Whiskey-Uniform-Fourteen yesterday. Make it happen." The Missile commander aboard the Litheya class, Hispaniola heard his orders and passed them on down the line. He then recieved follow-up orders targeting other GFWU locations. They too were passed on, and several cruise missiles streaked away at top speed.

*USS Simpson*

HE, Incendiary alternating rounds were the order of the day on the Simpson, the Hispaniola's twin sister. With ranges of over 72 miles, the Simpson's 16" guns were soon raining down "Garbage Cans of Doom", as the crew called the massive 1.5 ton rounds. Their destination? The base camps for Tremalkieran forces. They would bombard for 7 minutes, raining down approximately 180 Rounds. They would then pause for the flashers from the Hispaniola to hit the enemy bases, and then the Storch Squadron from Holy Fire would make repeated strafing runs over those bases, and then, finally, the Stinger Battalion was paradrop in, hopefully resecuring Ireland.

**Transmission to TDP HQ**

Stop firing in approximately 8 minutes and keep it off for awhile. We're sending Airborne to Ireland. More detail shortly.

OOC: Flashers are sort of like massive Flasbang Grenades. They produce a light brighter than nuclear explosions. They can also really screw with thermal and laser targeting systems.

Okay, Missiles and shells will connect autonomosly in Tremalkier's next post. (I hope) Storch remains under my control.

White Horse Forces
2 Battalions of Army Rangers- Stinger is lead, Whitefox will follow up 2 hours later.

3 F-22Cs- Carrier modified F/A-22- support F-35s- swapped out every hour to ensure air-superiority.
4 F-35Cs-air support- will be swapped out every hour to ensure DAS

50 M8 Ridgeway AGS- planned to go in 9 hours after Stinger

Other forces will follow.

Trem, do you have any fighters in the area?

B) Your planning to attack, via airborne troops, an island secured by 75,000 troops, with a full 50,000 more on their way. C) You just threw off my entire airborne post. Now I had to put off posting to rewrite the whole damn thing to make your random incursion make any damn sense. So next time, please try and make a reasonible appearance, as it is I'm going to have to deal with you rather harshly)

July 3rd 1037 Hours: Twenty minutes earlier a group of small dots on the horizon had become noticeably larger. Now came the great clamor of thousands of marines piling of their transports, and getting running towards the waiting trucks, which would bring them to Tremalkier's forwardmost bases.

VALKONSKI HQ 1200 Hours

As the Marshal looked at the map, he couldn't help but be pleased. The attempted landing by the Damnians had been repulsed, with only the slight casualties of 107 men, only 32 of which had died. The fools had attempted to assault directly into the teeth of the gathering Tremalkien armor, which was preparing to move out... a costly mistake for the Damnians.

Not only had the only fighting proven intensely satisfying but the reports from the missile strikes showed heavy damage, and although retaliation was likely, it had done its intended purpose...goad the Damnians to the wrong fight.

With the main assault forces under way, all the Tremalkiens had to do was take control of a massively unprotected island, hold on despite Damnian retaliation, and then...then sweep all before them in a storm of shells and blood.

VALKONSKI HQ 1400 Hours

The retaliation from the Damnians had come back much quicker than expected. Of a guessed 70-80 missiles, nearly 40 had reached their targets. The Westernmost camps of the Tremalkien Invasion had been absolutely smashed. The dead were numbered around 240, and as yet the injured were still being countered.

Luckily however, the more forward bases, and the smaller Eastern ones were virtually untouched, with only a single barracks being lost, a mere 12 deaths.

The Marshal slowly looked over the faces of his staff, as he prepared to give the next orders for his Invasionary forces. He knew they had all been waiting for this moment, and it could no longer be put off. "Well men, we have secured our bases, and our main force has landed almost untouched. Its time. Move out of all bases, strike for the heart, I want Ulstin (Dublin) taken immediately. Keep only bare bones in the bases, I don't want the Damnians to ever have a chance of affecting anything on this island."

With a few nods, and the nerves of the staff obviously on end...they prepared the orders that would begin the true fight.

Ulandar Radio Station (Oceaniac-Based Transmittor)

Ludmilla Gornakovicha had never really seen the point of these damned deep ocean radar stations. Its not like anyone was ever stupid enough to decide to attack via the air primarily anymore anyway. The advent of passive radar had ended that stealth craze in a hurry. So, when she turned to look at the screen, and started noticing incoming dots, she thought that they were only ghosts. And yet, these ghosts just kept on coming, and so, she slowly realized, that those...ghosts...had to be, well, real.

"Shitfire! We've got incoming, extremely heavy rounds and incoming aircraft. Long distance logistics show that source origin must be within 15 miles! Dispatch the goddamn T-Wolves now! We need to get rid of whoever is shooting that crap ASAP!"

------- ------- ------- ------- ------- -------------- ------- ------- ------- -------

Commodore Jaeger knew an idiot when he saw one. And today, he sure as hell wasn't facing one. Up in front of him, and his set of subs, where three big, ugly, but most importantly strong ships. Two, of a class he was unfamiliar with, were banging away with some of the biggest guns he had ever seen, the other, an aircraft carrier had apparently already sent off its planes.

"Well boys, looks like we won't be shooting planes out of the air today. Instead, we'll just be sinking big ass boats. Bring the Squadron to periscope depth."

And so, seven T-Wolf Class Submarines slowly raised up, and prepared to punish the folly of attacking right in the middle of Tremalkien supply lines.

"Full spread. Get me three biscuits in the tea, and send em a little sugar just to make sure they don't go anywhere."

Silently the torpedos sped away from submarines, as missile hatches slowly opened, preparing to fire with the first impact.

------- ------- ------- ------- ------- -------------- ------- ------- ------- -------

Captain Jason Tehorn had never thought much of joining the Air Force. Bomb some 4th world countries, get laid, it was all good. So, as his Falconeer patrol left their Eastern base, he expected that his planes flight path would send him towards that big island in the distance. When instead he saw a western path, he could only imagine what he was in for.

