The United States of Antarctica123 Has decided finnaly after much debate in the senate, that the island of Iceland must be annexed to provide much needed habitation space. Our nation, although stretching from the southern tip of what once was Argentina to the very edges of the Antarctic continent, still is unsuitable for our growing population. Also our power projection is somewhat limited by our location at the "bottom of the world"
For this reason we intend to settle a few million people on the Icelandic coast, and also into the inhospitable, barren inner landscape. We will construct our famous domes and underground facilites, transforming much of the country side into comfortable, grassy fields, artificial rainforests, jungles and lakes.
Naval bases will be constructed at the site of current fishing ports.
Our spies and special forces have determined that the people will welcome our arival and take over for what benifits we will bring to the environment and economy, but if there should be resistance we will have the help of several Icelandic groups including their national hunting assocation and several police forces.
Revjiak Airfield will be taken as a major military airport and civiilan airline hub.

A substantial fleet is being sent to secure the island, we dpo not expect to do battle, but are always prepared at vunerable phases like this. We are sending A Carrier Battle Group, Amphib Group and Sub-Surface group. The exact composition is classified

Regular teraforming is not the object, but rather MASSIVE greenhouses that will be linked together to form large stretches of landscape. I have no doubts that if the greenhouse is to be removed after we cultivate the land, it will revert back into the snowy, empty expanses that are there now.

OOC: real life antarctica has large greenhouses in operation and for my NS nation (in antarctica) we have already done this covering 30% of the country with linked domes and 23% with seperated domes.

That would certainly ease the strain on our economy, and free up funds to finance other projects, therefore we accept your financial help and will reserve a 15X15km parcel for you. Would you like the land to be under its own dome or would you be willing to share a larger dome with the rest of the area?

That shouldn't be a problem, a dome with the diameter of 15 km will be designed and erected by one of the old fishing ports by the project's end.

Either way I am talking about the real Iceland which, doesn't really have a military and basically they are agreeing to this.

We aren't attacking anything and we see no such military base on the peaceful Icelandic Island. Our fleet was recently greeted by a small floatilla of fishing boats and small rafts and we are begining to unload our materials to start the project. In fact 3,500 Icelandic civillains have been signed on as workers for the new domes. As part of our deal with them, we will be covering several existing homes with the greenhouses and will transform thier land into beachfront property, complete with a heated stretch of coastal waters encased by the dome.

If you insist that your base is there when it is clearly not there... we must be dealing with some sort of parallel universe, i'm suprised that we can communicate even though we are in seprate realties.

We will teach them all of the intracies of the dome tech while you repay us with labor. We will provide all specailized tools and 3 hot meals a day to them if you agree and upon completeion complete inforamation not covered by the training we give your workes will be sent to you along with the recipe to make the transparanent material which we make the domes out of.

If you are talking about the RL Iceland (And not some NS country named Iceland), then I'm afraid Grimdale will be forced to oppose such a move as it conflicts with our own interests in the region. With this in mind the 3rd, 7th, 18th, 15th, 1st, and 25th fleets are moving to intercept your invasion force. Long range air support will also be provided from land bases in Grimdale and from several forward deployment bases in the area. I hope that this can resolved peacefully, but if not we are prepared to fight.

Firstly it is not an invasion force but it has already arrived, we are prepared fully to face any threat to our new territory. An additonal Carrier Battle group and a Battleship Group are being called up and organized at the news of your fleet movements. They will join our force immediatly. The North Pacific Fleet is also moblizing and will be re-directed in a short time. We suspected something like this might happen, for this reason we already throwing our plan into action, temporaliy holding off on construction and instead digging in fortificatrions and setting up HAWK and Patriot PAC-3 SAM sites. regualr C-5 flights have begun landing at the airbase already, and land based fighters, attackers and bombers with in flight refueling, will arrive shortly. Additonal helicopters are being transported aboard C-5s
Be advised we are skilled fighters especially in the type of landscape and our navy is fammilar operating in waters like those around iceland. We do not intend to abandon this new project, no matter what it takes.

We ask that our partners in this endeavor try to persuade Grimdale to back down, either diplomaticly or by supporting our fleet.

We agree with your proposal, and we find it most generous. On a short trm, we can deploy a workforce of 3245 men and women, all previously involved with terraforming projects on either the Utharian Peninsula on earth, or the Kharakian colonies in space. This means they do have some experience with similar technology, therefore the training phase should be able to run very smooth.

Also, if needed we are prepared to offer diplomatic support to this project, something that you might need soon, or so it seems.

OOC- Basicly SOSUS is an underwater sonar monitering system. Sea bed sonar bouys are connected to a station on land that can then moniter all sea traffic surfaced or submerged traveling through an area. For the most part it functions as an early warning system against submarines. The US Navy has made extensive uses of SOSUS systems in both the Atlantic and Pacific. The Icelandic stations cover both the Iceland-Greenland passage and the Iceland-British Isles oceanic passages.

We have left a number of submarines, fleet secruity boats and a few frigates and destroyers to help protect the covoys ferrying supplies and workers to Iceland. We are already begining to let the first wave of settlers come in and claim some of the less harsh landscape and beging building permanet structures.
The plants we have brought in will take at least 3 years to firmly take hold of the Icelandic soil and begin to flourish. We expect to allow our citizens unrestricted migration in 2 years however, entrusting the cultivation of some of the vegiatation to the very citizens that will be inhabiting the land.
The largest dome, will be completed in 4 months, if all goes well. After that many other domes and some smaller rectangular structures will need to be built in many areas. When we reach 75% coverage in 2 years, we will have a ceremony for all those who have worked on the project, our partners and with our neighbors on the island. The Government of Matich with our Naval assets on Iceland in mind have decided to send a large naval and marine force to the island.If we are attacked we will go to war.We have also established three air fields on the island and 3 more naval bases.Our Marine forces on the island number about 50,000.

500 F22s are patrolling the skies over our sector of Iceland we also have F35s,F15s,and F16s based there along with bomber and various other aircraft.

Current Grimdalian forces in Iceland consist of a mixture of 650 F-28s/F-28Ns, as well as another 300 transport and support planes scattered around various airfields. A full armored calvary division has been assigned protection duties. Current fleets in residence consist of 5 Raptors Nest carriers, 75 Franklin class cruisers, and 150 support craft. Additional NATO forces will be arriving as member nations make them availible. Construction on a tunnel from North America to Iceland has begun on both ends, with the NA one being based in Grimdale. Estimated time to completion is 7 years using our advanced boring equipment. Transport shall be by mag tubes.

How did you establish three air fields on the island and 3 more naval bases? And how did you get 50,000 marines on shore when we have been there for many months now and basically surround the island?

Nevertheless, we are preparing to defend our investment and citizens from your threats.

While I cannot speak for the other countries involved, what Grimdale and the NATO alliance are doing is hardly imperialism. We extract no taxes, the only land we use is otherwise useless, personnel stationed on the island provide an income source for the residents, basic facilities and infastructure have been improved, and we provide a measure of defense against invaders. So next time, before you start screaming imperialism get your facts straight.
