Did you have any specific armament needs for the attack choppers? We would recommend the Essendia Non-Lethal Attack Helicopter.

(ooc: Its stats are posted here http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=87820&highlight=
They said our nation could produce as many as we needed, but Im not sure if the contract allows us to sell them, so you may want to ask about their surplus first.)

The world renown EA-22 Multipurpose helicopter was first released quite a while ago (December 12 2002, have been resurrected since) and has provided sterling service to all branches of the Elias military and in over 7 versions. The helicopter was originally designed to fulfill requirements for a medium helicopter in a similar class to the UH-1 ‘Huey’. Although it has not been produced in as large a numbers as the EA-24 helicopter (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=40824) production facilities have been expanded recently to allow for export orders. This does not replace the EA-24 in fact the design itself is older but can be used in situations where larger helicopters are not needed or where they cannot be accommodated, for example aboard a frigate or similar ship where space is paramount.:

Features (All versions)

The rugged modular structure incorporates crashworthy and damage-tolerant features, including a four-blade main rotor, four blade tail rotor and main lift frame, which includes multiple primary and secondary load paths. The fuselage is mainly of aluminum-lithium construction. The aerodynamic rotor blades are constructed from carbon/glass with nomex honeycomb and rohacell foam. Active vibration control of the structural response uses a vibration-canceling technique.

The helicopter operates in temperatures ranging from -20 to +50 degrees C. An ice protection system allows operation in known icing conditions. An engine inlet particle separator system provides protection in sandy environments. The helicopter is equipped with retractable reverse-tricycle type landing gear. Shock absorbers are installed on each unit. The main wheels towards the forward section of the fuselage retract inward and upward into the fuselage. The single rear landing unit is twin wheeled and retracts forward into the tailboom. High flotation tyres and efficient landing gear permit operation from soft or rough terrain.

The cockpit is equipped with armoured crew seats able to withstand an impact velocity of 35ft per second. Dual flight controls are provided for the pilot and copilot, but the helicopter is capable of being flown by a single pilot. The electronic instrument system includes six high-definition, full-colour displays, together with a digital map mission display. All models have a forward looking Infrared system display and thermal imagers.

A cargo hook allows external loads to be carried. The maximum external payload is 2,750kg

EA-24 Advacned Cockpit, all versions

After years of being produced solely for the Elias military the Ministry of Defence Procurment and Export has approved the type for export sale. The design is not revolutionary but is based on the well proven, reliable and devasatingly powerful KA-50 airframe that has been modified and upgraded by the Elias Aerospace Corporation to make it even more capable.

EA-26 Combat Helicopter

Airframe

The airfrmae is based on the KA-50 Design
The coaxial rotor design provides a hovering ceiling of 12,400ft and vertical rate of climb of 12m/s at an altitude of 5,000ft. The rotor blades are made from polymer materials. The coaxial-rotor configuration results in moments of inertia values relative to vertical and lateral axes being between 1.5 to 2 times less than the values found in single rotor helicopters with tailrotors. Absence of the tail rotor enables the helicopter to perform flat turns within the entire flight speed range. A maximum vertical g-load of 3.5 combined with low moments of inertia give the Ka-50 a high level of agility.

Extensive all-round armour installed in the cockpit protects the pilot against 12.7mm armour piercing bullets and 25mm projectile fragments. The rotor blades are rated to withstand several hits of ground-based automatic weapons.

The EA-26 one of the world's first operational helicopter with a rescue ejection system, which allows pilot to escape at all altitudes and speeds.

Weapons

Numerous weapons options for the helicopter are carried on external wing stores with different combination of anti-tank missiles, rockets, air-to-air missiles. From the point of view of the weapons power is superior to all existing combat helicopters.

Avionics

The on-board multifunctional avionics suite ensures round-the-clock helicopter piloting, navigational and combat tasks in anytime of the year. The avionics suite is comprised of a multiplexed, multi-level digital computer-based system having large storage capacity and high speed. Observation, search and targeting systems comprising head-mounted display are used for round-the-clock and all-weather detection of specified targets and their attack using optical, TV, laser, IR and radar equipment.