------- ------- ------- ------- ------- -------------- ------- ------- ------- -------

VALKONSKI COMMAND 1635 HOURS

The Marshal wasn't the happiest man in the world anymore. Despite virtually unopposed attacks in the small island, the rest of the campaign had just gotten a lot harder.

The Alibakkarian Forces had seemingly come out of nowhere. Their rounds pummeling the only recently moved out of bases, shattering the remaining troops therein, and leaving close to 300 dead. However, retaliation had been swift, and reports were hoped to come in soon about the success of the T-Wolves, and the Falconeers dispatched to deal with the air threat.

All Tremalkier had to do was hold on, until its reinforcements came in, and then it would be time for the Damnians to feel Tremalkier's wrath. But in the meantime, Alibakkar had to be taught a lesson.

"Get the Kaiser on the line. We need to talk business". With a shocked look, the radio technician linked up the necessary feeds, and so the Marshal prepared to ask for something drastic.

"My lord, as you know, we have only recently issued declarations of War against TDP, and Omz222. However, a third country has jumped against us in this war...Alibakkar. We don't know where they came from, or how they are involved, but they have attacked us in force. I need a declaration of war against them...but more urgently...I need Beta Level Clearance in this fight."

Sweat slowly appearing on his face, the Marshal knew the answer would determine his career forever.
"Fine. You've got Beta, and War will be declared within the hour. Should I tell the satellite technicians to get ready?"
"Yes sir. We will be answering their attack within the hour as well."

And so, Marshal Valkonski prepared to teach Alibakkar a lesson in why to declare war. That is, their home turf was about to learn exactly what well trained terrorists could do.

------- ------- ------- ------- ------- -------------- ------- ------- ------- -------

July 5th, 1900 HOURS

Beta Squad had never been given a task that would be so ultimately despicable in the eyes of the world. Even if masked perfectly, Tremalkier would still be suspected, but doubtfully proven guilty of anything.

Poisoning the water supply of a major city was bad...introducing diseases into the environment to hopefully was worse... releasing a massive amount of toxic chemicals into aquifiers was the worst of all...yet doing all of those at once...that was terror.

(OOC: Alibakkar, you can decide how to deal with Beta Squad. They are trained to trigger environmental disasters in target nations, so, you can try and kill them, or whatever, but don't make that sideshow into anything too large)

Err, I need permission to engage? Edit: Okay, yeah I see it. Sorry. Do you want me to go erase my post, or what?

However, my guys are over there and capable of engaging you. Check the older thread.

This wasn't a random incursion- you read the whole thread, right? I assume you saw my transmissions to the GSDF commander?

What airborne post?

The 4th Fleet is about 63 Miles away from Ireland. My post said that the Litheya's guns had a range of over 72 miles, and missiles and aircraft can go further than that as well.

B- Well, that's just me, okay.

I haven't declared war because this was considered a limited engagement.

(OOC: You can leave your post Alibakkar, I did change my plans. Secondly, you said you were going to parachute in troops, that is Airborne. Lastly, a defensive grid over a war zone is normally much more than 72 miles in terms of supply lines and submarines. I had to defend my supplies, so I have ships back there, thereby, your sitting in the middle of hostile waters. Your on the absolute wrong side of the battle, because frankly, I own the West.)

Q

I'm assuming that Radar station is like a Texas Tower or something. Is this fairly accurate?

Can I get a list of current air power in Ireland?

So, do I completely control the Beta Squad Subplot?

July 5th, 0100 hours. Just barely after midnight, a lone group of 50 men known only as the GHOSTs -- an elite division of the Shadow Stalkers specializing in covert/psionic warfare -- make it to within 400 meters of the southern Galahad medium-ranged radar facility. At the edge of a small plateau, the leader of the group, Ltn. James Raynor, sat and viewed the unsuspecting facility through his IR/NV binoculars.

"What can you see Lieutenant?"

"They have about... 50 men... a few flatbeds... and a tank in the rear of the complex. I'm not sure what's inside the facility itself but I'll take a venture it's scientists, specialists and technicians. And probably alarm systems."

"Yes. Most definitely."

"Take Wraith Company around the back and cause a distraction. I'll take Spectre Company off to the side and wedge in through their vehicle line unnoticed. Once there we will enter the main building and cut the power. Then you distract them long enough for us to eliminate all personnel onsite, finishing up with whatever your team leaves remaining."

"Yes sir."

Motioning to the 24 men behind him, Wraith Company proceeds to the control point behind the radar base where most of the enemy soldiers are gathered. Meanwhile, Spectre Company sweeps in from the side, hiding among the many trucks parked near the auxillary building. Ltn. Raynor then signals his men to hurry around to the rear of the building, where the circuit breakers are located. One by one the switches are shut off, leaving the base totally without power and no way to communicate for help. Having accomplished the first task, Raynor and his men infiltrate the dome shaped radar building through an unlocked Authorized-Personnel-Only door. Hearing the voices of confused radar techies, Raynor then draws his silenced .45-Special, and motions for the rest of his men to do so as well.

(OOC: H3, how can you tell me how my bases are designed? Firstly, they are very low maintenance facilities, consisting of small makeshift radar towers and tents. The outside line is guarded by a constant nightwatch, though I know your GHOSTs might be able to slip by, but each group of tents has an individual power core located in the center of their own respective grids, meaning your troops would basically be sitting inside of a tent with about 5 of my men just to switch off the power for one grid. I'm not going to respond this yet because a) we need to go over it, I'm not even sure if it's my primary line you're attacking, and b) I'm not on July 5th yet.)

IC:

1230 Hours, July 3rd: High Command got a telegram from Alibakkarian High Command ordering them to stop launching cruise missiles into the western island. High command complied with the request, and notified Colllins of the request and response.

1400 Hours, July 3rd: Twinbrook and Agaeis were open again, but only with maximum security. Major Sanders had been put in control of both towns, and Sargeant Major Swindon was to report to him if anything got out of hand in Agaeis while he was in Twinbrook. The townspeople remained cheerful, however, along with the soldiers. The privates all showed off their muscles to the young townsgirls, and there were dances every Friday night in the quain and somewhat rustic towns. It almost made them forget there was a war.

