Noticing the limited selections on many storefronts (The use of only Western or Eastern tech), Agrigento and East Islandia have decided to create a joint storefront that sells products on both sides of the spectrum; Aggy will handle Western and European tech, while i handle Russian and Asian tech.

We will divide our store into the following sections:
Small arms/infantry armor
Aeronautix
Electronic accessories
Naval equipment
Army weapons (armor, artillery)

NEW PRODUCT/SERVICE:
ARMORED HUMVEES

The American war in Iraq has proven that multipurpose vehicles, primarily Humvees and trucks, are vulnerable to insurgent attack, simply restating a principle that Islandian strategists have known for decades (we practice this sort of warfare).

Therefore, Erdana Combat Systems of has offered to fully refit any vehicles at three quarters of the regular price to Modern World nations (only the friendly ones).

Upgraded Humvees will contain:

-five ply bulletproof polycarbonate/transparent plexiglass windows
-air conditioning
-armored undersides, to be lined with fibersteel (spidersteel, carbon fiber, and kevlar plating).
-Kevlar/Spidersteel plates to be bolted onto doors
-fibersteel roof with turret accessories

Cost $100,000 USD per vehicle (excluding engine upgrade and air conditioning)

Fully Armored Humvees, unlike the American fully armored versions, only increase the vehicle's weight by about 500 kilograms (American HMMVWs are increased by about 1000kg, or roughly 2000 lbs). Fully Armored HMMVWs will contain:
-three layers of Spidersteel/Kevlar plating bolted onto vehicle doors
-windows five ply bulletproof polycarbonate/transparent fiberglass, stronger than the glass on American-armored Humvees (three ply)
-armored undersides, to be lined with fibersteel (spidersteel, carbon fiber, and kevlar plating).
-air conditioning
-fibersteel roof with turret accessories
-Space for GPS and radios
-fibersteel engine casing
-overlapping ceramic interior panels
-Upgraded engine to carry the increased armor

cost-$230,000 USD

Custom orders also available.

Truly a great rifle, and an excellent attempt on the part of Heckler & Koch to produce the next generation of military rifle for Germany, but it was not to be. The engineers took the best of all NATO standards for a battle rifle, and incorporated them into the G41. Features such as 1:7 twist rifling for the stabilization of the NATO standard SS109 62 grain projectile, a forward assist, a carrying handle, a bolt that locked open on the last round fired, and in the most overt desire to win over the M16 users, the ability of the rifle to accept actual M16 magazines.

When the HK79 was added, each of these rifles had the 'TGS' suffix added to their name. It stands for 'Tactical Group System.'

At 1000 meters this projectile will penetrate a 40 mm of RHA (rollded homogenous steel armour) and will result in serious secondary fragmentation effect behind the armour. That said, it will penetrate two walls of any modern APC at one kilometer range. The trajectory is very flat and does not rise higher than 800 mm above the line of sight when fired to 1000 meters. The cartridge is of somewhat original design, and has plastic case with steel head and base. The projectile is concealed within a plastic sabot.

The C1 Ariete Mk 3's is mainly composed of sturdy rolled homogeneous armor (RHA) steel plates, sandwiched around thicker protective material.

The core armor is a variation on the British Chobham armor -- an arrangement of metal plates, ceramic blocks and open space. HEAT and Sabot rounds may make it through the outer layer of the armor, but they won't make it all the way into the crew compartment. The ceramic material can absorb a lot of heat, as well as heavy physical blows. The rest of the hot gases or metal pieces spread out in the empty air pockets. The Mk 3 has extra layers of steel and depleted uranium that supplement the Chobham-style armor. This combination will hold up to any tank round and most missiles (the powerful Hellfire missile is a notable exception).

Its 120 mm smoothbore utilizes a high speed auto-loader that allows for a high rate of fire to be obtained.

