eh, some how i don't think the leopard 2 is WW2 vintage, its the tank the germans designed when they got fed up with the americans messing around on the MBT70 project (which altter became the abrams).

You're getting them mixed up. The Leopard 2 is the one that evolved from the MBT-70. The Abrams was designed by the US when they left the project.

It also isn't a 'light defense tank'. It is a main battle tank that was developed from the MBT-70. The US left the project and developed the Abrams. You also got a crappy pic of the Leopard 2 that looks like an ORIGINAL Leopard 2. The Leopard 2A6 looks sleeker.

My bad, but you must admit that the MBT70 looks a lot closer to the abrams then the leo 2.
