Handschar requires Air Force!

30-10-2003, 04:45
The Chancellory of the Dominion of Handschar is currently seeking to create an air force.
We own several transport helicoptors and turboprop aircraft, but with varying operations over the globe we find ourselves in need of an up-to-date, capable air force. We are looking for the following types of aircraft:

Air Superiority -- An airplane capable of atleast mach 2 with moderate payload and robustness in combat, akin to the F-15.

Interdiction -- A smaller aircraft capable of either air superiority, though smaller, more maneuverable and cheaper to operate, or basic ground attack with rockets/AT missiles.

Fighter/Bomber -- Capable of carrying various armaments ranging from bunker-busting smartbombs to area munitions.

Ground Attack -- Capable of carrying various anti-armour, anti-building armaments, with good strength, survivability and flexibility.

Maritime Patrol/Attack -- Aircraft capable of carrying anti-shipping munitions and sophisticated sensors for anti-maritime duties.

Medium Bombers -- Capable of carrying 25,000lbs of mixed ordnance ranging from anti-ship, anti-armour, smart-bombs and free-fall payloads.

Heavy Bombers -- Capable of carrying smart munitions or free-fall munitions up to 60,000lbs payload.

Attack/Recon Helicoptor -- A lighter craft capable of carrying a variety of anti-armour munitions, with good speed and sensor capabilities.

Support Helicoptor -- A heavy aircraft capable of carrying a wide range of anti-armour and anti-bunker munitions.

We are also looking to aquire, in the near future, a stealth aircraft capable of both interdiction/air superiority and ground attack.

The CDH looks forward to reviewing potential products.

]

Description
The F-16E is a multi-role fighter that is very capable at both air superiority and ground attack roles. It is a major upgrade on the F-16C/D. It's avionics have been improved, allowing the F-16E to attack effectively beyond visual range. During development, major efforts were sought to keep down the cost of the final product.

Structure
The F-16E is based on the defunct XL that was the competitor to the F-15E strike eagle. The F-16XL airframe was selected based on manuevearbility and its low cost. The airframe differs to the F-16A/B/C/D with respects to the wing. A delta wing is used to reduce drag at supersonic levels. Costs have been kept low without adversely affecting performance. The airframe is mostly aluminium, with around a third made with composites to allow flexibility. The nose and body have also been strengthened for a carrier born derivative.

Powerplant
The F-16E uses ESAA's MX-7 turbofan which is capable of a cruising speed of up to Mach 1.8. VTOL capabilty can also be installed if desired. The F-16E uses the MX-7B to achieve VTOL without sacrificing performance. Thrust-vectoring allows the F-16E/F to achieve very tight turns.
http://invisionfree.com:54/93/157/upload/p918.jpg
Avionics
To save on costs, no new avionics were developed. Instead, ESAA used a 'helmet' system taken from the Mig-29. Wherever the pilot looks, the missile goes. Radar has also been improved. The standard radar on the F-16E is the AN/APG-77 Radar taken from the F-22. Rear facing radar can also be fitted under the fuselage.

Performance
The F-16E is comparable to the Su-27 in terms of dogfighting manueverability, with a 75% rate of success in our tests. However, the F-16E/F is superior to the Su-27 in terms of avionics. During the combat tests the F-16 destroyed 85% of all Su-27s in a long range AMRAAM shoot out, inferior only to the F-22 and the ESAA Millenium fighter.

Remiesia offers you the following aircraft to fill your Maratime Patrol/Attack slot:

 S-3B Viking ASW

The S-3B Viking is a multirole aircraft used by the US Navy. Its missions inlude antisubmarine warfare, electronic surveillence, mine warfare, and aerial refueling. Primarily it defends the carrier fleet from hostile submarines by searching for them and then destroying them.

