I have a new fighter I am developing and any comments or suggestions would be welcome. Here is the fighter:

GH-15 Stinger

Designation: Swarm Fighter
Environment: Air/Space
Armor Thickness: 10 cm
Dimensions: 9m x 5m x 3m
Armaments: Two wingtip Stutter Cannons, three Wasp-Class Cluster Missiles, and one rear-firing Diffusion Cannon.
Top Speed: Mach 8 atmospheric/0.98c space
Specs: The GH-15 Stinger, usually found in squads of four or, for large-scale engagements, squadrons of twelve, is a devastating unmanned close combat fighter controlled by a Class Five Robotic Intelligence. Combining incredible speed and maneuverability with excellent armor and short-range weaponry, as well as the capability to function with no loss of effectiveness in space, the Stinger is ideal for fighter versus fighter combat and strike missions on aerial platforms or stations. The Stinger is also packed to the brim with fusion high explosives, and can be ordered to perform devastating kamikaze runs on enemy formations. Perhaps the only drawback is that the Stinger is designed specifically for aerial close combat, and not for ground assaults or attacks on aerial warships. The next model, the GH-20, is in its design phase at Guanyu Aerospace Technologies and the company has announced that it is a great improvement in versatility over the GH-15, and will be capable of performing strikes on ground targets while maintaining its outstanding dogfighting performance.
Price: 250 million USD for wing of 144 Fighters (12 squadrons).

Is it possible to send an aircraft to Mach 8?

((OOC: Interesting. Perhaps a different color scheme, eh?))

Attican Empire: Considering that it is space-capable, yes.

Dimelda: The pic may not be the pic I use for the finished product, and if I do use this one yes, I was already planning to edit the coloration.

Whats wrong with the color scheme?? blue angels woot!

It says unmanned in the description.

Aren't there enough other pics of F-18s out there so you don't have to mess with a shot of the Blue Angels? Another point, that shot will be a real pain to edit since there so many tails, be better to try one of the solos so there's only one plane in the shot

nice f/a-18.

Ah, so unmaned, and space capible? so its a horrible piece of shit that cant think, cant fight and isnt worth the material its built out of, and is a flagrent godmod that is ignored?

Well, considering that this whole thread is to think of things that sould be changed, if you will give your basis for those statements I will try to address them. Otherwise I will assume you are just another pain in the ass flamer who delights in annoying others.

Not enough weapons

(And put Space Fighter in the topic)

All space tech is considered a flagrent godmod and is ignored, while i have absolutely no faith in UAVs. I'm an old school fighter jock. Put a man in it.

Nice, I'd like to see it up against one of my CCF-16s!

You'll like our method to defeat UCAVs then. We give our pilots a drug to make them less susceptable to the effects of high-G flying, combined with an improved g-suit.

Seversky, if you personally don't like space tech/UAVs fine. That doesn't mean you have to put some shit on other people's threads that has no point other than to annoy the author.

To everyone who has posted "not enough weapons"/"I wonder how this would measure up against my (insert random craft name here)" keep in mind this is a SWARM Fighter, meaning it is meant to be deployed in massive quantities and overwhelm the enemy, not in one-on-one against enemy fighters.

55 million? 35 million? AH! You might want to keep those fragile cardboard creations safely away from Wazzu.

http://members.cox.net/davage/images/JinnFighterSmall.jpg

Each Jinn is US $10 billion of origional, high technology, hidden capibility, December Nation, Wazzu space superiority.

Expensive? Yes. One of the best fighters in NS? You better believe it.

Of course, there aren't a whole lot of them...but more then enough to blast through 3rd world creations.

MUAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!! :D

Guanyu, I wouldn't worry about it being too weak. It is probably as good as 98% of the other spacecraft in NS.

I only see one problem with it, speed.

In space, the only speed limit is the speed of light (or to whatever you have enough fuel to get to, usually WELL below lightspeed). You might want to give it acceleration (how many gravities (g's) it accelerates by) instead.

In an atmosphere...well, if your launching from Earth, mach 8 isn't fast enough to get into orbit. You can make little hops into space, but you can't actually orbit. If you want to orbit, you'll need to get up to around mach 24.

Otherwise, very nice. :)

PS: My "my fighter is better then yours" was aimed at the two previous like posts (by Capsule)

OOC: What drug makes a pilot less susceptible the effects of not having enough blood flowing to their brains?