1500 Hours, July 3rd: The Omega bases were all on high alert, but that was usual. The guards scanned the hillsides to the south every so often for signs of possible enemy invasion, so that extra men could be rallied to the point. Nothing had happened as of yet bar the one missile attack on the westernmost base. The livestock were growing fat, and there was no shortage of foods coming in from the towns either, so aside from boredom, the men had no problems. And boredom wasn't even really a problem.

1600 Hours, July 3rd: The Epsilon Delta Battalion had made it safely in to the two bases they had been sent to guard by sticking close to shore. No conflict or resistance from enemy troops had been encountered against the fleets, as of yet. They landed at the two bases on the sides of the Primary Line and unloaded the 1,000 men they each carried onto the shores.

1630 Hours, July 3rd: "The Epsilon Delta Battalion has now completely landed in both eastern and western bases," said Lieutenant General Gaston to Marcos, "We've now got much better defense. High Command had no more to say to us. The ships from the Battalion remain lightly guarded, but approximately 900-1,000 troops have been unloaded in each base. Have we anything else to ask of High Command?"

"Not at the moment," responded Lieutenant Admiral Marcos, "Fortunately, attacks have been at a minimum, and it is a good thing to know that we have an unbroken supply line."

"Quite."
"Yes."
"Hmm."
"However, who is in command of the Epsilon Delta Battalion?"
"Ah... that would be the thing, see-" began Gaston, but he was interrupted.

A newcomer entered the tent and stretched out his arms. The man had a slight redneck tan, and wore his cap slung at rakish angle, his uniform unbuttoned showing a bare chest, and he walked further into the tent. "Damn, it's hotter than a rat's ass in hell today, ain't it?" asked the stranger.

Gaston, unimpressed, addressed the man, "Who might you be and what authorization do you have to come in here?"

"Well well well," responded the man, "All hoighty-toighty, aren't we? I happen to be Sargeant General Matthews from the Epsilon Delta Battalion. You know, the battalion that's in here to save your asses from the matches?"

"Well then, Sargeant General Matthews, I am Lieutenant General Gaston and this here is Lieutenant Admiral Marcos. You are to address us both as 'sir," responded Gaston.
"Let's just cut the bull and get down to business, gents," interjected Matthews, "Where exactly are we going to come at these bastards from?"
"We are not 'coming at them' from anywhere, Sargeant General, and hold your impudent tongue when you address a superior officer."
"We'll don't you have the authority stick up your ass today..."
"Matthews!"
"Hey, sir, let's get this straight: I'm not here to take any shit, and neither are you. Now let's get to business. What front on this map are we attacking from?"
"WE are not attacking! We are preparing for enemy attack and waiting! That is the course of action we are taking, Sargeant General!"
"Sounds like a shit plan to me."

At this point, Marcos began to laugh slightly, at the scene of the now infuriated Gaston being so blatantly disrespected by this new Sargeant General. Gaston turned an accusatory and thoroughly annoyed eye towards Marcos, which only made him laugh harder, until he broke out, held his sides, and doubled over with it. This made Gaston quite clearly pissed.

"Lieutenant Admiral!" said Gaston.
"What? So the boy's a bit cracked up. Let it be," said Matthews.
"You will not address him as a boy!" responded Gaston.
"Ha... you- ha! This is just too grea- whoo!" gasped Marcos.
"I'll call him whatever I damn want if he's fine with it, whitey tighty!"
"How dare you!"
"You guys- Ha! Let's get-pant-back to work on... ha ha ha ha!"
"So this boy isn't a bit knocked out up there? Then you tell me what his problem is."
"This 'boy' is your commanding officer and you will treat him with respect as such! I... you... augh! You, officer, are a very impudent man and I shall report you to High Command for your insolence towards a superior officer!"
"How about I give you a chill pill in the shape of my fist, superior officer?"
"Why you little-"
"Guys, guys, come on..."
"Little what? Yeah! That's about what I thought!"
"I'll rip you limb from limb, you egotistical redneck!"
"Son of a mother, what did you say?"
"You heard me, god damn little-"
"Guys! Come on!"
"You dare to use the Lord's name in vain? Why I oughta..."

The rest of the meeting more or less continued as such until night fell, and the three retired to their own private tents, amid bewildered looks from many other officers in the same base. That night, they all had a good night's sleep.

1630 Hours, July 3rd: Collins walked into Nik's office to give a brief summary of the current war reports. "ED Battalion has made it safely to shores, no major conflict as of late. Primary line still held. No homeland attacks either, as is apparent. However, borders are still closed to Tremalkiens in case of attack," said Collins.

"Keep borders closed. We may have to close them completely soon, which is something I will not want to do," responded Nik, flipping through the pages of the latest report. "Ok... well this looks fine... and-"

"Oh, another thing, sir: we've finally gotten some assistance from the Alibakkarians. They requested we stop missile launching into the western island which we did, and they are planning an air strike which I believe is happening as we speak. As for the missiles, I believe, due to the few reports we can muster, that they have succeeded in doing quite a bit of damage."

"Alibakkar is in? Good. No, great. Any word from Omz?"

"None, sir."

"Very well. Well, one more thing, before you go, Collins: I want the north of the eastern island protected. Send down the Epsilon Zeta Battalion with 1 carrier and 1,000 men to a spot on the northern shore and keep them there. You are dismissed."

Collins walked out of the room, and Nik turned back to the maps. It was useless, waiting for an attack. But they'd need to get a better idea of the Alibakkarian strategy and Omzian strategy... if Omz was even willing to protect their own colony. It was difficult...

(OOC: Alibakkar, I haven't yet detailed my support. But heres the deal basically. Tremalkier, being slightly post-modern tech, nothing too advanced is heavily anti-aircraft. A main weapon of the Tremalkien Regulars (Hammers, Marines, etc) is an RPG with a specialized DU shell. This is called a Dart. Its also a anti-tank weapon (though that uses a different type of grenade). If used properly, it basically is an anti-aircraft shrapnel grenade, spraying shards of DU with small explosives therein. Thereby, we don't use much air or S-A defenses, as our men should be able to handle the situation themselves. Same with tanks. Its our primary advantage.)

