Today, President Akibura passed a law stating that 35% of all income is to be taxed for the purposes of defence. The government has also started a nationwide donation funded trust for the purposes of funding defence spending. One Osaka-based billionaire donated $45m US!

Japann's industrial capacity is now optimised for defence of the Empire. Automobile plants owned by Honda, Toyota, and Mazda have joined Mitsubishi in the "Nippon Defence Partnership" and have converted all their plants into arms manufacture.

MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT OF THE COMMONWEALTH OF BOA VISTA

The President of the Commonwealth, with the consent of the Commonwealth Parliament, has decided to impose an embargo on Japann. The embargo includes the following:

1. Japannese products are not allowed to be imported into or enter Commonwealth Controlled Territories.

2. The Yen is no longer allowed to be traded by Commonwealth Securities Firm. No Yen will be allowed to enter Commonwealth Controlled Territories.

3. Japannese companies are hereby not allowed to conduct businesses with companies registered in Commonwealth Controlled Territories.

4. Commonwealth citizens are hereby forbidden to spend any amount of money in Japann. Violators will be arrested and be fined 5,000 dollars.

5. If any maritime vessals or airplanes bounding for Commonwealth Controlled Territories are found to have onboard Japannese currency and/or products aboard, the currency and/or product will be confiscated without compensation and will be returned promptly to the Japannese Government.

6. Commonwealth Controlled Territories includes the following countries:
a. The Commonwealth of Boa Vista
b. The Incorporated States of Sao Jorge
c. The Constitutional Monarchy of New Spartha_

Also, the President, under the powers entrusted in him as the Executive Admiral of the Commonwealth Armed Forces, has put 15 destroyers on Condition 1 (In Action Status) and they are now in international waters near Japann to assist in the patrolling of the waters nearby. The

Commonwealth Government must emphasize that since the destroyers have strict orders not to enter Japannese territorial waters unless instructed to do so, any attacks by the Japannese Navy will be considered as an act of war. If the destroyers are instructed to enter Japannese territorial waters, the Commonwealth Defense Ministry will announce the decision.

I wish to remind everyone present today that in 1933 Fuhrer Adolf Hitler promised to not plunge Europe into another war for supremacy. Yet, merely 6 years later, he threw his army into Poland igniting Europe into flames.

Therefore, the point I wish to make is the following. Although Akibura may claim to have peaceful intentions we shouldn't forget the valuable consequence of appeasement and peace which lunged Europe on the road to war, because if we do we may find ourselves in a deadly quagmire that only war, blood and tears will free us from the mud of the battlefields.

Update from Nippon Defence Pact:

In excess of 200,000 small-arms have now being produced. The Japannese Navy has recieved 3 aircraft carriers (nimitz), 12 additional cruisers (Ticonderoga) , 26 destroyers (Arleigh Burke), and 15 Frigates (Perry). The army recieves small-arms and 1,200 M1A2 Abrams tanks. The air force has recieved nearly 400 F-22 Raptors and over 100 F-35s. Thanks to our efforts, Japann will be well on her way to becoming a regional power once again.

As you have witnessed, his intentions surpasse those of defense. No country in defense needs an aircraft carrier. Land bases should be sufficient.

The Armed Republic of Boomness is alarmed by this sudden shift of focus by Japann. We fear that althoguh you say that it is only for defense, you will get greedy and invade other countrys. If you make an unfounded invasion The Armed Republic of Boomness will consider it an act of war and defend the poor country you invade.

Akibura replies in a strongly worded letter, pretty saying "No way!"

The Federal Republic of New York and New Jersey having monitored Japanns departure from the MacAuthur Constitution so foolishly, and to plunge its industries into the buisness of military development and manufacturing can not, and will not sit still anymore. A Japann that is rearming at the pace they are doing can only mean a single goal. The world is not foolish enough to idly sit by while other nations rapidly build up their forces for what can obviously be one goal and one goal only. Starting now the Federal Republic of New York and New Jersey is closing its doors to Japann based buisnesses, currency and we will urge fellow nations in the World Buisness Organization to do the same.

To counter the threat as meager as it is to our nation, the Federal Republic of New York and New Jersey is instituting its largest naval building project of seafaring vessels ever. The Brooklyn Naval Yard which produced the Iowa class Battleships of the past will go on to build the Nimitz class Carriers of the future. General Motors of NYNJ and Ford Motors of NYNJ have both agreed to switch from automobile development to aircraft assembly much like they had done in WWII.(My automobile industry is huge. top 1,000 in the world out of 77,000 countries).
