Because of the ties between the Pergatorian Empire to TGAK and his declaration of war Pergatoria is known as an enemy. Because of Virgil Devol's declaration of war we too declare war.

Two CF-12 (OOC: See other thread, second to last post) Battlecruisers hurtled through space locked with coordinates directed for Earth's outer atmosphere. A "Keyhole" ELINT-1 probe had recently documented a Kurleian Orion class cruiser in orbit, and as a first strike, the two cruisers were intended to seize control of the ship.

Roughly an hour passed before the two cruisers came out of their initial warp jump from Umoja to Earth. As real space divided intself from the blur of a wormhole jump, an Orion battlecruiser filled the bridge viewscreens.

Both fleets of CF/A-17 fighters on each ship were ready for deployment, and in a matter of seconds, several hundred "Spectres" were flying through flak and debree at the Orion.

Losses: Pending. Waiting for Kurlej's response to attack units

2 "Piledriver" carriers (Iron Fist and Conqueror)

The four 4 Mjolnir Remote Beam Cannons fire on the cruisers to prevent the fighters from refueling. The Trident tries to fire on the nimble strikecraft barely touching any. Then the calvary comes. 1 Volition class Pirate Ship fire on the nimble craft with their flak cannons. The Trident is heavily damaged by the craft.

The first of the two battlecruisers, Debilitator was torn up beyond recognition. The Mjolnir beam cannons shattered into the nuclear fission core. As the core detonated in upon itself, it set off the EMP generator, debilitating several nearby "Spectres". The other battlecruiser, Blitzkrieg, had its wing torn off from the blast of a Mjolnir. It still remained hovering. After a few seconds, it began to slowly drop down towards Earth.

The debilitated spectres from the EMP explosion were hurtling through space and hampering the flight of their nearby fighters. Several fighters crashed and started a freefall course towards the Volition pirate ship that had entered. Most of them were lost against the outer hull of the ship. Several crashed, others were shredded by laser fire.

With the first loss to the opening of the war, the remaining "Spectres" began a retreat towards Pergatorian's Earthen outpost. 2 battlecruisers had been lost in the tragic opening to the first battle, and innumerable numbers of docked fighters.

Losses: Debilitator, Blitzkrieg, 87 "Spectres" (from combat), undocumented numbers from crashing battlecruisers

With the recent victory President Kurlej does not wish to attack but closes all trade between all nations except Klonor (i think you know why :wink: ). The president wishes to tell this to Virgil Devol:

As you may see we fought honorably but did not send any fighters to destroy the spectres. You may think that we will attack but we will only attack after a devestating battle.

Virgil Devol paced up and down his office, reading the cocksure telegram delivered from President Kurlej a few minutes earlier. Each time he read it, he studied the analysis of the charts all over again. How could one EMP blast from a debilitated battlecruiser shatter entire fleets of fighters?

A knock came on Virgil's door as he paced back and forth. When he heard it, he jumped. "Come in," he said roughly.

Whitaker had come off of the Amerigo to speak with Virgil directly. As Whitaker entered, he winced at the strong scent of musk and vodka, and the emaciated and gaunt appearance of his leader.

"Sir, one of our probes recorded the whole firefight. It was the same ELINT that observed the cruiser in the first place. Throughout the time when we first spotted the cruiser and attacked, there were multiple signals carrying back and forth between Klonor, Kurlej, and our missile contractors, the African Commonwealth. Kurlej has started a massive influx of weapons, sir.

While we can't say much for his present ally, Crimson Blades, we can be assure that in a matter of days, any space invasion will be virtually impossible.

While we have the opportunity, sir, we should get those regimentss scheduled to leave 10 days from now out sooner. We don't know how long it will be before Kurlej's borders are impenetrable, and we need to strike while they're still vulnerable. I send a message to General Oswald on the ground. He's mobilized 2nd infantry and 1st armored on the ground for an assault on Kurlej's Eastern border. He's waiting for your orders to commence the move in."

Devol sat back in his chair and sipped some vodka out of a glass. He lowered his eyelids and looked almost half asleep in his arm chair and reviewed the options. Pergatorio was nowheres near ready to ship off from Umoja. Preparations would take several more days, but if they waited, a lockdown might be instituted inside Kurlej.

"Whitaker. You can tell General Oswald he has all my support. See to it that those troops reach Kurlein borders. As for the men at Umoja, I'm willing to give them a wait and postpone a full-scale offensive just yet. Keep them until their scheduled departure. 10 days."

"So should I tell this to Gen. Tom Axe Jr.?"
"Yes go."
"Also, tell the Defense Department to add AA guns in all the cities."
"Yes Sir!"
