Piracy on the Galactic Fringe
On the fringe of the galaxy, a lone transport carrying weapons to a planet under rebellion was attacked by a group of fighters. The fighters managed to disable to transport, and a small corvette flew in, took the cargo, and flew off to an unknown location. The fighters bore the insignia of the 'Totenkopf' (Death's Head) Pirate Guild.
OOC: This nation, albeit being new, is 'run' by a larger nation. They are not affiliated in RP.

News of this has reached the ears of the Traileric AeroNavy.Any attempt to take Traileric transports will not go unpunished. All civil vessels are now under guard.
Aboard the TKS Abomination, an old converted transport that has been turned into a warship capable of carrying 10 fighters-
Lt.: Sir, the transport is arriving now.
Captain Stuß: Good. Let's go down and see what is in there.
- On arriving in the docking bay -
- Transport lands -
Captain Stuss: Open the cargo bay.
- Upon opening, various peices of equipment, rather expensive on the black market, pour out.
- Captain Stuss picks up a sensor relay -
Captain Stuss: My god! This is worth millions!
Lt.: Should we sell it?
Captain Stuff: Hell no! Replace our current relay with this one.
-Various other peices of equipment are replaced with new peices aboard the ship.
-Just then, 3 ships -decloak- in front of the Abomination
- On Radio -
'Abomination, this is the GZS (Gottzorn, or God's Wrath) Destruction. Halt movement and prepare to be boarded.'
Captain Stuss: Cease your actions against this ship, or we shall open fire.
-The Destruction fires a small volley of 5 rail gun batteries -
Captain Stuss: Return fire! Scramble fighters!
- The Abomination fires 5 missiles at the Destruction, and then follows up with 6 rail gun shots. A large explosion is seen on the Destruction, and it appears to be retreating from the battle.
- The Abomination's fighters begin firing on the Destruction, and disable it.
Captain Stuss: Board the ship.
Lt.: What should we do to the crew?
Captain Stuss: Kill them.
-After scrapping the ship, and selling the parts on the black market, they went back to raiding standard shipping lines.-
-Just then, a medium sized transport arrived in the area-
Struss: Launch fighters. Disable the transport.
-On the radio, the ship hails 'Please! We are an unarmed refugee convoy! Please do not attack us!'
-Struss, having no feelings for that kind of thing, ignores the request. The fighters fire barrages of shots at the ships engines and apparent power supply systems. The ships engines die out, and the fighters use their guns to stop the ship.
-A small assault transport lands on the ship, killing its crew. They go thru each passenger pod, taking any valuables from the people. The ships vital systems are ripped out for salvaging, and the hulk, with the refugees, is left stranded in space.
Lieutenant: Sir, without life support, the refugees (about 3,000) will die...
Struss: Your point?
Lieutenant: Don't you feel at all bad about it, sir?
Struss: Why should I?
As the Abomination flies away, the transport explodes. Apparently, instead of having a slow painful death, they self destructed the transport. A peice of one of the Abominations fighters was sheared off in the blast. On it was the insignia of the Death's Head.
3 Totenkopf scout fighters intercepted a transport. Without relaying coordinates to the head ship, they decided to attempt to disable it themselves. When they began opening fire, the transport put its impulse engines on full. The scout fighters foolishly kept pursuit. The transport continually put out a higher power distress signal.
Two Klonor Poseidon freighters jump into the area carrying vital supplies for the resupply of the main military base at Gamma Draconis. Due to the recent military actions and other occurances they are flying without escort, hoping to slip in and out of the system before being spotted.

