Western Asia
25-10-2003, 21:56
Western Asia's military manufacturers have some less-lethal/non-lethal (see note) weapons systems that you might be interested in.

Western Asian Less-Lethal Weapons Systems (LLWS)*

*- The title LLWS indicates the fact that these systems, if used improperly (be it intentional or unintentional), can cause serious, long-term biophysical damage and even death. Under normal operating conditions, and even somewhat past the established limit of safety, these systems will not cause permanent injury. The term "Less Lethal Weapon" is the term of choice for Western Asia’s military (IDF) and civilian police force, if your forces or departments use the term "non-lethal weapon" then that term aptly applies to these systems.

Systems that can be used with non-lethal ammunitions:

HIWS (76mm, 66mm, or 40mm)
Fly-K 51mm "Toe Mortar" and "Area Defense System"
(Note: this is when/if these systems are used with non-lethal rounds)

The PepperBall System

SYSTEMS
The PepperBall® system is unique in the industry, the first non-lethal weapon to combine multiple effects to accomplish its objective safely and without permanent injuries or death. Since late 1999, PepperBall has been deployed in thousands of situations around the globe, successfully filling a gap in the use of force continuum where no other tools were available.

The PepperBall® system consists of a PepperBall® launcher and PepperBall® projectiles. The launcher is a semi-automatic high-pressure air delivery system. PepperBall® projectiles are hard plastic spheres built to burst on impact. The red, or live projectiles, are the foundation of the system and are filled with enough PAVA (Capsaicin II) powder to irritate a suspect's eyes, nose and throat. As such, the PepperBall® system combines a unique kinetic impact technology with pepper powder irritant as a non-lethal deployment device for peace officers. We call this combination of effects ChemneticsTM and hold multiple patents protecting our technology.

It is the Chemnetics of the PepperBall® projectiles that make this an effective tool. PepperBall® projectiles are launched from several types of launchers appropriate for the intended use. These launchers use high-pressure air or gas (CO2) to launch the projectiles. Because the projectiles break upon impact, they do not penetrate, making this weapon safe even at point blank range.

For Public safety and Government markets, PTI markets several launchers. The launchers include rifle (SA-200) and pistol (SA-10) configurations for public safety and the government sectors, and pistols for home protection. The company markets a number of PepperBall® projectiles for tactical and training use in these markets, including: the pepper powder filled live projectiles, inert training rounds, dye filled marking rounds, water filled indoor training rounds and glass shattering rounds.

-----

PepperBall SA200 systems come pre-assembled and include a launcher, 13 cubic inch high pressure air bottle, butt stock, and maintenance kit. See descriptions of systems below for more information on launcher characteristics. Launchers also may be purchased individually.

Each agency purchasing a PepperBall System must certify at least one officer as a PepperBall Instructor. The one-day course covers system operation, safety, deployment, and training issues. Instructor Certification courses are held throughout the U.S.W.A. and once a month at PepperBall Technologies' headquarters Tel Aviv, Israel Province, Western Asia. Special arrangements can be made, however, to conduct regional courses at a host agency site.

PROJECTILES
PepperBall projectiles are frangible spheres that are built to burst on impact with enough kinetic force to get a suspect’s attention while unleashing a burst of Capsaicin II (PAVA) powder into an individual’s eyes, nose, and lungs.
PepperBall Projectiles are available in bulk quantities of various sizes. PepperBall Projectiles are not warranted for use with other manufacturer’s launchers. Use of PepperBall Projectiles in other launch platforms voids all manufacturer’s warranties and liabilities.

FN 303/M303 Less Lethal Launcher System (L3S)
Manufactured by by FNH, Inc. (Fabrique Nacional Herstal, a subsidiary of Lacroix Pyro-Technologies of Sniper Country), the FN 303 (Military Designation M303 LLWS) is designed to be the premier system for situations requiring less lethal response. Completely dedicated to reduced lethality and liability, the basis of the FN 303 concept lies in its ammunition. The .68 caliber, 8.5 g weight projectiles utilize a fin stabilized polystyrene body and non-toxic bismuth forward payload to provide both a more accurate, greater effective range than other less than lethal weapons. The primary effect of the projectile is trauma, which directly neutralizes the aggressor. In addition, secondary effects from the projectiles can be delivered via a chemical payload depending on mission requirements. Magazines are 15 round capacity with a clear rear cover to allow for rapid ammunition payload verification.

