Yesterday Congress realeased the okay to start mining a small part of a tropical rainforest which contained a massive amount of Uranium. Though many citizens wanted to keep the rainforest intact, all political views were satisfied with the outcome. With the new found resources, many jobs were created and brought some rise to the economy. Though some politicians beleive that the nuclear research advances may bring some neighboring or foreign nations to their feet... Emperor Maximus Aerillius speaks:
"There is no intent of making nuclear weapons at this point, we have no enemies, and if our allies wish for us to stop then if no other alternative... we are forced to stop."
With this in mind, Meridius opens some of its Uranium for exporting, only to allies... for fear that their material could be used to produce weapons of mass destruction... Maximus further adds...
"In the event of a war between us or between allies and enemies, we shall aid with the precaution-made nuclear strike capability. In short, we will become "Nuclear-Ready" but shall not have any produced until times of war..."
As we can see, Meridius is a politically moral nation which doesn't want anything more than what it gets...