Current Tremalkien Support
Air:
10 Falconeer Squadrons (40 planes per squadron, broken into 10 Sub-Squadrions. Falconeer is basically an advanced F-37)
3 Iron Peregrine Squadrons (Take a B-52, add a better engine, and a retro-fitted look for added manuverability, thats a Iron Peregrine.)
45 Hind Falcon Class (An advanced Hind Mi-24)

Ground:
12 Sledge Class Armor Brigades (100 Tanks. Sledge is a basically a M1A2 SEP with better speed, slightly heavier armor, and a better equipment system for communications and the like)
A crapload of artillery.

(OOC2: Just a note for my enemies. Tremalkier has a fourfold strategy.
A) Eliminate the support of the enemy through use of heavy weapons, so as to neutralize air+tanks.
B) Use speed+better communications to quickly overrun positions.
C) Artillery is of the esscence. Every division or brigade or even company of every type must have at very least a mortar battery, normally a heavy and multiple light ones. But due to the last strategy there is no set grouping.
D) Be flexible. Allow for protracted war and speed. Thereby make equipment fluid, and provided as needed in terms of speed or heavier protection. Keep Artillery under two commands, of both central artillery for the whole campaign, and unit support.)

IC:

July 3rd, 1900 Hours: The Epsilon Zeta Battalion landed on the northern shores of the main island, forces spilling out onto the sand. 500 of the 1,000 troops were to move down the mainland, while another 500 stayed behind. The 500 staying behind were skilled in construction, and had orders to set up concrete fortifications on the northern shore. The project would take weeks, at best, but the Epsilon Zeta Battalion carriers were to constantly supply them with what they needed: food, weapons, materials...

The 500 men moving down the mainland were to arrive at the Primary Line, and then strike out as another SFM into the south of the larger island to root out enemy bases, then report back.

July 3rd, 2000 Hours: The Omega Flight Squadron was making a bombing run, consisting of 32 Warthog bombers and 160 men, over the western island of Galahad. Another half hour, and they would reach their destinations and unload the various MK-88 LDGPs and MK-82 LDGPs on the unsuspecting targets. And then, the attempt to get away would come into play.

July 3rd, 2200 Hours: Collins walked into Nik's room. "We haven't heard yet from the bombing squad. They should be tuning in soon. I'm going home, sir. All has gone according to plan with the Epsilon Zeta Battalion."

Nik looked up at him. "How about I treat you and the wife to dinner, Collins?" he said. Collins' face broke into a smile, and as he held his hat over his chest, his briefcase in the other hand, he was about to reply, when there was a knocking at the door. "Come in," said Nik, and in the person came.

It was none other than Al-Huasid, as it turned out, the leader of the notorious United Liberation Army, or the ULA. The ULA was a Damnian terrorist group bent on the domination and supremacy of the Jeravik race, which constantly made attempts to overthrow the current government.

In he walked, with 10 stormtroopers all in ULA uniform marching behind him. But this time, they didn't have the regular commando gear with the ULA patches on, but rather gas masks under black helmets, and completely black jumpsuits. The 10 terrorists lined up against the back wall, each with an AK-47 at the ready.

"AK-47s?" asked Nik, "And stormtrooper costumes? A tad cliché, if you ask me."

"I didn't," responded Al-Huasid, "And boy are you going to love what I have to tell you." Nik looked attentively at Al-Huasid, trying hard to remain calm from behind the desk. Collins, still standing, set down the briefcase and sat down in one of the chairs, setting his hat on top of the briefcase. "These 10 men in masks are all different men who have infiltrated various positions in your government offices," said Al-Huasid, "For instance," he walked up to one of the troopers, "this is Don Marcosovic, who has been kind enough to be one of your many janitors. Earlier today, he came in here to 'clean up', and at the same time cut out your communications, panic button, took away your self defense weapons hidden around the room, and locked off secret exits. Thanks for the blueprints, by the way," and Al-Huasid finished by holding up a set of prints that had been located in a boiler room.

"And that's just the beginning," Al-Huasid began, "You know why Weinstein made the report of Tremalkien attack on false information? Well, you're about to find out. But only you, Nik, not him." And with this, he pulled out a pistol and promptly shot Collins in the chest, who was knocked off the chair by the blow and landed face down on the carpet, unmoving.

OOC: Okay, i'm here guys. My sister had commandeered the comp for a few days for some project on John Nash. BTW, something occured to me at school today. Would you really have been able to set up a deep water radar station in a few days?

**Storch Squadron**

Storch Leader crusied along at over Mach 2. He tried to maintain radio silence, but after thinking it over, decided that it was kind of pointless. So, on a seperate channel, Booze and Honker were talking about their avid sex life, while Kiholis kept silence, being more professional. Hah. He was probably going over missile evasion tactics or something. He was a good pilot, but Leader, or Raven, didn't really like him. He looked at his HUD corner. Holy crap. There were 31 miles off the coast or Ireland. The Radar showed a large, nonmoving structure, and an IF group coming in from the East. Raven spoke into the mask.

"EVERYBODY SHUT THE HELL UP! We have multiple contacts bearing Golf Echo 14-18, and a solo bearing Golf November 3. Kiholis and Booze, GN3 is a radar tower or something, go take it down with as little fire as posssible, everybody else, head towards Bandit Group1! Meet up at HQ-HF in around 30. This is why we make the big bucks!"

He adjusted his direction with the rest of the group simultaneously, and they barely even got out of formation. He saw Booze and Kiholis as two Radar blips heading to the North. A thought struck him. He radioed into Hotel Foxtrot.

**4th Fleet**

The Hispaniola's captain looked over the sonar ensign's shoulder. He had been performing the rounds when he saw 3-4 dots on-screen. He had scanned the ships, and they looked mean.

