Transdynamics Consortium has enjoyed tremendous success in the high-volume, high-efficiency passenger market with its line of Ultraliner aircraft. Today, Transdynamics has entered the lucrative, but problematic, high-speed civil transport market with the new, Mach 2.2 "Sonic Clipper."

Designed for the business traveller, government official, or private citizen that has to be at his or her destination with all due haste, the "Sonic Clipper" is Transdynamics Consortium's answer to the ill-fated Concorde. Advanced aerodynamic shaping reduces the characteristic sonic boom to acceptable environmental levels and composite materials keep weight down while proving the necessary protection of vital systems and passengers. The basic "Sonic Clipper" is priced at USD 235 million.

The order is confirmed. The five "Sonic Clipper" airframes will be ready for delivery in two NS years (the production line is just starting up).
That's not a problem. We were most impressed with the other liners you provided us and will purchase more of them in the future. Ouyr citizens were most pleased.

ooc: problem is that the tickets will be either very expensive or you wont make any profit if you do this. Concorde had the same problem, and thats the reason why noone makes a new one.

OOC: The problem with Concorde was actually mostly sound. It was simply too damn loud for most places to allow overflights. Any new supersonic civil transports will have to be shaped in such a way as to dampen the sonic boom.

OOC: thats why i'm going for the reduced seating so that i can justify charging higher prices, i mean these days who wants to sit in those tiny cramped seats on concorde.
i'm aiming for a direct glamour/ play thing market, if i can find some way of getting operating costs down then some people might buy them a private jets or soemthing (heck people buy all sorts of junk on NS).
But ACS likely has the better solution.
yes there is also the sound issue but then again it just looks so pretty and given how little people actually care for thier citizens here...
ooc: I'm actually afraid that Crookfur is right here. The reason Concorde has been taken out of the air was ticket prices Sound was only a problem on launch (oh, and that charles de gaulle inccident)

OOC: And a major factor in why it became so expensive is because potential routes were closed off one-by-one because of noise restrictions. Eventually, only the London-NYC and Paris-NYC routes were allowed to remain open... and that's because most of the route is over the Atlantic Ocean. If Concorde had been allowed to fly all over the world, as originally intended, the situation likely would have been quite different.
ooc: no, she was expensive becuase of fuel costs! Even without that wine and dine shit, she was still worth a fortune to fly. Do you have any idea how much it cost to keep her in the air. No matter where she could have gone in the world, she would still ahve cost a fortune to go on because of the cost of keeping her airborn period.

OOC: A cost that could have been mitigated by flying numerous routes, with numerous airplanes, flying numerous passengers... a situation that was originally intended, but did not come about because of the noise restrictions. For a while there, the Concorde was actually making money for British Airways. However, events like 9/11 and the recession in the UK hit the Concorde venture hard.

Ancient Terran Airlines (ATA) would like to place an order for 18 of these wonderful aircraft for use on 4 long-range routes. In addition, the government wishes to purchase 3 "Sonic Clippers" for use by the Terran Leadership Airlift division. We will be refitting the aircraft to our own specifications, so we require no passenger seating and no paint.
Consider the money wired upon confirmation.
Thank you.

Andorice wishes to know if the Autonomous City-States would allow one of its aircraft companies to set up a network of airports in Andorice. We have already purchased 5 of your Ultraliner aircraft, but at the time we don't have a network of airports to support them. The Autonomous City-States is welcome to set up this network for the time being, and once Andorice is able to take control of these airports, we will purchase them from you. We await your acknowledgement of this proposal.

The Dominion would like to purchase 2 unpainted aircraft.
Our biggest airline, WWL, would like to purchase a fleet of 20. You mentioned that the price you gave was for a "basic" aircraft. WWL is wondering what other options are included.
OOC: Isn't that Boeing's old design for it's answer to the Concorde?

The 2 unfinished airframes are available for immediate delivery. The additional 20 airframes can be delivered over the next two NS years. Additional options available include flat-screen entertainment systems for each passenger, massaging chairs, and satellite Internet access. For a cost, Transdynamics can add nearly any features you would like... so long as structural integrity and safety standards are maintained.