OOC: speaking of space pirates, anyone know what happened to Zoir?
A lone scout vessel is flying just outside of sensor range of Gamma Draconis, hoping to catch prey. He sees something on his scanners, but does not feel the object is large enough to go after (possible sensor interference from something). He also does not want to disrupt the attempted pirate ambush near the Capsulian fleet with such a minor (to him) boarding.
You know, they're not normal freighters. I was going to have an extremely large space battle ensue, with much death, destruction, and potential profit, but if you wont even attack two seemingly helpless freighters I wont bother.
However, inside the sensor range of the base, a God's Wrath scout vessel, using it's superior stealth technology, hopes to evade detection and get in close enough to the freightors to scan them.
Kanuckistan
26-10-2003, 05:28
The Kanuckistani freighter KCV Asperation also jumps(well, not really; more like 'apears out of nothingness') into the system, just the far side of it. An armoured cylinder nearly a kilometer long, she flew with no aparent escort. Several clusters of armoured lumps dotting her hull are the only features of any kind; her surface an unreadible barrier to all sensors trying to scan beyong it's borders.
The massive, matt black transport floats with little inertia relative to the local system; reactors recharging volt sinks so that they can complete the next leg of their journey.
Overall, it is a strange sight; the fact that Kanuckistani vessels usually perfer recharging their drives in the void of interstellar space only adding to the oddity.
That's better
IC:
"Lieutenant, come over here for a second."
"What is it, sir?"
"well, I was going over the sensor records, and I noticed a small anomaly. Here, it registers as a small scout vessel, but it's gone within a second."
"I'll give the sensors a quick check, but I think it's probably just a sensor ghost. Nobody has any clue we're here, and even if they did why bother attacking?"
"There have been leaks in the Command before, remeber that ambush that got Jorgens?"
"Yeah, well, he was carrying a shipment of Tsunamis. Valuable equipment, he should have been prepared."
"Didn't you look over our manifest? Do you have any clue what we're carrying?"
"Yeah, some Harbinsons Waheds. I think that's a new type of candy. Who cares?"
"Harbinsons Waheds? What the hell have you been smoking? Read it, Harbinger Warheads! You little idiot!"
"Harbingers? Oh shit! Get us the the base, now!"
"Hey, remember who's in charge here! But you're right, let's get there before anybody sees us."
The freighters continue on their long voyage.
The ship, intensifying cloak near his small reactors breaking point, gets in close enough to scan.
'Wow.'
Moving into a position to fire, he decloaks and begins firing at what he beleives to be the ship's main power relays (usually outside hull to prevent EM radiation from effecting crew).
Also, he sends out an extremely low-band call to nearby pirate vessels, and is responded by two Tugger class Freighter/Cruisers.
Tugger:
http://www.kuattech.com/ship.png
OOC: FYI, Harbinger Warheads are Klonors most powerful explosive. They release a 5 gigaton explosion.
IC:
"Incoming fire! We have a hostile vessel off the port relay!"
"Hell! Where did that thing come from? Bring us around!"
"No can do, he's severed the main relay. Our engines are dead"
"Oh ****."
The other Poseidon, viewing the trouble its partner is in, makes a quick u-turn and brings it's 5 Heavy Laser Turrets to bear (I told you these weren't ordinary freighters). Targeting the rear of the attacking vessel they unleash a volly and radio the base for reinforcements.
The explosion from the heavy lasers utterly destroys the scout vessel (corvette sized).
The 2 Tugger's, stealth on full (unlike the Scout Vessel, these ships are large enough to have near perfect stealth) near the small convoy. One of them launches 3 Wraith Fighters (it's full complement) towards the convoy.
OOC: The Wraith Fighters are too small to have optical stealth or strong sensor stealth, instead, they can jam sensors aimed at them, like tracking devices for turrets, and only when they aren't firing weapons.
OOC: So the big ships are invisible and the fighters can throw off targeting sensors? Neat
IC:
"Sir, we're having problems with the sensors! We're unabe to target the incoming fighters!"
"Great, what else can go wrong?"
"They're opening fire."
"Son of a bitch! Why didn't I just shut up. When can those ships get here from the base?"
"We have a Leviathan in-bound, but it'll take a while to get here, they're moving at STL........Sir, we have sensors back!"
"Great, try to push those fighters back, we need to wait out the Leviatahan!"
OOC: Fighters can only throw off targeting sensors IF the fighters are not flying. They also run on batteries, which means they can only combat for so long.
IC: The Fighters begin firing on the other Poseiden's power relays, while the 2 Tugger's decloak and fire 2 missiles each at the bridges of both ships. (The only armament Tugger's have are fighters (usually 4), rail guns, and missiles.)
OOC: That's why they suddenly got sensors back, the fighters started shooting and their jammers turned off
IC:
"We have incoming missles!"
"Target?"
"US! I'm reading two birdies bearing straight down on the bridge!"
"Evacuate the bridge! All crew, vacate the bride! Move to the pressure corridors, hopefully the doors can hold out the vacuum."
With a soundless bang the Poseidon bridges vanish in a puff of fire, leaving the to drift aimlessly
OOC: How long on the Leviathan
IC: The fighters begin firing on what they -hope- are backup power relays. The two Tugger's begin launching transports with marines. Their orders:
1. Secure the Ship.
2. No survivors.
OOC: How long would you like? I could have it be a long time (giving us time for intricate infantry combat and such) or it could be short (leading up to a major space battle). Your choice.
OOC: Enough time for -hopefully- my ships to get the warheads.
OOC:if this pirate starts to prey on my Supply shuttles in the LV system there's gonna be heck to pay
OOC: Damn, I was hoping that you wouldn't actually get to those things. They cost 5 billion each!
IC:
With the briefest flicker the illuminating bands throughout the ships goi black, plunging the ship into darkness and removing the gravity. Thankfully, air still works.
"Okay, they'll be boarding us next. We can only assume the Harbingers are the target. I want three teams, we need to protect the shipment! Form up!"
Without any hesitation the Marines sent to guard the crew form up and prepare to repel the borders.
The boarding ships dock on the freighers hull, and begin using fine lasers to cut thru it. (on both ships).
Meanwhile, one of the Tuggers recloaked, and began moving towards the oncoming Leviathan
OOC: Can you give me any specs on the Leviathan?
OOC: Sure, you can look at the picture at my store thread.
Length: 360 meters
Armament: 1 Heavy Beam Cannon, 2 Beam Cannons, 13 Heavy Laser Turrets
Fighter Capacity: 10
Defensive Capabilites: Sensor jamming transmitters, electronic anti-missle decoys, pinpoint anti-missle laser batteries