More dots. Damn, Torpedos! "Battle Stations! Evasive Action Money15, followed by DeepBlue-0-4! Load Piercers in the ports!" The Captains voice traveled thoughout the ship, and everybody scrambled to their stations. The ones that were already on active duty began loading spine-tipped torpedos into the firing tubes. On the deck, 3 RIBs were deployed with Scorpion systems onboard. They sped off, and the Hispaniola averted her course at 17 knots, as well as deploying flares. Similar Actions happened on the Simpson. Shwooooooo! Shwoooooooo!
Two jet-like torpedos blasted out of their tubes and accelerated to over 370 knots towards their targets. They were loaded with STAB rounds, which could punch through 11 feet of steel.

Meanwhile, SH-60F pilot Julio Perez took off from the Holy Fire. The contacts had been acquired, they were going with a partner to lock them down and kill them. Meanwhile, the ship's nuclear reactors got going blasting, and the massive Nimitz shifted her position to the West. Holy Fire was going home, along with 3 Hewitts.

**Joldis, 4th Command office**

Spitz listened to the live radio transmissions. Man, it pissed him off. The plans had been fucked by a damn radar tower. What jackoff had missed that? He made a personal transmission to the Pelican Lead and Straggler. "You are to turn around. Repeat, you are to turn around and return to Goliad at once. SNAFU, Repeat SNAFUotC."

"Acknowledged, changing flight paths now."

"Roger."

Fuck. He opened up a pack of Gaspers and drew deep on one.

Fifteen minutes later, a runner from the Comm station entered the room. He caught a glimpse of the packet- it was titled: "Force Change-Pri2" When the staffer handed him the packet and saluted, Spitz half-saluted, putting the man at ease and getting him a bit miffed. Sptiz didn't give a shit. He opened the folder. It was like a dirty, warm blanket.

You are going to be reinforced with the rest of the 5th Army in 6 Days, per the opening of hostilites with the Tremalkien forces. The President, with congressional approval, has issued a DoW as of July 4th, 2300 hours. Enclosed are a list of possible invasion plans for the land of Ireland, your primary objective. And try to cooperate with the Damnians. They will be your best ally, despite your personal past with others.

Thomas Carter, General of the Army

He had to remind him. Back in '83, his Grandpa has been mugged and killed by a Damnian immigrant. He didn't like them, but he was willing to work with them. For awhile anyway.

**Transmission to Damnian HQ**
Thank you for the delay of your missile bombardment. You may resume fire at your discretion. There was a SNAFU, and our operation was canceled. There will be more in the future, however.

We will be fighting alongside you for this cause. The Forces we can bring to the fight are: (OOC Forces list; TDP now knows IC). It would be most efficient to formulate a joint plan. Planners are being flown via civvy transport to the UK to meet with you. They are quite skilled.

(OOC: errrr...I must have missed that you thought that my RS-103 Sub was an actual radar tower. (The RS-103 is just a kind of relay station for our submarines, basically a bigass radar/radio transmittor which coordinates with the satellite grid to also survey supply lines. Thereby, when you came bearing down on us via our supply lines, I picked you up on the Sub's radar....i missed that you thought it was a tower)
IC:
Commodore Jaeger was in trouble and he knew it. The Wolves had been too far when they fired, and the damn ships looked like they were going to make it. Unfortunately, it didn't look like all the subs would get away so easy. Even as he transmitted the orders for 2 Harpoons per Submarine to fire at the Nemitzs, he knew that a sacrifice would be necessary.
"Captain Transin this is Jaeger, incoming torpedos closing on our position. Your wolf is at point, and is being sacrificed for the squadron. Surface your ship and begin sending out heat and radar blasts. I want ever torpedo on you like flies on a carcasse. Permission granted for use of any and all weapons release before impact. Including Mark Is, and as many as can escape to do so. Godspeed."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Slowly emerging the handful of feet necessary, Captain Transin gave the three necessary orders to save his squadron.
"Men, this is the captain, all non-missile crew to abandon ship. Activate honer systems for incoming torpedos. Finally, launch everything we've got in the missile banks at the Nemitzs...everything."
With a startled look his staff officer grabbed his arm, hoping to avert the order. But it was too late.

The two hatches for the T1-ANEMPs were open, and it was launching.

(OOC: The ANEMP is an anti-naval EMP weapon. Range is about 1 mile in radius, and the weapon looks just like a Harpoon. With 12 of those from the other Subs, and 12 from the sacrificed T-Wolf, they should (theoretically) be no different from the rest except in their payload.)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
July 3rd 2100 Hours
Marshal Valkonski had a bit of a problem. Although from initial reports from the Western defenses, the ABs had been repulsed. Unfortunately, unconvential weapons had been deployed, and a T-Wolf sacrificed. To make matters worse, reports streaming in from the East warned of imminent bombings...with nothing capable of getting there in time except to hit the bombers after they hit their targets. The orders for the 3rd Falconeer Squadron to engage the bombers had been given. And yet...the Marshal wasn't worried with all the bad turns of events.

With a small tilt of his head, his radio technician got ready to transmit.
"Men of the Tremalkien Expeditionary Invasion group you have fought well. Already today, you have managed to secure most of this lesser island of Galahad unopposed. And yet, in exactly 2 hours, the Greater Invasionary Force shall arrive. 50,000 of our most well trained troops shall arrive. And 12 hours after that, with this authorization, the newly organized Annexation Team will be completed, with the arrival of a second identical 50,000 troops, a division of Niall specialists, and a double complement of our current air and armor support. Escorting this ground force will be our Expeditionary Fleet, with 4 Squadrons of T-Wolves, 6 Iron Fist class Long Range Bombard ships, and 3 Nemitzs class Carriers. Along with a full escort of destroyers, cruisers, and whatnot. But you don't care about all that do you men? Here is the order you've all been waiting for. Commence Operation Stonecutter!"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2415 Hours
Lieutenant-Colonel Stenlin was busy doodling when a small box appeared in his computer screen. Although at first he paid little attention, after about 30 minutes he finally noticed it. As he read the contents, his eyebrows slowly rose, until he leaped up, and began shouting orders.
"Prepare to launch all Stonecutter groups! I want Harpoons, Tridents, Champion IIIs, Sidewinders, ALCs, you name it ready to fire within the next 5 minutes. Alert the artillery, bombarment to commence in exactly 5 minutes!"
In a panic, Stenlin rushed into the control center, making sure that the everything was ready. "Launch everything, and get the artillery firing now! We are 30 minutes late already! The first missile strikes from the Fleet should be hitting now, and those from these bases will be striking within the next 5 minutes! FIRE RIGHT NOW GODDAMN IT!"

