Tank specs---godmodding or not?

Just wondering if this would be godmodding or if the weights and speeds are right, etc.

OOS Insertion Vehicle

The ion weapon is kinda a GODMOD.

also, i wouldn;t use depleted uranium. Do you hyave any idea how many problems that has caused in rl to soldiers using it. Replace the ion cannon with a 150 mm battle cannon and maybe add a few machine guns and u should be fine :P

Weight's way too low. The recoil of a 125mm gun would be too much for it. Also, armor is too thick. The best armored tank at that weight level has 14mm of armor protection. 3 inches is 76.2mm, and uranium issignificantly heavier than steel.

and titanium is significantly heavier than steel.

Not true, Titanium has a density of .163 lbs/inch for a sheet and steel has a density of .286 lbs/inch for a sheet. Titanium is supposed to be lighter and stronger, as well as it's alloys.

Let's not forget the length stated which is wrong for the stated weapon and the suggested one. Yes, depleted uranium for armour is a bad idea a very bad one.

Whoops. You're right. I just keep thinking aluminum instead of steel for some reason . . .

Could you maybe tell me WHY these things are problems/how to fix them?

Also, the ionic weapon just ionises the air then sends an electric current through it.

The weapons systems are being tested...however, they are causing large BUMPs on seismographs.

The weaponry is fine, but for that armor your tank will need to weigh more and be slower.

The depleted uranium rounds have proved dangerous. But depleted uranium armor has not.

However, residual radiation has a possibility of passing on to battlefield soldiers marching past the destroyed tanks. Also, there are a lot of nations wary of using a nuclear arsenal and will eradicate those who do use it.

How, may I ask? If that were possible it would already have been done or at least thought of. What technology level are you anyway?

OOC: Actually, it has been thought of. There is a company, I forget which, that is currently designing exactly such a hand-held weapon for use by the police as a repeating tazer. It ionizes the columns of air using lasers, and then transmits the charge along the columns.

'Course, I'm probably way friggin' off on the specifics. My memory sucks, but I'm looking it up.

Tesla would be proud then.

Any idea what might happen if two beams become perpendicular to each other and the electric current passes?

OOC: I'm not quite sure, really. *Is definately going to have to have VMT cook up a man-portable weapon*

It is not a nuclear arsenal...

It have %60 percent less radiation then natural uranium.

It blocks more severe radiation

So if your going to be fighting in a radioactive zone, the troops will prefer the 2" of depleted uranium to the alternative. The destruction does pose a danger to the environment, however, only the particles which get hurled airborn.