Kanuckistan

The Kanuckistani freighter watches their allies plight from afar; FTL sensors suddenly going hot so as to avoid being ambushed themselves, while heavily armoured bays opened breifly to birth twenty five Daemon's Bane class USV Interceptors from fast-launch racks.
They continued to wait and watch while power built in the vessel's heavy volt-sinks; half it's compliment of fighters, and the new model at that, screaming across the system under Streaming LDS at several time lightspeed.
Meanwhile, the one DH scout that avoided those freightors flies away in shame at a missed catch... but then sights the Kanuckistani fleet. It sends a tight lowband to 1 DH tugger in the area.
I gotta go for now. See you tomorrow!
Kanuckistan
26-10-2003, 06:53
OOC: It's just one ship, plus the fighters.
IC:
The Kanuckistani ship doesn't seem to notice the scout, tho if one is paying close attention, they may notice the miniscule power signil detectible through the sensor-defeating hull has slowly started to climb. It's not something you'd likly notice unless you were looking for it, but it's there, tho the generator's location can't be determined via the heavily muffled emmisions.
Okay, I'm back. Anything happen?
Far on the galactic fringe, where piracy runs rampant, merchant freighters have reported a new ship. They have only been able to aquire highly blurred images, but they describe it as a ship with 4 pylons, a carrier bay, and an extended bridge.
http://www.kuattech.com/Gorgonb.png
With a screech and a groan the airlock doors burst open and the pirate marines pour in with ready weapons to find.......... absolutely nothing. The airlocks and surrounding rooms are empty and abandoned, without even the barest hint of habitation.
As they slowly begin to move farther inwards towards the cargo hold a slight click is hear, and suddenly sections on the floor and ceilings slide apart, revealing hidden CrimTech Pulsar Rifles that immedietly begin to track the invading Marines.
A voice comes over the intercom: "You are trapped! Throw down your weapons, signal your vessels to move off, and surrender yourselves to our control or we shall be forced to open fire!"
OOC: If your power relays are down, your turret's don't work either, nor does intercom. Im assuming they are turrets?
Secret IC: The cloaked Tugger sends a call to the TKS Gorgon for assistance against the incoming Leviathan.
CrimTech rifles are people rifles, normal guns. There are people behind the walls holding them, they're not connected to the ship. But you're right, the intercom shouldn't work.
Let's say that a radio dropped into the room from one of the holes and the marines Commander was speaking through it
OOC: Wait, so the marines are on the other side of the walls prepared to shoot thru?
IC: The Gorgon, with no stealth capabilities, moves towards the Leviathan.
OOC2: The Leviathan should easily see the Gorgon's massive signature.
It's a defense thing built into poseidons, there's space between the walls of the rooms. Like this

The Marines stand between the walls, and certain parts of the walls slide aside to let them shoot into the rooms without exposing themselves. A perfect place for an ambush.
IC:
"Captain, we have a large cruiser inbound!"
"What class?"
"Unknown! Sensors profile suggests it's working with the pirates!"
"Charge the Beams. I want a wing of fighters (4 Ulysses) in the void ready to fly cover. let's see what they have."
And in the post above this there is supposed to be space between those two verticle lines.
IC: Aboard the carrier:
'Launch Fighters. Also, charge the EM cannon. Maybe we can capture it.'
40 Scimitars launch from the carrier.
my ship specs are here http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=85891
Aboard the freighter:
Pirate: 'Maybe we will.... for a price.'
"So, the wanna play? Launch the rest of the fighters and bring up the countermeasures. Let's show 'em a good time."
The rest of the Fighters launch and form up.
4 Ulysses SPace Superiority Fighters
4 Athena Light Bombers
2 Loki Fighters.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Price? How about your life? These things will rip through your amor in a thenth of second."
'Fire the EM cannon.' (Assuming you are close enough). A large ball of pure static electricy is formed, and then hurls out of the quadpylons towards the Leviathan. The fighters that were launched form into a defensive position around the Gorgon

'But you forget, the ships outside can destroy these ships in a matter of seconds, and then pick up any debris, such as the warheads!'

