A jump node from the Pleiades Cluster opened, and the Olympia entered the Sol system.
Commander Vega watched the veiw screen. "Where did those readings come from?" He asked.
The sciance offecer checked his readings. "According to this, It should be about 500,000 Kilometers from here."
"Send a wing of fighters, I want to know what this is" Ordered Vega.

Several moments later, 3 Oblisk fighters exited the Olympia. Who knew what the anomalie was......

"This is the GDC Orff on approach to the station. We have just completed our patrol and have spotted no unusualy activity. Preparing to dock."

"Sir, we're getting some anomolous readings."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes, sir. Very odd. Take a look."

"Ah, hell. We were almost off duty. Send a wing of fighters to go investigate. And make it snappy!"

A wing of 4 Valkyrie Interceptors swoop away from the ship to go invesitagate the new occurance.

A nebulus object sat in front of the fighters.
Alpha 1 fired at it, see how it responded.

An Atlantian Capital ship, Destroyer, was suddenly hit by a Orcalic laser.
"Who dares fire on us?" Demanded the Commander.
"Probably just some reble resistence in this system" said the tactical offecer. "The Terrans never compleatly accepted us as their leaders"

"Yes, sir. Attention unknown fighters, this is a Klonor Patrol. Please state the nature of your business."

Aboard the Scimitar class vessel Robespierre, Johnathan Derik commanding...

"Sir, we're getting some very strange readings from an anomaly in the system...I'm reading other ships in the area, they may be investigating it."

"Can we get an ID on the ships, Lieutenant?"

"Looks like Klonor make and...well, the others are some strange obelisk looking things, Sir."

"That'd be Atlantian then."

"Oh, yes Sir! Sorry, Sir."

"Bring us closer to the anomaly and hail the other ships in the sector."

"Aye, Sir. Channels open."

"This is Commander Johnathan Derik of the Guanyu Aerospace Navy, in command of the GANS Robespierre. We are investigating a strange anomaly in the system and I assume you are doing the same. Perhaps we could pool our resources in the attempt to identify this...well, whatever it is."

"Sir, one of the Atlantian ships appears to be firing on the anomaly!"

"Calm down Lieutenant, they are probably just testing its reactions. We'll wait for a response to our hails."

The Atlantian fighters doged the blasts of energy from the Destroyer

OOC: let me make sure I have this straight, Atlantian ships in the present are shooting at the anomoly, the shots are being transported into the past and are hitting an Atlantian ship way back when. The ship in the past are shooting back, and it's hitting us. Did I get that right? (It's late, and my mind isn't moving that fast)

IC:

The barrage of fire that lances out of the anomoly strikes the lead fighter an the left pylon, rupturing the conatinment field and detonating the ship.

"JESUS CHRIST! WHAT THE **** IS GOING ON?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?"

"Orff, this is Flight officer Senders, Lieutenant Ash is dead! He has taken fire and his ship has been destroyed!"

"This is Captain Hondis, get the hell out of there, now! We'll move in the Orff to figure this thing out."

The fighters speed away, making way for the more heavily armored, and armed, ship to move in.

"Sir, sensors indicate that the Atlantian ships are firing on the Klonor ships!"

"What?! Have there been any aggressive moves by the Klonor force?"

"Not that we can determine, Sir."

"I'm calling in the Rousseau and the Demosthenes for backup. We won't get involved until we know what's going on, but if the Klonor vessels are being attacked without provocation, we will intervene. Prep the ship for battle."

"Yes Sir! The Rousseau and Demosthenes are on their way, and I'm calling full ready status for all crew members!"

OOC: Rousseau and Demosthenes are both Scimitars like the Robespierre. I'm not quite sure that I interpreted the posts correctly so I left a little wiggle room.

:Communication to Klonor Vessel:

"Klonor ship this is the GANS Robespierre. Our sensors show that your ships are being fired upon. Do you require assistance?"

"I have no ****ing clue what the hell is going on. This anomoly has our people stumped. Please wait for further analysis."

"Our sensors indicate some sort of temporal distortion. We will remain in-system in case you require our help, but will not go any nearer to that anomaly than we must. I have the safety of my crew to consider."

The Destroyer flew through the rift into our universe. They fire on the Atlantian fighters, who also retreat.

"60 decks high, 8 Kilometers long, 55 Orcalic lasers, and 33 Plasma Cannons. This thing is massive"

Due to the Destroyer crossing into our timeline, the rift had grown even more unstable, and opening even more timelines....

"Jesus Christ! Look at that thing!"

"I see it! All fighters, return to the Orff! We're getting the hell out of here! We'll return with more firepower."