EA-26 is fitted with s radar warning receiver, electronic warfare system and chaff and flare dispenser as standard

United Elias:
Can i convert the EA-22C to the EA-22D in under one hour? if you make a helicopter like that, then i will pay good money for it. I need it to seat 10 at least with full gear for spec ops personnel. it needs to be a gunsip if converted, preferably similar to the AH-1 Cobra in gunship role, but a Bell UH-1 Huey in the transport role.
edit: let me check out other types first

The Bisonic Defense Initiatives Agency (BDIA) has annonced the development of a deep modernizaiton of the Mi-24 known as the Mi-35M. In addition to swallowing point bank hits from 37mm AA guns (OOC: the Mi-24 did that), the Mi-35M is capable of carrying bombs, rocket pods, ATGM's, and 8 troops. Alternately the firing ports can be usd by helicopter-borne machine gunners.

http://www.milparade.com/1999/33/0821.jpg
http://www.zap16.com/images/MI-35M.jpg
http://www.milparade.com/1999/33/0823.jpg

Such attention is given worldwide to the modernization of flying machines since it enables the developers to obtain their updated characteristics at minimum financial costs. The first qualification flight of the Mi-35M helicopter has been made at the Mil Helicopter Plant's flight-test base near Belgorod under the state-run test program.

Today, about 1,000 helicopters, developed on the basis of the Mi-24, are in service with the Bisonic army aviation.

Modernization of the Mi-35 machine is highly topical taking into account the remaining service life margin and technical condition of helicopters being in service with foreign countries, Dark Terror, as well as numerous inquiries from potential customers of modernized versions of the Mi-35 and its current users.

The main goals of modernization of the existing helicopters are the following:

- considerable prolongation of life cycle;

- improvement of performance characteristics;

- enhancement of combat effectiveness;

- provision for day-and-night combat employment;

- increase of maintainability.

These goals can be attained through the use of a number of modernization packages:

1. Prolongation of a calendar and estimated service life of the airframe, system units and equipment.

2. Decrease in empty weight of the helicopter and increase in the reliability and invulnerability of its systems to combat damage owing to retrofitting of its fuselage and mechanical systems.

3. Increase in the combat effectiveness of the armament system, which involves an introduction of the following weapons into armament suit:

- Ataka and Ataka-M antitank guided missiles of increased effectiveness;

- unguided aircraft rockets.

4. Ensuring of day-and-night employment of the helicopter by providing the crew with the night-vision goggles and adaptation of the cabin illumination, while providing the helicopter with a surveillance and fire-control station.

5. Modernization of the helicopter rotor system, increase of its aerodynamic effectiveness and decrease of its weight by using the main and tail rotors developed for the Mi-28 helicopter. This leads to a decrease of its weight by 300 kg and an increase of the main rotor effective thrust by 300 kgf.

6. The further increase in the combat effectiveness of the armament system and equipping the helicopter with the new communications facilities:

- introduction of the Igla-V air-to-air heat-homing missile system;

- replacement of obsolete analog computers by a heliborne unified BVK-24 computer system capable of solving air navigation problems;

- replacement of obsolete radio communications equipment.

7. Provision for day-and-night combat employment of all heliborne weapons via replacement of the Raduga-Sh day-vision guidance device by the gyro-stabilized surveillance and fire-control station. With due account for variations in customer requirements, the Rostvertol offers several modernization variants.

One of the most promising variants involves the modernization to be performed during the helicopter major repair. This variant covers the following four modernization packages:

1. Modernization of the airframe, including:

- installation of nonretractable landing gear that ensures saving in weight and increases the low-altitude flight safety and a crew protection degree in emergency landing;

- retrofitting of the wing to decrease its weight, installation of launching frames with an increased ammunition load, and an increase in technological effectiveness of loading the helicopter with ammunition.

2. Modernization of the armament system:

- provision for employment of S-13 rockets in the 130mm rocket pod (B-13L1);

- equipping the helicopter with the Shturm-VM (9K113M) guided missile system.

3. Modernization of the helicopter rotor system and dismantling of the secondary hydraulic system that leads to savings in weight, enhancement of airfield performance, and an increase in invulnerability of the helicopter to combat damage.