OOC: If someone sends a distress signal I could get involved.
Secret IC:
On the fringe of the galaxy, the Gottzorn Pirate's Guild current HQ, a hollowed out asteroid, is working on the most powerful cloaking device ever made. It's goal is obvious: to be able to cloak the monstrous Gorgon Supercarrier. If successful, it could have dire consquences for the galaxy...
Massive transports mine and carry resources to the HQ. There are only 10, but their shear size alone, 3km in length, each can carry enough supplies to build a single Tugger Cruiser, 3 carries enough for a single Gorgon.
http://www.kuattech.com/plebe.png
The Marine Commander snorts in contempt and responds in an obviously condescending tone.
"Your ships wouldn't dare! One misplaced shot will blow the warheads and kill us, you, and your freighters outside! Even if your vessels do manage to survive, the explosion will no doubt attract some attention. You're in the very heart of the Klonor Empires main military base, do you think your ships will even make it past the edge of the system? Your only option is lower your weapons and flee for your lives. Or would you rather push us a bit to far?"
OOC: (I can't post anything about the ship battle right now, I'm writing an essay and can't stay on-line for long"
'Well, considering our ships can cloak, I beleive we stand a pretty good chance of getting out alive.'
The Pirates lift their weapons and begin firing into the walls.
"You don't study much history, do you? Ever since the Manifest incident we've worked hard on that very thing. We have the best cloak detection system in the known Galaxy, developed by a combination of nations who had worked on stealth equipment for over 20 NS years. We'll find them, and pretty damn quick. Open fire!"
With that, each Marine shielded behind the wall sights in and lets loose, the tightly packed energy slamming into the priate body armor, and passing right through onto unshielded flesh.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The GDHC Orff, a Leviathan class Heavy Cruiser, takes the EM shot on the nose without the barest trace of a care (all Klonor equipment is EM shilded. So is almost all technology for every single space nation that RP's. Sorry, but that gun is almost completely useless)
"Idiots. They waste their charge on that gigantic shot, and we stop it with some modified plastic. These people need to hire a scientist or two just to tell them how to lose. Return fire! Use the Beams to carve a path for the Athenas, have the Heavy Beam go for the bridge, and I want the Lokis to find those other cloaked ships!"
Nevermind, I found the thread
OOC2: How does plastic stop several TERAWATTs of electricy? Also, my marines shot first.
IC: Worried by the Leviathan, the Tugger's shoot the transports at where they hope is the farthest from the warheads they can get.
Kanuckistan
27-10-2003, 04:56
OOC: EM shielding? Nothing beats a thin layer of superconductor, backed by a layer of some high-end insulator.
IC:
Meanwhile, the Kanuckistani fighters near the combat zone; all 25 cutting SLDS and switching to their inertial direct-drives.
OOC: When did you say you launched fighters?
Electro Megnetic fields don't cause any physical damage, only electrical. It is extremely easy to shield against it. We do it in real life, almost all military technology is shielded, and more and more vital civilian stuff is being shielded. For space tech, it'd be even easier to sheild against. My stuff is coated with a type of plastic that protects against EM fields (I don't really want to go searching for the thread where I techno babble my way through the description, just take my word for it)
And I know they shot first, but the walls protect my marines, the only things exposed are the barrels of the guns. Since you shot into the walls, you didn't even inconvenience the Klonor Marines.
IC:
The Posedion transports shudder and buckle, the hull ripping apart as the priate guns slice through the thin armor. On one ship the Harbinger Warheads are hit, detonating in an explosive fireball generating gigatons of energy. Thankfully, the other freighter stays intact.
OOC: Are the Harbringers Nuclear of Chemical?
Nuclear, for the full description visit my store thread.