As the Klonor cruiser turs around to high-tail it out of the system a new ship emerges out of the anomoly, it's Flux Cannons already chargin up.

"Shit! It's the Lucifer (see the FreeSpace games for details)! This is the GDC Orff to all ships in system, recommend immediete evcauation! Now damnit!"

"Holy-That thing is nearly the size of an Annihilator!"

"Not only that Commander, we're getting more sensor readings from the anomaly. Looks like it's beginning to collapse!"

"Dammit! Signal the Rousseau and the Demosthenes. Tell them to hold position outside the system and await further orders."

more and more ships began to appear. Small and large. Timelines where the Shivens ruled all. Some where Atlantians did. Others where a certian "United Federation of Planets" had been established. Another where the Zoir where still a large empire. Another from a place where none of the races of our universe existed. One from a Terran Paridise. One from a Borg universe. Another from a demon universe. A Nazi universe. And one where I had Chocolet Cake on my 15th Birthday.

The Ulysses fighters speed back aboard the Fenris cruiser, and just in time. With barely a glace backward the Orff hurtles forward on a blind Sub-Space jump, the terror of the Lucifer overriding all normal precautions.

Meanwhile, at the Gamma Draconis base, General Salm, supreme commander of the Klonor Fleet, receivees a static filled and alarming message.

"This is Communications Officer Gresnit on the GDC Orff. We are damaged and unable to move under our own power. Estimated time before life support failure, 3 hours. We're not gonna survive. However, that's not the point of this message. There seems to be some sort of disturbance in the Sol system, a temporal rift or something. The SHivans have broken through. Repeat, THE SHIVANS ARE HERE. Recommend immediete quarantine of the Sol system, and may God have Mercy on us."

A brief conference with the officers of the station.

"Well, any ideas?"

"There's no way in hell we can win this fight. We still have no way of penetrating the Lucifers shields."

"I know, but we can't just let everybody in Sol die."

"Maybe an evac? Shuttle everybody to Tau Ceti"

"Are you insane? That's over ?????? billion people. We don't have the capacity."

"Maybe the Colossus......"

"Already thought of it. Even with its firepower, the Lucifer is still impenetrable. It'll suck up the Beams and then just blow a hole in the Colossus so big an Orion could fly through it."

"What if we manage to shut down whatever's causing this. Close the temporal rift."

"That just might work. Anything we have that can do it?"

"Do it? We don't even know what it is."

"Dispatch a Faustus, give it a two leviathan escort. Study the rift, avoid the Shivans, and tell us what we need to do."

"Lieutenant, just what in the HELL are those?"

"Unknown sir, some of them are familiar configurations, but most-" the lieutenant shrugged.

"We have to get back to base. I need to make a full report to Fleet Command and something of this magnitude requires it to be in person. Signal the Rousseau and the Demosthenes and tell them to patrol the edge of the system and attempt to keep civilians out. Also send a request for additional Scimitars to assist. Hell, get us an Annihilator or two if you can swing it!"

"And if military forces from other nations come to investigate?"

"We assume they are friendly until they indicate otherwise and render all assistance possible."

"But sir, what if they AREN'T friendly?"

"Remember the first article of the GAN Code, Lieutenant: Guanyan ships never fire first-"

"But they always fire last. Yes sir."

OOC: Klonor, would you like the Robespierre to encounter the Orff on the way out of the system?

The Zoir detecting Zoir signals and a massive Space time disturbince sent three scout ships to invesgate.

Aboard the GANS Demosthenes, Captain David Montel commanding:

"Captain, there are three ships entering the system. Identified as Klonor vessels, one Faustus science vessel with two Leviathans for escort."

"Hail the Klonor ships, Ensign."

"Channel open, sir."

"Attention Klonor vessels, this is the GANS Demosthenes. I assume that you are here to investigate the anomaly. I must warn you that the situation in-system has intensified. The ships inside are not trying to get out, they seem content to attempt to destroy each other. There's one hell of a firefight going on in there. If you are intent on entering the system regardless, I have one other Scimitar-Class Warship nearby. Perhaps an addition to your escort might be helpful?"

"We appreciate the offer, but if the reports we've gotten are accurate it wont matter how many escorts we have. You're welcome to come with us, but if there's any sign that we've been spotted we're gonna high-tail it right out of this system."

With that, the Leviathans spread out to accomodate the new Guanyu ship that'll be joining them.

"Helm, move us toward the anomoly, sensors on max. Let's see what we can find out."

