Today in the main port of Lapse a huge ceremony was in place. The Naval Authorities were launching the pride of the fleet, the brand new Catfish Skirmish II class ship, the BRS Bristilian Venegance. She was a modified Skirmish II class, the fastest and most heavily armed. She had nearly another thrid of the fire power of a regular Catfish Skirmish II class ship and was submersible an extra 300 metres.

The crew were the best trained and the best disciplined in the entire fleet. They had being stolen from all other ships at enourmous cost and were being put into commision in the Bristilian Venegance at award pay. The ship was to be put into service safeguarding the region, probably on patrol for slavers, drug runners and smugglers. The captain was young but wise and one of the most intelligent of the fleet. He had a quick mind and was able to solve any problem put before him.

At the dock there were nearing 2 thousand people, all families of the crew of the ship. There were honoured guests including The Commander of military in Lapse, the Fleet Admiral and the Leader of Lapse. After numerous speeches the ship was launched into the water with a big splash. the crew were standing by the rails waving at the cheering crowd and the band was playing the national anthem of Lapse, 'Flames of pride'.

After the Launch more speeches followed. The fleet admiral got up and started his speech
" It is with pride and achievement that today we commision our 400th Catfish Skirmish II class ship. The Bristilian Venegance is more than the average ship in our fleet though. She is the fastest and most heavily armed of her kind. She could take on any opponent without fear or hesitance. She is teh strongest ship of our fleet.
Captain Fetrin who will be commanding this marvellous vessel is one of Lapses finest, quick thinking and smart. There is no-one i would prefer to captain this ship.
The Bristilian venegance has being in production for a year now. the finest craftsmen in the field have worked on her and made this ship to perfection. The The bristilian venegance is named after the desire of our nation to get our revenge on nations who have defied us. as the name suggests in any wars we may have in future she will be in the front line.
Of course, with this new power under command we must also realise that we have new responsibility. We have one of the largest NAVYs in the world and we make teh enemy wet themselves. We can not exploit this power though, we only threaten our true enemies with the force of our NAVY, no-one more, no-one less."

The speech wrapped up in a crowd of applause. the admiral was truly one of the most respected people in the whole of Lapse for what he has done and we live on in the minds of all present.

The conclusion of the ceremony was approaching and the families were saying a last farewell. The Bristilian Venegance Was to be heading out to patrol for the next 3 months without shore stop. As the crew boarded the vessel, a crisis was started.

There was a large explosion in the crowd, and simultaneously one near the bridge of the Bristilian Venegance. The explosions were small, but they were startegically placed to do the most damage. The explosion in the crow was right in the centre of the mass and instantly killed around 200 cicilians. The explosion on the Venegance was located at the bridge and destroyed the conrols and all computer systems. Also causing a fuel leak as a result of a new crack along the hull of the Venegance.

People stared panicing, as the docks caught fire and many people were killed in the stampede of the humans. the crowd spilled out onto the road on the dockyards. When around half of the civilians had being evacuated out there was another explosion. This time it collapsed the brick wall surrounding the dockyards trapping the hundreds of people left.

Fire engines were called up but to no avail. there was no way for them to get close enough to the main fire to be of help. There efforts were also hapered by panicing civilians running around and getting in the way.

What had being a bright day in Lapse before had turned into a day of death and misery

The government thanks New Chelsea for their support in our time of need. The explosion caused a hole beyond repair in the hull of the Bristilian Venegance and has killed over 400 civilians.

The leader of Lapse reported that no-one in his government would rest until they found the terrorists responsible for these explosions.

They currently suspect the dockyard workers as the only non military personel allowed on the ship. And it has being confirmed that it was a make do explosive device smuggleed abord the ship somehow as were the other devices.

the government has started inquiries into the explosions and checking the backgrounds of all dockyard workers and listing any that may have a reason to do this

we currently have around 200 suspects plus the crew of the ship

BIO (Bristilian Intelligence Organisation) to day received a typed message in of a group claiming the explosion. The letter followed:

To the overrated un holy nation of Lapse,
We, the Krakunians send dark messages into the heart of your people. We have watched your unholy people go around their everyday lives oblivious to the over power, our mighty god: Kraken. We find it our responisbility to save these innocent victims of your religous resentment. As such we are prepared to go to any length to save them, even if it means killing some of them.

Now your probably thinking what the hell do they want and aout to throw this letter away, but now is the time you must listen to us. If you dont your whole government will crumble around you. Firstly, yesterday you saw the power of our organisation. We sunk one of your mighty Catfish ships. As well as this we killed around 400 people. These actions were merely a stunt for you to listen to us. We have much more destructive power should it be required.

We now have our requests:
1. The Krakunians religion becomes a government authority and as such we have power to exercise our beliefs freely
2. 2 billion dollars to build our chapels and advertise our existance
3. 4 hours a day in peak time on all TV channels where we can advertise our existance

Today in Lapse another tradgedy occured.

In peak hour traffic a large bomb was exploded. It brough down a 5 story apartment building crashing down upon the busy street below. Around 200 civilians have being killed by this senceless act of terror. The Lapsian Government renewed searches for the Krakunians in charge of these recent terrorist attacks on Lapsian soil.

The armed forces have being mobilised fearing an outbrake of of terror attacks and the subsequent drop of moral that would occur in the hypocritical states.


Mean while. A Krakunian supporter found running from the scene shortky following the blast has being brought in for interogation. It is hoped that the man will tell us the location of the headquarters of the 2 million strong terrorist organisation. The government has recieved no letters following the attack in the street.

The lapsian media are going crazy. They want blood as do the rest of the populace of Lapse. One thing is for sure, the terrorists responcible will be found and destroyed!