OOC: Launched them in the seventh post doen on page two. And are you going to do anything against my freighter?
OOC: probly not.
Klonor: If it is nuclear, why would shooting it detonate it?
I have no quality IC response to that, so I'm gonna say that the Magic Fairy Goibbbb makes it explode.
Any response to my ship or Marine actions besides "lol"?
OOC: Well, your marines are dead as are mine... the ship went boom.
IC: The captain of the Tugger watched in horror as an explosion occured.
'Good thing those are nuclear... so shooting them does nothing.'
The Tugger swooped down to collect the warheads.
The Gorgon began opening fire with all of it's weapons onto the Leviathan (should be enough to rip its side open in one burst). The Fighters broke formation to attack the Leviathan's fighter escort.
Except for the fact that the warheads exploded on one of the freighers. The other freigher is intact, but only one.
And you have to post damage, or how you avoided damage, from my attack on the Gorgon.
I know how the warheads exploded! The sensors that are used to determin its proximity to its target are turned on by falling debris, and when the ship hull crumples around it the warheads thinks it has made contact and detonates.
OOC: You need a good reason for the warheads to explode. Maybe a marine detonated one? Shooting a nuke wouldnt do anything. Plus, you didn't say you attacked, you said your captain told his officers to attack.
Look at my last post, I do say how they detonated. And I thought it was a given that when he said "fire" and nothing happened to prevent the firing that the ship did fire.
OOC: YOu forgot one thing... the fact that they need to be ARMED. If they had been armed beforehand, they would have detonated on contact with their restraints on the ship :) Also, just say IC that your ships weapons begin to fire just as the Gorgons begin to fire.
The sensors that are used to determin its proximity to its target are turned on by falling debris
The sensors that determin proximity weren't turned on until the falling debris hit the switches. That's why the didn't detonate when they came i contatc with the restraints.
And I shot first!
So the debris armed than triggered the bomb... thats kind of a long shot, don't you think? I would assume a bomb would be built better than that...
Plus, you told your people to fire first. Mine fired then. Plus, the microsecond inbetween is irrelavent, is it not?
Actually, it's bit of a problem with the bombs construction. The sensors tell it when it hits its target, but the sensors also assume that for the bomb to be launched it has to have been armed. So, when it thinks it hit something it also thinks that it has already been armed, so it blows.
And my guys shot before you even shot the freighters. The time difference between my and your shot should be a few minutes, at least. Even if I did shoot a mere 3 seconds before you my shots should have still landed before you could shoot. You have to either post damage, or how you avoided damage.
Ok, let's get this straight.
1. Therefore, turbulence on transports would make them go boom.
2. The Gorgon-Leviathan and Tugger-Transport battles are not occuring at the same place, only nearby.
IC:
The Gorgon takes massive damage two the front pylons, but has had no severe hits. Luckily for the leviathan, it wont be firing a plasma burst any time soon.
One of the tugger's is cought in the explosion and is ripped to shreds. The other one barely escapes it. Once the explosion is over, the ship returns hoping to find any bombs that survived the blast...