A lone Vzxlackian Scout Ship holding a crew of twenty insectoid creatures dropped out of hyperspace upon detecting a rift in the time-space continuum near an uncharted star system. Curious of the situation, the Commander of the ship took it upon itself to order a full investigation of the anomaly.

The ship returned to hyperspace and sped toward the anomaly where it would soon find a mass gathering of ships, some fiering upon others, and some retreating from the location. With interest, well out of harm's way, the Vzxlackians began monitoring the fluctuations created by the space rift, studying it as if it was just another simple interstellar marvel.

As the Demosthenes moves into position, the Rosseau appears (having been called by the Demosthenes) and moves into formation as well.

Communication from Demosthenes to the Faustus:
"We don't expect to actually be able to fight off any attackers, but that isn't the purpose of my offer. Your mission is vital to the safety of both of our peoples. If you are attacked we may be able to buy you enough time to escape with any information you gather. The Demosthenes and Rousseau are ready to move into the system on your order."

With a final red flash the Lucifer's starboard Flux Cannon powers down and the ships' fighters reboard. Flanked by a pair of Cain cruisers and escorted by two Demon destroyers it sets up an orbit around Jupiter, claiming the largest planet for its own and clearly victorious over the rest of the ships in the Jupiter area.

"We have reports that the Shivans are maintiaing orbit in the Jupiter area, the Atlantians have claimed Venus and Mercury, and Mars is being heavily contested. Recommend we approach near Saturn, it seems relatively clear and should let us have an open path towards the Anomoly. I want the Leviathans off to the starboard and the port. Guanyu, if you could have your ships above and below, we could insure that we aren't caught unaware by any stragglers."

"Roger that. Complying."

The Guanyan ships take up their assigned positions...

The Vzxlackian Scout Ship continued its examination of the space rift, puzzling out its source. While the anomaly was studied, the nearby system was charted and added to the galactic archives. Nine planets... four of which were gas giants.

Nearby transmissions were monitored as well. Apparently the largest of the gas giants, "Jupiter," was seized by a hostile lifeform called the "Shivans," and several of the rocky planets closest the star in orbit were seized by another hostile, the "Atlantians." Little did the Vzxlackians care about the political conflicts, however. Their primary concern was to investigate the spacial anomaly.

IC: As for the Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune area, the Zoir had compleatly overran. The ships from the Federation had been destroyed, and the Kuper Belt was owned by the Borg.

The Zoir where in the proccess of destroying one of Uranus's moons, as a warning that they ment buisness. The Borg waited silently, slowly building up their forces

The Olympia entered orbit around Cirrus, the Atlantian home planet in this universe.

Once enough data from the anomaly was collected, the Vzxlackian Scout Ship decided more investigation of the nearby "Sol" system was needed. Activating its cloaking device, the small, twenty-manned vessel swooped past the last planet in orbit, "Pluto," and conducted a detailed analysis of the tiny world and its moon, "Charon." Finding little of interest on the diminutive world, the ship moved on to next planet in line, "Neptune."

The Faustus slowly inches towards Saturn, seeming to hide behind the accompanying ships. Using the latest in sensor dampening technology they attempt to sneak past the Zoir ships, hoping to make a quiet first sweep of the system before moving inwards.

Unfortunately, the latest technology rarely works properly.

"Sir, we have a vessel moving towards us! It seems ready for attack!"

"Alert the Leviathans, and send a message to our partners. Let's try to knock it out quick, before it gets a message out.!"

"Sir, there is a ship diverting from its course and moving to intercept our flight group!"

"Damn! Lock weapons on that ship, Lieutenant. Stand by to fire on the Klonor ships' order. If they decide to get out of here we buy them time to get out of the system. Got it?"

"Yes sir, weapons ready. The gunners await the command to fire."

"Sir, we have orders from the Klonor Faustus. We are to attempt to take out the enemy ship before it can get off a communication."

"Just what I was waiting for. Fire!"

On the order, the gunners aboard the two Scimitars begin firing. Four Hellfire beams lance out at the incoming vessel, blasting into its bow. Six Heavy Beam Cannons rake at the ship's flank. Twenty-four Tri-Particle Cannons and forty Phased Assault Cannons fire repeatedly at the ship in an attempt to destroy it utterly.

Orbiting the world of what the locals called "Neptune," the cloaked Vzxlackian Scout Ship continued its indepth study of the "Sol" system. The movement of the bluish clouds of gas were strictly monitored, the ship's systems mapping out the planet's weather patterns. Close to danger, the ship however was, keeping on strict alert on the conflicting vessels in the area. Any defense and evasion systems the ship had were readied.

It was difficult to catch a fly unawares.
