They also control demand by very good advertising on useless peices of crystals that are quite common. Artificial Diamonds are quite cheap and easy to manufacture.

Dimonds are not used as a puncturer(lol) because they arent sharp. They are just very very hard. THink about it im under rock for oh about 1000000 years will i be dense or sharp? dense. yea so no the domond would not shatter or break, but it would not go though the armor.

Put whats the point of a bullet that would go straight through and not cause as much damage as say... a soft tip or whatever. It really is pointless to put a diamond on the tip of a bullet...

They use a small hammer and chisel, not just a grinder.

If they were feasable, I'm sure some militaries/governments would already be doing it.
If it it's something hard, it will shatter. As Attican Empire said, you can lay a diamond down and smash it with a hammer.
And a standard 50 cal is going to go through anything anyway that is not tough enough for a diamond to withstand. So a standard bullet is just fine.