And slowly the sky filled with missiles and artillery shells above the base, as nearly 100 various missiles fired within five minutes, and 312 combined artillery firing in short intervals within the next 10.Combined with the beginnings of a naval bombardment all along the South Western half of the Damnian primary line, the various units of the Devastator Group on the Southern Coast of the Main Island began to advance.

(OOC: H3, you should be reinforcing the Devastator Group's advance soon. Also, TDP, I'm being forced to use a Mac right now, as my comp is dead, so I don't know what particular program I can use to send you the maps.)

IC:

*Yoli Attack Group*

The 4 small RIBs blasted along the surface of the ocean at more than 81 knots. They were equipped with SR Sonar and had a few locations locked in as the primary targets for their Scorpion Systems. As they approached the target area, Marshall Dinas saw a submarine surface at an incredibly short distance from them. He signalled to the other men in his boat, who in turn radioed another RIB to go and take him out, or at least mess with him. The rest of the group continued on and soon found their Sonars showing that they were just above a sub pack. He signalled to the other RIBs to deploy the Scorpions. He heard a few beeps from the gunner's station, and then heard as about 450 50mm Sonar-tracking grenades from all of the RIBs blast down into the water at a slight angle. They would hunt for their targets and could even maneuver a bit, as long as the targets were within a few hundred yards.

The other RIB, now operating as Yoli-Foxtrot came within 51 yards of the surfaced sub and targeted with the Scorpions. Just as they laser-locked, they saw several missiles firing from hatching. "Fire, Fire, Fire! Don't let them breathe!" And then Norton Koll pressed a button on the launch system, firing 150 50mm Grenades at the craft, covering the craft with explosions. Norton then radioed into the Hispaniola with fire coordinates.

*Alicana Striker Force*

Julio Perez guided the SH-60 to a smooth flight over the surface of the water. His partners led to the left and forward of him. He saw several RIBs circling an area just ahead of them. That was the signal to begin Active Sonar Dips, or ASDs. Perez dropped to just over 40 Yards over the water, an under bay opened up, and several probes dropped down and sped forward. His Gunman began picking up detailed sonar contacts through his link with on of the probes. He readied 2 HE Supercavitating Torpedos, and as the RIBs came within 30 Yards, he let them fly. His partners did the same, and theirs would contact a few milliseconds before theirs. (OOC:A supercavitating torpedo flies through the water like a jet and will contact in about 1-2 seconds, okay? Can I also get numbers from my earlier torps? They're like massive, disturbingly fast KE penetrators.)

*The Holy Fire*

The Holy Fire's radar systems picked up a massive swarm of missiles blazing towards them. Vanguarders immediately opened up on them with masses of StingerBs and Thousands of GAU/8 Rounds. The Hispaniola and Simpson, not currently under missile threat, directed their Vanguards to the missile hordes rearing down on the Holy Fire.

*The Hispaniola*

"We have recieved fire request from the Yoli Group. Load HE 8" Rounds."

"Loading....Loaded."
"Loading....Loaded."
"Loading....Loaded."
"Loading....Loaded."
"All systems loaded, ready to fire."

"Commencing Fire."

********************

"Round is on target, repeat, round is on target, Fire for Effect!"

And so Hisapaniola commenced an 8" Pummeling of a surfaced Submarine for 45 seconds, 8 rounds launching every 5 seconds. (OOC: 72 HE 8" Rounds)

*Joldis Command HQ*

A flurry of information his Greg Spitz all at once. Reports of the naval encounter were top on the list, with news that an intense bombardment of Damnian positions following, and then news that Spitz had a Pri2 message from HHQ. He asorbed the first two momentarily, and then read the Pri2 from HHQ.

(OOC: Alibakkar, I'm not having my Sub squadron destroyed. Frankly, the whole point of the endeavour, from their appearance, to what should have been an impossible to avoid torpedo spread [7 subs with 3 apiece is just about impossible to avoid], and then the Mark I, which is nuclear, were all little subtle hints that your force didn't make sense. As for the suber-torpedo, it along with all the other crap you just popped at my Subs...from magically appearing aircraft it would appear...is going to be going after the hot sub. The other ones would have easily fired by the time even your instantaneously appearing reinforcements got there. Thereby, I'm not going to ignore what you've done as a godmode, I'm just going to do the exact same thing as you to minimize the damage, and give you the chance to make a legitimate entry into the war, not magically appearing forces. As for my submarines positions, you realize they can launch missiles from below the surface right? Its not exactly new technology. Finally, I'm not retarted. I don't gather all my subs within the distance it takes for a handful of aircraft to wipe them all out. They are spread apart, covering the East and South area behind your ships, with a staggered formation. So, as above, I'm just going to tweak what you've done to make it somewhat more realistic.)

Commodore Jaeger breathed a heavy sigh of relief. The aircraft had come out of nowhere, but Transin had done his duty. Even though his missiles had not managed to launch before the first strikes of the seemingly instantaneously appearing aircraft, Transin's sub had taken almost all the damage, including some sort of super-torpedo as planned. It appeared that there would be no survivors. As it was though, the other T-Wolves, spread over the water as they were had managed to launch their harpoons, and it would only be a matter of time before they hit.

OOC: I can understand you not wanting to lose your men, but, frankly, nobody does. I might as well say that i'm not having my fleet destroyed.

They're not magically appearing man, you read my first post right? I deployed both the RIBs and the SH-60F. You were apperently right there from your insta-retaliation, and i'm assuming at least 30ish seconds went by.

And it's not a super-torpedo, it's just blazing fast. The Russians have a working supercavitating Torpedo right now. I am near-future tech, so that is no problem.

Why do my forces not make sense?

And yes, I know you can launch missiles submerged. Did I indicate that I thought only 12 missiles or so were coming at me? If so, i'm sorry. I have quite good CIWS, btw.

And, you're firing nuclear torpedos at me? What yield?