The Centauro B1 tank destroyer was designed to carry out tactical reconnaissance and territorial defence tasks. The main mission of the Centauro heavy armored car is the protection of lighter vehicles and units of the Cavalry. It is not a reconnaissance vehicle, but a tank destroyer/wheeled tank. The Centauro carries a fully armed and equipped crew of 2 to 4 men, which makes it extremely flexible to use, especially in peacekeeping operations. Vehicles in the Centauro family have a basic protection guaranteed to withstand 14.5 mm bullets (25 mm on the front section). This can be increased to 30 mm by bolting on additional protection. The Centauro was deployed in Somalia and former Yugoslavia and has proved its toughness and the suitability of its gun system for use in peacekeeping operations as well as in the reconnaissance tasks for which it was designed and developed. Because of their characteristics, these tanks have been used to escort motor convoys, for wide area control and for road patrols, and have proven rapid intervention capability in unforeseen crises.

Caliber: 9x19mm 7N21 and 7N31, compatible with all 9x19mm Luger/Parabellum ammo

Length (stock closed/open): 424 / 620 mm
Rate of fire: 500 rounds per minute
Magazine capacity: 32 rounds (box magazine) or 64 rounds (helical magazine)
Effective range: up to 200 meters

The PP-90M1 submachine gun is the latest development of the Tula-based famous KBP design bureau. It is a completely new development, despite its designation, that could misleadingly suggest that it is a derivative of the PP-90 and PP-90M folding clandestine machine guns. PP-90M1 could be described as a more modern rival to the "Bizon" PP-19 submachine gun, made in Izhevsk. It is intended to provide compact and lightweight police weapon that could lay serious amount of fire, thanks to its large-capacity helical magazine (similar in basic concept and design to "Bizon" and Calico submachine guns magazines). The most interesting part about PP-90M1 is, however, that it also could be fitted with adapter and then use typical box magazines, which are lighter, have slimmer profile and 1/2 capacity of standard helical magazine.

Caliber: 9x18mm Makarov
Weight: 1.65 kg with empty 20 rounds magazine
Lenght (stock closed/open): 325 / 485 mm
Barrel lenght: 167 mm
Rate of fire: 900 rounds per minute
Magazine capacity: 20 or 30 rounds
Effective range: 100 meters

AEK-919 submachine gun was developed at the Kovrov Mechanical Plant in the mid-1990s for Russian Army and special law-enforcement forces. Initial design was based on Austrian Steyr MPi-69 submachine gun, and was not withouth a certain flaws. After initial testings design was improved - overall lenght was decreased, cross-bolt safety switch was replaced by the rotating fire selector/safety swithch; ergonomics also was improved.
AEK-919K is a simple blowback operated, selective fire submachine gun. It featured a "sleeved" bolt which, in forward position, encloses the rear part of the barrel. AEK-919K is fired from the open bolt, and fed from the two-column magazines that hold 20 or 30 rounds. Receiver is made from the stamped steel, pistol grip with triggerguard and a heatshield are made from the plastic. Cocking handle is located at the left side of the receiver and does not move when gun is fired. AEK-919K featured an "L"-shaped open rear sights marked for 50 and 100 meters distance, it also can be equipped with laser aiming device and "red dot" sight. Barrel of the AEK-919K featured polygonal rifling and threaded muzzle, so a silencer can be quickly installed if required

Kord 12.7 Russian Machine Gun
http://www.zid.ru/images/products/military/kord_50_3.jpg
caliber: 12,7x109 mm
weigth: 25.5 kg MG itself, 41.5 kg on 6T7 tripod mount with 50 rds belt
Length: no data
Length of barrel: no data
Feeding: belt 50 rounds
Rate of fire: 650-750 rounds/min
V0: 820-860 m/s

The "Kord" is the newest development in the heavy MG class. It is developed and manufactured at Kovrov Mechanikal Plant (ZID - V.A.Degtyarev plant JSC), Russia.
The "Kord" will replace the now-in-service NSV-12.7 and NSVT "Utes" MGs. The main reasons for this replacement are 1) need for more accurate heavy MG and 2) the fact that "Utes" MGs are manufactured in Ukraine and the supply of both new MGs and spare parts are limited since the desintegration of USSR.

The "Kord" is belt-fed, air-cooled, gas-operated full-auto only machine gun. It uses different from the NSV locking principle - barrel locking is achieved via breechblock device. Belt (same as in NSV) could be feed from both left and right sides. Barrel is quich changeable, and is built under the proprietary ZIDs technology that ensures axially symmetrical heating of the barrel during the fire and thus retaining good accuracy during sustained fire for longer amount of time (and ammo). This technology (probably) borrowed from GSh-23 aircraft guns, which also manufactured at ZID. According to some sources, accuracy of the Kord is some 1.5-2 times better, than NSV "Utes". "Kord" also equipped with muzzle brake/flash hider.

rate of fire 400-600 rounds per minute

The Ultimax 100 light machine gun had been developed by ST Kinetics/Chartered Industries of Singapore company and is in service with Singapore Armed Forces and in some other countries.