The Kanuckistani fighter wing is close now; just over an MSK away and closing on the surviving Tugger near the Klonor* freighters... or atleast what's left of them.
Powering weapons, they form up into five flights of five fighters each; the small yet potent unmanned craft locking weapons while they line up for their attack run.
OOC: MSK=one million kilometers, or 3.3 lightseconds. It'll take them another minute to close and engage from this distance.
Also, the fighters are fairly small, measuring only 5x3x1 meters(LxWxH), and unmanned; it's possible they might even be misstaken for missiles at first.
The freighter captain, sensing something is awry, orders his crew to cloak the ship. The outline of the ship disapears, as optical and sensor cloak is enabled.
Ok, let's get this straight.
1. Therefore, turbulence on transports would make them go boom.
No, because the sensors aren't activated. READ WHAT I WROTE! Falling debris activated the sensors. Ships don't usually have their walls collapsing and their hulls rupturing when there is a little turbulence, so no debris would even exist in the rooms.
Also, the odds of the debris falling on the controls that activate the sensors are almost 10,000 to one, due to the complex procedure that needs to be followed. The fact that they were activated this time is no more than pure luck.
Anyways I already stated my casualties, so why are we still arguing about this?
No reason, I just felt like clarifying.
Anyways, to recap:
My Gorgons Quadpylons are down, so you cant get shot by its plasma cannon (Which would utterly destroy you.)
It is firing its entire payload of rail guns and missiles at the Leviathan.
It's fighters are attacking your fighters, my fighters outnumber yours.
My remaining tugger is cloaked because of Kanuckistan. However, it is still flying around trying to find a Harbringer warhead.
Lemme just say that a gun that can kill a ship in one shot is a GODMOD, but I wont go any farther since you have had it be disabled, and that shows at least a small grasp of how things work here.
My Leviathan attacked your fighters. You never said what happened to them.
Sorry if I'm being a pain in the ass over this, but I like to have my attacks dealt with before another attack happens.
OOC Sorry. It depends on the ship. Medium sized like small frigates would be sheared in half. Large ones would probably lose a side of their ship, depending on several factors.
IC: The fighters try their best to dodge fire, and 10 are knocked out.
IC2: Meanwhile, near a Klonor fleet (assuming you do have them), a single Pirate courier ship heads, uncloaked, towards a Klonorian fleet.
OOC: If the single ship is gonna try any pirate stuff, it wont last long
IC:
The Athena bombers, seeing the hole that the destroyed Pirate fighters left, dart through the formation of ships and swopp down towards the Gorgon, releasing their payload of Disruptor Missles aimed at the Rail Gun targeting systems (Disruptor missles knock out ship systems and the like, similar to what an EMP would do if we didn't have all the anti-EMP stuff).
OOC: ill bbl, just IC what your fleet says to the courier.
"Attention incoming vessel. This is General Salm of the Klonor Fleet Command. Halt your progress and state your intentions or you will be destroyed."
To emphasize the statement, 3 Harbinger Cannons rotate to point at the incoming ship.
Kanuckistan
28-10-2003, 05:32
The Kanuckistani fighters split up when their quarry vanishes from their scopes, fifteen making for the other engagment, while the remaining ten divert power to sensors and fly picket around the wreckage and the surviving freighter, looking for telltails of the hidden ship.
The courier responds
'Please! Dear god! Help me! I am being chased by 5 Scimitars!'
Behind him, are as he says, 5 Scimitars shooting intermittent bursts at him.
The Tugger intensifies its cloak by diverting more power to it's system.
"You will power down immedietly or you will be destroyed. You will maneuver onto the following flightpaths using only maneuvering thrusters, and you will transmit the command coded for your ship. Respond now, or be fired upon."
Kanuckistan
28-10-2003, 06:11
The fighters continue their tasks; it's clear that any attempt to salvage the warheads from the wrecked freighter will likly draw fire when you disturb the debris.
The other fighters continue to close on the other engagment.
Why would he power down if he is being shot at?
because if he doesn't then he'll be killed in approximatle 8 seconds. The Harbinger Cannons can accelerate a Harbinger Warhead to .99999999 light speed every 4 seconds. There are currently 20 Cannons pointed at him. Figure 5 or 6 seconds to get a target lock, 1 more second to push the "fire" button, and one last second for the warhead to travel and impact on his ship in a multi-gigaton explosions.
It's either face possible death from the fighters, or certain death from me.

The LRRSV Fredrik Bajer, a new Abraham Lincoln class battlecruiser, has just finished its readiness tests not far from Gamma Draconis. However, in the weapons test, a plasma conduit blew off its cannon, causing light damage to the foreward plasma cannons.
"Control, this is DR-88735. I have found the blown conduit. It is repairable, but we will need to meet up with a repair vessel to fix the hull damage and get new cannons."
"DR-88735, we read you. Prepare to dock. There is a Klonor base not far away, the Gamma Draconis shipyards. They will probably give us a warm welcome. AI, please plot us a Hyperspace route to Gamma Draconis."
"Right away, command. Course plotted. ETA 30 minutes."
"Prepare to hyperspace. Control to all repair bots, return to the hanger."
"We copy, command."
"Gamma Draconis base, this is the LRRSV Fredrik Bajer. We are headed your way, and we should arrive in about 30 minutes. Just FYI."
"Are all the resourcers in?"
"We are."
"Hyperspace on your discresion."
"Ok. Here goes. Three.....Two.....One......"
A blue hyperspace waveform appears in front of the battlecruiser, and it dissappears into hyperspace.
OOC: LRR, you are aware im played by Attican, correct?
IC: The fighter waits until the last minute, then unleashes all the chaff he can, hoping one of the fighters will run into it. He then stops and powers down.
"This is Klonor Brder Patrol Number 3V6L-93 contacting the LRRSV Frederik Bajer, please state your reasons for entering the Gamma Dracnois System, as well as any dangerous materials brought with you. Also, be forewarned that we are currently having some pirate activity in the system. Nothing much, it shpuld be squashed in a few minutes, but watch yourselves."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As the Pirate vessel powers down a ring of Flak Cannons that orbit the closest Harbinger Cannon target and fire, forming a ring of anti-fighter fire around the ship and preventing the following vessels from closing any closer.
"Now, state your business, and why we shouldn't kill you right now."