4. Equipping the helicopter with night vision systems:

- NVIS-compatible illumination of instrument equipment in the crew cabins and adaptation of lighting equipment for night vision goggles to ensure safe takeoff/landing at night and under limited-visibility conditions and flying of the helicopter at extremely low altitudes near the ground surface at night and under limited-visibility conditions at low flight speeds;

- installation of the surveillance and fire-control station furnished with infrared, TV and laser channels to ensure target detection and identification at long ranges at night; leading out of the helicopter onto a target and a combat run at night and under limited-visibility conditions; employment of unguided rockets at night and under limited-visibility conditions; performing search operations and ground surveillance at night and under limited-visibility conditions, as well as in the daytime under conditions of artificial or natural shadowing of objects.

A Mi-35M costs $12.5 mil, $10 mil for TGP or NCA members. COnversion from Mi-24 costs $3 mil.

http://mig.lathwood.co.uk/upload/v/vpbk26.jpg KL-55 "Sabre" is a new generation combat helicopter is intended to perform combat missions round-the- clock in VFR and IFR conditions both autonomously (without target designation means) and in group (with autonomous target designation and distribution).

KL-55 "Sabre" is capable to engage:

ground targets without including armoured ones;
sheltered and unsheltered manpower;
various aerial targets.
Submarines
naval vessels.

KL-55 "Sabre" ensures:

low-level and extreme low-level terrain-following flights autonomously with the use of radar and thermal imaging system;
the use of armament systems providing destruction of various targets and performing fire in no target direct visibility conditions;
second crew member flight control, including training;
target determination and transfer of data to receiving posts and other helicopters;
built-in check and on-condition maintenance.

Due to its high power-to-weight ratio it can be operated in various areas including high lands and areas with high ambient temperatures. KL-55 "Sabre" can fly vertical accelerated manoeuvres from 0 ... 2.6 g-load, sideslip, fly backwards up to 100 km/h. It can perform manoeuvres, such as loop and pushover manoeuvres, etc.

The features enhancing combat survivability include:

shielding of vital components by less important ones;
main and tail rotors blades are made of super-strong composites free from secondary destruction effect;
duplicated hydraulic and control systems;
engine separation;

The mission of this helicopter is to detect, track and destroy submerged submarines at a depth of 500m+ and running at speeds up to 80km/h at any time of year and in all weather conditions. The KL-55N has both day and night operations capability. The helicopter can operate in conditions up to sea state 5.

It can detect Low-flying aircraft, helicopters and cruise missiles. The helicopter could also be used to relay reconnaissance information from other helicopters or unmanned air vehicles to a ground station, and to transmit targeting information to attack helicopters.
include navigational equipment for digital terrain maps, ground-proximity warning, obstacle approach systems and information concerning the helicopter's tactical situation.
The core of the on-board avionics suite is powerful solid-state radar. The radio-electronic package automatically controls the helicopter flight over the specified route in any weather and climatic conditions. When the radio- electronic package is on, the antenna is extended and the navigator has elected the operational mode, all further operations are performed automatically without operator interference. The navigator role is simply to control the systems operation and to duplicate target observation on the display screen.the display screen.

WEAPON SYSTEMS

The helicopter is armed with 4 homing torpedos, 4 torpedo rocket, 14 PLAB 250-120 bombs and 3 OMAB bombs. It is fitted with a heated torpedo bay, ensuring the reliability of weapons in low-temperature weather conditions

The EA-32 Light Attack/Anti-Tank helicopter is a lightweight combat helicopter that was designed to provide support to ground troops, special forces and is the Air Force’s next generation armed reconnaissance helicopter. It also is the first helicopter developed specifically for this role. The EA-30 will provide a weapon system of unsurpassed war fighting capabilities crucial to the Army's future strategic vision. The EA-32 is intended to replace the current fleet of EA-22D and Ka-60 helicopters in all air assault roles and light division attack helicopter battalions, and supplement the EA-26 in heavy division/corps attack helicopter battalions. A variant of the EA-30 will also be used by Navy aviation and will be the first attack helicopter to be embarked on assault ships, it is ideally suited ot this role because of its small size and fantail.

While the EA-32 lacks the impressive payload of larger attack helicopters it makes up for this in agility, minimum observability and performance. Also the EA-32 is approximately 50% cheaper to purchase than larger equivalents while being 20-30% cheaper to operate and maintain.

