Germany The netherlands by surprise
the UN has been recieving reports about a mass buildup of Tanks, Rifles and submarines. They thought nothing of it, figuring it was normal to rebuild an army every now and then. But on (Month) (##) of the year 20##, at 5:00 AM, on the crack of dawn. A loud boom is heard in the Captial of the netherlands, Amsterdam. The city's power plant has been knocked out. Many residents still sleep, but for those that are awake, there is a small state of panic. Lights are out, no radio or television. A second boom is heard, but this one differents...its gunfire, and its close. Nazi troops, or Blutkämpfer's (Blood fighters) March over the national border and begin their raid, burning and shooting everyone and everything in their path. A sloppy defense put together by the netherlands consists of a few tanks and aircraft, and a few Militamen. Tanks then roll into the battlefield, blasting the aircraft out of the sky. The Blutkampfer's march in a trained order, leaving only a pile of blood, wood chips and dust in their path of destruction. Meanwhile, back in the capital city of Amsterdam, new German U-boat XXVI class' submarines surface on the city's shore.missles, rockets and other weapons of destruction. All of a sudden, as if a sudden wall formed around the coast of The Netherlands, Uboats surface all around The Netherlands, creating an unpassable wall of doom.
Back in germany, the nations few nuclear silos are empty, where have they gone to??????
In neighboring france, extremly high radiation levels are dectected from the netherlands. Why????
In less than 3 hours, all of the Netherlands has been decimated.
Germany calculates is losses after the major fighting is over. 500,000 Germany lives were lost in the skirmish, and an additional 570,000 were lost when they were caught in the nuclear blast. Johan Hitler realizes as most of his forces were sent to fight, he sends his remaining 1 million to defend the homeland, from the netherlands allies.
The Allied States of Zossen needs a motive for this attack or else you will be attacked immediately. And how in the world does a nation as young as you have nuclear weapons?

The Federal Republic of New York and New Jersey believes in the three strike rule. One strike-WWI, Two strikes-WWII, three strikes-this latest incident. Give us a damn good reason why you just committed the action that you did or else your nation is going to find out what it's like to be on the bayonet end of an experianced military with a budget that surpasses what your entire nation makes in a year by 20 fold.

How many nations with populations of only 8 million have nuclear weapons, enough U-Boats to surround the entire coastline of the Netherlands, enough troops to completely overwhelm the Dutch defenses AND still have enough people left in their country to have a functioning state?

OOC: Let's either pretend he's a new Nazi Germany that rose up in the near future, with the same population as today's Germany or very close. Or we should find a good, big Nazi player to roleplay as Nazi Germany II for now. I personally pick the former, and roleplay as such.

Discovered nukes? The person who invented nukes was from germany, thank you very much.Too true, but he was also Jewish, and we all know how Nazis felt about that. Also, just because real-life Germany had/has nuclear capibilities doesn't mean that you do. NationStates is different from real life, it even takes place on a different planet/dimension.
In short, you don't have nukes. Wait a month and RP building up your military, then RP building nukes and using them.

OOC: Wazzu isn't exactly a superpower in NS, but it is most definately a regional power. It exists in about 2/3rds of what was once Sweden...and offworld.
Wazzu is rich, well populated, powerful, and close with a strong RP history. While your charicters can do what they want, I think what Wazzu has said would weigh heavily in their decision making process.
At this point, it is in the interest of your nation to be cautious.

Though, isn't that the point of Blitzkrieg? To administer a swift coordinated attack by land and air forces before the enemy can entrench?

OOC: For the attacked nation, yes. But keep in mind that mind that in modern times, jet aircraft can be over another country in a matter of minutes, or hours. This is especially true of Europe, and NGII is playing in a post-modern (future) time.
So other nations should be able to quickly respond in some manner or another.

Wazzu isn't exactly a long hop away from Germany...the buildup of forces was quite visible to ships and planes in the Baltic...more then the population of the poor little copycat dictatorship. This would be a pushover.
