ZG-FC Dogfight

26-10-2003, 11:49
I have finally set it up!!

It is set over an airfield in the middle of nowhere, no trees, one road, nothing more. It is FCAF Broxburgh, our most secret Airbase, and you should be priveleged to visit. A guided tour will also be given, but first, the dogfight!

I know you are using the Su-47 lookalike, the Deus Ex Machina, and I am using my latest offspring, the F-32.Now, lets start!!!

A lone AZ-SMF-02 heads towards Freedom Country airspace. It bears the mark of the Marxist Pact and the flag of the United Socialist States of Zvarinograd. The pilot inside opens all frequencies.

FCAF Broxburgh Command, this is Genesis of the United Socialist States of Zvarinograd, requesting landing to refuel and begin the dogfight. Over.

*FCAF Broxburgh*

Roger that, we are ready. One EA-80 refueler is inbound, on your frequency. Refuel, we are getting the F-32 in the air.

The F-32
http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-9/387586/F-32.JPG

As you can see in the picture, it has forwards swept wings, and looks a lot like the F-35 JSF. The F-35 has a SVTOL capability, and utilises revolutionary technology, and uses the Lift Fan, a new way to introduce SVTOL to an airframe.

Anther aircraft that uses forward sept wings is the S-37 'Berkut', a dynamic new Eastern Block fighter. The height of Russian technology, it demonstrates great maneuverability in using forward swept wings. This makes it a great fighter.

Using SVTOL and Forward Swept wings together is revolutionary, and with its sleek shape, we hope the F-32 Python will lead the way, in the future.

Also, designed to be built cheaply, quickly and with easy maintenance in the front of the mind, it may come close to being as cheap as the F-35, but better.

Also incorporates Thrust Vectoring technology, adding maneuverability and agility for dogfights, close to ground flying and evasion. This technology has been used in such fighter as the F-22 and some of the modern russian fighters such as the Su-37 and others in the Su series.

------------RADAR-----------

The CFES MK4009R

Based on lessons learned producing the MK4005 multi role radar, MK4007 Small sized multi role radar and to some extent the MK4015 stealthy system, the MK4009 Offers a useful answer to your sensor requirements.

Capble of handling upto 20 long rnage contacts at once the Mk4009 is more than just a radar but full battle analysis and threat prioritisation system, offering automatic hand off of targets to the preffered engagement sensor and weapon (and will in turn accept hand offs from other systems). perhaps the most interesting feature of the Mk4009 is its lower power "stealthy" mode that greatly reduces the chance of emissions detection and the enemy being alerted, the Mk4009 can also use returns from other emssions platforms (such as Air Ground Sensors like JSTARs and ASTOR) to give a detailed image of the target area.

The MK4009R models adds a rear facing MK79 radar

Ranges:
Air surveillance: 320km
Detail Scan: 400km
Surface scan (full power) vs. large targets: 300km

I also hope you realise we are using electronic taggers, you know, fake bullets that recongnise when they ahve hit an enemy.

OOC:
I know we are using electronic taggers. I don't have much of a missle arsenal on the Deus ex Machina anyway.

IC:
The single U.S.S.V. Deus ex Machina manuevers gracefully as it attempts to link itself to refuel through the EA-80 tanker plane. Perfect contact. The pilot takes note of the beautiful scenery of Freedom Country as he waits to be completely refueled.

Beautiful, nothing like Zvarinograd's harsh wintry wasteland...

The pilots sighs as he detaches the refueling rod and manuevers the aircraft away, moving on a tight circle as he awaits the F-32 to come up to him and begin the dogfight.
26-10-2003, 12:25
The F-32 thunders down the runway, reaching 230 knots before going straight up. It climbs to 10,000 feet, before leveling out. The Pilot switches radar to scanning 60 degrees forward, horizontal. He also switches to AA-2 missiles, and selects Heat Seeking mode.

He sees a target a little further up, so he climbs to 20 degrees with the radar on self aquisition mode.
Zvarinograd
26-10-2003, 12:52
So it begins.

The pilot thought to himself as he opens the ECM 7446 GPS/radar/missle lock jammer and initiates radio silence. He readies the countermeasures and switches to AIM-120 AMRAAMs. As he looks towards the F-32, he takes note of his position as he pushes the aircraft close to 50 degrees upwards, facing the same direction as the F-32.

Catch me if you can.
26-10-2003, 12:59
The pilot sets the AA-2's to use all tracking systems. They all use different frequencisies, all 4 of the tracking systems on a different pattern, so no 1 jammer can mangle them all. Heatseeking is out the window, as it is jammed.