The compressed air powered FN 303 launcher is designed to fire less lethal projectiles exclusively, with an effective range of 50 meters at a point specific target for law enforcement and a maximum range of 100 meters for military applications. It is made from durable, lightweight polymer and features comfortable ergonomics and an easy to operate safety. In addition to the flip-up iron sights, the integrated Picatinny 1913 rail can be used to mount red dot sights or other accessories. An undercarriage version with mounts is available for most tactical rifles. Available accessories for the FN 303 include compressed air bottle, air filling equipment, tactical vest, sling and carrying case.

The FN 303 Less Lethal Weapons System is designed specifically to employ less-lethal ammunition in crowd-control and crowd-supression missions where lethal force is not appropriate or authorized.

Maintaining order in a changing world demands the latest tactics. Globally, law enforcement agencies are grasping the concept of "reduced lethality" as a means of crowd control or any situation where neutralization of suspects must be accomplished with maximum effectiveness and minimum risk. The FN 303 is designed specifically to meet these challenges, firing an array of projectiles suitable for crowd control, suspect seizure or any purpose where less lethal force is an option. The FN 303 is available in a stand alone version and an undercarriage version which mounts under most tactical rifles.

As far as transport vehicles, we know of no vehicles in existance that do not at least create normal carbonoxide combustion emissions (although fuel cell research has proven to be very promising, as has the use of Biodiesel products in the place of normal hydrocarbon fuels) but our ULAs can carry large loads over great distances with a minimum of polluting activity (and power generator systems can be modified or replaced with more environmentally friendly systems).

Some ULA info (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1568750#1568750) (see sections on the ULAs in each of the posts).

The Desert Raider Rapid Strike/Fast Attack Vehicle (RSV/FAV) (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=606437#606437) can run on Biodiesel(tm) or could be fitted with a lightweight electric motor and battery pack upon request. FCP-5 Automatic Submachine Gun

http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-9/387586/SubGun.JPG

A revolutionary Submachine Gun, this thing is compact, powerful and practical all at the same time. Capable of dealing death at many rounds a minute, with powerful hollow point or teflon coated 9mm rounds, this subgun can fire at a 250 metre plus range, though this feature is not needed in CQB.

Still, that overwhelming firepower at close range is devastating. It is also compace and light, meaning for CQB, Airborne and vehicle crew use. It has been around for a while, but has gone through various modifications that mean there is less chance of a problem developing.

When used in conjunction with the FC-57 Assault Rifle, firepower is at a premium, and all circumstances can be dealt with. Also, when used in vehicles, a downed pilot or lost crew can fight their way out without the lack of firepower a pistol gives.

Snipers can also use it, as a CQB weapon and for tight squeezes.

Some stats, for number crunchers:

Caliber: 9x19mm Luger/Para
Weight: 1.5 - 1.9 kg empty
Length : 600 mm
Barrel length: 200 mm
Rate of fire: 700 - 800 rounds per minute
Magazine capacity: 10, 25, 30 rounds
Effective range: 250 meters

An ultimate CQB weapon.

Cost: $750

Well our firearms are all designed to kill people but they can all acept Our specialist non lethal ammo which is also available in all major round types and sizes.

Crookfur NL ammo:

Based on traditional Chalk traning rounds our NL ammo uses a hardened lump of material comprising of an inert material that can be impregnated with numerous chemical agents such as CS and pepper. On impact with the target the round bursts into a cload of white powder, imparting a significant level of energy to the target (enough to hurt but not injure, unfortunatly as with all NL systems we cannot non lethality if hits take place above the sternum) and releaseing a cload of smoke/chemical agent to aid in the subduing of the target.
the pirce is based on the exact round required.

As for non poluting vehciles we offer a wide rnage of vehciles that are very close. Using alcohol systems the exhaust of our vehicles is primarily water vapour with small levels of carbon monoxide/dioxide.

We can offer hydrogen fuel cell systems on some of our products.

Independant Hitmen: We believe in non-violence. However, we acknowledge that the world is a dangerous place. Ergo, we desire to build a small defence force, and a covert operations force to make counter-attacks if needed.

