This is a message from the Democratic Republic of Cogsville, on behalf of the region of Gimptopia, and is a formal declaration of war on the region of Cogsdom.

The reasons behind this declaration will be held in a joint press conference by the foreign ministry, the treasurer, and the Democratic Republic of Cogsville Prime Minister, the Hon.Jack Cogan.

your a n00b nation, how can you possibly declare war and expect to get out of it alive?

The Democratic Republic of Cogsville is glad to announce that it has the backing of both the region of Gimptopia, and 2 other main regions in the Northern Hemisphere for military backing. The military operation shall be swift, and civillian casualties will be minimal.

The press conference will be held via telegram in 4 days by the Prime Minister, the Secratery of State, and the Defence Minister.

As recently mentioned in a press statement released by the leader of our region, the Rogue Nation of Sprattman, the Democratic Republic of Cogsville has announced war against the Kingdom of Cogsdom for a number of reasons which will be subsequently forthmentioned;

a)Political Treaties Broken
i)The Kingdom of Cogsdom, after a recently announced political and economic treaty between the region and our country has been suddenly and surruptitiouly prevented by the ruling factions within the communist governments of the region.
ii)The Prime Minister of the Democratic Republic of Cogsville, the Hon. Andrew Refshawgy MP was recently involved in a potential hazardous situation over in one of the member nations of Cogsdom. We felt that his life was at risk. Intelligence sources tell us that the radical right wing government supported, if not planned, this attrocious attack.

b)Military Treaties Broken
i)An extremely important treaty between the region, and our region, Gimptopia, was broken off by the Joint peoples of Cogsdom, in an act of aggression. The treaty stated an alliance between the two regions, and a military pact was also part of the treaty. The Democratic Republic of Cogsdom feels its position was jeopardised by the destruction of this treaty.

For these reasons we have decided to unequivically pronounce war on the Kingdom of Cogsdom. Our troops will be leaving for the region within the next week. Any allied support would be greatly appreciated.

Please indicate allied support, or any possible military, economic or political treaties or pacts by sending a secure telegram to the Democratic Republic of Cogsville.

Appears like I'm the largest nation here. Ok, before we start declaring war, it appears to me that Cogsdom hasn't replied yet. How about we just wait and see what they say? Should war be declared on unfair terms, I will aid Cogsdom.

However, should Cogsdom be in the wrong, I will support Cogsville with:

1 million of SR's troops
A small portion of our elite corps (haven't decided how much yet)
Some of our airforce (undecided)
Nuclear weapons MAY be provided, depends.

Only thing is, my soldiers will need transport of some kind.

OOC: It appears that everyone seems to be relatively n00bish. Have you all read the Sticky for newbies? Because 7% of your popluation for a military figure seems pretty unlikely. SR uses a more realistic (but still looked down upon) 5%, or was it 2? I cant remember atm. Anyway, ensure that you read that thread for info on how to really hold a war RP. if you go to war I'd like to ref it.

Lapse, just back off from SR Control. We really don't care what you think. Since we've developed more, we've built up a small stockpile of nuclear weapons. We won't use them against you, but we do have them. Just be aware of that fact.

I thought that was a large nuclear weapons stockpile for such a small nation. not even i have that, and im a lot bigger than him.