The Ultimax is a very lightweight and mobile support weapon. It is a gas operated, rotating bolt locked, full automatic only magazine fed firearm, that fires from open bolt. The gas system has 3 positions gas regulator. The overall action design allows the bolt carrier/bolt group to travel all the way back without being stuck into the rear of the receiver. This feature helps to reduce felt recoil and to improve accuracy.

Barrel length: 460 mm
Weight 5.5 kg empty, 6.2kg loaded with 10 rounds
Capacity: 10 rounds box or 20 rounds drum detachable magazines

USAS-12 is a gas operated, selective fire weapon. It uses a gas system located above the barrel, with more or less conventional rotating bolt locking. The interesting feature, probably borrowed from Atchisson designs, is the long bolt overtravel, which results in relatively low peak recoil and low rate of fire, which is essential for weapon firing powerful 12 gauge shells. USAS-12 is an ambidextrous weapon, having two ejection ports on each side of the receiver, and two slots on the forearm for cocking handle. The ejector on the bolt and the cocking handle could be easily set to operate either side of the gun, depending on the present shooter needs and preferences.

FIGHTERS
Fighter China-1 (or JF17)
http://www.stormpages.com/jetfight/fighter/FC-1_01i.jpg
Powered by a Russian RD-93 turbofan (an upgraded RD-33), it might also be powered by a domestically produced engine (Kunlun II or locally produced RD-93?) if it ever enters the service with PLAAF. The A-6 style "V" shaped air-intakes are believed to provide smooth air flow to the engine at high AoA. The aircraft might also be fitted with an inflight refueling probe and a deck arrester hook. The fire control radar is expected to be Elta EL/M-2032, FIAR Grifo S7, or Phazotron Kopyo-F. A locally designed radar may be installed on domestic version if it ever enters service with PLAAF. Other avionics include a 25° field of view HUD, two MFDs, HOTAS and INS/GPS. However some of them have not been finalized. Weapon load includes both short (AIM-9P/PL-9/Magic 2) and medium-range AAMs (Aspide/SD-10). LGBs and laser designatin pod can also be carried for precision strike missions. Pakistan planed to acquire at least 150 JF-17s (Joint Fighter-17/Thunder) and demanded equal commitment from PLAAF as well.

S1 Systems Dynamix of East Islandia presents the Type 9000T turret, for use on infantry fighting vehicles and APCs.

http://www.army-technology.com/contractor_images/giat6/giat1.jpg
40mm caliber, uses telescoped ammunition. In tests against various American and NATO bloc APCs and IFVs, the Type 9000T excelled at long range gunning, accuracy, and power, especially when armed with specialized penetrators.
Price- (install and build) 13,500 USD

Below are teh specs for the SPG (Self Propelled, Guided) Anti AIr Defence system, which provides medium-point air defense. This is similar to both the German SPAAG and the Chinese Type 95 SPAAG/SAM system, incorporating several 20mm guns and one Gatling gun for close in combat.

The AT-7000 SPG Anti Air system is basically four 20mm guns, four fire and forget SAMs, and several radar units and a CIWS mounted on an improved Chinese built Type 98 tank chassis.
An electro-optic package mounted on the forward part of the turret includes a TV tracking camera, infrared tracking camera and a laser range-finder which feeds information to the onboard fire-control computer. This calculates the weapon-laying data, and when the target is within range the gunner opens fire. The gunner also has a joystick with which to lay the weapons onto the target.

The TV tracker has a maximum automatic tracking range of 9km while the infrared tracking camera has a maximum range of 6km. The laser range-finder is quoted as having a minimum range of 900m, maximum range of 6,000m and is accurate to +/- 1m.

System reaction time depends on a number of factors. According to tests, in the radar search mode this is 10 seconds while in the optical mode it is about six seconds.