The Radar starts saying funny things, so the pilot sighs and turns it off, hopefully breaking ht elock of the AMRAAM's. He goes 50 degrees upwards, and switches to thermal, using its vision to see the fighter from a distance. There are 3 tracking systems, Radar, Heatseeking and Thermal, again meaning you need more than one jammer to knock them all.

As both planes scream uupwards, the 02 gets further and further away, using its twin engines to get further away. The F-32 switches into afterburners, and the thrust vectoring flips it over, and it angles down to the ground, at minus 70 degrees. He is no longer chasing, but running.
Zvarinograd
26-10-2003, 13:16
Where does he think he's going?

The pilots initiates the Deus ex Machina's afterburners and afterburning thrust-vectoring flipping it over as well and he begins a quick chase of the F-32, hopefully getting the initiative and the first lock. The AZ anti-G (for manueverability Gs) cockpit's gyrodynamic structure begins rotating, the pilot becomes slightly disoriented as the aircraft moves without him and he remains still. In an attempt to rid himself of the targeting system threat, he switches the aircraft's full electronic warfare suite to active jamming. He plans to get in range, take off the jamming and fire, initiating jamming again and moving out for evasive manuevers.

OOC:
Guess I need to fix the Deus ex Machina's electronic warfare suite later on.
26-10-2003, 13:37
The F-32, with its Heat Seeking and Radar taking a pounding, pulls up 100 feet from the ground and puts on more power. Flipping up again, vertically, trying to get a shot on the 02.

Coming up and over, the pilot switches to gun mode.
Zvarinograd
26-10-2003, 14:29
Genesis pulls up to 70 degrees to attempt a quick loop manuever to meet his enemy from directly above, he waits at the last possible moment to switch off his jamming and take a lock with a Sidewinder and release the electronic tagger. He's restless, looking at the countermeasure chaff every now and then, fearing an attack from superior missle weaponry.
26-10-2003, 19:02
Seeing the enemy has turned off his jammers on his displays (because he already knew he was there), the F-32 turned off all radars, sensors etc, initiated jammers and its ECM. Seeing the fighter coming up and over the other side at an angle, gaining quickly, he slowed drastically using low speed and brakes. Then, when slowed to 100 knots, he switched to VTOL.

The plane slowed to a hover, and as the fighter shot clower, he prayed....
Zvarinograd
27-10-2003, 00:20
What the?

Genesis completely forgot about the VTOL capabilites of the F-32 and accidentally broke the lock having to redirect his fighter. As he flies past the hovering plane, he again initiates his electronic warfare suite, fearing the worst.
27-10-2003, 11:25
The F-32, dimply staying in the air, flips back to normal flight. Turning slowly, it lets rip with its 3 barreled 27mm cannon, fanning shells out towards the other fighter.
Zvarinograd
27-10-2003, 12:10
BEEP.

The Deus ex Machina's electronics signals a hit from the tracers, ending the dogfight. He switches off afterburners and his electronics, opening all frequencies. He hangs his head in frustration.

Damn it. Nice fight. He speaks on the radio, as he heads down towards the FCAF Broxburgh airbase.
27-10-2003, 12:12
That was quick

"This is 224, F-32 number 077688, Frequency 141.74, requesting landing clearance and path through to the Deus Ex."

"Roger, here you are."

"Hey, nice fight. Quick, though. Unlucky. Want a rematch?"

OOC: How about it.
Zvarinograd
27-10-2003, 12:23
"Nah, I'm beat. Never had any combat experience, you'll pull a fast one on me again if I even try."

Genesis looks down ahead at an adjacent runway from the one he's going to land on, seeing four MA-4 supersonic bombers.

Damn. Freedom Country out for a war or something?
27-10-2003, 12:26
*FCAF Broxburgh - Control Tower*

"Damn, he can see 'em!! Jam him incase he's got a camera, and get them in the air!!"

Jammer on the ground goes off, emitting 3 frequencies at once. The F-32 starts jamming aswell.

The MA-4's roll onto the runway, and go to take off.

27-10-2003, 12:40
What the?

Genesis thinks to himself as his radio's getting jammed, looking away from the bombers as they fly away. The jamming stops as the bombers slip past the Deus ex Machina. Thinking it was faulty electronics, he looks back and sees the bombers are gone. He rubs his eyes and looks again, making sure it was just the G forces pulling tricks on his eyes.

"Nah. Couldn't be, could it?"
27-10-2003, 12:42
"This is 225, flight 673 lead. Switching to Active Camo."

"Roger. Ok, stop jamming."