Okay, yeah, you're right about the spread formation. When was this indicated, though?

Were you going to start Beta Squad anytime soon?

ooc: Tremalkier, where exactly is the Devastator group? I can't send reinforcements unless I know some coordinates...

ic: July 4th 0100 hours. (This is before the radar-destruction objective, btw) Recieving a priority 1 distress call from several vessels in the Tremalkien command fleet, Admiral Kerrigan of the Ragnarok orders deployment of his own Battle Group into the Galahadian Channel. Passive sonar had been picking up heated activity for the past 4 hours, and the Tremalkien distress message had indicated some kind of submarine battle had been raging on well past midnight. Not wanting to lose his ships so easily to enemy torpedo fire, the Admiral quickly halted the Ragnarok's movement and ordered a depth charge bombardment of the surrounding waters. Emerging from the stern of the 5 Kidd class destroyers were massive cannon barrels fixed on a 45 degree angle. From the back, 3 men loaded in an 800lb depth charge projectile, closed the breach and fired. A total of 35 of these had been fired in the course of a minute, and sonar activity indicated that the submarines in the area were employing evasive maneuvers. It would only be a matter of time before they scored direct hits, or were hit themselves by barrages of super cavitation torpedoes. But before that could be a problem, H3's own 95th Submarine Command fleet would be within range to fire their own super cavitation torpedo - the Diablo.

The SH-60F is a chopper, but since you asked,

When the flight deck is in full "cyclic" mode, it launches a combat aircraft every 20 seconds."

People were silent for a few moments, thinking. The Vice President then asked, “All in support?” Several, about 9 raised their hands. Jonathan Jackson and the Director of International Affairs remained in disagreement. “Very well. I’ll reccomend the Pres to mobilize the 4th. Meeting Adjourned.”

"GET THOSE BRADLEYS IN THE TEMP!"

"Hey, help me out with this, the tread's jacked up."

"DO YOU WANT TO BE BOMBED OR COURT MARTIALED?! GET YOUR GRAB-ASSTIC FACE UP TO THE CHECK-IN!"

The sounds of organized chaos filled Gothil as 80,000 new arrivals flooded the beaches, ports, and streets. The first forces had originally offloaded nearly 4 hours ago, but things were in a mess once the Abramses started clogging up the area. It would estimated to be a day before the chokehold was ended.

9 KM offshore, the 4th Armada, composed of the 2nd and 8th Fleets, patrolled and tried to sort things out globally.

The officer in charge of this entire operation was Brigadier General Greg Spitz. He had served in the Marine Corp for 8 years, and was as experienced as they came in Alibakkar.

It's implied.

You mentioned no time difference between detection and retaliation.

You don't outrun a torpedo, you get away from it by changing course so you're not as affected by the blast, hopefully not at all. You also deploy countermeasures, buoys, flares, etc, to draw the torps attention. (You did the same thing, on a larger scale, with your active sub tactic.)

If I can come on, I will try to and try to post something here, but it will be a slim chance. Feel free to RP out the slaughter of my 25,000 or so troops. You've got my maps and stats, the ball's in your court. Thanks again.

(OOC: AB, this is exactly what I didn't what this post to become. But if I must. A) Implication is not a declaration of war, nor is it an explanation of your fleet/random ships. B) Full cyclic mode, as PS so nicely put it, is only in use when your in an active battle situation. It means that basically you send out the planes, ASAP, and as they return you do the same. It requires time to set up, and is back-breakingly fast and tiring for those involved. You would have had no reason to be in such a state, as you had sent a very long ranged mission, and you were basically being attacked via submarines, which would not require immediate air support of the nature FCM gives. C) It still stands to reason that you can't avoid multiple torpedos in that kind of spread. Turning in fact only works a fraction of the time, and the same with counter-measures. Having any kind of decent torpedos will usually assure a hit unless a "hotter" target becomes available, alike to my sacrificied sub. Finally, as for a timeless retaliation, you gave no attack time, thereby making it impossible to give an exact time. Not to mention the fact that by the very nature of the counter-attack there wouldn't possibly be any need to give a time, except with the bombers, as your ships weren't going anywhere.)

July 6th 400 HOURS
Alibakkar, capital outskirts

Major Kenvshik had only recently gained control of Beta Squad. In that short time his men had done more successful covert operations than in the five years before. The reformed group, hashed together from the remnants of Alpha Squad, the Niall group so treacherously betrayed years before, was more ruthless, and deadly then ever.

So, when the 100 man squad received its orders earlier that morning, there was no surprise, no remorse, only a business-like determination to get the job done.

Beta Squad Objectives
1) Find major pipelines for freshwater into and out of the city.
2) Find any Sewage control plants, and water treatment facilities.
3) Find major bodies of water and/or food producing areas.
4) Gain access to at least one governmental mainframe, for a period of at least 2 hours, unrestricted.

None of the objectives were impossible, but the implications for all were to say the least, atrocious. Unless the Alibakkarian authorities managed to find every fractured group, Beta Squad would be able to begin an ecological disaster of unprecedented power.

Beta Squad Missions
1) Destroy and/or poison major water supplies.
2) Shut down water treatment, and/or destroy treatment facilities.
3) Introduce E-Ulandi Bacteria to destroy plant life in major food producing areas
4) Hack governmental mainframes and shut down and/or delete as much as possible.

THE SH-60 IS A CHOPPER AND REQUIRES NO TAKEOFF TIME

Why do you keep saying my ships are random?

I did not declare war because I was reinforcing an Alibakkarian position; I did not move troops to the waters of a foreign nation, which would require war, generally in Alibakkar.

I'm doing this partly because it probably is the most realistic, and partly because I want to get past the naval junk. (And on to the ecological terrorism; Yay! :o )

IC:

The Simpson's crew, from the engine room to the island, felt the blast as a torpedo impacted hard on the port side. The engines stalled as rapid flooding began in the lower levels. 10 seconds later, the slowed Simpson was hit again, and the Simpson began to slowly sink into the ocean.