OOC: LRR, you are aware im played by Attican, correct?
IC: The fighter waits until the last minute, then unleashes all the chaff he can, hoping one of the fighters will run into it. He then stops and powers down.
OCC: No.
Klonor, the ship was already in hyperspace by the time yours was sent. Unless the message was transmitted Sub-Etha, the cruiser could not have detected it. I'll assume it was transmitted Sub-Etha.
IC:
The Fredrik Bajer soon arrives at its destination, surprised at what it finds.
"Multiple contacts, some unknown. Others are Klonor ships. Lots of energy spikes, must be a battle."
"Right outside Klonor's biggest base? Who do these people think they are?"
"3V6L-93, this is the LRRSV Fredrik Bajer. We are in need of repairs, and thought you might be able to help. We are a fully armed combat vessel, perfectly capable of defending ourselves from pirates. But are sensors are picking up what appears to be a battle in progress. Are you in need of assistance?"
"All weapons stations on line, load the torpedo tubes."
"All weapons stations are on-line and targeting. Point defense lasers are fully operational."
*The AI blasts a small asteroid just to be sure that they work*
"Prepare to launch the Acolytes. We should send out a scout to reconnoiter the situation. Are any ready?"
"We have scouts Gamma and Epsilion ready."
"Thats good. Tell them to launch and head for the battle, but keep out of the main engagements."
"Scouts Gamma and Epsilion, prepare for launch. Head for the battle area, but stat out of the main engagements."
The two scout pilots run to their craft, and their groundcrews give the pilots the go-ahead to launch. They rocket out of the bay doors, headed for the engagement.
The courier replies:
'Please, dear god... help me! I have been chased by pirate fighter elements for two days!'

Er......whatever cognative entities might be able to interpret it?
:D
But anyhows,
The two scouts speed twoards the engagement going on between the pirates and Klonor ships.

"Fredrik Bajer, you are granted permission to dock with the shipyards and begin repairs. And don't worry about the pirates, a single Leviathan is giving their main ship a good pounding. You might want to turn on some surface cameras, it's bound to be an entertaining light-show when their ships finally blow."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
To the Courier
"State your name, who you work for, and your reasons for being in this system. Any falsification will result in your instant execution (the Cannons are still pointed right at the ship)"
'My name is Heinrich Bajark, I am a former 'employee' of the Death's Head Pirates guild, and I have come bringing inf---static-.'
Apparently, his comm relay lost power.
OOC: What damage did the Gorgons guns and missiles do to the Leviathan?
OOC: And all the courier has is data discs.
I'll post the response to the Courier now, but I'll need to go back and re-read posts to post the ship happenings.
IC:
"An Elysium tansport will be approaching your vessel soon. You will board that vessel and surrender yourself to the Marines on board. Any hostile action shall be met with zero tolerence. And what kind of info do you have?"
'Information about the pirate merger, territorial expansion of the pirate guilds on the fringe, and facilities being built to mass produce new generations of pirate vessels.'
"If you have what you say you have, you'll be amply rewarded. Have you suffered any injuries in your journey?"
As the commander continues to question, an Elsyium transport moves closer and docks with the courier ship, opening it's hatch.
The Pilot of the Courier looks behind him, seeing that the hatch is open, he gets up, raises his hands over his head, and says 'hello.'
OOC: The last post I see regarding our ships in combat is me attacking you, not you attacking me. Am I missing something?

*A five-ship delta of Super Acolytes flies around the battlecruiser*
"Any particular berth you want us in?"
Yes, you are missing something. My gorgon opened up with all weapons on the Leviathan.
Where? What post? Cause the last ship to ship action that I see is me attacking you.
And it can't be "all weapons"? Some weapons have to be on the back of the ship, and thus unable to shoot at me.
And you are right, not -all- of the weapons are firing. My ship has its starboard side to yours, since the quadpylons are down, that brought some turrets with it.