Features

Composite Materials (Zvarinograd) The EA-32 features the Zvarinograd AZ-CMT III Null-Radar Composite armor

AZ-CMT III
- Radar-Adsorbent Materials
- Characterization of Advanced Organic Fibers
- Stress Wave Prediction and Management in Functionally Graded Materials
- Friction Effects on Fabric Structures
- Application of Genetic Algorithms to Composite Analysis and Design
- Carbides as Hard Coating Materials for Polymers, Metals and Ceramics
- Composite Damage Mechanisms
- Armor Model Mechanisms
- Easy Repair of Hybrid Composite Structures
- Photonic Bandgap Materials for Controlled Emissivity Surfaces
- Frequency-Dependent Damping Characteristics of Composites
- Hybrid Materials
- Flexible Polymeric Light-Emitting Diodes*
- Nanoparticulate Composite Liquid Shear-Thickening

*For use when the vehicle is disabled, the armor becomes a rescue beacon

Noise suppression: The EA-32 only radiates one-half the rotor noise of current helicopters. Noise is reduced by use of a four-bladed rotor, pioneered by the successful EA-28 series of light utility helicopters. The fantail eliminates interaction between main rotor and tail rotor wakes. The advanced rotor design permits operation at low speed, allowing the EA-32 to sneak 40% closer to a target than an AH-64 Apache, without being detected by an acoustical system.

Infrared (IR) suppression: The EA-32 only radiates 25% of the engine heat of current helicopters, a critical survivability design concern in a low-flying tactical scout helicopter. The EA-32 is the first helicopter in which the infrared (IR) suppression system is integrated into the airframe. This innovative design feature provides IR suppressors that are built into the tail-boom, providing ample length for complete and efficient mixing of engine exhaust and cooling air flowing through inlets above the tail. The mixed exhaust is discharged through slots built into an inverted shelf on the sides of the tail-boom. The gases are cooled so thoroughly that a heat-seeking missile cannot find and lock-on to the EA-32.

Crew Protection: The EA-32 features a crew compartment sealed for protection against chemical or biological threats, an airframe resilient against ballistic damage, enhanced crash-worthiness, and reduced susceptibility to electromagnetic interference. Extensive all-round armour installed in the cockpit protects the pilot against 12.7mm armour piercing bullets and 23mm projectile fragments. The rotor blades are rated to withstand several hits of ground-based automatic weapons. The EA-32 as with the EA-26 features a Rocket Assisted Ejection System which allows the crew to escape at all altitudes and speeds.

Maintainability: The EA-32 is easily sustained, requires fewer personnel and support equipment, and will provide a decisive battlefield capability in day, night and adverse weather operations. EA-32 has been designed to be exceptionally maintainable and easily transportable. Through its keel-beam construction, numerous access panels, easily accessible line-replaceable units/modules and advanced diagnostics, the EA-32 possesses "designed-in" maintainability. EA-32 aircraft will be able to be rapidly loaded into or unloaded from most transport aircraft.

Sensors and avionics: In the reconnaissance role, the EA-32will be equipped with a new generation of passive sensors and a fully integrated suite of displays and communications. The Comanche will be equipped with the Apache Longbow fire control radar and the Helmet Integrated Display and Sight System (HIDSS). The fully integrated avionics system will allow tactical data to be overlaid onto a digital map, allowing the crew to devote more time for target detection and classification. A triple-redundant fly-by-wire system can automatically hold the helicopter in hover or in almost any other maneuver, reducing workload, allowing the pilot to concentrate on navigation and threat avoidance. A hand-on grip permits one-handed operation.

Armament: The EA-32 has two stub wings on either side if the fuselage each with two under wing hardpoints and a wingtip hardpoint for short range AAMs. The inner wing harpoon can each accommodate either 4 Hellfire/TOW/similar ATGMs, or two free flight rocket pods. The outer hardpoint can each accommodate either 2 Hellfire/TOW/similar ATGMs, or a single free flight rocket pod. The wingtip hardpoints can each mount a single IR anti-air missile such as Igla/Stinger/Strela or similar type.
If the mission requires it a three barreled 20mm cannon turret (same as fitted on RAH-66) can be mounted undernose although it increases RCS. Up to 480 rounds can be carried. Attaching the turret can be completed in theater and takes approximately 90 minutes.