Also, due to the high failure rate in the Islandian Wars of several earlier versions of SPG air defence systems, East Fire Military Corp contracted Xian Electronix to build a passive ECM system that would conceal the search radar from most HARMs and radar-killers. this unit, the WC-5 Countermeasures system, has performed admirably in border engagements with West Islandia, lowering the percentage of destroyed units from 40 percent to 3 percent. In addition to this, EFMC also included a variant of the Type 900S Pop Up CIWS currently used on several Islandian ships, most notably light catamaran frigates, in order to destroy and take out missiles. This component folds into the hull for storage and transport, and folds out on a highly mobile, electronically moved arm. The actual unit itself is a Gatling gun, capable of firing 1000 bullets a second for short engagement times. The Type 9000 has its own guidance and control system, but is reliant on either the SPG's own radar or the radar mounted on the command post.

The radar itself, mounted in the command and control vehicle, is a SJ-5000 ground based airsearch radar, capable of scanning up to about thirty kilometers and with a maximum altitude of five kilometers, with the ability to track about and engage fifty different high speed targets. the information is fed into a W-9 information processor, which sorts out the target info and relays it to the different SPG units, who in turn engage the enemy. However, in case that the Command and Control Unit is destroyed, then the SPGs are equipped with shorter range SE-130 radars, capable of tracking up to ten km and twenty targets.
Communications equipment installed in the battery command vehicles allows it to transmit information in a digital form up to 10km, by standard radio up to 15km and by wire up to 600m.

ooc: Assault rifles have good range and firepower, submachine guns are small, easy to conceal and transport and usaully have a very high rate of fire. Machine Guns are usually very power and have incredibly high rates of fire, they are used to lay down cover and suppress the enemy primarily. Shotguns are highly lethal at very close range, and are used to breach doors and the like. Sniper Rifles are very deadly at very long ranges.

Well, I like to think that you could assume you have some things to start out with, and once you get a good economy you start making your own stuff, and stores aren't that neccessary, its really a matter of judgement.

Dra-pol
11-11-2003, 22:02
The Choson Peoples' Republic of Dra-pol finds itself in dire need of modern defensive systems. Recent Chinese fighters have been of particular interest.

It appears that the FC-1 is priced here at $20 million per unit? Previous Drapoel intelligence suggested that China herself may produce them for $15 million per unit, or $10 million should orders reach above 300 units. We wonder if any similar steps may be apparent in the East Islandian export programme with regards to this aircraft?

We hope to make a significant order on this aircraft, but the specifics depend rather upon these economic concerns.

For now the republic wishes to order forty five (45) J-10 fighters, with a view to further orders if delivery is achieved and performance deemed acceptable. Further, we greatly desire a supply of YJ-8K (or other compatible) anti-ship missiles as utilised by the J-10.

Sadly Dra-pol (North Korea) is under naval blockade imposed by a number of invading western imperialists, and thus importation will require either running of said blockade (which we must regrettably discourage), or else insertion via China (ooc:I am not sure quite how said nation would view shipment of arms from one nation to another via its soil, but Dra-pol presently claims good relations with China, and would offer to cover some manner of transit..tax or such that might appease any reservation on their part).

Seeing that Drapol is in need of equipment, we will build the J10s immeidately. Also, the FC1s indeed do have such a program in place (buy more than 300 units and each fighter is 10 milllion USD) and we will ship the weapons through the Trade Unionists, a nation that is not officially afffiliated with us but aids us from time to time.
ALso, YJ8 and YJ82 missiles will be added... later. we will inform you when they are available.
Dra-pol
12-11-2003, 01:35
That is very good news.

We shall arrange at once transfer of funds ($2.7bln, I believe) for the forty five J-10s.

As for the FC-1s, the republic is delighted by the new information, and wishes to confirm an order for three hundred (300) units (unless "over 300" really does mean over 300, in which case consider the order for 301).

This deal is expected to multiply the aerial defence capacity of Dra-pol almost beyond measure, and may play a major role in securing the nation's right to self determination.

We thank you.

The J10s will be shipped via IL76 to a suitable place in Dra-pol.. Please provide us with a location that can be used for transport.

The FC1s will be at ten million USD each. (is that three billion for three hundred i think)
The FC1s will also be shipped there. Also, we would like to know if you would want to enroll your pilots in our training program for the J10s and FC1s.