Inside the fuselage, an impressive electronic package is dedicated to the collection and interperetation of acoustic signals - the Viking has a sonobouy dispenser located in the ventral part of the tail. It also houses an advanced ECM system, a GPS navigation computer, and a JTIDS electronic information-sharing computer. A retractable MAD boom, used for detecting the magnetic fields caused by submarine hulls, is stored in the tail. Most of it weapons are stored in an internal bay.

The Viking is noted for its use as an ASW aircraft but it also has anti-ship capabilities - it can carry several Harpoon missiles or conventional bombs. Its long range electro-optical/IR sensors make it a potent threat, regardless of weather, time of day, or target.

The F-27 Haste is an air-superiority fighter designed to counter/ replace the F/A-22 Raptor. It features a higher weapons capacity and top speed, although the IR signature is higher than the F-22, it is just as stealthy on radar. Foward swept outer wings, all-moving tailplanes and foward canards provide extreme control an maneverability. Also the thrust nozzles feature vectoring panels with ful up-down vector angles and partial left-right vector angle. The F-27 is also capable of super-cruise (mach 1.5 w/o engaging afterburners).

http://home.hpphoto.com/servlet/LinkPhoto?GUID=586a2dc3-6ebe-31e8-1ad6-22451950421a&size=
The FU-29K Scorpion, Lovingly referred to as the "Smart FUK" by its operators, is a remotely piloted fully-featured UCAV that has been designed for the air-to-air role. Based on the Grumman X-29, it is extremely manuverable and uses many advanced systems including all-moving canards,a four way thrust vectoring cowling mounted on the afterburner, wing warping "flapelirons" (uses wing-twisting instead of alierons)and a vortex air-flow control system in the nose allowing more controllable supersonic turns and up to a 45 degree angle of attack.
Also the airframe has been hardend to allow up to 15G turns and ACM(Aerial Combat Manuevers). Since there is no pilot onboard, turns over 9G, the current human limit, are possible giving this aircraft the distinct advantage over any human piloted aircraft. The aircraft also has in-flight re-fuel capabiltiy

http://home.hpphoto.com/servlet/LinkPhoto?GUID=3cb7610f-6bd2-4c77-3335-cee539de8ceb&size=
The F-31X, based on the X-31 Technology demonstrator is an extremely manevrable fighter, virtualy unsurpassed in agility. The F-31X uses a new 4 panel thrust vectoring actuator and the same wing-twisting technology as the FU-29K Scorpion. The F-31X Cyclone achieved controlled flight and controlled roll around it's velocity vector at a 70 degree angle of attack, All at supersonic speeds. It also uses a system called a Helmet Mounted Visual/Audio Display (HMVAD). The HMVAD provides out-of-the-cockpit situation awareness and a simulated helmet-mounted sight to the pilot during high angle of attack combat maneuvering (where a normal HUD would be useless) It does not feature any stealth technology, however the tailless version (tail easily can be de-tached, sacrificing stabilty only not maneverablity), has a radar cross-section that is significantly less than that of a simmilar sized plane, increasing the time before it would show up on radar.

Attack Aircraft
 F/A-117X NightHawk Stealth Fighter (Attack Bomber)
http://www.af.mil/news/airman/0100/f117a.jpg
The F-117A, while a great aircraft, is lacking in many ways, especialy araments. It can never live up to the F designation or its name of "Stealth Fighter". Or can it? The F/A-117X takes the normal F-117A, replaces the engines and upgrades the radar, firecontrol and targeting systems and weapons carrying capacity. With the new weapons capacity the F/A-117X has much improved air-to-air capability. Two ports on the side of the "fuselage" near the engine ports hold 2 defensive air-to air weapons (the M61 Vulcan and the AIM-9X Sidewinder). Also a 3 missile rotary launcher can be affixed to either of the 2 weapons bay, bringing the max # of missiles this aircraft can carry up to 7. These would be perfect to escort B-2s or to be used in concert with regular F-117As.
A phased array radar, new FLIR systems and uprated counter measures have also been added. The aircraft also has in-flight re-fuel capabilty and a less stealthy carrier version is availble for $70million

