toady Powerfularmies is happy to announce the revelation of a new airship. highly advanced it is armed with 2 missile launchers and 2 high-power lasers. it will be used to defend my shores, and those's of my allies, from attacks.

it is over 250 meters long, and can go to altitudes approaching 60,000 feet.
all armanment is internal, only coming out for inspection, firing, or testing. IT IS NOT FOR SALE.
an estimated 15 such vessels will be used and, unless under overwhelming attack, should be enough to cover my shores. luckily if their is an overwhelming attack we have many, many, MANY, backups.
I'm curious:
What gas are you using?
Why did you choose to use an airship? They are inherently slower and less maneuverable than conventional heavier than air aircraft.
airships are more capable of staying over one place, easier to get a lock on incoming fire. the gas is nuclear propulsion, like everything I use. it has enough energy to have a little sleeping area and room accomodations. prized position among the military.

wouldnt it be very easy to shoot down though? i mean its just there so you just fire a few missiles at it and KABOOM!!!!

yeah you would need guns to shoot down planes and incoming missiles but apart from that it seems good :D
read it. "all armanments are internal" their are: 2 automatic missile launchers *best we have...very nice indead* and 2 high powered lasers. that's enough to fight off at least 7 attacks *didn't go over that in trials* and we're building 15. so they can support eachother.

In other news, the Government of Skager today announced a new military project. It is said to be a very large gun which apparently fires an enormous needle. The government is said to be building 120 of these. They will by all appearances be fired by huge elastic bands.

Its a joke. Let me show you. I hold in my hand a ballon, painted as your new derigable. In my other hand is a small elastic band gun, loaded with a needle. When the needle hits the ballon, it pops. Kapesh? :roll:

heck, at that altitude a laser would be good for point defence.
agreed, that's why I put both systems on. it's at the discretion of the commander.