The planes will be completely built and shipped at the end of six months. (not RL months, about htree or four RL days)

Islandia; thank you once again. It is quite important that the aircraft arrive at Kanggye near the Chinese border. Security there is supremely tight, and several airstrips are operational.

Pyongyang and Hamhung/Hungnam are in enemy hands, as is most of the coastline. Recent small scale landing exercises near the north east went uncontested, so flying in over either China or the north coast ought to be safe. What remains of our present airforce will be commited to the security of you incoming aircraft.

As for the training programmes- we hope to finalise further deals with the Chinese for limited training programmes, but would be delighted to have the J-10 pilots enroled in your programme, feeling confident that they will end up the most capable warriors possible.

Your service thus far has been excellent, and the Choson Peoples' Republic shall not forget it.

Dra-pol
30-11-2003, 09:27
(Oh, go on then- I'm realising that my early-Dra-pol mindset (imploded economy, isolationist policies) has me hugely under-using the republic's military budget, which recently surpassed the entire GDP of Japan..)

Though since its purchase of some 345 aircraft from East Islandia Dra-pol has put into motion plans for production of similar machines at home, it is recognised by the Central Directorature that the nation is ill prepared for high rate mass production of sensitive equipment and sophisticaed machinery.
In response to this a vast acquisition programme has been authorised to give the PAAF a respectable defensive capability much sooner than would otherwise be possible.

(Now this really is likely to be a large order.. I've been looking at figures from the PRC and DPRK  )

Pleased with the performance of the initial aircraft ordered, the PAAF wishes to place orders for a further:

1,800x FC-1 fighters
700x J-10 fighters

(Dra-pol did not enjoy having its capital city razed by bombers flying above the ceiling of its few ancient Shinden interceptors)

Following the PAAF order, the People's Army approached East Islandian authorities to express an interest in having native Drapoel tanks produced in EI.
The D-18 Koshiako Supplimentary MBT is desired in huge numbers (ooc:tens of thousands), and Drapoel factories -what few there are- find themselves bogged down with production of small arms, artillery, munitions, supply trucks, AA systems, and lighter medium tanks.
Under the initial proposal, Dra-pol would completely fund the construction of specialised production facilities in EI, buy the raw materials from EI or EI preffered sources, and pay the wages of the EI employees (there would be a few Drapoel employed in supervisory roles, of course), as well as paying for transport to Dra-pol of the finished weapons. Essentially it would be a Drapoel factory in East Islandia, boosting our production capacity while improving Islandian employment, thus hopefully making the government that bit more popular, and providing potential tax revenues.
The D-18 was first announced on this page http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=67430&start=380 but better specs are available.
(ooc:it's not quite top of the line, but then it is meant to be produced relatively quickly and cheaply)
East Islandia
01-12-2003, 02:12
EI expresses its approval of the Dra-pol plan to produce tanks. We planned on demolishing three older tank factories after we had constructed four new, state of the art facilities, but now they will be alloted to producing tanks from Drapol. These three tank factories are not ancient, but rather a bit dirty, so after a little renovation and clean up they will be good for building tanks in huge numbers-like in the Islandian Wars.
There are also three spare facilities that may be converted to building tanks; these were former automobile factories that have been abandoned.

The FC1s and J10s are being produced by No. 9 export factory and No. 20 Export Facility. they will be available in a few RL weeks, and will be gradually shipped to ur nation via IL76 and Tu330.

There is also a number of vacancies in the EI flight training skools, so we offer to enroll your students in those if you wish. There is space for about a hundred or so fighter and bomber pilots in the First Tactical Engagement School in So-kun Island in the west, where your students will be drilled endlessly on dogfights, bombing raids, escort duty, and the like.

Hey, Sarenia, I am sorry but your country is not big enough, and does not have a powerful enough economy for that order. I will however offer you a long term payment plan, that will enable you to pay us back as your nation matures.

The Order stands at just over $41 billion,

How about a $4 billion dollar payment over 10 years, and then upon the final year, a payment of the $1 billion remaining credits. The Equipment will be delivered immediately, however.

Hopefully East Islandia accepts this, as you bought from his store as well.

The Sarenian government had anticipated such a response, and a payment over time plan was what was expected, and approved. Parliament had assumed that this was understood. Please forgive me, speaking for Parliament, for the misunderstanding.