This is a great Light-Attack aircraft which is highly manevrable compared with other attack-aircraft. This comes in handy when trying to evade infared SAMs and other enemy aircraft. Also when configured in the Anti-helicopter role (8 stingers 2 sidewinders and external fuel tank) it can be quite efficent at destroying enemy helicopters. In an emergency it can be used as a fighter/interceptor to destroy incoming bombers or other attack aircraft. It is an excellent aircraft for Naval vessels because of its small size and the foldable wings.

http://home.hpphoto.com/servlet/LinkPhoto?GUID=2be7240f-2576-66e1-38c7-6cff480b27bc&size=
The A-36B Mustang, based on the venerable P-51 Mustang of World War II and the A-36A Apache of Vietnam, is the new answer to the attack helicopter. It can hold more HELLFIRES then an Apache, out-manuever a Hokum and it can destroy any main battle tank at a range of up to 25 miles away. When used in the close-air support role it has been designed for, killing tanks and supressing infantry groups, it will most likely encounter enemy attack choppers. This is where the A-36 shines. Its 4 Stinger missles, 2 sidewinders and heavy machine guns shred through any attack helicopter, and since this is a great dogfighter, helicopters have no chance in out maneuvering it. It is an all new semi-monocue titanium aircraft, following the airframe of the P-51. Kevlar bonded to boron-carbide plates form additional armor around the crew and engine compartments. These are not vintage P-51s they are brand new aircraft based on the old airframes. The engines are all new, as are avionics, targeting systems, radar, laser guidance systems and counter measures.

 AH-1A1 SuperCobra II
http://army.tom.com/img/assets/1/ia_20.jpg
The TPM version of the AH-1A1 is a improved version of the AH-1Z/AH-1A1 SuperSeaCobra. Some of the improvements include the addition of 6 hardpoints as opposed to the original 4 and 2 wingtip racks. Each of the 4 inner hard points can carry 1 large missle (like the harpoon or maverick ) or up to 8 smaller missiles (such as the Hellfire or stinger) the outer wing hard point can carry 1 hellfire or 7 hydra rockerts each, and the wingtip racks can hold 1 sidewinder or 2 stinger missiles. It is also much faster becasue of the rear ducted tail fan which provides extra speed. It is an excellent aircraft to base off of ships for supporting marine or special operations because of its small foot print and foldable rotor blades. While it is based on the AH-1Z (seen here)
http://www.army-technology.com/projects/supcobra/images/cobra10.jpg
it is much faster and can carry more weapons due to the uprated TPM engines and longer, sturdier wings. It also has a longer range and increased surviviabilty.

Confirmed and enjoy.

Handschar would also like to purchase:

10 x F-31X (OOC: OMG I love the X-31!!!!!): $310,000,000
20 x A-4X: $360,000,000
20 x AH-1A1: $240,000,000
(OOC: No offense to you (I like you, you have X-31!) but I will never buy a P-51 derivative. I hate the P-51. With passion. If I met one I would spit in it's eye. :P )

This year's purchases have forced the Handscharian Military Budget Senate to dig deep into it's pockets and regretfully we have done all our spending for this year. However we will be ready and waiting for your products next fiscal quarter (tomorrow!), and if all goes well the CDH may entertain the idea of pursuing several products for license-buying, on your terms, of course.

Thank you to all nations who have supported Handschar in it's decision to construct an air force.

In addition to Ell's F-16, I highly recommend Omz222's aircraft store thread. I've purchased almost all my aircraft from there. I forgot its official name, but he's the store owner. Good prices, too.
We thank you for your support, although OMASC is not really a storefront.

OOC - I know it's not really a storefront. I don't picture it like a giant pavement lot full of stationary fighter jets with big, red "RUNS GREAT - ON SALE CHEAP" stickers slapped all over them.

One of their finest fighter jets. If you're looking for good cheap aircraft that can compete with Su-37s and F-22s in maneuverability, look at the RF-9 on that page.