Well, that is not necessarily true. For example, my Sajuuk Cor class ion frigates only have one weapon, and it is fixed.
The Leviathan took the burst in the side, the force of the impact spinning it around with a massive gaping hole in the starboard armor.
As the Gorgon prepares for its next attack the Athena Bombers strike (That's the post that I kept referring to, I'll quote it).
The Starboard Main rail gun targetting system is disabled, and engineers quickly attempt to repair it. In the meantime, the backup system is put online, not being as accurate, the rail guns wont be firing at vital systems.
OOC: What about the missiles? And what about the Courier?
OOC: Would those missles have been targeted at the Leviathan? If so, they're part of the shots that spun the ship around.
and for the courier, do you want him to have actual information, or be a secret agent sent by the pirates? I have some good stuff planned either way
IC:
"You will place your hands on your head and will indicate where the discs are."
(I don't want to do much more with him until you respond)
OOC: Yes, but more are being fired.
OOC2: Real information.
IC: The courier puts his hands on his head and points his foot at a storage locker.
The lead commando, being covered by the rest of the team, quickly scans the compartment for any explosives and then removes the discs. He pops them into a portable reader and takes a quick look
"Holy shit! Look at this stuff. Command is going to pitch a fit when they see this!"
Turning back to the courier
"Why did you decid to give us this info?"
Klonor, is this happening anywhere near where you are rebuilding the Colossus? I have some ideas for the convoy that is carrying the last of the beam cannons if it is.
The Colossus is being built in two places, one of them is where this is taking place. However, if you want some action to happen it'll need to be pretty far outside the system. Way to many guns in system for a any battle to last
(OOC: This is a blatant invitation for piracy...)
A small convoy of Guanyan ships, carrying four Heavy Beam Cannons for Klonor's newly reconstructed Colossus, makes it's way through the Ceta Draconis system. Consisting of two cargo ships hauling the cannons and some peripheral equipment and an escort of two Klonor-bought Orions and five Scimitar-class Warships, the convoy is nearing the Gamma Draconis system where the cannons are to be delivered. The trip so far has been uneventful, but Commander Harris, the commanding officer of the convoy aboard his Scimitar, Redoubtable, is keeping a watchful eye on surrounding space. There have been reports of pirate activity in the area...
(If Galactic Pirates wants to jump on this, feel free to do so.)
'Because, I was sickened by the Galactic Pirate Guild's new policies regarding survivors of pirated ships! They are now ordered to scrap every salvagable part of a ship, including life support, then leave the former crew and passengers on board to rot! I was sickened, and in protest, I even gave survivors of ships portage to the port of their choice. The Guild didn't like this, commandeered my ship, and attempted to arrest me. So I got all the data I could, and escaped on my courier vessel.'
OOC: Guanyu, I don't have enough ships in the sector.
OOC2: The stuff your marines saw were station blueprints for what the pirates either built or are planning to build. There is more on the discs, but this is what they saw:

OCC: Ohh!!!!!!! Will there be any cross-GA intelligence sharing here?
The GA has no connection with this RP in any way.
IC:
"Really? Well, if you truly have acted in the way you described you shall find much welcome here. For now, kep your hands where I can see them and walk in a straight line!"
The Courier Pilot follows.
"Can you rescue the crew of my former ship? Last I heard they were going to be executed..."

Meanwhile, the fifteen Kanuckistani Daemon's Bane class USV Interceptors finally enter weapon's range of the pirate Gorgon engaging the Klonor Leviathan. Doing what interceptors do best, they line up for attack runs on any pirate fighters, or, failing that, missiles fired at the Klonor vessel.
OOC: I find it interesting how all these craft just by chance were in the area.
IC: The fighters engage the interceptors as well as the Klonor fighters (I guess we will do fighter losses AFTER tha main engagement?)
It always gets complicated whe n you have numerous peoples engaging in simultaneous battles. Person A attack Person B's fighters and kills them. Person C doesn't know this, and has his fighters attack Person A's. Or, Person B destroyed the fighters of Person A, Person A doesn't see the post, and he and person C spend 2 pages fighting ships that were already killed. I like to keep my battles one on one, or 3 players at the maximum.
Guys, I'm having some serious problems getting into this thread. Actually, any thread started by GP. It takes 20 try's to load, often doesn't show posts, and often times posts my posts incorrectly. I'm gonna have to drop out. Sorry.
AE, just assume that the pirates blew up the Leviathan, or captured it, whichever you like. If you still want to have the battles between yourself and Kanuckistan in GD be my guest, but I can't be in it.
Klonor - the whole forum has been wacked out for 4 hours, and is getting whacked out a lot.
I know that. I mean this thread more than any other. There are times (very few and far between) when the NS forums work perfectly, but even then I have trouble with this thread. This has happened to me before. I don't get it, I probably never will get it, and I don't want to get it (Well, i do want to understand it, but it just seemed to fit to say that I don't)
I can tell you why, but it is a long response. Anyways, the official response from max berry:
'I think it's the size of the MySQL database. It gets pretty huge. And it gets hit very hard all day long. Periodically I clean the thing out and performance gets slightly better. But overall, it sucks a lot. I'm hoping to replace the whole thing.'
So, obviously, this thread uses a lot of tables on his database. Don't quit the thread though. I have an extended storyline.
Then I'll wait until he replaces the whole thing. This is to much of an agrivation to put up with (this thread works so much less than any other thread that I am just shocked)
klonor: Clear your cache.
