Cold Fusion!

05-11-2003, 04:31
Earlier this morning, the brilliant minds of Machina University made a unbelievable discovery. Chemists have discovered the secret of cold fusion. In essence, free energy!

Dr. Jennifer Irenicus said that this discovery is earth shaking for the people of Ernestgrad. "You could drive a car one million miles on a gallon of heavy water!" Dr. Irenicus exclaimed.

The Minister Of Energy says that the doctor's view will not be possible for quite some time. "Most of the nation lives on uranium mining, it's actually our largest industry."

As for now, the cold fusion reactors will be used for government purposes. As well of military units, government facilities are trying to slowly convert to this new form of power.

Although the potentials of this technology is great, the nation is suffering. Experts know that it will be quite some time before a matinence man will be making repairs on your machine.

Congradulations.

yay... but I'm modern tech, ignored.

A November nation with cold fusion? I think not.

I recomend waiting on even having nuclear power, let alone fusion?!

My only question is, does it come with the crack I need to smoke to believe you?

(OOC:In the words of Homestar Runner, delteated?

1. I haven't even sent up one space probe, I probably won't for a while.

2. The Confederacy of Sara Mar just brought in a new rocket proplusion system. Yet no outburst. Show me some.

3. It clearly states that I can not impletement the technology for quite some time.)

Unless you just want to play future tech, where cold fusion is commonplace.

((ooc: While personally I believe in cold fusion, I don't think it will be taken to kindly in nationstates. Having unlimited energy as a modern or postmodern(and Raysia, 200ft nuke railguns are postmodern) nation is too far of a jump to be made, even if it happened in real life, to be acceptable. Unless you somehow use the honor system of balancing a technology, more people will probably ignore you. Add some weaknesses, even if they defy physics, take my PFR system for example: it uses cold plasma (http://www.space.com/businesstechnology/technology/cold_plasma_000724.html) to reduce drag and therefore increase maximum speed. I roleplay it as being akin to a hyperdrive, where we are unable to engage in combat while using it, but use it for quicker out of combat movement. I only give it the side effect of absorbing lots of energy weapon damage because it makes sense, but even though it should also therefore absorb radar, my version doesn't and is instead very unstealthy. Having unlimited power is inviting some bad RPing, unless you can find someone else with it....))

Sileetris scientists disagree with the findings of your own, and say that it must be a fluke, as odd as that may be, that defies quantum physics and is liable to disappear at any time.

Raysia Speaking: Personally, i don't think it's that inconceivable to have a 200 m long rail gun with 2010, even 2003 technology. I'm in 2010 btw ;) and rail guns exist in real life dude, its just magnets.

I'm Modern tech (2010), space fleets are cool!

Many people would disagree with a 200(metre??) long railgun at this moment in time, especially one that can pivot and fire nukes without crushing them with G forces, given the refinement level of railguns. 2010 is another story, a post-modern one. Stop claiming to be modern!(I'm honestly beginning to think you do so only to sell your stuff to modern nations.....)