On the Hispaniola, the loss was much quicker. 3 Torpedos impacted near simultaneously at the worse place on the ship: The Ammo Bank. The Resulting explosion ripped the ship in two, and a pair of 8" Guns went sky-high. There would be no survivors.

The Holy Fire saw as each Litheya went into the night in their own ways. The Vanguard Gunners were determined not to let a missile strike their great ship. The Holy Fire would not succumb. But as the ship maneuvered to avoid torpedos, the other threat, there was a brief moment when no gunner had a clear shot at the starboard side, and that was when the Harpoon impacted on the Holy Fire's island. All able members of the crew looked up at the peak in awkward amazement and a sense of sorow as the Island became a twisted wreck of metal and sparks. The ship continued at 6 knots, the speed it had been at when struck, for about 15 seconds more. The ship was struck by a swarm of torpedos in it's delayed state, and the smoky clouds covered the once-proud Holy Fire and her crew until she slid into the black ocean.

*Channel 8- 10:45 News*

[A shallow man with good teeth reads the teleprompter, and informs people of the events of the last 4.5 hours]

"Breaking News: The 4th Fleet, which had been operating off the coast of West Alicana for 13 days, was sunk this evening. The 4th had been engaged in a battle with Tremalkieran submarines until about 45 minutes ago, when the Holy Fire, Simpson, Hispaniola, and their support vessels were defeated, and sank into the ocean.

This action has urged Congress, assembled just 1/2 an hour ago, to appprove the motion that the President presented yesterday, declaring war on Tremalkier.

For the first time in over 162 years, the Nation of Alibakkar is at war.

More information as we recieve it."

"... As a part of the motion, Alibakkar's borders are closing to Tremalkieran citizens, and any person immigarated within the past 3 Weeks will be deported until further notice..."

"...military is going to DefCon3, the terrorist threat is at level 1,..."

And so the people of Alibakkar recieved the news that, for the first time in many generations, the Nation of Alibakkar was going to war.

*6th Army HeadQuarters, Fort Gerring Military Base*

Damn. PFC Enrique Lopez recieved the news like most people: with shock. The military was his ticket out of the Ghetto; he didn't want to play Superman. It pissed him off to see that his squadmate Jinzo was actually looking forward to it. They had gotten orders to get ready for an assault on the UK. They were shipping out the morning after tomorrow. Damn.

The Kaiser was ay happy man. Finally, with the declaration of war from Alibakkar, Tremalkier could afford to begin a true war of Expansion. Today, he would announce the policy that would finally bring the great Tremalkien (OOC: AB, note its TREMALKIEN) war machine into play.

"Less than five hours ago, the President of Alibakkar approved a declaration of war against our most august state. They have entered a war where they weren't wanted, they have entered a battle we were about to win. This cannot be left unpunished. Today, the Active Army has been assembled, and every regular unit has been made ready."

"At the same time, Tremalkier is moving into a war-time economy. The State will seize all remaining independant industry, and begin to manufacture primarily weaponry, and other necessary items. Rationing, and other war-time efforts are to reenacted on the citizenry, until further notice, the writ of habeaus corbeaus is suspended, and capital punishment is to be made the standard punishment for treason."

"As of right now, Tremalkier is activiting all Delta 3 class units. This includes all unemployed, self-employed, or automatable workers, as well as all reserve units. These units have all been trained under the Mandatory Conscription and Training Act, and all shipping is being retrofitted, and begun to move solely in convoy form."

"As of now, Tremalkier is giving Alibakkar a single opportunity to withdraw from this war, without shame, and without bloodshed. Your only forces to move against Galahad were slaughtered, as you can expect all attempts to be. For if you fail to back down, we shall hound you at every step, we shall kill your citizens without mercy, and you shall find us in your own backyard with every step you take! Our zodiacs will slaughter your men before they ever can land their ships, and our Hammers will eradicate them if they do land."

"The major components of the Zodiac Fleet, along with the regular Kaiser Fleet Group, will be moving to intercept the major routes between Alibakkar and Galahad. As per the request of the Marshal commanding our glorious ground forces there, are massively superior 5 to 1 advantage will be further augmented by a final force of 3 Hammer Battle Groups! A massive 10 to 1 advantage will be wrought from the fires of Galahad, and nothing shall survive our storm! And once Galahad has fallen, then...then may our enemies quake and fear...for nobody shall ever casually dismiss Tremalkier again!"

(OOC: A couple of quick notes. 1) A zodiac, for those infamiliar with my navy, is basically a small motorboat/large rubber tube with a powerful engine, and an assortment of possible weapons. From suicide packings of C-4, to torpedo's, to a single 3 inch gun, to anti-aircraft weaponry, you name it. The "rubber tube" is of course augmented by a ring of steel and kevlar like material to stop machine gun rounds from being devastating, although cannon rounds can penetrate. Finally, yes Alibakkar, I am threatening your home ground with invasion. After committing a full 250,000 men to fight TDP's 25k, unless you get there before I can finish the slaughter, Galahad is as good as mine [I'll give you the time to land]. But should I win, the next War of Expansion may be aimed at you, or at very least, at a sector of your nation.)

The United States of Alibakkar will stand down at this time; the war is over.
04-12-2003, 23:59
The Kaiser has stood to make a final address on the War for Galahad.

"Friends and countrymen. Today an envelope arrived in my mailbox. Its message was short, and sweet. Alibakkar has pulled back from this war, and shall offer no more resistance. The colony of Galahad is now ours...and shall remain with us. The Wars of Expansion will continue, and we shall continue to prevail. As of today, the new armies and fleets planned at striking Galahad are being rerouted, are current forces in full control of the situation. They are now being redirected to the invasion of..."

ooc: I'm not sure how to respond yet since nobody paid any attention to my post where I was attacking enemy submarines; and since Alibakkar has left the war and TDP is gone until further notice, I don't really have much to do except provide naval protection because I haven't landed on the beaches.

The fleets of H3 assembled around the island finally began to depart toward mainland harbor in Unreal Soldiers. Sensing no activity anywhere on Galahad or its sister islands, the area was declared a null priority. All troops and supplies were withdrew from the area by April 11th, 2076. These forces would become the backup protection for the launch of Project UNICRON later next month.