Western Asia: We have designed and built a few vehicles with hydrogen fuel cell technology, but due to our "basket case" economy, we are currently unable to produce large numbers.

(OOC: From about 2000 to 2002, Ford produced electric minicars. If anyone knows where I could still buy one in RL, please do tell.)

Freedom Country: Can it fire tranquilizer darts rather than bullets?

Crookfur: We are looking into your vehicles. Can your weapons fire fire tranquilizer darts rather than bullets?

After looking into your helicopters, would it be possible to outfit a
CFAS K45 Vandal light utility helicopter, and/or a Mi17CF Ultra Hip, and/or CFAS K47 Goth Gunship/combat scout Helicopter, and/or a CFH15A Roc Heavy Lift Rotodyne with a hydrogen based engine?

We are still willing to accept proposals. Expect a decision before Monday.

Refitting any of those aircraft could be achived, it would likely be a slightly expensive and limited edt job but yes it could be done.

All our weapons can be used to fire tranqualiser darts if you could get them to fit into the relavent cartriages. the only difficulty might be getting the limited ballisitc perfomance required to make a tranq work (ie you don't want them going right through) while retaining enough power in the round to work the action of various weapons but still it can be done.

As for larger vehcile mounted weapons we must point out that these are designed to engage various armored or airborne targets and while not designed to engage personel will unfortunatly have a rather effect on them.

http://www.freewebs.com/bluebomber/storefrontweapons.htm

Towards the bottom of the page we have 2 non-lethal weapons currently in use by our police, the guns load either gel tip or micro syringe rounds. Also higher on the page we have a repeating rocketlauncher with a couple types on non-lethal ammos available: Flash, Smoke, Teargas, Nonlethal Net, and Nonlethal Sticky. Also the rocketlaunchers can fire underwater, so that would be useful for your covert teams.

http://www.freewebs.com/bluebomber/storefrontother.htm

Our suit has a self defense upgrade with 2 tasers, a pepperspray gun, and a copy of our nonlethal revolver built in, along with a few lethal weapons, but you may remove those at your discretion.

Western Asia: We would like ten Striker40, and would like to know what CS gas is before we place our order for the ammnution.

We would also like 60 Desert Raider Rapid Strike/Fast Attack Vehicle (RSV/FAV), with the electric motor.
We are curious... do you have a picture of the Desert Raider? If not, it's fine. We were just wondering.

We would also like four SoundBlaster sytstems. I'm not sure what particular thread they were on, but I got to them either on that thread or through a link on that thread.

Crookfur: We will soon telegram to you a list of vehicles we are interested, and would like price quotes for the modification to hydrogen based engines.

Feline: Your weapons seem a tad on the expensive side. However, we would be interested in possibly utilizing the technology on tanks.

Sileetris: We would like 15,080 of the rifles and 15,110 of the pistols.

We would also like three fog bombs, and a price quote for the Electric vehicle capable roads.

Please note more orders may be forthcoming to all of you, so come back to the thread.

We will sell the appropriate ionised beam weapon technology that could be used for tanks (You mean mounted on them, right?) for, let's say, $4,000,000? It's nothing you would not be able to find with some limited research if your economy was better.

Also, in our store you will find a section on uniforms... perhaps you overlooked it?

OOC:
CS Gas (Tear Gas). A non-lethal gas used to disperse riots or crowds. Causes a burning sensation in the mucosal membranes (eyes, nose, throat) that lasts during exposure and for a short time afterwards. CS is sometimes used in hostage situations or hostile stand-offs to encourage perpetrators to give in (or at least to distract them so that directed actions can bring an end to the situation).

For wide areas, a few rounds every couple of meters should provide saturation. As far as deployment goes, try to place your troops upwind of the site or at least to equip them with gas masks so that their own 'goods' don't come back at them (this is also why the OC pellets used in the PepperBall and FN/M303 systems are so well liked by our police forces and soldiers who sometimes have to deal with hostile crowds in foreign areas--with the power of the OC both at close range (with the PepperBall system) and from afar (with the FN/M303) and with the small spread area those weapons are very useful for engaging point-targets or even small areas without a risk of officers or soldiers contaminating their own environment with the irritants.
26-10-2003, 21:13
